Morning Daff and all., hope you are all doing well. I am up late again this morning, must be autumn creeping in! lol Lovely morning here. We had a sad experience on our walk last night. A beautiful tabby lay dead on the pavement down the road from us, a note beside her saying do not move as RSPCA had been called. Anyway to cut a long story short, she went to her maker with pride, wearing my best silk green scarf wrapped round her...

Off for our morning hike now, well more a gentle saunter to the park.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone.... well, what a silly sort of morning!!

The weather can't make it's mind up... I think it wants to drizzle, but it is just sort of grizzling... sightly damp, is all.... hope it makes it's mind up... my plants need watering, fairly soon... I did the patio rose, and the pot mums early this morning...

Did your sherry ease your shoulder, Ann? I am free of most aches and pains at the moment... and it is wonderful!! Tired this morning....

B was still wandering around trying to be quiet at 4:30 this morning.... he saw a couple of jobs advertised yesterday, and was tweaking his cv to match the description. They are temporary jobs, so they suit even better.... and evenings from 6:30 to 2:30 am.... that really suits him. It is lab work, as well... so will get him back into it. Then, when littlie comes down, he can still have plenty of time with her if he can't get the time off.... and I can manage her for a few hours a day, she is such a delight and very easy going. It'll all come out in the wash.

Not sure what I want to do with myself today..... I need to take the land registry stuff to the local council planning office... they will then tell me how high I can build my fence, lol.... so I might do that. I have all the documents printed out, and written out our plans so that they can see easily.Not sure how to get to the council offices... went there once many years ago, but only cos I had got lost looking for somewhere else, lol!!

I must attach my speakers to my pc... I looked at that link, Ann... and couldn't understand why there was no music, lol.... doh!

BC, the poor little creature... I do hope it's passing was quick and painfree... by the way, are you getting mail ok in your little corner of paradise?

Mamiddau... you and me both.... no way would they get me into one of those contraptions......... I was fearless when I was a youngster, though, so maybe if they had been around then, I might have done.

~~~~~~~~~~ to Vicky.... I swear, I was a good girl before I found GR, lololol ;¬))
Huia... I'll keep an eye open for it!! I used to walk a lot when I was younger... didn't drive, so had to.... but I was also a cross country runner and swimmer as a teen... I trained with an Olympic silver medallist, and played netball until I was 25 and had a bit of an accident, which stopped it. But apparently, I lacked a competitive streak, lol..... that gene by-passed me, it seems.
~~~~~~~ to Jean.... so pleased you are feeling better.... you'll soon be 100% Now take it easy.....

Off to make my list, lolol!!

Love

Daff the sherry was nice, didn't stop the soreness but stopped me thinking about it. Now today I have a meeting to attend to take the minutes and then the dreaded dentist!!!

BC, poor puss, what a lovely send off.

Lovely morning here so far, real autumn sunshine.

good luck to B| for the job, hope he gets the one he wants.

Must dash, speak later his afternoon.

Got the wrong date for the meeting, it is 29th, I had not put the date change on the calendar

Oh and a correction:- sister was paragliding apparently parascending is from a boat, not even she would do that, Paragliding you are attached to a 'pilot' and throw yourselves off a hill!!!!! Apparently she had a dishy pilot.

evening all! poor puss...wot a lovely thing to do BC...xxx

Daff....hope one of the jobs comes good for your son. Its a horrible position to be in...the waiting, and wondering! will keep my fingers crossed for him, which gives me a perfect excuse for my shoddy typing! lol!

I had an interveiw monday, the first time for years where a CV was needed....thought the interveiw was rubbish, really laid back and informal, and I really didn't feel I sold myself well....the post went to someone internally, but they have offered me another job, which they haven't got a job description etc for yet! waiting for the paperwork to come through! rather excited!

XXxxXX to all!

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 22 Sep 2009 20:38

Good luck with that one then Mamiddau, they obviously liked you even though you thought you didn't do well. These large firms and local government departments etc have a clause written in that all jobs have to be offered externally, even though there may be an internal candidate suitable for the job. I always think it is very unfair and often a waste of peoples time. However, if they have offered you a job anyway it was well worth you applying.

mamiddau

mamiddau Report 22 Sep 2009 21:29

hiya Ann....seems I did impress...the job they offered is being created to make sure that it fits! fab! They want to tailor it to my skills etc....its working for a political party...total departure from what I have done for years, but soooooo exciting!

the day went rapidly downhill afterwards.....am trying to cling on to the feeling of excitment from this morning! xxx

God morning Maz & Jean. Dentist was OK, had an injection (or 2) to have the lower left jaw deep cleaned (under the gums) . Not at all painful but tiring as she was pressing down so hard, and aggravating because of the suction thingy. And my mouth didn't 'come round' until nearly 6pm (appointment was at 2.30.
Jean, just take it easy, is it this weekend you go?
A bit of a grey morning here but so far it is dry. I am hoping it will stay dry until the weekend as we are hoping to go to the Malvern Autumn show on Saturday.

Morning Daff and all and well done to Mamiddau for the new job! How exciting to have a job worked round YOU and not the other way round:-) Warm and cloudy here. Have a lovely day everyone. CXX

MrDaff Report 23 Sep 2009 10:14

Well done you, Mamiddau.... how exciting.... and how flattering!! I am sure B will be fine.... he is very motivated, he needs a job for a year, and then off to Uni in York next year to top up his degree with Ecology or Environmental stuff..... he'll be close to littlie, then, so much happier.

Ann, it is a little overcast here, too..... it has been raining, that fine misty rain that gets in everywhere, and as long as it stays a while, is better for the garden... no run-off.

~~~~~~~ to BC
Jean, half the fun is browsing the shops, lol.... sent my sister to Hobbycraft for art supplies for my niece.... and she has come away with knitting patterns, lol... she hasn't done any knitting for over 18 years.... no wool, mind, just the patterns!!
Maz, they are dreadful, aren't they? My son is 36!!! You'd think he'd grown out of his studenty days... and he had, in his own home, as he did all the housework, cooking, cleaning and looking after littlie... but the minute he gets to mam's.... well!! He is cooking dinner at the weekend, though..... my soups and stews are better than his, and that is what we have in the week (in the winter), as R gets home so late so it is easier.
I have a huge pot of lamb broth burbling merrily on the stove..... I cooked the lamb up yesterday, strained and de-boned it this morning, and added all the vegetables... in an hour or so I shall transfer it to the slow cooker... once the pearl barley is cooked through.... and then we just dip into it whenever we feel like a bowl. When the boys were small, I always had a pot of soup on the go, now I also freeze loads.
Right, off to write today's list, lol.... I did half of the tasks on my list yesterday, plus a couple that weren't on there... we had three family crises, one resolved quickly (my dad) and two that will take a bit of nail biting for a while, so that took away some of my time with telephone calls and such like.
Would you have a few positive thoughts going spare for my brother and my nephew? They are both dealing with health issues, and both potentially life threatening. We won't know for a few weeks yet.
Love
Positive thoughts to spare Daff, sending loads winging their way via you to them, hope all will be well for them.
That is the trouble with large families I imagine Daff, more problems to solve. Hope a solution is found soon.
Daff, sending healing thoughts and prayers for your family,
and many thanks for the card Clematis is the name of the apartment we go to in Llandudno in Oct, sadly our trip to Filey has had to be cancelled the building works next door to the bungalow we hired was much too disruptive so have got a refund but no holiday , frantic trying to find something fo Saturday, I am so upset, seems everthing is against us , sorry for the pity party, but cheesed off....cant even get to do my scrapbooking, so much stuff in the way , ready for the white goods going upstairs, although J has measured the bathroom door and they wont go through, the guy who is doing is away this week too.... he says they will go in , I think the door jambs will have to come off, the flippin kitchen is ordered so it will be interesting to say the least,....moan over ....off to give myself a good talking to...
love to you all Jean xx
MrDaff Report 23 Sep 2009 21:39
Aw Jean, that's a shame... is there nowhere else you fancy at this time of year? The children are back at school, and the holiday season is almost over... have you tried Centre Parks? My son reckons it is a fantastic break....
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and stuff.... my brother is probably ok, and just in a *worry spin*.. he is the brother who had the stem cell transplant 2 years ago. My nephew is a different matter... his condition is genetic, and his birth father died as a result of it, before my nephew was born. Up until now, he has avoided the worse aspects of it, but that has changed, and he is likely to need heart surgery in the near future. They are in London at the moment going through all the tests. He is just coming up to 21.
I am off to bed now... have a busy day ahead tomorrow, GP at 9 am, so I may not be around much.
Have a wonderful day whatever you choose to do.
Love
Daff xxxx
Jean, I am so sorry to hear that, as Daff says Centre Parcs seem to be good, hope you can find somewhere.
