Ann, he is 5.... it would seem he is lovely, but with no sense of danger.... well, he sounds just like S, lol........ M, my 4 year old littlie, is a lot shyer, and much more aware of dangers.... this could be interesting... I shall practice my *sit in the corner and snore my head off* granny act, lol.

Now... what shall I let them call us? I am against them calling us by our first names, but obviously, we are not their grandparents, and it will be their first visit, which is when precedents are set.

I think we are both relaxed about them calling us by the names we are known by elsewhere... in my case Daff.

Silly, isn't it, the things we worry about!

Daff would be fine, you would have to explain to the 11 year old that it is a nickname you already have. Do they have a full set of grandparents. It is unusual for a five year old to have no sense of danger, unless they have autism or similar.

I'm not sure, to be honest..... I have deliberately not questioned too much... R2 tells me as much as he wants me to know, lol..... I get the impression that he is a very lively child, but *sunny*... he is in the same class at school as R2's little Godson... that is how they all met, lol.... Godson's mum is friends with livewire's mum..... and an introduction was made, etc etc.....

He is certainly sounding happier than he has done (except when talking about his little girl, lol) for a long long time, so that's all I am focusing on at the moment!

Duck was delicious, by the way!!

Have you been out into the forest this weekend? have the trees turned colour yet?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 25 Oct 2009 17:59

I suppose you will find out soon enough. Glad you enjoyed the duck *sigh, I will put up with our chook. Going to have a sherry now though, speak later.

Lol Ann....... I suppose if chicken was rare, and we had to eat more duck... chicken would become the delicacy!

Enjoy!

Actually it was really nice. It was a Willow farm one and was half price and seemed to have a lot more flavour than the cheaper ones. Had roast potatoes, carrots, courgettes, leek and onions and honey roast parsnips plus cabbage with leek and caraway seeds. Really enjoyed it. Not to forget the glass of red!!

Morning all.... just wanted to shock you, lolol.... R has had to go into work early, so I was up at silly o'clock getting his flasks and sarnies sorted out....

The shock has been a bit much for me as well, to be honest... I am off back to bed, armed with a nice cuppa... just for an hour or so ;¬))

Morning Daff and Jean:-) Looks lovely out there, blue skies and feels very mild. Just as well as I haven't found a winter coat yet! lol Jean have you tried any of those over the counter sleeping aids? I think Daff used to use Nytol or something similar. As for me, my most treasured possession is my little heavy duty sleeping pill!

Has anybody been watching Emma on BBC1...it finished last night and although I have seen a few versions, I thought it was lovely. Before that (a very slobby evening!) I watched The Forsyth Saga...fantastic!

Right, back to reality, must get dressed and do the park.

Have a lovely day everyone. BCXX

~~~~~~~~ to BC have a lovely day... how is your face?
Jean, I used Nytol... another thing that works if Nytol fails is Asda Sleep Aid... but it is my *heavy duty* one... and I tend to be a bit foggy in the morning for a couple of hours after taking them.... so don't very often.
Always room for one more, Jean, lol
Oh dear.... now don't you dare pick at those scabs... it's the devil when they itch, isn't it? Once they drop off, your skin will look clear and lovely again.
*wonders if they'll last long enough to frighten the kiddies at Halloween*
Jean, Maz has gone to her Mum's for a week.
BC, leave them alone!!!!! No didn't watch Emma.
Men are funny aren't they? Funny story to start the day. Lying in bed chatting (like you do) I said, 'we could go to Blooms Cheltenham for coffee for a ride out' (got to entertain him to avoid golf withdrawal symptoms). He said, 'no we'll go to Blooms Haresfield then I can go to Halfords'. So I agreed that was fine, five minutes later. he says 'no, we can go to Blooms at Cheltenham then you can go to the Range'. Errrr wasn't that what I suggested first? Ah but it has to be their idea doesn't it? Forgot that Lol!!!!!
Hope you woke up again refreshed.
Jean, I guess you need a course of some sort of sleeping tablets/medicine to re-train your brain not to wake every hour.
JustJean Report 26 Oct 2009 10:43
Jean I will send the latest page as soon as I have photographed it. I have not done a page on Westonbirt yet.
Did get to the Range this morning so had a bit of a spend, sadly they don't do stickles so that will mean a trip to Hobbycraft sometime. Got several lots of ribbon though use a lot of it on cards and scrapping, and another sticker folder, always useful and some more double sided tape. Well somehow we spent £30+ and only £3.50 of that was OH's
