Good afternoon Ladies !!!!!!!!!!!!
Very quiet in the S ****** household today, Ed has fallen asleep on the sofa, lamb shanks roasting slowly in the oven with roast potatoes and me sitting here with the fan at my side reading all the threads, we did go out earlier down to Southsea seafront but got to hot and decided to come home.
Ann didn't realize you were off to N/Z, enjoy it..........wmsl.
Daff you take it easy.

I hate computers! Nothing is the same everything has to be loaded, struggling with picasa at the moment loading photos from external hard drive and ending up in a loop!!
And now I haven't got a normal tool bar with edit view etc across the top so have to sort that out.

MrDaff Report 11 Jul 2010 16:55

It took me weeks to find mine, Ann.... very frustrating, isn't it? I can't remember how I did it either.... I think it was down at the bottom left, in the thingy there... into computer or something, and then fiddle around getting lost for a bit, seeing it pop up, disapear, and then not knowing what you had pressed to get it there..... no help, am I? Sorry!!

Have fun... have you got Vista again or the newer one?

Mummo, I am, I promise, lol xxxxxx It has been too hot, but just clouding over and a luvverly breeze!!

Decorators have arrived to finish off the bathroom, it has been converted into a wet room and looks really nice and will certainly make life easier for Ed,
My mum is coming out of hospital today, she has had a hospital bed delivered and a nurse is coming in twice a day to help and make her comfortable, we are hoping to go up to see her this week and to stay for a few days. x

good morning all. Rained here overnight and humid now. Hope you and doggie enjoyed your early morning park walk BC. I am still trying to get stuff back from the old pc via the external hard drive Lol If we try and take the photos from picasa on the ext hard drive to the new pc it not only download the photos but collects every possible photo from every picture available. Last night we had to stop it as we had reams of photos of, grass, carpet, anything in a file it called 'textures'. Don't ask. Luckily my photos are all there should I want them and are also on discs so not too much of a problem. I have to tackle the documents today, The worst thing so far seems to be (to me the way I now receive mail. At the moment I am receiving via the web and appear to have lost yahoo which is facebook so will have to sort that out. May have to put up a thread about that later. People will get sick of my questions.
However, so far I don't have a problem with Windows 7 as far as Word is concerned but not done a lot on it yet. We will see, I actually liked Vista. for word. So far not seen a lot of difference.

Good morning Mummo, missed you there. Glad the wet room looks good. Hope that your Mum will be happier at home and comfortable.

Morning all!! A bit cloudy here... I am off out soon, need to buy an outfit, for tomorrow night... I am actually beginning to look forward to it, since I started listening and getting used to the story. We are staying over, almost next door to the Hippodrome, so that will be brilliant.

But I do need a nice new pair of trousers .... I have loads, but not in the size I am now, lol.... story of my life, I knew I would regret throwing them all in the charity bag last year :¬S

Maz, I agree with BC, we really need to see what he gets up to... his antics never fail to make me laugh out loud, lol Did you see that news report about a cat who keeps coming home with children's soft teddies and toys? They have stacks of them, manage to reunite some of them, but of course they haven't a clue who many of them belong to!! Better than mice and birds, though.

BC have a pleasant walk... it is going to be hot later, so just wilt on your beautiful patio with your feet in a bucket of cold water when you get back.... bliss, lolol

Mummo, the wt room sounds brilliant. We just have a shower, not a bath. I don't miss the bath, as I rarely used one... don't like to lounge in one for long, as some folk do, I dip in, splish splash rinse and out again... but love the feel of a shower... silly, but sometimes I pretend I am in a waterfall, and stay there until I get wrinkly, lol Or the water runs cold. Lovely to hear that your mum is going home today, ((((((hugs)))))

Ann, well, I'll be no help... I went to the same techno school as Maz... I had that same problem with the photos, Ann... I managed to get it sorted in the end, but I use Vista.... maybe it is to do with the hard drive. I don't know... the only way I can describe it is that I have to send to Windows Photoshop first, and then it gets redirected to Picassa from there, if that makes sense... oh and tediously, file by file, by highlighting the photos a file at a time. Still haven't finished doing it, actually,lol ;¬))

~~~~~~~~ to Mau, Ginnie, and anyone else looking in... see you later when I have bought my new best bib and tucker, lol
Maybe it is the latest picasa that is the problem Daff. I have sorted out what I want by copying the relevant files from a CD they are saved on into 'my pictures', then opening one photo in each file and they then seem to transport them selves to picasa. I will NEVER understand pcs or the people who update things to make them better...... for who I ask?
Which hotel are you staying in? I didn't realise it started the run on a Tuesday, we don't go to see it until the 7th. (Last night). So it is over a three week run.
MrDaff Report 12 Jul 2010 12:47
I am still here... son has gone out in my car, and I don't know when he will be back. He has an interview, which I didn't know about. Grrrrr!!
The sky is overcast and very heavy with rain... I reckon we are in for it... I might shelve my idea of M & S today, and make R take me to Cribbs causeway tomorrow on the way to Bristol.
We are staying at the Radisson Blu... got a bit of a bargain by booking late, so quite happy with that.
I have an alternative outfit sorted, but I am a bit bored with it now, although it is very nice. As it is the only *posh* stuff that'll fit, I have been wearing it to everything that requires a bit of posh. lol
Well, I had a new toy arrive in the post... it is for swearing, but should make my life easier, lolol!! I'll let you know what it is and if it works when I have tested it.... but I have to vacuum first, so watch this space, lolol!
I have always found in the past couple of years Daff that theatre goers in Bristol don't 'do' posh. Where abouts is the Radisson, don't think we looked at that one. We got a deal with the Bristol Hotel (formerly Jurys) where we have stayed before a few years ago. It is on the other side of the docks sort of looking across to the Hippodrome.
AnninGlos
AnninGlos Report 12 Jul 2010 12:54
Just looked it up I know where it is now, just over the road from the theatre. And just down the road from where we will be. We somehow got a 2 night stay with champagne and strawberries for a ridiculous price.
MrDaff
MrDaff Report 12 Jul 2010 14:23
The Bristol was full price, from tomorrow for three days, so we binned that idea.... the offers were all for tonight or from Friday night onwards... I imagine there is something going on. Maybe this production, lol... it is the 25th anniversary, so perhaps a lot of folk wanted to go in the first couple of days.
Anyway, we are booked and paid for... I hope!! I have just had an e-mail from Paypal, I am pretty certain it is a scam, so have sent it off as one... I booked the tickets on my usual e-mail, but Paypal is on one of it's own, just in case.... I have reported it, so we will see what reply they give.... the e-mail wanted me to phone them. But it is a UK thingy number, and Paypal are all international numbers, so fortunately, I knew both those things, and was wary.
I started to vacuum in the conservatory, and trod on a bee, poor thing... well, I was miffed, as I had actually just gathered a butterfly and was ushering it out of the door, so being gentle to God's creatures sometimes doesn't pay off. My poor foot is quite swollen and tender... I have taken antihistamine, so hopefully it will be fine, soon. I have put the bee out on the rosemary bush, but it doesn't look very well.... it was crawling on the floor, so was probably dying anway, poor thing.
AnninGlos Report 12 Jul 2010 15:15
Ouch, bet that hurt, you and the bee! Well no wonder it doesn't look well, you just trod on it. And you should wear slippers Lol!!!!
Yes the Bristol is often full price, tends to be better for offers at weekends. We haven't paid for the hotel yet, pay on arrival.
Paypal scams are quite notorious so it probably was a scam.
MrDaff Report 12 Jul 2010 17:21
Aw Mummo, I am so sorry. ((((hugs))))) As Ann said, she has already had enough to go through, bless her.
Ann, it was probably pooly before I trod on it... actually, it was under the arch of my foot, and I was stood sort of brushing the cat's cushion and it was crawling up the side of that... she has taken to lying on the floor in front of the french doors outside. I think it might have been totally squished if I had fully stood on it, lol
It is still trying to crawl over the rosemary bush... some die off about now, don't they?
The swelling is reducing now... but the antihistamine is making me sleepy, lol
