Afternoon all. We have not long got in, decided to drive over to Hidcote Garden this morning and take a picnic lunch. It stayed dry with one or two bursts of sunshine but it was very windy. The gardens looked lovely though with all the late summer perenials such as Astilbe, Phlox, Sweet Williams, some late rose, marigolds, Sweet peas,Japanese anenomes, deep red Dahlias, Margeurites and lots more. The views over the Cotswolds to the Broadway tower were very clear, a true Cotswold scene, I took loads of photos as I usually do there so really enjoyed it.
It was a bit too windy for us to sit out and eat so we sat in the car and were very entertained by a group of six who set up on a picnic table almost in front of our car. 3 men 3 women lots of bags and a basketwork picnic basket. First they covered the seats with blankets, then they spread a white tablecloth on the table, then out came plastic plates and glasses, a bottle of bubbly and more food than you could feed an army with, olives and dips and other tempting looking things. And they ate this with silver forks, not plastic or stainless steel but polished silver. I was tempted to nip over and perch on the end of the seat and see if they noticed me sneak an olive or two. They were obviously having fun, but they were cold too as theyw ere wrapping themselves in further blankets. Still we enjoyed our rolls and baked crisps and coffee!!
On the way back we stopped at a garden centre in cheltenham for a coffee and bought two half price fuschias. (Large supposed to be hardy ones for £3.99 each instead of £7.99 (offer with a Wyvale members card).

Sounds like a perfect day out to me, Ann.... how lovely.... mind, I had to laugh at the three couples.... I have met folk who have done things like that, too.... and invited us on them, to these festivals of highbrow music that are held in some stately pads.... no fear if it is the slightest bit cold, lol

Ginnie, I have tweaked it and left it on.... Oh.... and I look better through blurry specs, too, lolol!!

BC, I have filched both of your ideas..... thank you mwah! I'll let you know what happens with your hanging basket, don't worry, BC.... I imagine if it isn't here by Wednesday or Thursday it is lost in the ether....

Well, as you can see, it is way past my bedtime, and I am off to my bed.... bliss... Pol has been telling me off for the last couple of hours, very miffed with me, she is, lol!

Sleep tight everyone

Love

Good heavens Daff, what were you doing up at that unearthly hour, thought you liked your bed too much for that Lol!!!!

Yes, although the 6 of them were enjoying chatting it was obvious they were really cold. Which is why we were eating out lunch in the car! Mind, if it had been sunny they'd have been plagued by wasps.!

Good morning everyone.... dank and dismal here!

Littlie is having a little strop in the corner... haven't a clue why, but it is something to do with her other nannie not being a hairdresser and is nanna not nannie... heaven alone where that came from... I have left her to it because, it would seem, she doesn't like me any more.... but she'll be back in a mo with a lovely smile determindely pinned to her lovely little face and in trembling voice will inform me *Mine is happy now* lol Bless her.... oh, and her other grandmother IS nanna, but she is a hairdresser!!

Actually I have lied... she has come down all smiles with grampie, and her heartbreak is being eased by one of his special yoghurts..... raspberry Actimel, lolol Oh well, she'll be out in a mo... the youghurt cures everything, lol ;¬))

I was up late sorting stuff out, Ann.... I was still getting pm's quite late, and answering them, lol... plus I couldn't sleep, my mind was racing.... but once I did get into bed, properly, I fell asleep straight away, woke at 6 and back out until 8:45... I have had a shower, and am all ready for the day... Littlie slept until just after 9, but then, she was still finding excuses to be awake at 9:30 pm, the minx.... she cleaned her teeth 3 times..... *Mine forglot some* she said, lolol.... I have visions of poor forlorn little toothiepegs being marginalised by the toothbrush, lol

Well, I am back in favour..... she is watching Winnie the Pooh and eating breakfast at Grampy's tv table, lol, and I will get her clothes for the day sorted while she is doing that...no plans yet for the day, we'll see how it turns out.

Maz, all mine love the shed, garage etc... we have to be so careful to double check later on... they hide from us, as well so we think they are out, but have sneaked back in.

Have a lovely day, everyone

Love and (((((hugs))))))

Just noticed I didn't post yesterday. A bit hectic in the craft room!!! Made OH's birthday card but also have the anniversary card to make and that has to be ready to take with us a week before the date as we will be in Jersey on the actual day! Then I was going to do a scrap book of our life but haven't done one page yet. Problem is I persuaded him to cut his golf down to 2 days as with gardening as well he was getting very tired. So I lost a 'me' day. Was trying to sort his card etc out yesterday, he'd be in the garden, then all of a sudden he would walk in the door (I didn't hear him coming up stairs), I was a nervous wreck by the time I stopped.

And I forgot, I have to start midddle of daughter's 3 grandson's book for his 21st in December.

Morning all, was having a little chuckle at Ann's post...lol...hope all is well with you Daff, and you are not doing too much. I have the day off today so am preparing for the family arriving tomorrow. Have half planned a trip to Bournemouth with the children (and to meet up with a friend). as they have only ever been to quiet Irish seasides and I want to further their cultural education! Am really looking forward to their visit. I am also changing my internet-phone provider and the changeover is today so I may disappear for a while but maybe not.

Hope you are all having a lovely day. Nice and warm here, have just tidied up the patio.

Afternoon all... sorry I am late, I have been *gardening* on another thread on chat. Anyone reading but not posting... if you would like to know the reason for the *coughs* hanging basket, please pm me... there is an excellent although tragic reason for it.

Well, I have a dose of whatever ailed Littlie yesterday, so shall take myself back to bed soon... I spent a lot of time sniffing and coughing through the night... thank goodness it is now, as I am at clinic on Friday, so should no longer be contagious by then... some people who go there are very very vulnerable, still. Littlie is more or less back to her sunshiney self, she is so good.

Today we have been in the garden... she has eaten the first of the tomatoes, which she was so excited about, and we cut courgettes and beans to add to the spagh bol I was making.... then she helped *coughs again* me make the spagh bol... which is burbling merrily away.

She is playing in the sandpit now, but wants to go to the shops to get more icecream with daddy.... and has decided she wants to make pizza, so we need some of the bits... have the flour, yeast and tomatoes, but we need some other stuff on it, like mushrooms and peppers, and granny, spoilsport that she is, has used them in the spagh bol... lolol!!

Ann, they do get under your feet at times, don't they?? lolol And just when you need them out of the way!

BC I have only been to Bournemouth once... I loved it! I bet the children will, too... I love Blackpool, and my other Littlie only gets there when I go to visit.... and she lives about 6 miles away, poor thing!! She loves going with us. Good luck with your changeover.

Maz, days to do!! lol

I am off to sit in my bedroom for an hour and do some codewords, and doze.... hide away from Granny's little helper, lol

Love

Mummo, fingers crossed it is hayfever and not a cold... still pretty miserable, though. How is your mum today?

Maz, I keep out of the wet.... lol I used to love the rain when I was younger, too, but prefer to be on the inside looking out these days. Just three more days to go, for you lolol ;¬)))

No not hayfever, chest feels a bit tight and a little dry cough but l'll survive, lol.
Mum really hasn't been too good all day , she has been in so much pain and the district nurse has had to come out twice today to give her some injections to help her, also the doctor came and they have upped the dose in her driver of a couple of things (sorry donot know the names,) and we were told with them doing this she will not wake as much but l told them as long as she is out of pain then we didn't mind.. we have been told if we have another night like last to call the nurse and they will come out.
Mum has had such lovely people looking after her and for us as a family is a blessing. x
