Evening everyone.....

Mamiddau.... I was about to send out the coastguard to look for you!! Glad you are ok now.

~~~~~ to Mau. The conservatory has an oil-filled radiator... it works really well in here...I spend most of my time here, to be honest.... nice and light.
Ann, I have been smuggled into the GP to have blood tests and a swab taken, just in case, lol... I have come out in my petechiae rash all over and inside my eyes... plus on parts of my face... that indicates platelets are low again... it was caused by a sneezing fit, I think. I felt like a criminal, and couldn't stop giggling. They made sure there were no other patients.... I did offer to bathe in the hand cleaning stuff, lolol. I don't have a temp, though, so it probably isn't swine flu... they just wanted to be sure. I get the results of the blood test tomorrow... not sure about the swab, didn't think to ask! Oh, and I was very sick this morning.... so that might have blown the vessels.
I feel a bit better, now, though.... not so headachey, generally less achey, nor as snuffly, and the nausea has gone, so am sure it is a simple cold. I have been very thirsty today, too.
I am off to my bed in a mo..... an early night will do me good.
Love
Hope you feel better in the morning Daff. Sounds more like gastric flu doesn't it? Wonder where you caught that. Did they all wear masks when you were in the surgery, shouting 'unclean'?
MrDaff Report 29 Oct 2009 21:44
wmsl.... it was the bell they were ringing that really did it, lolol!! ;¬)) Oh... and complete NBC kit, with mask and respirators.
They were very good, in all fairness...... the nurse could only get one lot of blood before my vein collapsed, then couldn't get any more... so the doc came in and did it... I have 5 holes in my arms, lol!!
They didn't wear masks.... but they did use that handwash before and after...
Right.... I am really off to bed now! I was just having a quick read of the boards, but my eyes are sore.... whinge whinge whinge, lolol!!
Love
Aw bless you all... I am back off to bed... and R has had a reprieve, as I have lost my voice!! I felt dreadful when I first got up, but having taken some paramol, and lots of fruit juice, I feel a bit better.... I've looked up swine flu properly.... no mention of anyone losing their voice, lololol
Speak to you all later.
These are the symptoms I have for flu/swine flu:
Common flu swine flu
Fever less 39 degrees starts 39 degrees
Headache minor intense
Chills (I.e. shivering) sporadic frequent
fatigue moderate intense
sore throat intense light
cough less intense dry and continuous
mucus nasal congestion not common
muscular pains moderate intense
burning eyes light intense
Have you thought that, as it is a week after your flu jab and a few days after little miss with a cold went home it could be one or the other of those??
Hope you feel better later. A silent Daff!!!! Now that is something to see. XXXX
AnninGlos Report 30 Oct 2009 09:58
How are you feeling Daff?
Just come back from cheltenham, very busy there being half term but managed to get quite a few bits and pieces, two sweaters in M&S, A pork pie from the farmers market for tea tonight as we had lunch in Wetherspoons where they do a really good steak and kidney pudding and chips, very tasty, washed down with a couple of glasses of Hardy's red Shiraz. They also have a very good pound shop where we got a lot of little things we didn't need. The sun shone, it was warm and it was a very enjoyable day out. I left OH sitting on a seat while I did a couple of shop visits so as to not strain his foot and he was fine!!
hi all
Daff - hope you are starting to feel better, sounds like you have a similar germ to we've all had....it hit OH worse, as he has a kidney condition that is always affected by cold and flu bugs. sending you lots of germ free hugs....
job is going well, having a few days off as its half term. The inlaws arrive in approx 4 hours for the weekend.......shopping tomorrow.... yay!!!
anyway, hope everyone else is ok, xxxx
~~~~~ waves to Ann.... just got up from my second nap of the day, lol...... and I am feeling better, thank you.... what about you?

GP just phoned... my blood sample had clotted by the time it got to the lab, so couldn't be tested, they wanted me to go back in on Monday... but as my face is settling back down now, and my throat is so much better, plus still no temp... I think I am over the worst of it now... it was just a head cold, and like you said, I had my flu jab last week, so my immune system would be a bit low whilst it assimilated that, lol.... by tomorrow I shall be running around like a spring chicken, lolol

Oh.... and I am back to see Top Doctor Man next Friday.... so I think I'll give letting them stick more holes in me a miss!!

I have made a huge pot of chicken soup.... in between visits to my bed... and B helped chop the vegetables as he chatted to me, which was cosy, so we can dip into that as we feel peckish... if I have had this, then I imagine R and B will come down with it as well....lol I think this must be my 4th or 5th day... I had all those aches and pains which were not nice, plus headache, didn't I?

Well... if this was swine flu, I didn't even have a temperature!! Easy peasy ;¬))

Sounds like you have had a good day... loads more under the kitchen sink stuff? By the way... do you use your wii?

I am fine, the cold I thought was hovering never materialised so i think it was the flu jab aftermath.

We have not been on the Wii for months, terrible waste of money, good fun for the first couple of months, maybe in the winter, but we never have time and of course T can't at the moment because of his foot.

Well!!!! This £1 shop in Cheltenham seems to always have lots of craft bits so how can I resist???
