AnninGlos Report 6 Jan 2010 21:59

Well they say that in this weather the motorways are the safest roads to travel on, usually kept mainly clear and all traffic going in one direction, but I do know how you feel.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 6 Jan 2010 22:00

And yes Mau we would all worry but as BC says, what an adventure.

Mauatthecoast Report 6 Jan 2010 22:13

Grandson had his long hair cut today,shortest we've ever seen it!..but he does suit it (there will be no hot water or even much water,)where he's going, so easy to deal with and probably fresher in the heat.

Certainly an adventure!

*bounces onto thread followed by professional decorating team (glares sweetly at BC) armed with swathes of material, pots of paint and other erm, stuff)* Right..... this thread needs a lick of paint and a dust down.....

OOOOH look... an aspidistra... I love them!! *adds rubber plant and triffid so Aspy won't be lonely*

Aw Bless... look at that.... Peppa Pig's great granny's long lost portrait, what on earth was your Aunt Fanny doing with it? OMG she never.... no!!! she never ate gt Granny, did she?????... were you hiding that in your cupboard under the stairs, BC? It looks rather good there, don't you think? * discreetly covers with photo of Simon*

Mau, goodness, what an adventure for your grandson..... you'll hardly recognise him when he gets back... they mature so quickly. I agree, though, we can't help worry about them... we are programmed to do it!! I hope he has a wonderful time... I am sure he will.

Maz, the same here.... more schools are off today than yesterday.. because of the ice... it al looks rather beautiful and Snow Queenish, I have to say.... I kept the heating on low last night, it was so cold... turned it down to 15. Enjoy the day off!!

~~~~~~~~~ to Ginnie and Linda.... beautiful sunshine here today, but very cold.
Jude, my word, doesn't time go quickly? Your littlie was just a baby when I started to post.... well, I think she had just been born when I started to *look in* first of all.... it feels such an age ago.
I watched next door's young dog out in the snow yesterday... he was sooooo funny... he is about 2, I think... a bit younger than my two boys.... and is a very big but playful breed... wire haired German Pointer.... fabulously friendly and playful, but a lolloping heap in the snow, lol... he loved it! The lads were throwing snowballs for him.... he retrieved them so delicately, and was quite puzzled when they disintegrated in his mouth, lolol... or when he couldn't find them at all, lolol
Ann, I hope your mouth is loads better today.... is T still home, no golf? R is.... helping (?) of course, lolol ;¬)) I am not sure if R is off tomorrow... I did say that I would be a big girl and go on my own again, lol..... but I am being a wuzz now... but if this snow and ice has cleared, he ought to go in, really, I suppose.... they have been so good to us!
Right... off to have a wander around the boards...... see you all later!
Love
Daff xxxxx
Hi, the main road sound as if they are OK here Daff, not been out so can't guarantee it. we have food to last until the weekend, well if necessary we have food to last longer than that but could need bread or bread flour and maybe milk and potatoes by then. have unfortunately run out of rice as we had it at the weekend and SiL used it all up and not been shopping since. Plenty of pasta though. it isn't the roads we are concerned about but walking on the stuff, really don't want any broken wrists or ankles.
Well, yes T is orf golf so has done the i*****g and I have sworn at the bedroom, he has made coffee and is now at his PC, no doubt he will be looking for something to help me with in a minute when he gets bored!
I suppose the photo of Simon is marginally an improvement on the pig!! Don't know though! Glad you like the aspidistra. Where is BC this morning, hope she is OK?
Now Daff, do be a good girl today Lol!!!!
Good morning Mummo, hope the roads are OK for you and Eddie is also OK.
i'm geting excited to find out how your interior is going to look lol pink & gold mebbe?
We had about three inches more of snow last night and now it's frozen solid. Jusy been in back garden to clear away for birds and put their food out,how DO they survive?poor things.Sun is shining so hopefully there'll be a thaw.
Not heard from travellers yet. Grandson will have an adventure for sure (he was on FB before he left saying goodbye to friends and laptop lol ) his 19 yr old cousin,OH's niece, is also flying out tomorrow to do volunteer work in East Africa.
We hear so much on media etc. about our young folk but there are lots who are good,kind kids!
ButtercupFields
ButtercupFields Report 7 Jan 2010 14:35
pmsl...Ann I am not sure what I meant with the peeling trompe wotsit! Hope your tooth is better today and you have cleared the snow from outside your door. *shines halo...I appear to be the only one on my street to scatter salt all over...
Yes, I think you may be right. Daffy, secretly, loves her new decor. Wait till she goes on 'proper' holidays, we can do lots more. Have just had soup, salad and a mug of tea in the nice mug TW gave me. and just slithered my way home....
