Morning everyone... Maz.... I've got loads here you could get stuck into if you need to? lol

Hiya Liz.... I've had a look at gumtree... you mentioned it to me once before, I think when I was looking for a toddler bed, thanks! I did used to use the old soap thing... haven't any soap in these days except the liquid soap, lol.... I do moisturise my hands well beforehand, and that helps as well by setting up a barrier... but the problem with that is that my hands then itch more, and also they get a bit sticky.... slippery grip on the trowel... one of the things that really works is afterwards, I use oil... olive preferably, but any will do.... with a bit of sugar in it... that does tend to get most of it off, and the hands feel lovely and smooth afterwards.

Have a wonderful holiday!!

Morning Daff, Maz and all:-) Not a bad morning here and I love it when I don't have to set my alarm clock to wake up! That's a good tip about mucky garden hands, Daff, I must remember, that is if I can find some sugar in the cupboard!

I am off to local garden centre later. Is this an ok time to plant a Honeysuckle do you think. I want a smelly something for outside the back door. Have Jasmine (the Aunty of your one Daff) on the other side.

Hope you are getting used to baby boy settling in, Daff:-) Have a Happy Saturday everyone....

Good morning BC... I do hope honeysuckle can be planted now... I have one ready to go in, lol!!

I suppose salt might work... it acts as an exfoliater and abrasive, so as long as it is a bit gritty, it should do the trick!

Son is settling in rather too quickly, lol.... but he is good company!

Morning all..... have a rest today, Maz, and do absolutely nothing!

I am not sure what to do with myself.... everyone else is fast asleep (husband, son and all four cats snoring for Britain, lol) the veg is all ready for dinner, washing on the line (although it does look as though it is about to throw it down) and now I want to do something but can't quite summon up the oomph lol!

Oh well.... lets go and have a wander around the www!!

What were you doing up until that ungodly hour Daff?? Hope you have found something interesting to do, not like you not to have a long list. Mine starts with putting the washing out, nearly finished, then Tesco, then finish unpacking what an exciting life!!!!

wmsl..... getting squiffy, Ann..... and suffering this morning as a result!

I have a hangover headache...... serves me right I know, but at the moment I have a huge list, lol, but no inclination or oomph.....

I found my ribbon, by the way.... oh, and some other bits in the same range as the paper I am using.... so I could get on with that later. When my headache has eased!

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 20 Sep 2009 10:29

lol Ann.... think it might be the other way around!!

No.... we just had a very good afternoon/evening... I was cooking, B and R were both topping up my glass........ so I drank more than I should have without realising it.

No more for me all week, though.... I have clinic on Friday, lol.... don't want pure Aussie red in my veins, lolol

It is easing now... I find milk and fried egg sorts it out after a while, lol!!

We had great time at our son's (he's not his best though, but covers it as best he can), young M is so loveable and funny. He told a little girl off for smiling at me, he said "no, thats my nanny"....how cute, l apologised to her mum but said how chuffed l was aswell:o))). He's got a black this morning,he hit it on a slide on Fri, bless him:o(((
We're off this Fri to daughters in Dorset....yeh:o))

Granddaughter not liking school, well she likes the activities but won't let mum go, so she stays for now and will try and escape for 5 mins at a time etc

Ann...welcome home, lovely county Dorset:o)

Maz...hope your cranked up now...lol

Vic has gone on an 8 mile ramble, he loves it, could'nt go on a couple of them because of a knee injury (tripped whilst walking the dog) and bad back!!

Good evening ladies all!

(in slightly stilted voice, as I could be construed as having had one too many but that is not the case cos I have only had the one!) ))))

Spent a pleasant afternoon pruning lavender and bay trees, so smell as sweet as Crabtree and Evelyns! Lovely job, if slightly smelly, but heralds the end of the summer as the bees have left, and Autum approaches!!!

I do hope that everyone has enjoyed the lovely weather we have experienced here in Notts? warm sunshine, no breeeze - is this the Indian Summer we were promised?

Love to everyone

Bi for now

Aw Jude.... bet his feet are sore!! It's hard to see our kids suffer, even when they are all grown up... B is reading littlie her bedtime story at the moment.... over the telephone! He misses her so much.

Jac... well, last night I had a lot more than one too many, I think.... although my glass never actually emptied, so I couldn't say exactly how many over the odds, lolol..... I did have a sore head this morning, ouch! We still have rather a lot of butterflies and bees.... and loads of Dragonflies, too.

The weather has been stunning here today as well..... just cool enough to be comfortable. All my roses have taken on a new lease of life... Ann there are 5 flowers and another 6 or 7 buds on my beautiful rose!! This is the third flush of flowers, so it has been a great joy.... and I can just smell it, lovely!

Maz, well done!!

Right.... back to do some more cutting out.... speak later.

Evening everyone!

Daff! tsk! I do not approve...pmsl!...I only had 2 glasses of red yesterday...felt decidely squiffy! its lovely that your son is still reading bedtime stories...I know its not the same as being there, but their relationship will stay strong because of the effort he is making...if only more Dads were like him! am sure you are very proud of him, and rightly so!

Its been lovely here today....we spent ages out in the garden, all the dead stuff is gone, and my back is killing me! lol! the best bit was that the delightful children were out for the day....it was so nice, there was no swearing ( not even from Oh!!!) and my two played so nicely....H was killing caterpillars....!

Jude - hope V enjoyed himself....! 8 miles....madman!

XXX to all!

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 20 Sep 2009 21:26

8 miles Jude, six was enough for me last week!

Daff, It is good for littly to have contact with her Dad, so difficult for little ones when the relationships go wrong, I am sure he is doing the best thing for her (and himself).

It was a beautiful day today here too although I only did a very short stiny in the garden picking up the rotten apples that had fallen. T did clear one small bed ready for Tete a Tete daffs to go in.

Then we demolished a bottle of Cava (end of holiday) and a glass of red and it is amazing that I am typing straight!

Forgot to say we also had a delicious dinner of roast lamb, roast potatoes and mixed roast veg (leeks, courgettes, carrot, parsnips, mushrooms, onion and yellow pepper.)
