Good morning all. Maz, hope your son and his girlfriend can get themselves sorted. Sometimes that sort of attitude is not controlling though but rather that the person lacks confidence and needs the other person to be there all the time. Very difficult to live with somebody like that as they need constant reassurance that they are needed. Maybe she has been badly let down in the past. Not a good basis for a relationship though so they need to sort it out.

Morning Daff and all and I do hope you are rested by now, it is such a wonderful but energy sapping time! lol I took my two to a Circus which was held in a garden square nearby, it was quite magical with acrobats, dancers, clowns, and loads of other kiddy stuf, including a very camp hula hoop performer!

We are blessed with this lovely weather as we can go out and about every day and are very near the park. I have to say I am totally engrossed in the little ones and am too tired at the end of the day to even open a bottle of wine! Gosh! lol.... and you are right Ann, it is such a responsibility.

Hope all your energies have rushed back to you Daff, and you are now swinging on a hammock, in a straw hat, and reading at least two books.

Morning everyone... two minutes ago it was chucking it down... horizontal, lashing rain.... and now, suddenly, the sun has got his hat on, and all is bright and smiley!

BC... I did little bits of lots of things yesterday.... a bit of deadheading, and *glances at Ann, lol* a bit of *sticking* and yep... got it all over me!!

I tidied my sock drawer... wanted a particular pair to cheer me up, and knew they were in there.... somewhere!! All is now nice and tidy, and colour co-ordinated... well, sort of!

Then I started some washing... put some in tumble dryer... emptied, then filled the dishwasher... put away some of the clothes that are normally kept in the *spare* room so were languishing sulkily on top of the chest of drawers in our room.... sorted out my new printer... which had decided not to come out to play... but that was because *glares at Polgara* a certain cat has taken to investigating behind the unit!! Had to move everything to plug it back in, Grrrr!!!

Printed off some photos..... took some of the toys that Princess played with.... collaged then printed those off... then cut them all up... laid out a page.... dismantled an old photoframe to get a template for the main photo....... didn't like it... so tarted up the frame and popped the photo into it... looks lovely on my desk... then printed another photo... decided it was too big... dug out another empty photo frame, tarted it up with a couple of Princess embellishments...popped in photo... it looks lovely in littlies bedroom.......

back to scrapbook page, still empty, still forlorn looking..... I am still covered in glue... can't see the table for boxes of goodies, have now got about a square inch of space to work in........ half the clothes are still on the chest of drawers, even sulkier than they were before... mind, the sock drawer looks lovely! ;¬)) the tumble dryer has decided it wants to play up... I de-fluff it and IT stops sulking.......

Decide I don't like the background paper........ catches sight of the bright and cheerful Easter paper I bought cheep... errr I mean cheap, lol Sorry... couldn't resist!!

Re- arranged everything...... using lovely, cheerful home-made type factory paper in bright colours........ spent hours cutting out little ovals...... don't like them!!

Jethro wants his dinner... and scatters everything on the floor...

I yell at Jethro... pick everything up, then go and feed the trainee tigers....

R comes home... where oh where has the time gone?? By now it is 8.30 pm, no dinner on... nothing has been completed....... the house is a complete mess with bits of *stuff* scattered.... I have lost my reading glasses... stop giggling Ann!!...... and am reduced to wearing my computer glasses...... and I am STARVING!!!

R cooks sausage egg and chips, lol..... I am too knackered after my busy day... but I proudly show him my photoframes, and the new layout.... all that is glued down is the page edging, in lilac to match madam's t-shirt.

He looks suitably unimpressed, raises one eyebrow in a way he has, and turns telly on...

I fall into bed at 9.30, after a busy and uneventful day, wondering how one person (me!!) can make sooooo much mess without really even trying!

Maz, I do hope your son and his girlfriend get things sorted... I was a little bit like her when we were first married... albeit, our circumstances were a bit different, I was newly married, newly pregnant, in a strange country, no car, no phone, and no friends or family, no telly, and no internet.... it didn't take me long, really... but I well remember that feeling of R being the only person in the world I had, so didn't like him even going to work!! I was not a very self confident person at all..... those who have met me will know that I come across as having bags of it... but it has been hard won!! Ann is right... she may be needing constant reassurance... which could put a huge strain on any relationship. I hope they sort it all out, but whether she is controlling or lacking in confidence, it will take time.

~~~~~~~~~ to Liz.... did your visitors come last night? Mine were back... one of them snuffles at the catflap, lolol
Well... I have got a shopping list now...... must go and do some serious shopping... I want some paper, some glue (I had a terrible time with those glue dots!) some felt for clouds, and something quick and easy for dinner!
See you all later
Love
Daff xxxxxx
Daff!!!!!!! Oh dear, can't see for tears! laughing so much, I can just picture it - can you put the scrapbooking bit on the scrapbook thread as I don't think they all read this one and it is so typical of a scrappers day. I know where one of your pairs of glasses is. Well I think I do Lol!!!! I do know that not getting anywhere feeling, and the 'whatever have you been doing all day' look as well.
How is it that perfectly tidy sock drawers can muddle themselves up when your back is turned? And I am sure mine breed in the drawer, surely I didn't buy that many socks???
I tidied the airing cupboard yesterday and couldn't find a pair of my zip off shorts trousers, knew that I had washed both mine and T's, they are the same make. could find his, had a brain wave (I do sometimes!), Yep, they were hanging in his wardrobe. Now I have had that problem with socks before - I can't wear elasticated to wear soft tops and sometimes they are in masculine colours like brown or fawn - he seems to think any sock that is not blue or pink or other feminine shades are his so if I can't find my socks I have to search his drawer, by which time they have been stretched out of shape. But he has never filtched my trousers before!! I guess he had not tried to get them on, I promise they would not have fitted him!!!!
I have searched the house for a green bag , couldnt find it anywere, but tidying upstairs this morning there it was hiding under a pile of bedding that should have been put away earlier,I am about to cut down on all the towels I have accumilated, there are only three of us,I have more towels than Dunhelm.....lol.....same with saving duvets and pillows.... why ???????
I always get side tracked though.
Daff, try using small strips of double sided tape to stick you photos down if they go in the protective covers they wont move.... I very rarely glue....been there done that..lol.... hope I get to see your efforts.
love Jean xx
AnninGlos Report 21 Aug 2009 12:35
I rarely use glue either Jean, much prefer double sided tape. Only use mini glue dots on very small pieces of card/paper etc and bigger glue dots on some embellishments.
Rob will come home and find Daff stuck between the pages of a scrap book one day.
MrDaff
MrDaff Report 21 Aug 2009 13:08
*adds double sided tape to list* lol.... I am sure I have some, somewhere!!
Ann... next time you see R.... ask him about the FairIsle tights, lololol ;¬))
I have taken loads of the garden... some with Princess in, I'll try and put them on the page that goes with my printer... it looks like you can add your photos, and then give a link to family and friends to view them... not sure how that works, but I'll give it a whirl when I get back.
Right... I am really really going out shopping now, lol!!
See you later!
Hello Girls everyone appears to be full of busy! :O))
Have been amused at your scrapbooking Daff........you are soo stuck up lol...We have a big store near us that has recently had a refit and now a huge part of it is crafts and hobbies,which i'm interested in also,.I tend to squirrel bits and bobs away to make my cards etc.but I bought some teeny,tiny lovely glittery stars for 'The Wedding' card :O)
Last time I was in store I got talking to someone who was in the middle of making her (shh) Christmas cards and her husband said,"she spends such a lot of cash making them that she should put a price on the back,like shops do" lol
I could have spent more time there so must go back soon.
Yours,Ann and Jean's scrapbooks sound interesting, I don't do those but have written a Mother's album for my Family.
Glad you're having sunshine BC I've just watered the garden,baskets etc. and now we've had a rumble of thunder, it's gone very dark, think it's gonna pour :O(
Mau, scrapbooking seemed a natural progression from card making. Because I take so many photos and didn't want them to languish (good word that!) on the computer where they are never seen, I decided to showcase them in scrap books. And, like card making and any other hobby, once started it gets a grip on you. I love it though, was never any good at drawing or painting at school, photography was the first outlet for my creative side and scrap booking allows me to be more creative.
*grins sheepishly* I forgot the *something quick for dinner* lol... and got carried away..... I have chosen R's birthday prezzie... his birthday is next month... and bought loads of stuff... some was just for fun, other stuff was what was on my list... which I couldn't find... it's in my bag, somewhere, lolol
Mau... when I have finished these pages (I have started 3 now, but the others I have to wait for stuff to arrive for me to finish) I'll feel as though I am getting somewhere.
I have dug out my uncompleted patchwork throw, though, so will finish that off this winter.... I started it when his nibs went to Gulf War 1, lol and although the colours are a bit old fashioned and 90's, I still like them, and will put it on the spare bed...... it is nice and bright and cheerful.
Well.... best I go and do some cooking then, lol... he's ok for a while, checking his e-mails.... he has a weeks' worth... which reminds me... must go and have a look in mine!!
What a busy lot you are, Daff, and all, with your craft work. I haven't had a chance to do anything like that for ages with Mr Moaner around, can't have stuff out or he would knock it over, this house is soooo tiny - no room to do anything, the kitchen is ridiculous, we have had larger ones in holiday lets we have stayed in lol I am a whiz at balancing stuff when I am trying to dish up meals, and of course with the computer being on the dining table in the dining part of kitchen/diner we have to eat on tv tables in the lounge - that's a silly little room too, a through room from front door to kitchen and patio rear doors. You can't even get in through the back here, he has it so it only locks from the inside and the gate to the garden is bolted and high, so what with a suite and a small coffee table and the tv unit etc there is no space for doing much at all without it being knocked when he comes in at night with his pannier bags off his bicycle, or if you come in with bags of groceries etc.
Enjoy doing more on the patchwork, Daff, what memories that will evoke.
take care all, BC enjoy those littleuns, what a great excuse to go to a circus, having youngsters to share the fun with.
