Yes ladies it is tonight that the clocks go back. So then we have the dark winter evenings with us.
Can you guess I hate winter?

Linda :o)

AnninGlos Report 24 Oct 2009 09:52

Daff, good morning, hope you are not doing too much.

mamiddau Report 24 Oct 2009 14:50

Afternoon all!!! its actually stopped raining....although now I have typed this am sure it'll start again! lol! H and OH are at the football, am catching up with my programs and getting frustrated with my ancestors.....O has had a little snooze, hopefully he has woken up as happy boy, not the little so and so he was earlier!!!!!

hope everyone is well, feet, faces and everything in between healing!!! xxxx

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 24 Oct 2009 16:27

*sobs loudly* my littlie has gone home... she was quite distressed and wanted to take me and OH with her, lolol... they left about 1, but I have just finished putting all her toys away, R stripped her bed, and re-made it so that when B gets back it doesn't look as though we have wiped her room clean of her... I find that hardest!! R is also out at Asda getting the weekend shopping in..

It is sooooo quiet... no CBeebies... no *Mine help loo Buddy* whenever I do anything..... I keep listening out for her. She was an absolute delight yesterday... clearly over whatever ailed her.... and this morning was non-stop chattering!! I shall miss her soooo much. :¬(( Still... she'll be back in just over 3 weeks :¬)))

Maz, have a lovely week away at your mum's........ they'll all miss you, son as well, lol

BC... how is your face today? I hope it is healing nicely.

Hiya Ann... are you still frazzled? lol They are such babies, and then won't listen to good common sense. My dad is dreadful.... however, if he hasn't been to the GP, I withhold all sympathy... work on the principal, "if it is that bad, get it sorted!! If you won't get it sorted, then please quit whinging about it, and kindly stop limping in front of me" wmsl....

Mamiddau........ while I have been typing this, we have had fierce wind, followed by torrential rain... and now the sun is coming out!! My garden is under about 6 inches of leaves... ~~~~~~~ to O xx

~~~~~ to Jean... where are you off galivanting this time? Anywhere nice?
~~~~ to Linda.

I love the dark winter evenings, as long as I don't have to go out in them..... I love the sky at night in the winter, too... the stars are so much crisper, and sparklier..... well, when the sky is clear, of course, lol

My eyes.... must tell you about my eyes!! Well, my left one, anyway.... my left one was the better one... but it has deteriorated quite a bit and is now worse than my right one.... and my right one is worse than it was, too.

Anyway... I am having new ones.... so I should be able to see again properly, soon.... but instead of having different ones for reading, computer and driving, I am having posh new varifocals... they are not the ones where you have to move your head to get the right spot... these are made differently... lasers and not grinders were mentioned, but all far too technical for me... I preferred it when he told me about the dog he misses, and who is living with his parents in Kenya..... so we shall see if they work.

I have ordered two pairs.... one is pink and sort of ordinary shaped lenses... yep, really, lol... the other is black, very snazzy, with rectangular frames, and a little bit of bling on the sides, lolol...... I shall have to vamp up the wardrobe to wear with them, lolol How sad is that... being all excited cos I am having snazzy new specs???

Well... off for a wander around the boards... R will be back soon, and we have a corned beef hash thingy in the oven...... I am starving now!

Loads of love

Daff xxxx

ps, I am being very good, honestly.... R yelled at me this morning, so I daren't upset him... well, he didn't yell, exactly.... he is very quiet... but his eyebrows yelled at me.... xxxxxxxx

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 24 Oct 2009 16:37

Lol at R yelling with his eyebrows!!!!

He will go to the docs if the chiropodists advice doesn't work. I think i would rather trust the opinion of my chiropodist who knows feet than the doc, however, because he didn't actually see the chiropodist we will give it a week. It does seem to be better with resting it more, but he doesn't 'do' rest easily!!!

When/why is littlie coming back in 3 weeks? Not long to wait then.

I used to hate it when they had just gone and it was so quiet, but then the next day the peace was wonderful!!!! Glad she got over whatever it was she had anyway.

Good job you took advice and went to the optician then!! I don't have to consciously move my head to see either with my varifocals.

edt: yes I can see why you would need 2 pairs!!!

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 24 Oct 2009 17:26

Hiya Ann.... B and his ex have agreed one week a month, access..... so it will be every three weeks or so...

I think the goalposts might alter soon though...... I shall let you know how it progresses... ex has had her hours reduced... she used to work flexi time, but was able to go 9 to 5 a few weeks ago... her line manager was having treatment for cancer... they didn't know how long she would need off, but said that it would be a while, and when she got back, Ex would be working reduced hours.... 16 per week.

Anyway... radical surgery wasn't required, treatment is not as harsh, and so line manager is now back at work... as of Friday just gone, out of the blue... and the company is not sure if there is enough work to keep Ex on her 16 hours. I do know Ex has been trying, but unable, to find another job for the last 18 months.

I am not sure how this will affect things... but affect them it will.

R's eyebrows are a bit like Leslie Crowthers, lol........ when the boys were little, all he had to do was raise them slightly, and they would stop doing whatever it was they shouldn't have been doing, lol.... works with me, too, lol... younger son (who is 35 today) used to say that daddy's eyebrows were shouting at them, lol... the expression stuck... like strangled egg and a couple of other expressions they came out with, lol!

Littlie is not at pre school then? Be a bit disruptive if she was I suppose. Well, it will be interesting to see what Mum comes up with next then? Got room for one more?????

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 24 Oct 2009 17:42

You have it in one, Ann, lol!! Not sure how I would cope with that one... I think I'd like to slap her, lol

No... she was 3 in June, so doesn't start school until next September.... she is at nursery.

Life is never straight forward, is it? Still, straightforward would probably get tedious after a while, lol ;¬))

Love Daff.... who is having a lovely glass of sherry, lol........ xxxxxx

Good morning, we obviously are missing Maz to wake the thread up. Lovely morning here, sunny, pale blue sky and a bit breezy. If it is any consolation it is cloudy in Crete and yesterday they had a thunderstorm. (daughter is there for a week).

Ooohh I haven't had Sherry in years, Daff! I used to work with an Accountant who happily sipped a bottle of Sherry every day...in a very ladylike fashion! lol Morning Ann, just back from the park, it looks absolutely stunning at the moment...all reds and yellow.

Happy Sunday to all.

MrDaff Report 25 Oct 2009 10:25

Good morning everyone... I am having some puter problems.... it would seem that I have two viruses... detected, but for some reason allowed to have access... and now I can't find out how to kill them, other than do what I did last time, which was to delete everything with the name on the beginning of the file that they are hiding in.... one is Adobe (again) and the other is in the main system.... it has my name on it... but I don't have a clue how to narrow it down..... sigh....

the last time littlie was here, I had the same problem, but I watched her like a hawk when she was on the pc this time.... she only went into CBeebies. Oh well... another week trying to sort it out. I get so tired of not knowing how to do it, or not remembering how I did it last time... it is very dispiriting.

Oh, and if those dreadful boys get through tonight.... I shall not watch X Factor again for the rest of the series. And I don't think there will be another series if they go much further... We used to have Opportunity Knocks, and New Faces years ago... so X Factor is just a modern twist on an established theme.... but today's viewing public seem to want new thrills all the time... a throw away culture.

Oh dear... far to introspective for a lovely Sunday morning.... blowy, but lovely.

I might get all *gardening geared* up, and go and attack some of those weeds... plus the hawthorn could do with cutting back. That'll blow some cobwebs away, lol!

See you all later.......... oh, and guess who forgot the clocks????? Mmmmm yep!

Love

Hello, Daff and all, would you believe it, I was trying the lavender stuff last night hoping to get some sleep, when our neighbours a young single mum decided to have an all night party, didnt want to bang on the wall, so suffered in silence....luckily it doesn happen often, although it didnt seem that long ago from the last one....
The weather is quite dull and windy but dry...still sorting cupboards and stuff out, well I suppose it will all be worth it, Daff we are going to Llandudno for a couple of weeks, while it all gets sorted, hope we like the kitchen when we get back....lol....

Hi Daff,

When you go on the Ceebies programme does it use Adobe? It does sound suspicious that both times after littly you have had a virus. Perhaps put up on the board that you have a problem and ask if anyone else has a child that watches ceebies. Is it a virus (i.e. potentially harmful)? or a trojan? Has your son been on your PC by any chance?

Jean, could you have a word with your young neighbour and ask her to let you know in advance if she is to have a party so you can be prepared?

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 25 Oct 2009 13:21

~~~~~~~~waves to Jude.... I know... it is soooo quiet.
Aw Jean, it is worse when you are not expecting it, isn't it? As Ann said... maybe if you approached her and asked her to pre-warn you next time so that you can prepare... earplugs and/or sft gentle music as *white noise* helps with me.
Ann... I think I have cracked it... I had an update on my Photoshop, recently, and the folder Kaspersky kept sending me to included that,.... and although I figured out how to go into each one, and scan individually, it wasn't showing up...except in K itself (that sounds muddled, but I know what I mean, lol).... so I decided to delete the Photoshop, as that was the last update the folder had... and work back from there if that didn't work..... and both nasties have now gone from my most recent full scan...
I also altered my settings on Kaspersky, so it should get rid of them next time instead of waiting for me to do it manually.... I hadn't realised I had reset that last time I murdered the nasties, lol!! They weren't Trojans..... just viruses 25023 and 36983!
Son now has his own pc... it was why he couldn't come down on the train when he moved back home, so R had to go and collect him.. and littlie spent most of her pc time on that... just a couple of times on mine, but it did seem strange that it should happen again when she was here. I'll keep a close eye open for it in future!
It is all very puzzling to me... I usually get it sorted, but I do have to go around the houses... and when it does get fixed, I am never really certain how I fixed it, lolol!!
Off to put a duck in the oven.... we were going to have it a couple of days ago, but with one thing and another, never did... so today is the day, lol
AnninGlos Report 25 Oct 2009 13:45
Ooh Daff, duck can I come?
MrDaff
MrDaff Report 25 Oct 2009 13:54
Lol.... I know, it is such a special treat, isn't it? It was half price in T***o's the other day, as was the salmon... so I bought a whole salmon, B filleted it, and I boiled the head and tail etc with some veg... and have loads of lovely home made fish stock, all frozen, plus 12 good sized portions of fish... all for £11.
And I shall use the duck fat for a fair old while for the roasties.... scrummy, lol! Boil up the carcase for lovely rich stock... so it works out fairly economical, really...... I am practicing for Christmas.... although I think that it might be the traditional turkey if we have a lot of folk... we'll see.
Love
AnninGlos
AnninGlos Report 25 Oct 2009 14:30
Duck is one of my favourite meals, we usually get one if we see them half price.
Might have one New Year as we wont be here Christmas to have one boxing day as we did last year. Son has just invited us and, having sorted out that they will get the house a bit warmer for us (they keep their thermostat at about 16) we have agreed to go. It will be llovely to be with the children, especially as the older one will be thirteen and soon no longer a child.
MrDaff
MrDaff Report 25 Oct 2009 15:06
I have another littlie coming at New Year, plus two... not sure what to call them, but for ease will call them *step grandchildren*, lol.... Son no 2 and his new partner will be here... they have just confirmed it, so I shall have 2 Christmas dinners, lolol! And possibly four children in the house.......it will be lovely.
