Huia Report 12 Aug 2009 09:49

Daff, I am sorry I have failed to wish you all the best with your treatment lately, but as you can imagine my mind has been rather preoccupied with other things. Anyway I hope you will soon be back on here, your usual cheerful self.

My fingers are very dyslexic these days. I had to change slef to self. Not the first weird word I have typed, luckily I usually see them before I hit submit.

Huia.

Well, I am back... a very sore nether end, but it is all done and dusted... I was nil by mouth from last night just in case I needed a general, but all went well, didn't need a transfusion, I was first one down, so it was all over by 9.30. The theatre nurses took pity on me, and made me a lovely cuppa and toasted two crumpets for me... how kind was that!! I had to wait 6 hours in case I bled... but they let me out a little early for good behaviour, so I have been in about half hour..... well, by the time I have finished this, it'll be longer, lolol!!

Huia... I'll go and have a look in a moment, I am sorry, I didn't realise... but guessed sommat was up.... please share with us if you are feeling down.... we will try to cheer you up without making light of your situation, that's what friends are for. PM me if you need to, ok? xxxx

BC.... looks like you'll be having a wonderful time!! Will Mau be putting on the glitz, while you put your feet up, slurping the nectar, and practising your speach??? Did you get that sorted, after?

Thank you to everyone else... I am now off to look for Jethro..... R hasn't seen him since we left yesterday.... so I am getting a little bit worried.... he normally comes when I give the food call!

Loads of love

Pleased to see you are back Daff, sitting on the cushion??

Hope you have found Jethro by now, better check peoples' sheds if you haven't.

A large parcel with your name on the back arrived today. I have been very good and not opened it as I am assuming it is for tomorrow - you, as usual are very naughty.

~~~Hi all.
I am going to leave my OH to the tender mercies of our daughter and her 2 dogs today while I try to visit 4 resthomes, which will mean quite a bit of driving around. At least OH loves dogs. He used to work at the greyhound kennels at Wembley and then he did his Nat service in the war dogs training school. He has had dogs all his life until our last one was put down about 4 yrs ago. Now we just have a cat which he thinks is the best cat we have ever had. She certainly thinks he is her slave. All I am good for is filling her dish. We adopted her (aged 13) from somebody who was going to live overseas.
Daff dont forget, if you (got it at the 6th try! I tried yuo and all sorts.) want to sit down, dont just plonk yourself down and make sure it is a soft seat.
Huia.
Evening all! *bends knees and touches police helmet"
Glad you are back in the fray Daff and that the needle was sharp and pointy and not blunt and nasty. Pillow needed, attached to waist by rope, covering backside, so that you dont forget to put one down before you ascent. Make sure you rest up for a couple of days or so.....................it's important.
Hope the puddycat is back home - is he courting??? I think it's that time of year - my Jackson often looks longingly at the Queens next door, but without the tackle looking is all he does!
Huia love - I do hope that you find a suitable Rest Home - you do so deserve some respite. Distance makes practical help impossible, but I'm sure everyone on this thread wishes they could help out in one way or another.
Have a lovely wedding BC - shine you surely will, and glitter and sparkle. Bedazzling in fact!!!
Everyone else, take care, look after yourselves.
Bi for now
Huia, Jac and Ann have said it all... hope you find somewhere suitable soon... you need a well deserved rest!
Lol Jac, Ann and Huia... cushion is one that R dug out.... used for supporting baby Princesses heads if they fell asleep in the car seat.... not large enough for this ample behind, lolol... I also have to fight for the comfy spot with Pol, my old girl........
Jethro is now home safe and sound... he has almost certainly got himself shut in somewhere....... I know that he takes himself off whenever I go out... he loves human company, but does know when we pack that case I won't be around for a bit... he gets quite unsettled. And as Ann will confirm.... he loves to get into cars, lol!!
Jude, the parcel wasn't delivered, it has gone back to the depot.... I shall go and fetch it tomorrow, but thank you!! I did see a post from you........ you weren't imagining it, lol!
~~~~~~~~~~~~ waves to everyone, and wishes all a very good night.... I am off to my bed, lol... Jethro is giving me the evil eye, lolol

Love

Afternoon all!

Daff, am glad you are home, and besides having a tender behind, you are ok! Have you tried Arnica? Works wonders on bruises....I fell out of a caravan once when I was about 8 (was on roller skates and misjudged my speed!!! don't ask....!) landed on both knees and hands....it REALLY hurt...Mum gave me arnica...and accused me of faking next day! lol! We swear by it....may help!!

Huia - as others have said, I hope you are able to sort somewhere, so you at least get some respite. Its a shame you are the other side of the world, otherwise we all be able to support you, on a practical level!

BC - have a lovely time (am i too late?!)

Ann - PENBLWYDD HAPUS!!!!!!!!!!!! huge birthday hugs from me

~~~~~~~to everyone else
Hi daff still been warm here also.
Ann happy Birthday hope you had a good day.
I,m getting excited about seeing my youngest singing in the Three Choirs festival at the cathedral Sat evening but she is getting a bit nervous bless her i just hope she doesnt get to overwhelmed as she is a small 9 yr old and everything will look a bit overpowering for her. I,ve been trying to tell her what it might be like.
have a great weekend all and will let you know how it goes Sat
Huia Report 13 Aug 2009 20:12
Star, tell her to look for a nice friendly face in the audience (yours, unless you are in the wings) and sing to that person, forget the others. One of my neighbours was very nervous when we (as part of a choir of 1200!) sang to an audience of about 200,000 people the first time. It didnt bother me. I was there to enjoy myself and when we first stood to sing I thought 'I am here to entertain all these people' with emphasis on the I. Forget all the other choir members and the orchestra and soloists, I was the one doing the entertaining. It was quite an awesome feeling. But such a thought would probably make your youngest more nervous. Perhaps she could say 'that is aunty Bessie and that is cousin Carol' and think of them all as her relatives and friends. Would that make it easier for her?
