Did you watch country file Ann, they had a potter on there making huge garden pots the piece of clay was massive.

Did anyone watch the first of the Pembrokeshire murders based on a true case. I thought it was very good it is a three parter.

Good morning didn't really sleep all that well after 4am dozes, slept a bit and laid awake. Probably had five hours sleep but do feel tired this morning. I think my brain was trying to work out what could be wrong with T's phone. Ironic when he has spent many years of the last 20 fixing other people's mobiles.

8 degrees out there been raining overnight but dry at the moment.

Good morning AnnG and all

Sorry you didn’t sleep well AnnG. Perhaps you can get a nap later. Same sort of weather here, overnight rain and a tropical 7 degs.

I’ve no plans for today. I wonder what the day will bring.

Morning Anng and Vera,

Been raining here too and its dull and miserable. More tropical here Vera its 9.1 degrees here. Still a bit windy too.

My morning is planned out for me today as I have the big wipe down. They have done it again and subbed my wine with blossom Hill Zinderfel instead of my Gallo White Grenach. I never did get the refund for the two bottle sent back just before Christmas.

Gillx Report 12 Jan 2021 10:43

Hi all

sunny here today after a damp night, the rain was quite heavy so the garden is soaked this morning.

Sandra's feeling okay at the moment although she has a massive black bruise on her knee.

My mum's been tested positive for Covid, then rang me to see if Sandra could go shopping for her. Sandra didn't want to go and I don't blame her so I had to say no to mum. I can't believe she asked.

I've been really anxious about the virus all year as mum knows but she tried to make me feel bad about not going round to her's. I said to call age uk as they would help her with her shopping, but I found out later that she asked her neighbour in the end.

I did say to mum that she's have to let everyone know that she's been in contact with so they could have a test done and yesterday Sandra got a call off her cousin saying mum had been in touch. Her cousin is the one who took his children to mum's on Boxing day, my sister and mum's friend were there at the same time so they'll all have to have a test done now. My sister is a carer and mum's friend is in her 90's and has health issues. I still don't think mum is going to abide by the rules, she'll probably think because she's had the virus she can go anywhere she likes now, so nothing will have changed.

Yes, I watched the first of the Pembrokeshire murders AnnG and will be watching the second one tonight.

Sorry to hear about Colin's SIL Mandy, this virus is awful isn't it. She was a good age though.

Sorry to hear about your brother Vera, I hope he recovers soon.

Sandra had to have her phone back in the condition it was given to the shop as there is a delay on the new screen being delivered with lockdown being in place. They said they didn't want to take it apart incase the screen cracked and broke otherwise she wouldn't of been able to use it at all, so at the moment she's using it with 20% of the screen not working, luckily she has her tablet so is using that as well. It's not perfect not being able to use her phone properly but it's better than nothing. All she can do is wait for the shop to ring her when the new screen arrives, then she can drop it off again to be fixed. They said it should only take 2 hours to do.

OH's got another appointment for his second dose of the vaccine on Thursday as the last one was cancelled so he should be up to 95% covered from the virus about a week later. The only problem is he's working nights the night before so will have to come home grab a couple of hours sleep then travel to the hospital for his jab then come home and go back to bed. Thankfully they've changed his shifts so he's no longer working Thursday night now, so he'll be able to catch up on some sleep before he's back on nights on Friday. He's not going to know if he's coming or going for a few days and will probably feel quite tired.

Good morning Vera, Mel and Gill.

Gill it was only a matter of time before your Mum caught the virus, I hope she is not too ill with it. If the family have not seen her since boxing day that is 17 days, I would think it highly unlikely that she was positive way back then. I hope the neighbour who shops for her leaves the shopping and stands well away from the door and has no contact with your Mum.

I am pleased that Sandra refused to shop for her, you don't want he catching it. Does your Mum live near enough for Sandra to get there then?

Just had my letter and managed to phone (and just about hear) the surgery. Got my vaccination on Friday (15th) at 2.21pm and second one on 26 March at 2.21pm

Frank Report 12 Jan 2021 12:42

What am I like, I could have swore I posted this morning, but can't see it anywhere.

Had very restless night last night, Ros said I had something in my hand that I kept BANGING on my bedside cabinet. She had to come and take it away from me. I wonder what that was all about.

I had my new printer inks arrive this morning. I tried fitting them, without success. I phoned Jonathan and he has been round and sorted it for me.

I am trying to COPY something for Ros, but I just won't do it. If and when I do get it to work, it will spill out about a dozen copies.

Ros has an appointment for her COVID injection for Friday 2.20 pm at the same places I went. So she will be there for a LONG WHILE.

I have rung Jonathan AGAIN. to ask if he can pop rounf=d AGAIN to sort out the Blooming Printer, before I throw it out of the window. !!!!

Take care and stay safe. xxxx

Now now Frank take a deep breath and count to ten.

I have been a very busy bee today. First of all I got my hair up out of the way today for the first time in weeks. I then hoovered up all the little tiny spiders that keep appearing in the diner part of the kitchen and then found three lots of spider eggs on the windows in the corners which the hoovers would'nt suck up so I got a wooden skewer amd stuck it in one and twisted it and it came away easily but I could'nt reach the other two on the ceiling wood. Oh did those for me. Then I deep cleaned the sink and all around it and the draining basket and bleached everything, boiled the dish clothes and did all the work tops ready for the delivery which arrived just as I finished the sink.

Did the big wipe down and sent back the two bottles of wine. Got lunch, went up after and brought down the recykling box, fed the birds and corned the chickens and now I am having 5 mins sit down and reading your posts.

Afternoon All,

Dull again here but I slept well and had a lie in this morning. From the bedroom window OH spotted our nextdoor neighbour out with the Westie and chatting with the couple that live opposite him this morning. He called me over to see that there was barely 4 foot between them!

Gill sorry your mum tested positive for Covid, but she hasn't been very careful like you say. I agree it does sound like she picked it up over Christmas and the New Year. I don't know when she had her test but she probably had symptoms for a day or two before then and didn't think it was covid. I hope she doesn't get it badly and don't blame Sandra for not shopping. It's not as if there was no other way to get her shopping. I have looked up our local community groups who can help.....just in case, but with online shopping it would only be our medication and we could do that online too if well enough.

Oh dear Frank I hope you have calmed down. Our (rather old) printer takes a while and a lot of noise before it is ready to print after switching cartridges and if you think it hasn't worked and press to print before it is ready you get a number of copies. Sometimes you have to empty what is 'queuing' to print to get it to carry on too. That's good Ros has her appointment as well now. They must be getting through the age groups fast where you are as I think Ros is not much older than me.

That's good you have your vaccination appointments through too AnnG and not long to wait. Thanks for mentioning the 2 programmes. I record Countryfile but haven't watched that episode so will look forward to seeing those Pots. The other prog sounds up my street too so I will record that one.

Glad you've got the wipe down done Mel, you don't seem destined to get the right wine! I am finding once they are out of stock with something it can take weeks before it is back. My word you have been busy! Got your hair up too which is good. I keep seeing new webs appearing and need to get the web brush out! We had some of their 2 frozen, crumbed chicken fillets with a jacket, salad and some home made coleslaw today, but I wouldn't bother with the chicken again as it was tasteless.

On with some more beading for now. :-)

Chicken chow mean for me tonight.

T did just about manage to get through on the phone but was having a lot of trouble talking. Daughter managed to get through to the hospital and got his nurse to ring back. He said T had been very sleepy this morning and didn’t want to do anything so they have taken another blood test. We are hoping he has not got another infection. He seems to get one every time he moves.

Sorry to hear about your Mum, Gill, but not really surprised. She does seem to have ignored a lot of the advice. I hope she has a mild dose as I wouldn’t wish it on anybody. She shouldn’t need to ask Sandra or neighbours to shop for her. If she can’t manage to shop online most areas have a volunteer group set up and her local council can give her the details.

It’s good you have your jabs sorted AnnG and Ros. I hope Ros doesn’t have a long wait. Is yours at your surgery AnnG? Three of our over 80s friends were contacted yesterday and given appointments for Friday and I was wondering why OH hadn’t heard, but he had a phone call from the surgery this afternoon. He has an appointment on Saturday and they said they will do me at the same time. If it’s a couple and one is over 80, provided the other one isn’t too much younger, the surgery is offering a joint appointment.

You’ve been very busy today Mel. Be careful not to overdo it with your arm. I know from my foot that it is so easy to think you’re OK, do too much and pay for it the next day. You’ll have to chase up that wine refund, that’s a lot of money to lose.

Computers and printers can be so frustrating Frank. Good job you’ve got Jonathan to help you. I’m glad you posted as it reminded me I’ve got to change an ink cartridge in ours. I should have done it when the ink ran out but I was busy so thought I’d do it later and then forgot all about it.

Ann, my late mil used to make pots and had her own small kiln. Some of her bits were lovely and some not quite so lovely. She once made me a set of mugs in a lovely mottled green but they held nearly a pint and when they were full they were so heavy you couldn’t lift them, but I still have a vase thing she made me that I am very fond of.

Time to start thinking about dinner. I’ve got some gammon out of the freezer and I think I might do cauliflower cheese with it. I hope you all have a good evening and a restful night.

Vera mine is in the village community centre next to the doctors surgery. Up until two years ago, before the surgery moved, our flu jabs were always there it is a very large room so plenty of space for people to be well socially distant. Reading on the local web site it is very well organised.. there are three surgeries using the centre but .i think being allotted separate days,

I.m pleased you have your jabs sorted Anng and Vera and other half.

Vera we had gammon yesterday. Hope yours is as good as ours was as soemtimes they can be tough.

I have just spotted some things for Frank,s tree and sent them to him. I hope he can sort it out as he has the wrong father at the top of his tree.

Annx Report 12 Jan 2021 20:41

I have a sheet of paper somewhere with some of Frank's tree I had altered after thinking it was wrong Mel. It meant he was barking up the wrong tree so to speak! I never bothered at the time as no-one else was suggesting it was wrong! I must see if I can find it and see where I thought it was wrong..

Gosh the appointments are flying in and now and Vera and B have dates for theirs too. It sounds like your venues are much better than ours will be. Typical here that the pick the area that has been the most infectious since early last year to have them. I would have been very interested in your MIL's pots Vera and been asking to help make them! lol.

Hubby heard today of someone who attends some of his meetings and who spent Christmas with family getting covid and now they all have had to self isolate.

Let me know if you like the kievs Mel. Hubby didn't used to be keen as he doesn't like as much garlic as I do, but he'll have them if I do! (FOMO!)

I had to undo the first 2 rows of beading as I went wrong, but have sorted it and made a bit more progress,

OH has told me today that the trouble with his ear was due to all the fleas I'd given him in it! :-)

OMG, just had an email from next door to say work is starting on their front garden with a digger arriving early in the morning! I have a zoom course and OH works really close to their drive and has zoom meetings later on. They have said it will take 3 days. :-S We thought it strange they had moved their caravan up the drive, now we know why. At least they let us know though, so at least we can move where OH works if needs be.

AnninGlos Report 13 Jan 2021 08:58

Good morning all. Very wet here and very dark but 6 degrees so not too cold. The only trouble is it always feels cold when it is dark and wet outside even if it is not.

Ann, I hope early was not too early and that the noise is not too great. Also hope OH can place himself well away from the noise and it doesn't affect your zoom meeting. I suppose this is what people home schooling and working from home have to contend with all the time. hopefully some of the work with be manual so not too noisy. Hve they got concrete or tarmac to dig up forst/ That will be the noisy bit.

I slept well last night, about 11.30 to 5.30, up for the loo, then woke at about 7am next I knew it was 8.20am. Must have needed it.
