Hello Mau.... that sounds idyllic... hubby would like to go, but I don't do hills... and it is up a bit of a hill, isn't it?

You might have a point there, Ann.... I'll arrange an eye test soon.

*all fluttery and little heart beating sooooo fast*

Well.... I had a visitor.... *swoons* only Handsome Hunky Landscaper, lol.... he has taken some measurements... drawn some little squiggles on his notepad..... had a coffee and met son no 1, showed me photos of his wedding and his little boy... who is so chunkily gorgeous you could eat him (he is only 9 months, but boy, is he going to break some hearts!!) and has now gone away to draw up some plans...... *sigh*.

Oh well.... back to reality..... off to do some sticking and pasting, lolol I feel like I am five again... but it is such fun!!

Good morning everyone.... clear blue skies here today... I am off to do a bit of shopping in a mo.... well, in an hour or so... but dinner is all burbling happily away... Ann's steak and kidney got my taste buds tingling, so I am doing a big pot, and will freeze some of it... I don't do the pastry any more, but will have it with mashed potatoes and green beans... yummy!

I hope everyone has a really wonderful day, however you choose to spend it.

Lovely and sunny here, we were expecting a man to replace one of our large conservatory windows but his van has failed its MOT so he now can't come which is a nuisance since he didn't contact us until we had got it all ready. I am out all morning at a meeting so will be off soon. Will be back on this afternoon.
Mamiddau, good luck for Monday, how exciting for you.

Jac Report 29 Sep 2009 14:04

Afternoon ladies - from a very
very sad Jac.

On Saturday, just about half an hour after I handed over safe custody of the two little kitties to next door, our Jackson went on his evening constitutional, and never returned.

He had on occasions spent the night on the tiles, but was always by the front door first thing the next morning, so even though we went out whistling and shouting for him Saturday night we werent too concerned, sure that he would be in for his brekkie.

Sunday morning, but no Jackson. We spent Sunday hunting and searching for him, ringing all the Vets, RSPCA, PDSA. Catteries in the book but no one had seen him.

By Sunday evening we realised that something was very wrong, but still we hoped he was off hunting in the field at the back of us (which had been recently ploughed and easy pickings for vermin this time of year).

Monday morning, I rang all the contacts again and made out a flyer, with his little picture on it ready to push through doors and put on notice boards etc.

I went to an elderly neighbours to give her the veggies from the allotment, and she said she saw him Saturday night peering in her patio door, and said I should try next door but one to her who always leaves their shed doors open.

When I went to the neighbours, the poor woman said "I know where he is". Unfortunately he was killed on the road in front of their house on Saturday night: whoever had run him over had left him in the middle of the road, and some other neighbours had moved him to their garage, hoping to find out his owners.

Both hubby and I are distraught and yesterday we had the very sad task of taking him to the Pet Crematorium: I shall collect his ashes tomorrow.

He would never wear a collar (cos he had been a stray and fought desperately to get it off, so we decided not to put one of him) so these people had no idea he was our No.2 Son.

Jackson was a lovely cat: he came to us a timid undernourished puss, but left this life a confident, slightly tubby, loving, gorgeous specimen: we miss him deeply.

Sorry to bring dismal news - just thought you might be interested.

Yes, it was the correct day Daff, just home, head spinning, all talking at once, so difficult to take minutes so some got left out Lol!! Nobody will notice!

T's foot was a bit painful yesterday but I would bet he will still play tomorrow so the sympathy is in short supply. He isn't playing Friday though as we are meeting friends for coffee.

BC your hair looks beautiful.

Aw Jac, I am so very sorry... they are so much our babies, aren't they? RIP Jackson. Belle, Bonny, Sadie and Twt will keep you company, I am sure.

BC.... your hair looks fabulous... love it! The poor Dragon! That must feel quite dreadful.... my mum panics every so often.

I did wonder where you were hiding, Maz... I was about to send out the coastguard to look for you, lol!

~~~~~~ to Vicky... you take it easy, do you hear?
Lol Ann.... I still bet you got more than most would... some folk who take the minutes seem to miss most of what is said, lol Sometimes I have wondered if they attended the same meeting as me, lol
Well, been to Staples... I was very good, and R will be so proud of me... I only spent £3.78, lol..... won't tell him about Hobbycraft though, lol...... I have got the most amazing glitters!!! And stuff ;¬))
I then bought his birthday prezzie...... he has dropped hints the size of Ayers rock, lol.... I forgot his card.... oh darn it... will have to nip across to Asda...... be back later!!
Jac, I am sorry we must have posted at the same time and I missed your post. I am so sorry about your loss of Jackson, such a sad way to go, we lost one of our cats that way before we moved here. that is the trouble with most cats, they have no road sense, obviously you will be missing him. But console yourself with the fact that you gave him a great end to his life where he was well fed and well loved.
((((hugs)))) Ann x
AnninGlos Report 29 Sep 2009 15:21
go on, tell us what you bought him!!!
Fancy forgetting his card, good job you don't have to post it. is it a special meal for him tomorrow then? His card is in the post (Monday) I just hope it gets there OK>
Well, even if I didn't get all the mumbles, half of them wont remember what was said, I don't usually have a problem. However, our chairperson was absent, she has flu and the chair was taken by the (male) treasurer, who is very nice but who actually sees himself as chairman, treasurer and secretary all in one!!!! And he speaks at 90 miles an hour. So i had to put my hand up to stop him to get it all written down.
