Afternoon all:-) It has been raining all morning but at least all the slidey stuff has melted! But to all who are still surrounded, take care. I thought I could take the day off tomorrow but no such luck... tsk...am trying to remember how I cooked my pal's favourite meal of sausages, shallots, parsnips, two kinds of mustard and honey, as I promised I would cook it tomorrow. Shall I just dump it all together and hope for the best? *waits for howls of dissent! lol

My dog refused to go out last night, she is getting fed up with our weather too!

Hope Daff and all are having a peaceful day.

Hope doggie crossed her legs then BC.

Did you maybe roast the sausages and parsnips and shallots coated in honey and mustard?

ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 14 Jan 2010 16:13

No, Ann, I remember flinging something in for the last half hour, but was it the honey or the mustard or both?? Will just have to fill the glasses and bluff it! lol BCXX

AnninGlos Report 14 Jan 2010 16:16

I would think the honey at least because any longer than half an hour and it will burn. Can you remember where you got the recipe?

ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 14 Jan 2010 16:47

It was from a very old Evening Standard. I threw all the old cuttings away in a fit of itmustbespringtime!! Think the last is the honey, I will blame you then Ann:;) lol

Hi there Mammidau, welcome to the great circle of 11 Jan birthday people. It was mine, my sons, my nieces, and until they died my mums cousin, my dads cousin, (and I think his grandson or gt grson share the day) and mums piano teacher. A very popular date. So you can consider yourself one of the Easter Egg group. (9 months before Jan is April and Easter is usually in April, which is why I consider myself an Easter Egg!)

Huia.

Morning all,
It's wet cold and very slushy here but as I am not out today I don't really mind. OH has a day off and has just gone to visit one of his friends so I am on my own for a bit. What shall I get up to?lol.

What are you all up to today?
I printed off some old photos of family this week so I want to scrap those up to put in my family history book. One of my cousins sent me one of my parents wedding that I didn't have, just Mom and Dad on their own so will do something special if I can with that.

Well enjoy your Friday everyone and take care.

Morning Ginnie
Lovely to get precious photos that we don't have isn't it? Last year I received one from a 'long=lost' cousin,of my ggrandmother who I'd never seen.
Also one of granma when she was 15 yrs.old dressed in her fishergirl clothes,I felt very emotional looking at it and seeing likeness of family members.
Have fun with your hobby and enjoy your day.

Morning all... I am having internet problems... well, the three of us are... it would seem that since having the telly switched to HD.... which is lovely, by the way!!.... it is taking up too much of our bandwidth... as we get less than 2 wotsits when most get 8, and some people in Cardiff Bay get 20!!

So..... son's friend says we need a filter (that is not what he called it, but that is what he means, I think) and he has one somewhere... so son will be going out to play later, and will collect it, if it has been found. If not, friend will write out the name of the bit so that I can order it... this guy knows his onions... he is high up in the computer-fixing department at the Welsh Assembly, lol

When I can get on.... each page takes about 10 minutes to turn.... I have been trying to get on to play since just after 10am!! I am slowly losing the will to live, and going stir crazy.... *lip trembles and tear starts to form* I was reduced to doing swearing yesterday.... *sobs loudly, sniffs, and wipes nose with sleeve*

Sister... the scary one, Ann, lol... phoned yesterday, too... conversations with her used to be very tortuous... didn't say much.... you know the sort.... long drawn out silences that one feels obliged to fill in cos they get uncomfortable!!

Anyway... she wanted to talk yesterday.... and talk..... and talk, ....... and then talk some more. She talked for 4 hours. I was exhausted... and never got to finish what I was cleaning by the time R came home... and he cooked dinner... good thing it was all prepared! And today I can't be bothered to get on with it... so the vacuum cleaner is still gracing the middle of the lounge looking all forlorn and bereft..... well, Jethro was draped over it fast asleep, so I couldn't disturb him, now, could I?

Right.... I notice Kaspersky is kicking that little ball in the corner.... it has been struggling to give me an update all day, lol.... gets to 19% then fizzles and dies! I think I'd better close down for a while... it does seem to slow everything down at the moment if there is an update of anything!

See you later

Love

Daff xxxx
