Morning everyone... beautiful day here... I am back from the GP... Phew, that's a relief, then!!

My response to the prednisilone has shown that there is definitely *something inflammatory* going on... rheumatologist will hopefully define exactly what that is.. could be the RA they have suspected, although that doesn't show up yet on any of the blood tests.

The main thing is that we will treat it with painkillers as necessary... if pain becomes too bad, then onto a short course of prednisilone to reduce the inflammation. But... it is often difficult to get to see him, so we have arranged that a telephone consultation will be ok for the drugs to be authorised!! Breakthrough!!

So, we just sit tight and wait for the Rheumatologist referral to come through, and go from there.

My brother is calmer today... just spoken briefly to him... and hopefully his bloods were down a bit because of a viral infection of some sort.

I haven't heard from the other brother yet.... I'm not sure when they will be back.

Thank you so much for your support... Brother 1 couldn't believe that strangers would care, but then, he's never been on GR, lolol!!

Right, I am off in a moment, to the planning people... they are going to go over all my documents for me, to let me know exactly what sort of fence I can have, and how high, lol.... caravan man has taken extreme objection to my letters from the solicitor. But his latest might just shoot him in the foot... as if I am breaking the terms of my contract (I am not in the slightest) then so is he.... Oh well, onward and upward!!

Have a lovely day, everyone

Love

Huia Report 24 Sep 2009 19:59

Daff, what does Brother 1 mean by 'strangers'? We are not strangers, we are family. Of course some of us are rather strange, but what family doesnt have some weirdy or other in its cupboards?

Huia.

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 24 Sep 2009 20:27

Lol Huia.... you are absolutely right of course... but he really can't get his head around all that, although he was very touched at the same time. He just can't understand how people who have never met each other can call each other *friend* in the way that happens on GR. I think he is beginning to, a little bit... and he did seem very pleased as well.

I am off to bed soon... have had a busy day, and now am tired... been to the City planning department and chatted to one of the planners... very positive outcome, for me, anyway.

Then some shopping for food essentials... son is eating us out of house and home, lol

a couple of phone calls, playing silly devils on chat, and cooking dinner.... oh, and e-mailing solicitor fast and furiously, lol

Knackered now, lol!

I will see all you lovely people tomorrow, just popping over to Jean's thread to say goodnight first.

Loads of love

*does cartwheels through thread*

Yay!! Well, very pleasing.... my platelets are very slightly up, and my neutrophils, so all is well, he is very pleased with me, and doesn't need to see me for 6 weeks again, lol...... I am thrilled to bits... that will be almost the first anniversary of my first remission...... a very important time for me, lol It doubles my long term prognosis, lol!!

It was a little bit like a social event... lots of staff from the day clinic and the ward popping down, with a mini McMillan coffee morning going on... I quite enjoyed myself.

There were so many folk there, that the clinic overspilled into the IVF area... now, Pride and Prejudice was on the telly (our clinic doesn't have a telly) so I watched some of that... I had never seen it before, but will have to go and get it now........ I really enjoyed it.

Down side... I have put weight on!! I mentioned going on a diet, and was told not yet...... so Top Docs orders, lol Love that!

One of my sisters just phoned, she has been having a tough time recently. In the past, I would just listen and commisserate... but last time I told her that she had to help herself, no-one could do it for her, and that there were things she could do, but she kept putting up excuses and obstacles in her own way.. she was dead upset with me, called me some dreadful names and slammed the phone down on me.

Anyway.... she has just phoned, as I said... she wanted me to know that she has made the enquiries I suggested, quoting the qualifications she has and which I told her were valid.... and she hated to say it but I was right.... and would I help her download the forms, and fill them in with her on Sunday.... so she is coming over for dinner, and we will do them together. So hopefully she will be going back next year to do her PGCE.

She still had to have the final say, though.... why, says she, weren't you this blunt a few years ago? lolol!!

Still, I am so pleased for her, and fingers crossed it will be a new start to her life.

Now, I am all dressed up and nowhere to go.... R might have to go into work in a mo, he is waiting for a phone call... when B gets off the phone!!

So... what shall I do with myself?

Hobbycraft is calling!!

Aw thank yo Ann and BC.... I will raise me a glass or three tonight, lol... I have this HUGE Cheshire cat grin from ear to ear!! You know those happy moments when you are fit to burst and your eyes get leaky? Well, that's how I feel!

Now, I am off to light a couple more candles..... I reckon the more wishes and thoughts sent to our Jean, the better... I am sooooo hoping some of the magic will reach out to her as well, today.

Jac Report 25 Sep 2009 15:42

Afternoon girlies!!

Well good on you Daff!!! I'll have one with your name on it tonight, if you dont mind? Keep up the good work girl............cos it's obviously working well. I'm delighted that the news was good, I really am.

I've had a begger of a week - Monday friend who is having chemo was really poorly (but she's feeling much better now thank the Lord),

Tuesday my brother collapsed on the golf course with suspected heart attack (but, he's OK and back home now - something to do with his medication)

Wednesday went to see brother in hospital and the car park was full to overflowing and the traffic surrounding the hospital was reminiscent of the Arch de Triumph - manic and just as dangerous )))) Eventually found a spot and had to pretend I was attending the Clinic where the parking space was! norty I know, but otherwise I would be circling the hospital still. When I finally got to his bed I said shove over, my need is greater than yours!

Thursday had to get a flyer designed and emailed to the local Printers for a deadline, only to find that when after spending ages with no imagination forthcoming I managed to complete a worthy offering, the blessed thing kept bouncing back from their email address!!!! I'm hopeless on all things to do with computers so had to rush to print off hard copy and hand deliver it!

Today??? well after rising late I found next doors cats were prowling like little lions waiting for their grub and I was told off good and strong by both of them! I could have sworn the owners were only going on hols for a week - lol lol This is end of week 2!

Morrisons was full of the most objectionable people on the planet - the McVities Digestive Half-covered biscuits which keep me sane were not on offer any longer, and I forgot to get some dog biscuits for my grand-doggie!

This reads like a load of old tosh dont it? and so it is, compared with what a lot of others have to deal with on a daily basis, and I'm ashamed to be moaning - but I do feel better for getting it off my chest!)))

Your news has cheered me considerably though, and I'm just waiting now to hear how our Jean has got on today - hopefully some better news that earlier this week.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Bi for now
