Morning Anng and all,
You did have a good sleep Anng makes you feels so much better if you get a good few hours in.
Dull and dreary here too this morning and 9 degrees again so should'nt complain really but its so dreary.
Nothing planned for today so shall see what comes along I feel like doing.
I watched the Country file program last night to see these big pots you were talking about. It was the Whichford Pottery and I met that chap when I went to Chelsea flower show with mum years and years ago. He had a little garden set up there and I fell in love with it with its edgeing tiles and terracotta path and twisted box plants and of course his pots. Monty uses a lot of his pots in his garden and they are not cheap!!!!!
I have also been watching the old Call the Midwife on Iplayer. I liked the first ones better than the more modern ones.

Morning AnnG,
It's good you have slept well but I was was still awake at 3.00am, no doubt with the work next door still on my mind! The digger seems to be quite a small one so not too noisy up to now . There are tree trunks to be removed but the drive is blockpaved so no tarmac or concrete to break up. I don't know whether the drive is being redone as well yet but if it is those compacting machines are noisy! The dog barks at every sound the other side where the study is so OH would get no peace if we swapped. They may just be making more permanent hardstanding for their caravan. The deeds for our 4 bungalows built at the same times say we are not to park caravans at our properties as well!
Now I know how Vera was with her foot but I better get showered and make sure my computer is positioned so the camera will work!

Mel, maybe your keyboard is narrower than your old one. I still have some problems, especially with catching the caps lock key and I don't touch type so watching the keyboard a lot of the time. I think sometimes if you catch the control key it appears as if you have lost your post but it still seems to be there, can't rem, ember what I have done to retrieve it.
Good if there is no concrete to break up Ann, now that would be noisy. Maybe just taking out the trees and adding block paving where they were then. Hope they are leaving some area where the rain can drain.

Morning everyone
It’s grey, dreary, damp and cold here, only 1 deg. No, it’s just gone up to 2 degs.
It’s good you slept well AnnG. You probably needed sleep and everyone feels better after a few hours proper rest. I think I would have slept OK if OH hadn’t been making noises, snorting, snoring, clicking, whistling. Twice I made him turn over as that usually quietens him but it didn’t work this time so at 2 am I moved into the spare room with a cup of tea and my book.
I hope it doesn’t get any noisier for you Ann and you can manage to hear your Zoom meeting. I’m sorry that your foot is giving you problems and hope it will ease up a bit soon. I reckon our little group here could make one whole person between us, lol. Your OH comes out with some lovely sayings. I had to read out loud the bit about fleas in the ear and we both had a good laugh.
We could all do with cheering up at the moment and I’ve been laughing this morning at the antics of a little flock of bluetits. They have been flitting in and out of the shrubs and on and off the fence and hanging upside down while they poke into every little crevice. Our garden is very small but thank goodness we’ve got a garden. I can’t imagine what lockdown in a high rise flat must be like.
I have done nothing this morning except potter about so I had better get on and do something useful now.

Oh dear Vera, he was probably too comfortable. My OH used to snore really badly but stopped as soon as he gave up smoking. Do certain foods maybe make your OH snore. It is awful when they are sound asleep but keeping you awake. (I guess I would like the opportunity to put up with it now, but also guess I would soon be complaining). I have to admit as soon as T moved into the other room in September, I slept better. Well until November than he became a worry if he got up in the night, then it was like when you have children and sleep lightly in case they need you. Yes it was good to have a decent sleep.

Good afternoon you all,
Nothing to report.
Ros is sorting her makeup, sheseemsto have such a lot.
Simon phoned to see that we are both O.K. He's very thoughtful he never miss's ringing once a week. With him being retired, he has so much time on his hands. He does give the dogs TWO HOURS walk every morning o king etc. Sally poor girl, still has another 10 years before she can retire. She will stay in charge of THREE STATIONS, and continue with all these horrible shift hours.
F & C for me tonight, and Ros will have a Chicken Kiev. Not sure what time he will get to us, but I will be ready and waiting.I phone him with my order, then he brings it to the door, with the card reader. It saves me standing in the queue.
Really dull and overcast here today. I haven't been outside, so can't say if it's cold or not, I hope you are all well, will catch up again soon. xxxx

Evening all,
It's been cold today with a little sun at times so we went out into the garden and did a few jobs just moving some tubs that i had filled with the old christmas tree branches that i had put in the wood shed and with the log delivery coming on monday we thought we would move them out of the wood shed . We gave Max a good run round the garden i have decided not to walk him as the world and his wife are out dog walking now so best to keep away from people at the moment .
Gill i'm sorry to read your mum has covid now but she hasn't really helped herself with mixing so much ,i hope it's only a mild dose she has and feels better soon .
Hope you can get a better nights sleep tonight Vera ,if Colin snores i move into the front bedroom he like a fog horn when he gets going lol
Ann i hope the all work going on next door hasn't been to noisy for your zoom meetings today ,i had to smile at the fleas in the ear :-D
That's good some of you have your jabs sorted ,Colin had a call today to say did he want an appointment to have his ears cleaned (wax removed ) he told them no thanks not at the moment while all this is going on he would rather wait . I went to Boots today to collect our tablets but they weren't ready she said they would be ready this afternoon after three so i said i would have them friday so got to go out again now . They did have to close boots for a couple of days last week as one of the staff got the virus so they were all behind doing the tablets .
Looks like tomorrow is going to be a wet old day with some sleet too at times a day to keep in i think ,not that we can go anywhere .

Lol I thought I was on the wrong board for a moment there.
good morning all, grey, dry and 10 degrees. So not too bad but I woke up 'down in the dumps' this morning after quite a good sleep. I am sure it is more the lockdown/virus situation rather than our personal situation. but I have a 'what is it all for and where is it going' feel about me. I need to 'pull myself out of it' so take no notice.
Hope everyone had a reasonable sleep anyway. seems to be all we can wish for these days.

Morning Anng and all,
A bit windy and dull and dreary so it does,nt help[ with the situation we are in at all Anng.
We don't go out much anyway so its not a lot of difference for us We just carry on in our own little world behind this high wall doing our own thing.
I don't think Frank is looking at his messages or his emails as I have emaile3d him lots of info and not heard a word. Thats why I put that on the thread but I don't suppose he will even read it. He said a while ago he should get back to doing something on his tree so thought I would take a look as I have his tree from way back wehn I helped him get started.

Morning AnnG and All,
Another poor night getting off to sleep and woken by the lights opposite before 7.00am. The nurse practitioner wanted to see OH again this morning and has taken a swab as he thinks he has a bacterial infection as well now the fungal infection has cleared up. He still can't see the eardrum and will ring him next week when he has the swab results.
The workmen are here again, but they didn't make any noise loud enough to disturb us yesterday and nearly got finished, so I don't think they will be here long today. The digger was a small one and they haven't touched the drive. From what they did yesterday it seems they have just had the tree roots, soil and lawn taken away together with the slabs their caravan stood on and slate chippings like ours put down over the area.
I've ordered a shooting stick and once I have it I can see what height is best for a seat to use in the kitchen. Our kitchen isn't very big to keep a stool in there, but I have found an aluminium canvas seated seat that just closes together and can be kept between the wall and fridge freezer in the uti. It comes in 3 heights.
I like watching the Blue tits searching for food and the little Wren too. They are so quick and agile and waste no time!
Just dismal and raining outside like yesterday but warmer! We had an unusual visitor land on the fence yesterday. We haven't seen a Kestrel in the back field since it stopped being a meadow and cattle were brought in. We used to see one or two hovering there most days when we moved here but I expect there are less mice than there were before. I managed to get a blurry photo through the window and rain before it flew off again. I'll send it after lunch, which I'd better get started on. Easy scampi with a jacket pot and salad and coleslaw today.

Mel, I think Frank just posts and leaves, he doesn't seem to remark on any of the other posts so it may be he doesn't see your family history post anyway.
Ann will be interested in the folding seat, sound like a good thing to have for emergencies.

Morning all
We are a sleepless lot aren’t we? We all need a bang on the head with a rubber hammer. I had another bad night. I am getting a lot of sick headaches lately, not full blown migraines but bad enough. I think I am a bit stressed with things going on with family and friends and being stuck indoors all the time.
Sorry you are feeling down AnnG. I am not surprised with all your stresses at the moment and the winter weather. It’s been pouring here since the middle of the night again and is only 3 degs so another miserable day. It’s quite windy too.
I’ve just completed a Sainsbury order for this Saturday. It’s a smaller one than usual but I am fairly well stocked and I have Tesco barely a week later.
I’ve been waiting for a phone call since 9.30. If it doesn’t come soon I shall have to go out to pick up my meds. OH wants to take advantage of being able to go out for an essential reason to give the car a little run around and make sure the battery is well charged so it’s always ready for emergency use. We’ll stay local so it won’t get a good run but at least it’ll give the engine a chance to tick over a bit.
OH is hovering now so I’d better get my coat on, grab our masks and other bits and go.

sick headaches are horrid Vera, maybe it is lack of fresh air not helping.
just to make my day I walked down the road to the post box and decided to take my new access card to what was the NAAFI and is now Cost Cutters to get it verified by using the pin. Got there, shop shut for maintenance, probably until mid February.. Oh well at least I had a walk. But the walk didn't get me out of the doldrums, telling myself there are a lot worse off doesn't help either. Sorry to offload on here, don't really want to spread misery but my mind keeps telling me that the best is all behind me, finding it hard to see anything to look forward to in the future. But that is more our personal situation I know. I badly need a reason for looking forward and try as I might I can't find one. Somebody give me a good shake. :-)

Think your right about Frank popping in and posting too. He used to post a lot during the day at one time. Too engrossed in his books I expect but we hav'nt heard from him today yet.
I hav'nt done my hair today as I hurt my arm in the night getting the covers over me after a visit to the loo. It made me shout out but oh snored on. I don't mind his snoring like some of you do with your hubbies. At least I know he's ok as sometimes he stops breathing for ages and that keeps me awake.
Vera sorry to hear you have a fuzzy head today and I expect it is all the worry of your brothers health and other things that are causing it. Have you tried eating beetroot as thats supposed to help with migraines? Hope you feel better after a little ride out in the car and different scenery iot will be a nice change.
So Ann you have found a nice suitable shooting stick that you think will be ideal for the kitchen and when you go out and have to wait in ques (sp).
I have to fill all our pill boxes today so I better get on with it.
