Afternoon all.... sun is shining brightly here.... and I have at last managed to get back online... there are three of us in this house all with pc-withdrawal symptoms, lolol

R is currently filling in my tax thingy online...... I haven't worked or had any income since 2005!! Still they send the paperwork to me.... they did say they had it sorted, and I wouldn't have any more.... but lo and behold! I had a reminder last week.

Hope everyone is well, and enjoying the weekend,

Love

Afternoon all, snow has all gone here thank goodness.
Took Ed up the hospital yesterday to have his body brace tweeked, 5 minute job took 3 hours !!!!!!! l was not a happy bunny and he still hasn't done it properly so have to take Ed to the workshop at St. Marys hospital on Monday (thankfully just round the corner from where we live) to get it done again.
I am coping quite well doing this nursing lark but am lucky that l've got a good patient, lol.
Sorry to hear your putors poorly daff perhaps you'd let me look after it , ha ha .
Ann was so nice of you to worry about Daff, lets hope she does as she told in future, lol.
BC hope your meal turned out ok.
Hope you all have a good weekend, am going to have a look at some more threads as no dinner to cook tonight we are having Chinese. xxx

The other day l uninstalled AVG 9 because l had a number of probs, one being l could'nt click on repl button on here, others were if l clicked on the minus buttin to take a window away, all it would do was leave a blank white space ontop of the open window l had behind it....hope you understand what l mean?? To clear that l have to click on the arrow top left to go back a page.
So l re installed AVG and mosy of the probs went, but they are back again!!! grrrr

Just a few pages left to read, then its on its way to you. l now have the DVD......:o)))))

Jude!!!!!! you just wanted more than your fair share of space, I know!!

Daff, I assume you have now got the 'bit' for your TV which is why you are back with us.

Mummo, what a pain three hours for a five minute job, I bet Eddie was tired too waiting that log. Hope St Mary's can fix it. My cousin eas once in St Marys for a long time, not sure how long 6 months to a year, she had TB of the spine. (back in the 50s.) We used to go to St Mary's from work in the days of TB X-rays.

We have just been into town, T had a £15 voucher to spemnd in M&S, He couldn't find anything so I spent it for him Lol!!!! I gave him the cash though. Then we had lunch out and a bottle of wine which makes it difficult to type straight!!

MrDaff Report 16 Jan 2010 15:42

Right me hearties... let's see if this works, lol.... we haven't needed to buy or get a cable thingy... it seems that it might have been a simple re-wire job, ie, a jack in the wrong place at the socket... R and B's friend have done a relay troubleshoot, lol...... just finished now.. and it all seems to be a lot quicker!! Fingers crossed it works better... the other two are logged off... and logging on this time seems quicker!

Ann, I have a glass of sherry in front of me right now... I shall force it down my neck, of course, lol ;¬)) We bought some net-type curtain... a very loose weave.. to put at the living room patio door... some bits and bobs of Peppa Pig bedroom stuff ready for Littlie next week... she took the other home with her.. oh, and a baby born doll reduced from £44 to £18.... she hasn't got a proper dolly, just her soft toys which go into her pushchair... the baby born dolly has her own pushchair, too.

I also looked at cookers.... the one we are using is quite good, but very old and not very energy efficient.... it was a freebie from Freecycle, as I wasn't sure if I would like to use a built-in double oven... but I wouldn't go back to a free stand or under-hob one now... I love it!

Right... poise finger, see if we can get a shorter time than 10 minutes, lolol

Ooh... that was instant, lol... things are looking up!!

Ann....It took R 2 hours to fill in my tax form... it was jumping around so much... hopefully it will be OK now.

I also got a couple more scrapping bits... bought some *My Mind's Eye* , *Bloom and Grow* and another type of thick double-sided Card stock.... a large pack of multi-coloured A4 Card..... some embellishments in the sale.... so I have done well.... R and I will be looking at a chest of drawer thingies now that we can get online, lol.... R's idea... we need to put the chests of drawers I am using back into the little bedroom, bless him, lol

I have a wonderful image of you with Eddie's bodybrace, Mummo... the first time I used one (it was a little different to what you will be using, the one I used was called a Birmingham Splint) well. it was New Year's Eve..... and I had never seen one before..... my colleague was busy with an emergency... fortunately, I had been given a verbal run-through, so was sort of aware of what I was needing to do... fine, cept I was quite dainty then... and this young man was 6ft 3ins, and unable to assist... well, he was severely physically and learning disabled, with no formal speech... all he could do was laugh or cry!!

Suffice it to say he thought it hugely funny... and wriggled like a 2 year old, lololol..... I was exhausted, and hysterical with laughter..... but in his own way, he *helped* me, and we were triumphant.... colleague checked it before we dared to put it at 90 degrees so he could sit in his chair, lolol... and it was fine!

Jude, I do hope you don't have a problem with flooding where you are......

~~~~~~ to Maz, BC, Mamiddau and everyone else......
AnninGlos Report 16 Jan 2010 16:19
That is better Daff then. You have done well today. I bought (in M&S Outlet) A game to go in next years Christmas drawer (reduced to £3) A couple of pomanders to hang in the wardrobe (reduced to £1.99), a short sleeve thicker material nightie - pink - (reduced to £2.50), a stone coloured gillette (reduced to £5). Then I bought in the other M&S a pair of track suit (ish) trousers. I also bought a couple of craft bits reduced in the works.
Apparently M&S are moving the ladies and food departments (which are in a separate shop in another street, to the mens and underwear) into the old Woolworths store in Gloucester. The old Woolworths store was always linked to the underwear and mens departments of M&S and we have said ever since Woolworth closed that it would be the ideal situation. So that will be good. And it looks as if TK Max might then go into the vacated M&S store.
MrDaff
MrDaff Report 16 Jan 2010 17:27
Ann, I did wonder about that when Woolies closed.... remember saying that the logical thing for M & S to do would be to move the distant bit all under the same roof... I am afraid I couldn't remember which bit of M & S was in there... that means that TKMaxx moves off the high street?
Don't you just love it when you get bargains, lol...
Sounds like you have had a lovely day, Mamiddau.....aw, the day your baby goes to school is always a tearjerker!
Right.... lets get the veg on for dinner... the meat is in the oven.... chicken breasts stuffed with king prawn, stilton and dill, wrapped in smoked bacon, then parcelled in filo pastry..... vegetables, jacket potatoes and white sauce with stilton and prawns...... Jackets have been nuked in the microwave, so just need to go into the oven to crisp up. I have never done it before.... I have adapted a recipe son used a couple of weeks ago, so it'll be a surprise.
