Be nice to see her front too BC. Anyway, it does seem to have been a flying visit as she didn't return. Don't do too much now. Speak later toast is calling and we have a new cusion floor to collect and lay in the kitchen *groans!!!

MrDaff Report 31 Oct 2009 09:07

Morning all... got bounced back off again, so gave up and went to bed, lolol

It seems slightly faster this morning...... Laying cushion flooring sounds very energetic!!

R was supposed to have some time off, and we would finish the kitchen, but he has been very busy at work, and now that has eased off, he has got another busy spell coming up... so don't know when he'll have time off again :¬((

BC.... now don't you go wearing yourself out!

I feel a little *muggy and fuggy* this morning, but otherwise ok... so far no cough, which is a huge bonus for me!! And the blood spots around my eyes and face have almost gone now... it looked like I had been attacked by an angry hairbrush, lolol

I am off later to get my new specs from T****o... they phoned yesterday to say they were ready.... so hopefully I won't get seasick any more when I am reading census and suchlike, lolol

It is lovely here at the moment... it poured down in the night, but it has woken up with a lovely sunshiney smile... the sun filtering through the half bare trees at the back, all reds and golds, and dappling all over the conservatory is breathtaking... and the little droplets on all the plants make the garden appear like a fairy grotto... it is so beautiful.
See you all later, and make sure you have a lovely day.

Aha Ann, the old ones are the best! lol Just back from the park, it's constant drizzling but they are getting the vintage cars revved up and organized for the London to Brighton Run tomorrow. So beautiful, those cars!

Right, off to the west end.....

Tata for now:-))

AnninGlos Report 31 Oct 2009 09:40

ooh I love the old cars, bit worrying though when we can say 'we had one of those!!' Always have to go and look at them at shows etc.

Daff, got any Olbas oil for the muggy fuggy bits? Don't wear your new glasses on the way home will you? I am sure I am not telling you anything new but they will feel strange at first.

He has gone in my car to fetch the cushion floor, I am not sure it is going to get in it, if not it will be £35 to deliver (and they wanted £45 to lay it!!!! Later on when the air is blue I might be wishing I had overuled himself on this!!!

Anyway, if you see blue smoke over Gloucester way you know where it is coming from. Must go and empty the fridge which has to be moved into the dining room.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 31 Oct 2009 10:23

Well he got it home and it is indoors, we've moved the fridge/microwave etc and now I am off out to fetch the papers!

He got most of the old stuff up while I was round the shops and taking my shoe box to the collection point, you should see the huge pile of boxes. I helped get the bits up from under the washing machine, I tugged while he lifted. Next comes the hard bit, I have to go and help pull it into position. This is where I get shouted at (well I usually do). And I thought I was relatively clean but you should see (or maybe not) the bit that was under the oven behind the kick board and under the washing machine!!!!

Afternoon all~~~,
Yes this is really me! Nuisance is back LOL!
You have new specs then Daff? If they are verifocal(?) just be carefull, when I had mine I was told to "look down my nose".....I always do at other people!LOL, now I ask you, but thats the way they work! so I always have a pain in my neck when I,ve been on here too long!
wishing you all a happy halloween, (I'll be ignoring the door tonight)!

MrDaff Report 31 Oct 2009 15:18

Hello stranger, so lovely to see you back.... these are new type varifocals, with no defined line, and no need to *look down yer nose* cos my neck and back would be very sore after a while... will let you know how I get on with them..... but I wear them most of the time, or that is the intention... so will not lose them so easily.... as I do now... Ann will testify to that cos she has been my specminder already, lolol

Ann, I will believe anything, lol... I remember how horrified I was when I pulled my built in unit out, when we first moved back here... it hadn't been done for years... it was all screwed in etc etc.... but somehow or another,,,, yukkety yuk!! It was so disgusting behind there!

Have you got your floor sorted yet?? Have a couple of sly slurps if you haven't, lolol........ that'll make it easier, and if it doesn't, you won't care, lololol!!

Lino is down, fridge/microwave back in place himself is lying on the kitchen floor swearing because he can't get the kick boards to go back properly. Tomorrow is a trip to the dump to get rid of the old stuff.

Well, yes, at least I don't think you can lose them if they are on your nose Lol!!!!

Sssh BC, he/she has probably gone now. Did you get the Baileys? If so have a couple and the mouse will disappear.

OH has just arranged to play golf on Monday at an away game. Soooo we have had the 'if your foot hurts afterwards there is going to be absolutely NO sympathy.

mum is very well and the weather was brilliant very warm but its dark and very wet today will catch up soon, well try too !!so hope you have all been OK maz xx

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 1 Nov 2009 09:14

It'll take another week for you to read them all, Maz, lol.... pleased you had a lovely time, and that your mum is well.

Ann........ wmsl!! Poor T..... I've just done the same with R... he is moaning and groaning about achey bits, and not getting much sleep at night (he seems to be able to lie in for Britain, though!) but..... he says his mattress is fine... and it clearly isn't... it has one of the springs totally gone, just about where his lower back should be supported. I can't believe he can't see that there is anything wrong with it... so I over-ruled him and ordered him a memory foam one yesterday, on e-bay... it'll be here Monday or Tuesday. We have a superkingsized bed.... but our mattresses are single, continental size... and I could only find one supplier.... the one I bought mine from isn't on there now... well, they are, but the website won't play!

I have been having loads of problems with my pc... so last night, we shut it down, and R and I re-vamped it... I hadn't got on well with Opera, and it was the site I deleted a while ago because it had downloaded a virus.... anyway, I now have Firefox... and it is playing very nicely! I have cleaned out all my caches, and this morning will go into all my regular sites and re-set the passwords, and save them into Bookmarks.... it is such a relief to have a puter that wants to play with me, lol.... R was on the point of getting me a new one!!

Oh, and I learned something new, too.... that I can save all the log-in pages of all my e-mail addies, onto Bookmarks, too.... and R showed me how to have more than one thingy up at a time... poor Susan with numbers has explained it to me so carefully, more than once... but I just didn't get it... R showed me, and then made me do it a couple of times, so I am a very happy bunny, lol!

BC.... I do hope that poor wee mouse has gone........ it knew the weather was about to change, I expect, and was looking for a nice warm bed for the night with someone who will be kind to him, lolol

Love to you all

AnninGlos Report 1 Nov 2009 09:33

good morning, it is a nasty morning here, wet and very windy and I think we have to go to the dump!!!! And B&Q Wow!! 2 of my favourite places in one morning!

Daff Well done for sorting out your PC, I like Firefox, so far it has been kind to me.

Not sure I understand what you mean about e mail thingies, could you elucidate (in words on one syllable please) so that I can see if it is something I need to do!!!!

Maz, welcome back, glad you had a good week.

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 1 Nov 2009 09:55

Sorry, Ann.... will try and get a bit more technical, lolol... where the e-mails are concerned, I have to faff around digging out all the addresses, passwords etc etc..... I have a few addresses, some I use for *formal* things, and based on my real life name...... and others for my cyberworld alter ego, lol... who is rapidly becoming *me* lol

I didn't realise that if you go into each one, and do the log-in... it will save it to bookmarks for you, if you want... so that you don't have to keep digging out the books and bits of paper/backs of envelopes etc that you have written the details in/on. I have a couple of accounts I use purely for internet shopping... that means that I can happily delete them if I get anything dodgy on them. When I am doing the trawl of insurance/phone/fuel etc stuff... I always use a throw away e-mail... otherwise you get inundated with e-mails!

As for the other *thingy* it is about the pages you are using... I didn't realise it was possible to have two pages side by side, or whatever...... so I have started to play with that! It will certainly make researching the tree easier!

It is blowing a gale, here, too... damp, windy and miserable!

Enjoy your trip out!!

Love

Daff xxxxx
