Morning two Ann's and all,
Bright and sunny morning here with a lovely pale blue sky. I have to amend the Asda order today which always take a while as oh likes to look at it.
Bit achey this morning but nothing to worry about mainly my hands from all the cutting with the secs. Oh has just asked me what part of the garden I am going to destoy today? He says its going to rain tomorrow.
Better get on as I want to use all the dry weather I can.

Morning all
Grey and very misty here. I think the mist might be just starting to clear.
I slept well from about midnight till 5 this morning but couldn’t get back to sleep after that so I got up at 7. I’ve had a shower this morning anid managed OK till it came to stepping out on to the bath mat. The shower tray is only about 6” off the ground but trying to step out with my good foot while balancing on the heel of the bad one was quite dodgy and, being a bit independent, I don’t want to keep calling for help from OH. I haven’t spoken to anyone about the foot as I think it is getting better. I still can’t put any weight on it but I am managing to hobble and hop around a little bit though I am still very reliant on my trusty table chariot :-). Ann, we had both completely forgotten that we have 2 office chairs with wheels in the study upstairs. Thanks for the reminder. One is a big executive desk chair but the other is a typist’s type chair and OH brought that down. It’s designed to swivel and move easily and that was the problem. It moved too easily. One little push off with my foot and I went scooting off up the hall and nearly bashed into a wall. After a couple of tries I decided I didn’t feel safe enough so it was back to the table.
I usually have all my washing done before now but the first load is only just finishing. It takes so long when OH helps ;-). Yesterday he had another disaster. He took a jar of jam from the top of our big upright fridge and dropped it from that height. The jar didn’t have a chip or crack in it but the floor tile it landed on had a chunk knocked out. He’s trying to fill it in and colour it to match over the next day or two. We do still have 2 spare tiles but he doesn’t want to have to replace it unless necessary as it won’t be an easy job.
Gill, I’m sorry to hear you are not well again and hope you are feeling a bit better today. You do seem very susceptible to things like sore throats which is odd as you don’t go out anywhere to pick up infections. I worry that you have got run down because you are not eating enough and not getting enough fresh air. Is it worth a word with your doctor to see if he has any suggestions to help you? If I’m nagging it’s only because we all want to see you fit and well and posting again. Take care.
I hope every one else’s aches and pains are improving and that your MOT was OK Ann. I must now take my chariot and go and sort out the washing.

Don't know if it is the same where the rest of you are, but Morrisons in Cheltenham have re-installed the restrictions they had during the lockdown. Apparently, marshalls on the door, hand gel at door, single people in, numbers monitored, arrows back and single queue to pay. And also saw that people are panicking and booking slots. I booked one for 9th October just now and the slots are going fast. People are expecting a second lock down.

Hi all, I started to post and it disappeared yet again.
Hope your car passed it's MOT Ann.
Vera you seem to be struggling with that foot, please see about going to the Dr to have it checked.Vera what is your CHARIOT. ???
Gill, Have you beed checked for COVID ?? If not, it might be a good idea to do so. You never know how easy it it to pick up these things.
Ros has lost a crown on the tooth. (IT'S COME OUT) She has an appointment at the Dentist for 3.00 pm. They have sent a confirmation Email with a question and answer as long as your arm. We have filled it in and sent it off. They also asked for all the medications that she is on. As there are so many, my reply to that was. WILL BRING LIST WITH HER.
We had a very pleasant afternoon with Nicola and Jonathan. He prepared a lovely salad and coleslaw, Garlic bread to go with. BURGERS We didn't outstay our welcome, and came home around 7.00 pm.
Ros is busy ironing the wash she did on Saturday. While I have been sitting on the patio, reading yesterday's paper and sports supplement. The sun feels nice and warm on my back.
Tony has "RINGO" a neighbour from across the road, clearing the bushes and trees from his boundary with his other neighbour. I think he will then have a small fence to separate the gardens, rather than the wire fence that is there at present.
I see the forecast is saying, we will be getting colder days as from tomorrow. So keep yourselves wrapped up, if you are going out walking. See I do think about you. xxx ;-) ;-) Going back to my paper, and I might even start reading my book again.
I am pleased to report, I have only had one nasty turn this morning. So things are looking up. xxxx

You’ve made my day Frank because you sound so much perkier :-D. My “chariot” is an old, small coffee table. I’ll send a photo round so everyone can see what I am talking about. Our lounge and bedroom are carpeted but the rest of the downstairs is tiled. It’s a big area and my “chariot” whizzes me around quite well.
I hope Ros gets on OK with the dentist. Is he a new one? If she has been to him before he should already have her meds listed. With our dentist we just sign each time to confirm there have been no changes.

The car passed ok so that is good for another year now. The traffic along the road where the garage is is is so busy these days and their forecourt is only deep enough to just to turn onto at right angles and be clear of the pavement. When I called back to pick it up they had reversed it onto a space and it was pointing slightly towards the right, the way home! How thoughtful as it can be a devil reversing onto the busy road. When I asked how they were doing they said they are finding many people are booking cars in and then just not turning up. :-S As if businesses don't have enough problems now without people letting them down without them letting them know. No charge for resetting the service indicator or blowing the tyres up for me.
Oh Vera, I did wonder if you might get in a spin on a computer wheeled chair!! You need 'L' plates. :-D Good job your OH wasn't in the way as you accelerated down the hall. :-0 It sounds as if the trusty chariot is your best bet after all and it looks made for the job! Could you place something outside the shower door to make an extra step so it is less of a drop to get in and out for now? Something like a piece of slab or short plank of wood wrapped in an old towel might help.
Sounds like you enjoyed your barbecue with your old neighbours Frank. That was unlucky Ros losing a crown, but at least she can get it fixed. After a while the anxiety attacks will be less worrying which will help them happen less often.
I must look at the Asda site and slots AnnG. Luckily I don't have to book them now, they are every fortnight. I had thought about changing to a week day, but don't want to mess anything up if the slots are becoming less available. How is your shoulder and is your OH any better today? We watched this morning's announcement and it does look like things will be tightened up in tomorrow's update.
I wonder if Mel has got that branch off her shed yet?

OMG. I have had more ANXIETY ATTACKS this morning. It really takes it out of me. I try sitting and taking DEEP BREETH, and it easies slightly. I do wish I could find why this happens.
Vera that is a great little table you have, and it allows you to get around, which is the main thing. Do be careful you don't put it into OVERDRIVE. We don't want to see you flying though the door/window. :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 Has your OH had to alter it in any way. ??
Ros has been going to this dentist for years. It's the first time we have had to fill out this type of form. So it might be a new system, she will ask when she goes.
I have spoken to a nice young lady from RAFA (Royal Air Force Association) who is putting me in touch with the local branch in Northampton. She seems to think they will be able to help with some or all of the cost of a motorbillity scooter. So I will wait for someone to ring, I can only hope they can get me mobile.
I have managed a sandwich and a coffee at lunchtime. Ros has Lamb chops out for tonight, with roasts and veg. I hope my appetite allows me to eat it.
Beautiful sunny afternoon here, I hope it's with you all as well. Tomorrow is ALL CHANGE. :-( :-( :-( Take care all. xxxx

You must feel like a kid again riding your chariot Vera. It does look very sturdy and I hope the casters hold out. Going back to getting out of the shower. Would it not be better to come out backwards tht way you could get your good foot over the ledge and then the bad one. Just a thought. :-D What a nuisance about the chipped tile on the floor outside the fridge. I hope he threw the jam away just incase the jar chipped inside. YOu could always use the jam in a home made wasp trap. I have four outside two by the dustbin and two by the bird table. The ones by the bird table have hornets in them.
Yes Ann I got the branches off the top of my shed this morning after putting two lots of washing out. It is really Gongalong weather here today but dealing with brimbles I don't want to catch them and tear them. My second pair arrived and they are not the colour on the advert but quite a nice sh*tty browny. Oh asked if I checked the pockets to see if they also had a hole in them. I hav'nt.
You do sound a lot brighter Frank and its good the funny turns have eased off a bit. You don't tell us about Tony's Val now. How is she getting on? Does she sit out on the decking they have had laid?
Hope Gill is feeling a bit better today and the headache is passing. Too much time on the pc looking up all those rellies I think and forgetting to eat when hubby is at work.

Meant to say we had a spotted woodpecker on the fat feeder in the garden this morning. I put it on the bird thread but guess nobody would read it there. Of course I didn’t have the camera down here.

Good morning to you all,
After a very sleepless night, I feel like nothing on earth this morning. I bet I was clock watching for at least 3 hours during the night. Was going to have a lay in but the workmen next door, was making so much noise, I got up.
Val next door, appears on the patio for a few minutes now and again, then disappears for hours. The other evening, we heard a BIG BANG. We think she fell off her chair, but nothing was mentioned when we spoke to Tony.
Good news, I have had a call from RAFA regarding funding for a scooter. They need a note from the Dr. to say that I would be able to cope with driving one. Then look into my finances. (that won't be difficult) :-0 :-0 :-0. They will then allocate a member of staff to take me through the process. How long that will be, is anyones guess. !!!
It's a nice morning again here, with warm sunshine. All doors and windows open with a light breezedrifting through.
Ros hasn't gone shopping with Carolyn,as she has an upset tummy and needs to be close to the loo. ;-) ;-) ;-) She has had a COT and a piece of toast, so will see how she goes.
Nothing else to report. I will see what she might fancy for dinner tonight, and take it from there.
Trust that you are all well. Speak again soon. xxxx
Thought I had better mention I had one of my turns this morning, but went off very quickly.

Frank sorry you had another attack this morning but its good it went off quickly. You don't think you have them because Ros leaves you on your own a lot? Just a thought.
I have done a bit more tidying behind the shed and then the delivery has just arrived so you know what I shall be doing for the next hour.

Frank was the short turn you had this morning because you were tired and worried about Ros not being well. Stress brings them on so try and stay relaxed.
Well we made a baby step forward this morning we both went to get the shopping in the local Tesco. OH got up and had a shower then decided he would drive and come shopping with me. It is literally 5 minutes round the corner and he had not yet taken his first Cocodomol so there was not much of it isn his system to make him sleepy. He managed very well, took a trolley from next to where the car was parked and used that to walk with. We got all we wanted, no sign of panic buying there and hardly anyone in the store at 10.30 to 11.15. He did have to lie down when we got home after he'd had a coffee and a currant bun. He has just got up again so better go and see how he is.
He was going to have his eyes checked tomorrow at our opticians but as he is not due until February he has decided he doesn't need to go because the hospital checked his eyes. I was a month overdue for my check up so we were able to swop the appointment so I have an opticians appointment tomorrow.

Hallo everyone
Bright and sunny here but as I can’t walk round the garden I don’t know how warm it is. Looks nice weather out there.
My foot is getting a bit better everyday. I can move it much more freely now and put it flat to the floor so it's on the mend and I can manage to walk, or rather hobble, about a bit. The problem still is that it won’t bear my weight yet. Stepping forwards or backwards out of the shower or the height of the step makes no difference. As soon as I lift my good foot I’m having to take my weight on the bad one. I showered yesterday and I’ll have another go tomorrow so a wash will do for today. I am just cross because, having got over a bad back and a bad head, I could have got on with tidying in the garden. There’s lots to do out there.
OH, bless him, is doing the ironing. I said I thought I could manage to do it or it could be left for a few days but he’s getting on with it. It’s the one household job he doesn’t normally touch. I’d really prefer him not to do some tops of mine but I don’t want to seem ungrateful so I haven’t said anything. This afternoon will be fun - it’s wipe down day so I am not sure how we will manage that. Usually he carries everything into the kitchen, then leaves me alone to do things my way.
Mel, I am not at all surprised your back’s sore with all that heavy garden work you have been doing. Rest up for a day or two to give it a chance to settle down.
Frank, it sounds as though you are doing well with controlling your anxiety attacks. They won’t disappear overnight but they will get fewer and fewer in time and you will learn to nip them in the bud. See if a nurse at the surgery can teach you some breathing exercises. At the ripe old age of 58 I learnt to ride a horse. At first I was quite tense, gripping the reins and with my shoulders hunched up. My instructor showed me how to breathe in through my nose to a slowish count of 4 and out through my mouth to a count of 8. It does help relax the tense muscles and it gives your mind something to focus on. It’s good news too that you might get help to get a mobility scooter. You would at least be able to pop down the road if you fancied a change of scene. I hope Ros is recovering from her upset tum.
I hope Jane is keeping comfortable. Sending her a gentle hug <3
OH has just finished the ironing and says he has left my tops laid out flat as he doesn’t know how to fold them. I’m glad he hasn’t tried to fold them as they are usually on hangers. I’ll get the chariot and go and find the hangers now. Enjoy the rest of the day whatever you are doing.

Its good your foot is getting slowly better Vera and I hope it carries on doing so . Oh never irons in this house but I know he can as when he was in the fire service he had to do all his own shirts etc.
Did my wipe down but we had lunch half way through. I only had one of the three plastic boxes to do and most of it was tonight chinese and a couple of other bits. They have sent me three 4 pint bottles of milk and I only order two so I shall have tyo check my order. I had two bottles in the fridge and it only takes three bottles in the door so got out the others and oh drank the one with the most in and I have just had an valtine with what was ledt in the other. waste not want not. :-D
Backs not too bad now. I was trying to lifttwo sacks of leaf mould I have made over the last 3 or 4 years but something has grown roots through them and they are on paving slabs and I can't lift them up. I have now walked all the way up the border to get my trusty spade and I shall shove that under them and then put the leaf litter in a chicken food sack as the two bin liners I had them in are disintegrating as I try lifting them.
There's loads of leaves coming off our trees and I think its going to be an early Autumn this year.
Its raining that very fine mizzle here, started just before lunch so oh had to stop what he was doing as he was getting wet. He's now trying to fix our mini digger as it keeps overheating and he is trying to get to the water pumper as he thinks that has gone. I can hear soft snoring fromt he bedroom so he must be watching the back of his eyelids as Mandy would say.
