Hiya girlies!

Glad the little tummy is now settled Daff! wouldnt want her going home and telling mummy "I was sick all over grandma and grandad ALL the time!" lol There are lots of coughs about at the moment - I reckon it's the change in the weather.

BC - hope your surgery goes well - not pleasant for you, but if it needs coming off, then it needs coming off! I just hope the plaster is not going to be in too much of an obvious place!

Sorry to hear Maz is still having problems with her file and verifier! He/she needs sorting - send 'em down here, I'll do it for you.

Hope everyone else is doing OK - I'm off today with s-in-law on the hunt for shirts for brother! He's been really poorly this year and lost so much weight that everything swamps him, so we are on the look out for Large Boys/Extremely Small Mens shirts, long sleeved, brushed cotton.

You all look after yourselves - Bi for now

MrDaff Report 22 Oct 2009 09:33

Good morning all... well, we had an eventful evening.... Littlie had tummy ache, as you know... and then she had a painful mouth... it is a couple of days since she fell at the supermarket (she was with daddy, not me, thank goodness) and chipped her tooth, no bleeding or swelling, we kept an eye on it, she ate and drank well... until yesterday evening, and everything she put to her mouth she sobbed... she is a very stoical, and happy little girl, so it is unusual for her to sob with proper tears and everything (poor child sobs like granny, by the way, not a pretty sight, and we hadn't noticed before cos she is sooooo good)

Anyway... I noticed she was pointing to her tongue, not her tooth... eventually managed to persuade her to let me have a look, and there was a lovely ulcer on her tongue... where she had been feeling her broken tooth with it. B went across to pharmacist... bonjela has been taken off the market for children under 16!! All is well, now, though... pharmacist gave advice... I had also noticed that the Calpol B had bought a couple of days ago was Ibuprufen based... now, granny and grampa don't tolerate it at all.... and it bungs up Uncle R.... plus Littlie had had a sore tummy, too.... I put two and two together, and she has had a peaceful night... coughed just once, her tummy won't be affected, either, today, hopefully!

I don't remember *fussing* quite so much about her daddy... although I have to say he was a very poorly little boy when he was her age, we worried but just got on with it. I didn't dither like I did with her!

She is still fast asleep. I think I will be going on my own to the surgery for my jab... B will have to go another day (he is in the vulnerable group, he has no spleen)

BC....... you have been in the wars recently! Hope your little bit of surgery goes well

*frets*

Mamiddau, my brother and his family have all had swine flu, just getting over it now... he was hit quite badly by it (he is the one who had the stem cell transplant 2 years ago) and at first he thought his Hodgkins was back, which was the last time I had spoken to him.... I phoned him yesterday to see how he had got on at the clinic, as his bloods were down a couple of weeks ago, and they wanted him back in to check them, ..... so all is probably well... it looks like he may have been brewing this at the time of his last appointment. I do hope so.... he has been very worried about it, as you can imagine! Oh, and the clinic said, basically... don't you dare darken our doorstep, lol

So... two little things resolved, yesterday! Hopefully ;¬))

Must go... off to get my jab... I'll answer everyone properly when I get back...

Love

I think it is much more worrying when it is the Grandchildren who are poorly Daff because we feel so responsible for them in the absence of Mum, that and the fact that all littlies mess their Mum when they are poorly. I was dreading ours going down with anything last weekend. as luck would have it on the Monday after we came back she fell off the school climbing frame and sprained her ankle. It is OK now but I would have dithered if it had been Friday, whereas mine got a cuddle and an 'it will be all better soon' and that was that!!!

Nasty wet afternoon here, we got wet in town and walking from the bus, made worse by wounded soldier having to limp slowly. I asked the advice of the chiropodist, he insinuated that doctors know very little about plantar faciitis he told me to tell him it wont get better until he stops walking on it, he must rest it completely and he showed me an exercise for him to do twice a day.

Hope littly continues to get better and you have no ill effects from the flu jab Daff.

Afternoon all, and please forgive my bee keepers hat, heavy veil, and yashmak...*wails....I am disfigured for Life!!! He blasted three thingies on my face and I look like a boxer.....pmsl...but relieved that it is nothing nasty! He was about to say something about age and stuff but I fixed him with my beady eyes and he shut up. It was in Soho and it is ages since I visited that area, so much more interesting in the daylight than the sleaziness of nightime...

Ann and Daff, I am the very same with the little ones. Am ashamed to say that I was relieved when F fell on the slides and cut his face....and I wasn't there! Yes, we feel much more responsible I think. Hope Little is feeling much better, Daff and you are not run ragged.....

Am waiting for night fall until I take the dog out....lol...

Well it is done now BC and will soon heal I'm sure. Glad they were nothing nasty. Don't you hate it when everything relates to age?

ButtercupFields Report 22 Oct 2009 17:59

Thank you Ann:-) Am glad it's done but it looks quite fearsome! Yes I agree with you, as I always look around when folks talk about older people...I wonder who they are referring to...lol...inside I feel brand new but the outside is fraying at the edges!

I have done quite a lot today, got my hands on some heavy duty glue so am sticking material on cushions and doing it the slobs way..velcro was a waste of time....

It is quite pleasant here, weatherwise, and darkness has fallen so am off to take the doggie out....XX

hello all! BC - are you going for the omar look?!

Daff - glad littlie seemed to have settled, there are so many bugs doing the round, its hard to know where to start treating them! H went to the hospital yesterday, looks like she does have epilepsy, but needs more tests, to make sure. they did blood tests.....she screamed!! am sure you all must have heard her!!! Daddy held her down, and I tried to cwtch her face into me, so she couldn't see.....she thought it funny later that I had her "bogies" all over my shoulder!!!! Our Taff has been giving me loads of support - again! she's a star!

(((hugs))) to all! xxx

AnninGlos Report 22 Oct 2009 21:37

Mamiddau, poor H blood tests are not a lot of fun to adults let alone to littlies. Tell her she was a brave girl to have them.
Please give my love to Taff when you see her, she is missed on here. I trust she is well?

Morning all... can't stop long (again, lol) as I have an eye test at 12....

Just to let you know littlie is fine... slept like a log last night.... I am frayed around the edges, though... BC your yashmak looks stunning... so Bohemian and elegant... but what are those bits clinging to it?????

Mamiddau, I used to tell my two that they could say bad words when they had needles being put into them, lol.... I am happy to say nothing dreadful came out, but it was enlightening to know what they felt was a bad word.. pooh, bum, fart featured rather a lot, lolol And so did Sugar (my word of frustration in those days, lolol) Oh, and they were so busy trying to think of naughty words, the jab/stitches whatever was over before it was started, lol I do hope everything is sorted soon... my niece was epileptic, but has been clear for 5 years... she got her driving licence a couple of months ago, we were all so thrilled.

Ann.... would it be worth teaching T how to iron sitting down? ;¬))

Maz ~~~~

Hiya Julie Ann..~~~~ would you like some of my ironing as well? *smiles hopefully*

See you later.... need to go and dry my hair before I go out.

Daff all he said when he came back in was 'you didn't need to do that I can do it!' Well he can stand on one leg and do the sheets that are drying Lol!!!!

JulieAnn, it is difficult to make him rest anyway, he says he will seize up if he stays still, I am trying to teach him that he has to move a little and rest a lot and I am FRAZZLED too Daff.
It is when BC starts on the dance of the seven veils we have to worry!!!

hi all! Daff - excellent idea! Just told OH, he thought that was fab! we'll try that next time if they have to take bloods again! to be fair, the only time I've had blood tests was when pregnant, and OH had to hold me down! lol!

Ann - I had a stool to perch on to iron when pregnant....to blinking uncomfortable to stand for any length time - maybe worth looking into! hope his foot is better soon!

BC thanks for the hugs - H sleeping now, will pass hers on tomorrow!
