I am about two thirds of the way of taking decorations down and exhausted already. daughter gone home now, she did offer to help but it is easier if I do it on my own as I know where it all goes. Just mainly the tree to do now.

JustGinnie Report 3 Jan 2010 14:56

All our decorations are down now and everything put away. Tuesday the gr/children go back to school and I shall hopefully be able to have a good go at the jobs i have put off while they have been here, unless I find something more interesting to do of course lol.
I have a few birthday cards to make and I want to do a bit more family tree stuff on my side as I am now fed up with my in-laws, lol, they have been much easier to find than mine.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

MrDaff Report 3 Jan 2010 15:15

Afternoon everyone... what another beautiful day... I haven't needed any heating in the conservatory at all, for about the third day running... it is gorgeous!

Jean, you must have needed the sleep..... I do that sometimes... we are having Roast beef, yorkshires etc... but not until about 5 ish... the meat is already cooked, all veg is prepared, so it won't take long... we are waiting for the Sky engineer, as we are having Sky HD installed.

Ann, you have been busy!! It is nice getting the house back, isn't it? Even though we miss them.... it is still nice.

Mummo, enjoy your roast out......I love eating out, but OH isn't that keen, and I tend to have to beg a bit to be taken, lolol, which takes half the fun out of it, to be honest. But he does cook a lot at home, so I can't grumble, really, and he also clears up after himself... after me, too! Give our love to Eddie.

Ginnie, I am very easily sidetracked, lol..... I really must get down to some serious messing around... I have scrapbook pages to complete, photos to edit, dead rellies to find, a novel to write and some more culling of all the stuff I have been collecting over the years.... in case it comes in handy, lololol!!

Half the decs are down, packed and put away... all the wall decs, table decs, candles etc etc... only the two trees to do now... I shall start those tomorrow, as there are hundreds of baubles between the two of them... and 11 sets of lights altogether, lolol Oh, and I have put another set up.... I left the ones up in the conservatory... they are coloured lights and I love the cheerfullness of them... but I found some more in B & Q just before Christmas.... they are LED, but have little wicker balls... so they weren't exactly Christmassy. We have no ceiling light in the conservatory, just wall lights.... and a couple of table lamps... we can't use candles cos of the cats.... so the soft lights are perfect...

Maz, do you have tomorrow off as well? ~~~~~

Right... I am off for a quick shower... I am full of glitter!! lol (what's new there then????)

Love

Well, all down except the cards I will do them later, and the floral decorations which don't take long. Tomorrow they will go up in the roof, there are so many boxes can't face it today, and then we will clean up. Once it is tidy Daff it will be fine but just now it is a mess and looks drab. and there is a sense of nothing (except dentist Tuesday) to look forward to. Really don't like January, no doubt once the dentist is done with I will be fine!!!

AnninGlos Report 3 Jan 2010 16:57

Morning Maz, lucky you having your feet done today..I have to wait until Wednesday:-)

Lovely, very cold, morning again, and once more I got up late. There is something about Sunday but I never sleep well!

So all the decs, lights and tinsel have come down...how bare the place always looks afterwards. I am still in my clear up mode but now I seem to be taking things down and putting them back...in another place! lol

Off to the park. Have a good day everyone:-)

Morning all... the sun is shining, the frost is glinting, me bones is aching, lolol.... I shall probably have to hit the big gun painkillers in a bit, but have the heating engineer coming this afternoon, and I shall be giggling like a drunken schoolgirl if I have those, lol... the Sky engineer came last night, and we now have SkyHD... but I can't remember what else goes with it, lolol!!

R is back at work proper today....... he has toddled off with a full lunchbox, plus a tin of Quality St for his colleagues... he gave me such a look when I asked if he had an apple for teacher as well.... *clutches chest dramatically* lolol

I have to do a *normal* T***o shop online today... you know, the boring stuff like soap powder, domestos, etc etc..... I have enough soap powder for just two more loads of washing, and I know that B has that amount waiting to go in.... he changed his bedding yesterday...... well, it's the best excuse ever for not doing the washing, isn't it?

I am about to dismantle the tree in the conservatory.... that'll take an hour or two, or five, lol

See you all later

Love

Well clear up day today, just about to get stuff up in the loft, T has done the ironing, another load in the washing machine almost done. Then floors to clean and dusting to do, then monthly household accounts. Plenty to do today to keep mind off tooth out tomorrow ugh!!

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 4 Jan 2010 13:55

Ann.... how did I miss that? You are having a tooth out? Is that the one that has been hurting/bleeding and you had the antibiotics for? Oh dear, poor you... I know how you hate the dentist as well.... and your temporary one has left, hasn't she? Is it morning or afternoon, your appointment? I shall think of you while you are there xxxxxxx

I don't have any hurty bits now, by the way...... but I am wurring my slurds a bit, lololol ;¬)) Those Oxycodone are very very good!

The conservatory tree is mostly down... son is rummaging around in the loft for the boxes.... we have sat and had brunch, and sorted the world out while we were having it..... so he will be more helpful for a week or so, lolol

I must try and find the telephone number of the hairdresser I used before I was diagnosed.... the one I have been using is very good, but is miles away, on the other side of Cardiff.. I used to go and have a cuppa or lunch or whatever with my sister, who lives around the corner..... but she is at work now that she has finished her training... very inconsiderate of her, don't you think? lol

Jean, do you have anywhere in particular that you fancy for your holiday? We are staying at home.... I would prefer that, to be honest... but will go and stay for a few days in the Blackpool area... we'll possibly stay with son if his spare room is sorted, but his ex has more space and wants us to go there, which is really kind of her... but we shall probably stay in the hotel just down the road from them... it is very nice there, we have stayed there a few times. I would also like to go to Devon..... to Torquay, and also to Wollacombe as I have dead rellies buried in churchyards there, lol..... I shall look and see what I can book up, in fact, I might do that when I have finished this post!!

Maz do your feet feel wonderful??? I used to love it when I had my feet done.... well, after they were finished to be more precise, as I am not all that keen on my feet being messed around with, lolol! But afterwards was bliss for a good few days.....

BC, everything looks so drab and dismal after all the decs come down, doesn't it? It is a beautiful day here.... very crisp and cold, but brilliant sunshine, so it is warm in here........ I have been able to turn all the heating off again, which is good.

Right..... off to look for holiday homes, hotels etc etc......

Love

AnninGlos Report 4 Jan 2010 14:07

Hi Daff, I did mention it a couple of days ago. I had sort of adjusted to going tot he dentist while Libby was here as she is so understanding and patient. But I have not had a large back tooth out since 1959 and I have not got a clue what the replacement dentist is like so I am really a bag of nerves over it and wake up in a sweat at night thinking about it. The appointment is 11.20 tomorrow morning. And, yes it is that tooth.

glad you have dulled the hurty bits and that B is helping with the tree dismantling. Ours is all finished now and cleaned and dusted, don't the decs mak everything dusty? Luckily with the sun shining it doesn't all look too drab. Can see that it maybe needs a lick of paint though.

We have now got a week booked end of March to go with daughter and her OH to Andalus(c)ia, I am looking forward to it as I have always wanted to go to that area. Then we have a month in Tenerife in May.

Mau, I can see you behind that huge pile, OH did ours this morning but there is another load waiting for him now!!

JustJean Report 4 Jan 2010 17:38

To answer your question Daff re hols. we cant book anything yet,J has a 12 month check up end of Jan and another check up 4th Feb, when we get the results , no doubt we shall have a look, I fancy Norfolk or the Wye valley. J would like to go to Italy. , so would I but the insurance is the bother... we will go to Llandudno at some time during the year no doubt....we go into Blackpool as a day out ,we get there in a hour or so, we usually go to St Annes first then onto Blackpool we are well situated for many quick trips out, and do a lot of picnics if the weather is good, its good to try and plan something, nice to look forward to....J has just made corned beef hash, he is great at making it.... flattery gets me every where..
....lol....
love Jean xx.

Morning Daff and hope your hurty bits are better today. *waves to Maz trying to shovel her way out of the house and hope Gizmo is enjoying the snow! Good luck with the dentist today, Ann, and hope our Mau has finished the ironing and can leave the house soon...tsk tsk..they say the snow is coming our way today, I must buy more salt.

I had a moment of extasy when I got into bed last night. which I haven't had for a long time! lol Have been forced to buy an electric blanket for the first time in years so it must be cold as usually it never bothers me. What bliss!

Am up late again so have to rush off. Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone....it is freezing here.... the ice is an inch thick over the cats water *bowl* ....the plastic trolley thingy that I use to cart gardening stuff around, useless at what it is intended for, but the cats drink from it all the time, lol

And there is no sunshine *sobs*

The gas engineer has been and gone... I thought it was yesterday, but nope, it is today.... just the annual service, and all is ok, he has replaced the fan, just in case, but he said that although the boiler is 15 years old, it is a very reliable one and should last for as long as spare parts are available.... and they are still very available at the moment, so all is well for a while, at least.

BC... I haven't used an electric blanket for years, not since we lived in Cyprus... believe it or not, the nights could get very cold in the winter, and the houses were all marble floors etc, so geared for the hot weather..... brrrrrrrrrrr!!! It was bliss snuggling into a nice warm bed....... these days, I have jersey cotton on the bed, and the memory foam mattress.... no heating in the bedroom.... and that is lovely and snuggly to climb into, as well.

Good luck at the dentist today, Ann...... I'll be thinking of you. It's bad enough when you trust the dentist, but when it is a new one...... yuk! Just think of your holiday in Andalucia (sp)... that'll cheer you up! I would love that, but not this year, lolol

I have put the living room tree lights on, for a last bit of a dispplay before the dismantling begins... I always feel so sad when I do that, silly, I know

Maz it is freezing...... what a day to start back to work! The first day back after Christmas and New Year is always a bit flat, I found.... it always took a couple of days to get back into my stride.

Jean, Hope your corned beef hash was good... we always have that if we are both a bit down... R calls it nursery food, lolol.... but it is ver comforting. Strange thing is, we never had it as children in my family..... but I still find it comforting.

My DiL works in Blackpool..... son works in Warton, but my Granddaughter has never seen the illuminations.... we shall take her this year, I hope.

*smiles hopefully at Mau* Do you fancy some more ironing? I only have a little bit... just these three tops of mine, and 7 shirts of R's, lolol

Right.... must go and get on... quick dash around the boards, and then off to take the big tree down and then do a bit of swearing to clear up all the tinsel and glitter........ in fact, must check whether my cleaner has a new bag tucked away, cos this one is full full full!!

Love to everyone

Well that is that done and dusted, also had a deep clean on the same side so was in there absolutely ages and came out £80 worse off!!! The cleaning was actually more stressful than the extraction really as it was a long time with her in my mouth!!! She seems fine, Asian but English if you know what I mean, very pleasant, very patient, about 30 I would say. Just got to hope it stops bleeding properly now.

Snowing here now, very cold wind, large flakes but quite wet so not really settling (laying or sticking whichever phrase you use). Got enough food in if it does snow so wont be going out.

Daff, have you now got all the decs down? Ours are all up in the loft and so far I have not found one I missed. Did watch T very carefully when he was up the loft ladder, thinking of Eddie but ours is fairly safe and sturdy.

BC, haven't used an electric blanket for years, always used to have one. Don't need it now with the mattress topper, even last night I was too hot in bed.
