Well, slow on this thread today.

We decided to take ourselves into Cheltenham as we had nothing else to do. Had a good wonder round and bought a few things then had Tapas for lunch with a glass of wine so a very pleasant morning, got home about 1.30.

Better get on with some scrapping now then.

I wanna thcream and thcream and make mythelf thick... well, thicker, anyway!!

I have been struck by a Trojan, coming in on the back of a Windows update....... plus a zillion (oh, alright then, 13!!) viruses... it has taken me all morning to sort it... I have ended up deleting loads of programmes cos I didn't want to take a chance..

Have just stuck new backing onto photo.... and a photo of the ball pool onto one of the circles I didn't like, but looks good with that..... the clouds are perfect, but I now want to print some words off to stick on them that's when the pc froze on me, lol)... and want to cut out a series of shapes in felt and thick chunky paper to put photos of the toys onto...... I think it might be overkill.... and I have probably been watching too much Mr Maker (Ceebeebies, lol) but it is bright, cheerful, and child appropriate, lol.... how she'll view it when she is 21, heaven alone knows!! And this is just the first page...... there are at least two more to follow just for this visit alone ;¬))

Car is now back from the car hospital.... well, what a lotta pennies she has eaten up, lol!! 2nd Mortgage on the way, methinks..... what with that and all the hobbies I am taking up... we'll have an empty larder at this rate... that's ok, though, cos I'll be too busy to eat, lolol

Ann, the throw only has the last row to be attached and quilted, it is a full sized one, if I remember (it's still in the pillowcase I stuffed it into!) but that is when I started working full time at the school... and doing 25 hour shifts meant that I wasn't home a lot... my spare time was all taken up with walking the dogs, and digging up lawns... long story, but it became a family joke and the BIA's nightmare, lol

Oh.... and dinner was.... mince and onions new potatoes, green beans and mixed veg... followed by a mini magnum.... so not too bad, after all, lol!

Vicky, I hope you have a wonderful, carefree day... my dad likes to do that, too.....

Maz, how lovely.... he sounds lovely.... Aw Gizmo!! My Polgara is grey and white..........

Liz, that sounds like a couple of the houses I have lived in... this one was very small, even though it has 4 bedrooms, the kitchen and dining room were tiny... they have been knocked in to make one long galley type half finished kitchen.... it was building the conservatory that gave us all the extra room we needed... it is slowly evolving into my activity room, lol But as it looks out over the garden, it suits me fine.

Right................ I have a glass of nice red wine, ....... the sun will be over the yard arm somewhere in the world, lol!! I am off to glue, stick and enjoy, lolol!!

Have a lovely day, everyone.

Good Morning everyone!!

That was good, Maz, getting both of them onto the same bed so quickly!! I'd love another couple of babies.... I watch Polgara, and although she is happy and healthy enough, she is getting on, and some days she creaks a bit more than others...... and Rosy is only 2 years younger than her but she at least still climbs and doesn't seem to be stiff and achy yet.

*Glares at mouse and keyboard* they have decided to throw sulks and hissy fits on me... they keep sticking.... I forgot the new batteries for them on Friday, as well, Doh!

The weather here seems a bit dull... and it was very cold, I have switched the heating on as well. I am not sure what the agenda is for today........ garden chores, I expect. A lot of the roses are starting to get blackspot again.... I got rid of it earlier... does it come from damp weather? I know it spreads itself around, so will keep a careful eye... I don't want to spray if I can help it... anyone know if there is an organic and gentle to insects way of getting rid of it?

See you later.... love to everyone, and have a wonderful Sunday, however you spend it.

We never manage to completely get rid of black spot Daff, I don't think there is a foolproof way.

Think we are going to the old cattle market this morning, me to browse in homesense and see what I can find to spend my pennies on (they sometimes do craft stuff as well Lol!! T will be off to B&Q for some bits and we can have coffee in Costa Coffee.

Enjoy your day Ann..... it is clouding right over now, so I think we are going to have rain.....

Oh...... and I have googled paper-making.......... loads of info, but it does look very messy................................................ *sigh* I get messy even with non-messy tasks.... imagine what I'd be like with messy ones, lol!

Sunny and warm here today but with a stiff breeze. T is out pruning off yet more growth from everything that has dared to sprout since the last bin collection.

In the end we went to Costa Coffee in the old cattle market for a change this morning and went for a look around Home sense. They don't always have the same stock but seem to have all sorts of odds and ends. I got a 12x12 and an 8x8 scrap book £6.99 and £4.99 good value, not the same as the ones I have but the smaller one is Papermania with an antique type gatefold cover, oh, and two cushions for the lounge, six glasses to replace our old G&T glasses which were cheap and are marked now, a little first knitting set to put in S's Christmas box, a glass candle holder for daughter's christmas box. I save bits all year for her present, she doesn't have one big present as she can afford to buy things for herself. Somehow we spent £50.

Well..... double sided sticky tape is not a success in this household!!

1...... couldn't separate easily cos I still have clumsy fingers

2...... when it did separate, it wrapped itself around said clumsy fingers

3...... it doesn't stick felt.

So.... I used glue... loads of it...... I am not entirely happy, but it looks ok for a first attempt... just has to dry now... that'll take a week, I think!

Ann, they were just building on the old cattle market, I think.... I have a feeling that the first store just opened as I left.... did it open before the car park was completed?? It feels strange to think of a shopping area being there... well, apart from the couple that were there..... I used to get the dog food from that petshop there when I had both the dogs.

Sister and niece arrived for an hour or so earlier... she was impressed with my handiwork, but I had cleaned most of the debris by then, lol.

I am almost ready for bed, lol....... I know it is early... but I am shattered! R is cooking dinner (lamb steaks, lots of veg and roasties) so I shall have to eat that before I sneak off......

Double sided tape varies, sometimes it separates easily others not. You are sticking it on one surface before you try to separate it aren't you Daff.

Hi Maz, I expect it is a way of them bonding. Not sure whether there are not more nutrients in kitten food though, I can't find any advice on this in my cat book. All it says is that kittens under four months should be fed five or six times a day reducing to four a day then at six months to two a day. meals should be lifted after 10 minutes. It also says that cats by nature do not over eat. I guess you need to watch that Gizmo is getting his fair share of the food.

Mazfromnorf Report 24 Aug 2009 08:34

thanks ann he is a pattern of food .i leave dried out for the older one so Gizmo gets his share when he is out ,the vet was feeding them twice and doing this so perhaps that is wet food they mean will watch and see what happens I will keep both types in then and give baby some of his when Tramp is out

Morning all....

yep, Ann........ but I did try it the other way first... peeling both sides... got into just as big a mess... I have two different makes... my word, it's expensive, isn't it? I have just glued on the finishing touches... probably overkill, but heck, I quite like it this morning!! I have taken some photos... I'll send one in a mo..... when I have got it off my camera and into the only programme I have so far managed to attach photos from, lol.... can't seem to attach them from Picasso, it doesn't give it as an option, as far as I can see.

Maz... at 9 weeks, Gizmo should be ok on the older cat food... but kitten food is more heavily packed with the proteins he'll need. I found it very hard to wean Hermie off the kitten stuff, but Jethro will eat anything I put in front of him... and a lot he can steal as well! However, Gizmo should still be on more than two feeds a day... three would be better, if that can be managed, until he is about 12 weeks old, minimum, or is beginning to manage the dried food you leave down... he'll chomp on that by then if he gets hungry, but he still probably will find it a bit difficult to chew on them at the moment.... they will really help when his teeth start to drop out, though! All my cats now have two sachets each one in the morning one in the evening, and there is always a big dish full of dry to munch on if they get hungry. With that.... two of the neighbouring cats also manage to do a minesweep of any left overs.... two of mine are gannets, two are pickers! It sounds like they are settling in nicely together!

Jean, the felt is for the matting (is that what you call it?) I wanted a sort of Playschool craft session effect.... and didn't have the chunky backing paper in the colours I wanted, then spied the felt!! My next project is the garden ones....... I have no idea how I am going to do that, but I know what effect I want to achieve!! Always more ambitious than the skills I have, lol.

Well, it's a bit grizzly here..... and it suits my mood, lol... I have a double dental appointment at 11.15, to start work for a new crown. *gulps*

Will just pop around and have a looksee on the boards, then go and get ready for the torture chamber, lolol

Wonder how BC is? Poor dab is probably happy but exhausted now!

Havoc I daren't go to that show, I would end up broke!!!

To lift the top layer of double sided I use a small scalpel tool, in fact I also use that for lifting peel offs. I rarely have a problem with the tape though.

Yoo Hoo.... I am back.... what a lovely man that dentist is.... didn't hurt a bit, and the nurse used that sucky thing very gently so I didn't feel as though I was gagging and going to drown, lol........

Oh.... and I gave Hobbycraft a miss *polishes halo* ............................. we have a new Dunelm here.... and they have a lovely little craft section, lolol

Ann, I would love to go!! I have never been to the NEC.... but think if I went so close to Christmas, there would be no money left for the turkey and sprouts, lolol

Havoc.... I was just born awkward, lol.... I have always been a bit awkward, although I have to say my hand stitching and smocking were extremely good when I was younger! I must look out for a £1 shop here.

I wonder where my stitch pickers are.... I have two of them... they would do the trick, I imagine!

Now..... what shall I do next? We are right out of bread, so I suppose I ought to go and do that! Yuk!! I am not so keen on that sort of shopping.

See you later

I should take up scrapbooking just to see what all you lot are on about, but probably not a good idea. I have plenty of 'junk' that must be sorted and tossed, or perhaps I could send it your way? Also with having to visit hubby every 2nd day (too exhausting every day) my days are pretty full, and now I am thinking of rejoining choir since they have finally decided to do a piece that I wanted them to do years ago. Miserable blighters waiting until I was out of choir. They cant get rid of me that easily, though I might not stay for the full 2 hours tonight and might skip some practices until things settle down more for me.
