Poor bunny an guineas, I wouldn't like to be in a shed this weather, I hope their fur coats keep them warm Maz.

Afternoon all and great news our Daff...*throws pink cushions in air with delight!!

Am having a chuckle at Jac falling in her bedroom and not outside! Mind you twice in the last year when I have been in Ireland, I have fallen out of the bed..luckily I always throw a pillow out so I land softly:-)

Was at the cinema this afternoon and the heating went so they offered us tea or coffee (free) and if we couldnt stand the cold within 20 minutes we could have our money back!

Am off with doggie now, last slide of the night...

Great news Daff, so pleased for you ,and a lovely Dr. is a bonus.

Children back at school today but we are forecast more snow on Sunday so who knows what Monday will bring, as a family we are lucky because we live within walking distance of each other and work and I am available for childcare .(except family in NZ, now that is just a bit to far to walk lolol)

The thread is looking good after it's make over lol who needs 60 minute makeover team when we have our very own BC and Ann, take a bow ladies.lol

I have been doing some tree stuff and at long last have found out what happened to my Grt Gran after 1894 , so I have info to add to my tree.

Have a good evening everyone & keep safe and warm.

Good evening to you all. Delighted to hear you are doing so well Daff.

I think you could use a statue in your garden so here is one of 'me'. Well actually of the bird after which I am named. It is larger than life size (the birds lifesize, not mine) so we might have to move something to make room for it. I felt that the spot it had among some shrubs in the Botanic Gardens carpark was not good, I doubt if many people saw it. Please take good care of it, not too many people can say there has been a statue of them in the botanic gardens.

Huia.

Just answered you Jean!

I have just logged on very briefly.... been wrapping all the delicate glass baubles, which hadn't been done, and talking on the phone, lol!

Huia, it looks stunning!! Thank you..... how are you these days?

Jude, I am so pleased Madocis back home, and fingers crossed for him!!

~~~~~ to Ann, I am sure BC said that her roads were all nicely gritted and stuff....... *starts fretting as well*
Mummo, it is too cold... I have been leaving the heating on very low at night... I am up and down like a yo yofor pit stops at the moment... I think it is my new bp tablets... but it is freezing, so heating is on 10 to keep it a little warmer. Hope Eddie is still improving.... I hear he may be set free next week? That is brilliant!
Ginnie, I do wish I lived within walking distance of family... I live in Newport, family live the other side of Cardiff.... one son now lives with me, and his little one lives in Yorkshire... other son and his little live in Lancashire, I would love to be able to babysit more, lol
Linda, thank you... it does feel very good to be improving so well... it took a very long time, and there were some concerns at one stage, but all seems well ... every day is just so wonderful, lol
*catches pink cushions and places them on chaise lounge(sp)* BC... well, more water with the potcheen, lolol!! So..... did you have tea or coffee, was it too cold, and did you watch the rest of the film... and which film was it?? And are you back from slipsliding the streets of London... look at us, we've gorn grey with worry, lol
Maz, that sounds like a good idea... what about some bubble wrap as well? Poor creatures, this weather is dreadful for them... yours sound as though they are all snug though
Jac, I do hope you are ok? And poor hubby....*starts crocheting a nice blue truss* And of course you can be a madam, lolol
J, Mamiddau and Sallie, thank you so much.... I feel great as well, most of the time... it is nice to feel like *me* again, lol
Mau, thanks for the hugs.....
Right... off to bed in a mo... I had a nap earlier, but am ready for bed again, lol
Night all, and thanks once again for all your good wishesxxx
MrDaff Report 9 Jan 2010 09:59
Well, knock me over with ninepence.......... I am first here this morning!! Hope all is well, Maz *frets again*
It is beautifully sunny here, but very very cold... there is a good strong breeze (well, it is a gusty wind actually) that makes it even colder... I have been out to put food down for the birds... Jethro was well disgusted when he realised the pouch of cat food I was opening wasn't for him, lol....
I had to appease him with a piece of cheese. *sighs* He'll begin to expect that all the time now... I used milk just once as a bribe to make him let go of a catch... and he started to bring in even more, drop them at my side, give his milk call (a sort mmmrrrrllllkkk) and then sit in front of his milk dish... he is the only one who likes milk and we get him the special cat stuff, although Pol likes a little slurp once in a while...
I just need to shake the vacuum cleaner at the downstairs, and put a couple of loads of washing on, and then the day is my own... not sure how I want to play with it yet, though. I have kept two sets of lights from the tree out... they can be used outside, so R is going to putthem into smoker's corner, I think.
Have a wonderful day, everyone... no matter how you choose to spend it.
AnninGlos Report 9 Jan 2010 11:43
Good morning all. Decided to put the enforced stay indoors to good use instead of sitting on here for hours (it wont last of course). In the middle of tidying out what I laughingly call my filing drawer in the kitchen. That is where everything goes that need further filing plus anything that comes through the letter box, in magazines, picked up in odd corners etc that looks remotely useful. Almost got to the bottom of the drawer now and finding things from 2005, yes well they obviously were not very useful! But they might have been! Just need to find the slip of paper (the original reason for clearing out the drawer) which tells me how long you need to keep various bills, statements etc. I know I had it somewhere. Maybe in this room Hmm!!
Cold here but not as cold, no wind and the ice on the cars is melting even in the shade. I expect now I am stocked up for a siege we will get a thaw, then we will have to sort out the cracked pipe!!
Best get on.
*Sigh* I have been filling in a form from the jobcentre.... I have to explain why I think I might not be able to go out to work just yet, and why I think that I would rather not go down to the jobcentre every week or whatever... to sign on for....... wait for it............ zilch, nothing, not a brass farthing!! However, eventually, they might pay my stamp for me, which will help with a pension... of course, moving around a lot, I did rock bottom jobs quite often, and they collected no stamp.... well, they were overseas for the first few years.
Meanwhile, I have to fill out a medical form, which might mean me having to go and have a medical from one of their non-specialist medicos... which fills me with confidence, not!!
Ann... I have a drawer like that... and we have only been living here since late 2005, lolol Oh... and it is a whole chest of them ;¬))
So I am right fed up, and need to entertain myself... maybe go and see what is on the telly for the next hour or so...... or take myself back to bed... I slept very well last night, and achey bits are not so bad, just niggly, but I am sleepy tired, so a nap might do me the power of good.
Sausage casserole today, so dead simple... and all the veg is ready. I like sausage casserole done in the oven, not the slow cooker, so will put it in later... I might do some dumplings as well.... I have some fresh parsley that needs using up today.... mmmm scrummy!
Roast pork dinner tomorrow..... we had that chinese pork and noodles yesterday... it was very nice, even though I say so myself..... I prepared all the stuff, R started the cooking, and I finishe off after my nap..... teamwork is that, lolol
See you all later...
We have devilled kidneys today with stir fry veg on rice so has to be done last minute. Nearly finished said drawer, now have a load of shredding to do *sigh!
But I think I may have lunch first. Oh and I have just had toothache in the one next to the extraction, caused I think by the deep clean.
What a performance Daff from the Job centre. and surely a letter or something from your own medics would be enough for them.
MrDaff
MrDaff Report 9 Jan 2010 13:26
Ann, it is so frustrating!! It may be that I won't have to have a medical, but it is at some little administrator's discretion!!... and Top Doctor Man has said that to go back to a job that I had been doing before, on a part time basis, would be fine if my employer was ok about me just going home when the brick wall hits etc... but to start all afresh would be far too stressful... and tiring... and he has said that he will happily write and say so... I have to see the nurse on Monday... I shall make an appointment with the Doctor, I think, as well....
Just the thought of going to the job centre, or starting a new job right now, makes me feel exahausted.... better start writing that best seller, lol so... children's story, bonkbuster, or gentle wartime romance... the middle is out, I think.... I'd be soooo embarrassed at my two littlies reading it!
I have got drafts of a couple... just need the impetus to dive in and start writing it... I am so useless at introductions!!
Well... let's go and try for an hour's kip.... the bottle lorry came around, and disturbed me.....
