Hope the dentist was ok??

Maz and Joy, thank you... I'll get him to pop on later, when he gets home... I think he had an ok birthday, lol..... well, poor soul had to go out and earn a crust to keep me in glitter and ribbon, lolol Never mind... the weekend will be party time, I expect.

Joy... they really are, aren't they? I have just found out that littlie is coming here for Christmas... the last thing I expected, so I am thrilled... but not counting chickens, yet, lolol

Dentist was as OK as it can be. She really cheered me up by saying the 3 teeth on that side are all loose and I will quite probably lose them soon. Bundle of laughs she is. She actually called T up so she could tell him as well, I didn't have a clue what she was going to say, frightened me to death, was thinking mouth cancer, you name it, but no, loose teeth. she wanted him to be aware as well although what he can do about it I am not sure. Mouth is just about back to normal which is an improvement on last week.

Just been round the local Garden centre (Norton AKA Twigs) and bought 4 grasses, we now have a border of grasses down the right hand side Daff. Only small at the moment but will hopefully grow. I hope they are all frost hardy, I think so.

Back to card making now.

Naughty Daff, more glitter everywhere!!! Shall take it away from you!!

MrDaff Report 1 Oct 2009 17:01

Maybe T is supposed to thump your back if you choke on a loose one???

Not much help, am I?.... Well serves you right for threatening to take away my glitter, lolol... I did get carried away, though.... I haven't used more than about a quarter of the stuff I'd glitterised, lol......

First page finished... but not dry, yet...... looks ok... but I clearly have a long way to go before I complete one that looks fantastic.....

Looks like your card for R has arrived, too...... will let you know later......

Lot of help you are Lol!!!

So much for posting it on Monday then, and as far as I know we are not affected by strikes. Could have walked it there more quickly. Not to worry as long as it is there.

hello Huia i dont usually see any one in the mornings here ,I am cleaning the kitchen area ,but my son bought Gizmo three balls and he loves them but they keep going under things and i have to keep getting them back out lol .i have just washed the litter area and around the dishes lol

Huia

Huia Report 2 Oct 2009 07:42

Well I have finished my dinner and should now be washing the dishes.

Our cat is a bit too elderly to play. She was 13 when we took her over. Her previous owners were going over to live in France. She is a lovely cat and was very good with my husband. He thought the world of her. I only got attention from Chlore if she wanted food, but now that my husband is no longer at home I am getting a little bit more attention.
There is a cat in the hospital but she doesnt seem to be too keen on getting too close to the inmates. Perhaps some of them are rough or dont like cats.

I will probably visit the hospital tomorrow, although it usually leaves me feeling drained and weepy to see my husband like a caged animal, only a shell of himself. He is 79 so I cant help feeling that the sooner he dies the better, it is no life for him in there, but I cant have him home, it is not safe for either of us.

Better get the dishes washed I suppose, before the food dries hard on them.

Huia.

Morning Daff, Maz and Huia and all. It must be so very difficult for you, Huia, seeing your husband deteriorate, but as you say, he is being well taken care of and you couldn't possibly continue taking care of him at home. Take care.

Am off to take the doggie to the kennels, but first a long walk in the park. Nice day here, quite a lot of blue sky. I do hope Mr Daff has become accustomed to his sequinned present, Daff, I am knitting him another one for Christmas:-)

Happy Friday everyone.

Lol.... Afternoon everyone... I am very very late today... Ann, yes, it was the card... sorry he didn't reply... he will tonight.... he had a phone call from son no 2... 2 in two days, that is a rarity, now he is on top of the world, lol. I have a suspicion Christmas prezzie for me was on the agenda, lolol!!

Huia, that must be so very hard for you.... I can't imagine it, so can only send you some (((((((((hugs)))))))))

BC.... that'll do nicely, lol.... it did tone rather well with the glitter that seems to have got everywhere, lolol ;¬))

Lol Maz... I keep finding Christmas tree baubles and those balls from the ball pool... Jethro must hide them away, somewhere!! But I have to say, it is lovely when Pol starts to play with them... she is feeling her age, bless her!!

Erm..... Ann, stop woggling those teeth, lol.......... remember when we woggled teeth for the tooth fairy?... Well, sorry, but *whispers* she only leaves pennies for children... nowt for the likes of us, lololol

I have just finished the second page, (scrapbook) except for one little thing, but need to wait for some glue to dry first, lol... and started the layout for M's first day at school.

I am having a problem with that... I like colour, and lots of it.... but if I use it, she gets lost in it, in her drab grey and blue school uniform... I am not a blue person, either... she does have a pink schoolbag, though......

Right... back to my Tesco shop... online, of course, lolol I am full of glitter!! It'll take a week to wash off!

Love

Glad he got it anyway.

Trying hard not to woggle, or wiggle!!! And also trying to remember toe at on the other side.

Wonder what you Christmas pressie will be then, goodness, not December yet plenty of time for T to start thinking about it.

BC what colour is the Christmas one? And is it really sparkly. hae a good weekend over the water wont you?

Huia, it must be sad to see Phil shut inside when he has always been so keen on the outside Maybe he doesn't remember now so wont bother too much. Does he watch TV? Could you maybe take in a video of the countryside to take in? Or would that make it worse do you think? You have to get on with living your life, I am sure were he able to tell you, that is what he would say. He is being looked after, warm and fed by the professionals, and you are both safe.

We have just been for coffee with friends, he is sporting a natty line in nose tubes leading to his oxygen, until March he was playing golf, he had a cold, then a cough, then it affected his lungs and the hospital don't know what the problem is but he can't walk more than 50 yards without the oxygen. However he is so bright and cheerful and never complains, an example to all the men I know when they are ill, and of course he can't play golf now. T didn't play golf today because he still has a problem with his foot so, after coffee at Blooms Garden Centre and a wander around we left them and went out for lunch at a Brewers Fayre, then to tesco to get the shopping. Just had a cuppa and now had better get back to card making again.

Just a thought Daff, have you had your invitation from Simon yet and have you remembered to buy his card????

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 2 Oct 2009 21:14

*wails* Noooooooo.... no invite yet... have a lovely little frock and some earrings... well, they are beads, really, but sooooo much glitter on them they look like real bling, lol!

And I won't send him a card if he doesn't send me an invite.... so there.

I reckon he knows his bachelor days will be over the moment he meets me, so he is keeping me at a distance, lololol!!

I can't believe he is 50... he looks good!!

Good morning Daff and everyone:-) Hope you have gotten over your glitter mania, Daff which reminds me I have some sequins and diamonds over from where Mau gluled them on my shoes for the wedding. If anyone would like them would be happy to send them.

Am off to Ireland in a few hours, no packing done yet but have a list of relies to look up, as long as your arm! My SIL is cooking my favourite meal tonight,, corned beef and cabbage.

Keep away from toffees, Ann, and make sure Daff has a few quiet moments in her days....she is such a whirlwind!!

See you all next week.

Waves ~~~~~~~~~ to BC.... have a lovely weekend, BC....... I love corned beef and cabbage, too...... and corned beef hash.... and corned beef stew...... or corned beef dumplings... scrummy. Don't like corned beef on it's own much.. strange, isn't it?

I am leaving the glitter alone today, lol.... I am going to slob out. My sister and niece popped around yesterday.. sister is enjoying her new job! Particularly the wage packet... I am off to help her spend some on her day off next week.... I love spending other folks' cash, don't you? lol

Ann, did your dentist mention whether or not there is a way to secure your loose teeth? All joking aside, it is a bit of a bind at the very least to be constantly worrying over whether a tooth will drop out while you are having lunch out.......

Morning Maz... how did your assessment go?

The weather is a bit grizzly and blustery today... garden looks a bit of a sight, all filled up with leaves... I can't use the horse chestnut ones in the compost, either, as they are diseased... I am awaiting the tree-man (VERY Hunky, lol drool) to come and have a look.... they have already needed to remove one, but there are two more just beyond my fence... which will really alter the amount of light we get... very oppressive in the summer... the shade will be just perfect then, as there are a few majestic oaks just beyond them, which will dapple gently over most of my garden during the hottest part of a bright sunny summer day. Lovely!

Thank you to the lovely people who have lit candles for me, recently. Seeing them was a real boost to my spirits.

Update on my nephew... he is 21 in a couple of days. We have known that he might have to have heart surgery since he was a tiny baby... he inherited a condition from his natural dad..... his dad died of a massive heart attack at the age of 24, 3 months before my nephew was born. Dad and another brother were best mates.... which is how my youngest brother met his now wife. Nephew has been a part of my life since he was just 1 year old....

He has to have his surgery very soon.... within the next 3 to 6 months. He will have it at Harefield hospital, which is a bit of a trek from Swansea.

Even though we knew that he would probably have to have it done, one day... well, it is still a shock when one day actually bites yer bum.

I'll update when he has a date for his surgery.

I am not playing a *poor me* card... well, not really... but we have had a nasty couple of years, as a family. Good job we are as tough as old boots, so although we don't exactly sail through it... we do tend to come out the other side like tempered steel....... much stronger.

Well.. must go and see how Jean is on her thread...

Have a lovely day, everyone

Love

Daff xxxx
