oh yes, Happy birthday Ros, hope our Frank is spoiling you.
Oh dear vera what on earth have you done. did you look to see if there was a pebble or something you could have stood on I hope it goes off by tomorrow. Have you tried frozen peas under your foot or a heat pad or both alternated. We oldies are so delicate these days with no exercise aren't we?
The water came back on about half an hour ago. It was a burst water main and Severn Trent sent out an apology on line. All back now. We don't value our water supplies enough do we. I did actually have a full kettle and also a bottle of water half used from when we went to Lyn's.

Afternoon Everyone,
Another sunny but bit breezy day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ROS. Hope she likes her pressies and that you enjoy your meal..
Frank I also had my suspicions as some of the things you said rang a bell. Having had them myself I know how dreadful you feel with them, like any moment you might die! It is why I am on a beta blocker now. Also, I found they never happened when I actually felt stressed. Vera is right about doing the breathing exercises......I have managed to pull back from the brink of one a few times by doing them and find I do them automatically now if I start to feel a bit strange.
Oh no AnnG, not you with water supply problems now. I'm glad it is fixed again now. You are right, we take our water supply for granted don't we.
Oh Vera, you poor thing hurting your foot like that! It must be so painful if you couldn't walk at all. I hope some rest soon helps.
Well we had a bit of drama last night. The 'mermaid' had to shout for help as he got stuck in the bath and hurt his back trying to get out as it was slippy with bubblebath. I managed to help him and think we will have to get a small mat for nim to use. As soon as he was in his jimjams the electric went off, street lights everything so it was pitch dark. We managed to grope our way to find the torch in the porch which was very dim with almost flat batteries. Then we lit a decorative candle I keep in the lounge while we found fresh torch batteries. I thought I'd thrown out the scented candles I had in the uti, but found those and lit a couple. We were just getting in bed and all of a sudden the power was back on so we blew out the candles and watched the Dennis Nilson prog and started to watch the news after and the power went off again!! More lighting of candles to go to the loo and the power was back again! We have decided to get 2 new brighter led torches to keep in the bedside cabinets. There is a gas camping light SOMEWHERE in the garage, but you don't really want to be faffing with that in the dark.
Today I decided to go for a run in my car to blast off any build up that might affect the emissions test for it's MOT on Monday. Switched on and the display said the service is due and the tyres are underinflated!! No way could my knees cope with the footpump just now and OH was at a footie match about 30 miles away. I checked for a flat tyre......all good so I set off and, as expected once the tyres were warm and had more pressure, the warning went off. I will get the garage to blow them up on Monday and also move the service date forward as the car has only done 2000 miles since the last service with not being used much. Again, no social distancing in the outdoor areas of the pubs I passed.
They have closed an indian hotel in the area that is being locked down next week after they held a wedding with over 200 guests and no social distancing.
OH painted the top of the side fence today and said it is all going rotten and needs replacing. We'd like to have one of those metal fences that don't need repainting and have a 25 year guarantee, BUT our neighbour that side has ruined 2 of our fences with letting his ivy and other creepers grow over it and break it apart, even after we told him when it happened to the first fence. :-S I'm not sure the guarantee would be honoured if that happened.

Oops you doubling up now Ann. Since my oh got stuck in the bath and couldn’t lever himself out( he had a bad shoulder at the time) he has never had another bath, just showers.. our last bath had a handle either side which made getting out easy, the current one doesn’t have any handles.

We have handles either side of our bath but neither of us bath we just use the shower and I wash me hair over the bath.
Ann you should get yourself a rechargeable torch. I have one oh bought me two years ago and its great. Also have a head light thas rechargable too for when I go and shut the big girls in in the winter.
I have been out in the garden clearing behind my shed as it was covered in brambles and I coudl'nt get round there. I had a huge pile I had pulled out of the holly tree and had to work my way right round the holly to get back out because of all the brambles behind me. Nearly done now and I shall have another go tomorrow and get the fork in there to get the cut down stuff out. There's quite a space behind my shed and I think lots of stuff could be stored there instead of it being around the garden.

Oops I've caught the multiplying post too as you say AnnG! :-D Deleted it now.
Mel thanks for suggesting that about a rechargeable torch. I never thought of that.......good idea!
Our bath has side handles, but the bathsoak he likes to wallow in made the bottom of the bath slippy so they weren't much help. He is also heavier than he was a year ago which didn't help either. I stopped having baths years ago and prefer showers, partly because getting out of the bath started to hurt my knees and getting too hot would sometimes start panic attack feelings, We have a shower over the bath and one in the ensuite as well and he does have a daily shower, but he still likes lying in the bath with his battery radio on as well! He has talked about us having one of those baths you walk in and sit in, which I'm not so keen on and I don't think he would find sitting as relaxing as laying down. :-S :-S I wouldn't want a wet room as the water goes everywhere, just a nice big shower with a seat that would be good for the future!
He said there were only 15 spectators at the match he went to so he could keep well away from everyone and he didn't need to touch anything so didn't even need to use his sanitiser.
Off to bed now to watch Vera I recorded.

Good morning everyone (well, it was morning when I started)
It looks as though it is going to be a beautiful day.
I’m sorry to hear your arm is painful AnnG I hope it improves soon. Take it carefully today. What a lot of old crocks we are.
What a to-do you had Ann struggling with your mermaid (merman?) in the bath and then having the electric on and off. OH hasn’t bathed for years and I generally shower but occasionally I like a good wallow. Our bath is long and deep but I have an extra long rubber mat for the bottom which stops me slipping and sliding. I still wonder if I am going to be able to bath for much longer as it is deep to step over to the floor.
Did you manage to go out with Ros last night Frank? I hope you did and were able to relax and enjoy yourself a bit.
I’m sending good wishes and positive thoughts to Elizabeth, Island and Jane <3. Where is Gill? I hope she is OK.
We had some nice news a couple of days ago. We have a new little twig for the family tree. She is my first cousin twice removed. I told you we were a close knit family ;-). The father is my cousin’s son, his wife is Spanish and they live in Spain. It was an emergency Caesarean and the baby weighed less than 6 lbs. We’ve had an email with 3 lovely photos. The sad thing is that neither baby’s English grandparents nor her Spanish ones can get to see her because of current restrictions.
I was surprised to have a good night last night in spite of my foot. It is fractionally better today in that I can put my foot flat on the floor if I am sitting but I still can’t put any weight on it at all so if I need to stand I can only rest the edge of my heel on the floor. Getting from our lounge to the downstairs bedroom last night was a nightmare and took about 10 minutes with OH walking backwards supporting me as I tried to balance on one heel while moving the good foot a step forward. We got into the hall which is tiled and I thought I’d try hopping on my good foot, but I had bare feet and stuck to the tiles so I nearly went flying. By the time we got to the bedroom we both collapsed on the bed exhausted. At the time I was close to tears but I can laugh this morning as we must have looked so funny.
Then OH disappeared and came back with a battered old coffee table that sits in the conservatory and usually has some seed trays or little pots on it with cuttings etc. It’s very small. The top is about the size of the seat of a dining chair, but it has casters so is easily moved. What a brilliant idea OH had :-). I sit on the table and use one foot to propel myself along. It’s easiest going backwards. It’s harder on carpet but I’m a whizz on tiles. Yesterday I thought something might be broken, now I don’t think it’s that bad so I am not calling 111 or going to A & E today but I will ring my doctors’ surgery if I still can’t put any weight on it tomorrow.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day. This is “coffee table Connie” signing out.

Morning All,
Sunny but cool out of the sun. I slept quite well and woke at 6.00am but didn't get up till after 9.00am. Nothing aches by morning so it makes me reluctant to get up! :-) Sorry to hear your arm aches AnnG. I managed to get a sharp pain in my shoulder trying on some old T shirts the other day, but was lucky as it is ok now. I plan to sort a few more things today but would really like to find the bag of 'extras' I got with my non digital camera years ago as I have a sneaky suspicion they may fit a more recent camera I have. OH nearly fell off the bed looking in top cupboards for me but it wasn't there so I think it may be in the top cupboards over the bed in another bedroom.
OH is tackling the ivy and creepers growing through and over our fence another day as he is still aching from painting the other tops of the fence yesterday. He can't finish painting till he clears all the ivy off the rest. It is a bit annoying as we don't let anything grow over his side.
We have the huge pork joint substitute Asda sent cooking away in the oven now. It is supposed to feed 6 so it looks like some may be eaten with salad or on sandwiches tomorrow. Better go and make the apple sauce ready.

O Vera what a todo you had trying to get to bed last night. Sounds like high jinks to me. Love the idea of sitting on the little table and whizzing down the tiles.
Ann hope you find your camera parts and they fit the other camera. Hope your aches don't come back today once your up.
I have been behind the shed this morning sawing off small branches off the old sycamore tree oh cut down years ago. Its making it lighter behind the shed and I can then cut down more brambles.

Good afternoon to all you thoughtful and wonderful FRIENDS.
Yes Ros had a lovely day for her B'Day and we enjoyed a very nice meal with Harvey, Julia and Lewis. I wasn't at all hungry so only had a PRAWN COCKTAIL, the others all had starters and main courses. The food looked excellent, and the service was wonderful. Harvey insisted on paying the bill, and Ros left a nice TIP for our waitress. H & J bought her a beautiful pair of ear rings, Lewis said he would get something, when he has time to shop. The little Bug@@r hadn't been shopping. I was annoyed with him for not making an effort, considering it was his NANS 75th Birthday.
I have sent an Email to the RAF Benevolent Fund, to see if I can get any help with the purchase off a Scooter. THEY RANG ME within minutes, with Telephone Numbers of help lines, and a phone No. of a someone who may be able to help with these ANXIETY ATTACKS. I couldn't believe the WONDERFUL service they offer especially on a SUNDAY MORNING.
We have been invited round to Jonathan and Nicola's this afternoon for a BBQ . He has rung this morning to confirm I am well enough to go, and offered to come and collect us. Ros said, we would make our own way round about 3.00 pm. He is such a thoughtful man, and I know would be there for us anytime DAY OR NIGHT should we need him. What a GREAT EX Neighbour to have as a friend. Ros always refers to him as our FORTH SON. ;-) ;-) ;-)I will pop a few beers into a bag to take round, even though I know he will be well stocked anyway. Just hope this weather holds up.
I see that some of you and OHs are a bit under the weather, I just want to say I hope you are all feeling better, and CONGRATULATIONS to the additional family member, even though it is so removed down the Family Tree.
Martines OH is still in hospital. He hopes to be home tomorrow, but from what Martine said this morning, it's very unlikely he will be allowed home for a few days yet. His heart is still racing when he stands up.
I'm still sitting around in my D/Gown, so I had better get showered and dressed.
Stay safe dear friends. xxxx

Went back out afterosting my last post and oh came over with the small battery chain saw and cut down lots of the bigger branches. I tugged them away to cut the side bits off and get them on my bonfire. Too many for one fire and I still have a lot to cut off yet but we needed feeding. He also cut down another sycamore which had got quite big and it has fallen on my shed and how he thinks I can mange that one I don't know.
I'm so pleased you all had such a wonderful time last night at the birthday meal Frank. Fancy Lewis not getting nan a present, not like him when she treats him all the time.

We both posted together Vera. What a performance for you getting to bed. I had to chuckle though and as I was reading I thought my computer chair with wheels would have helped! Well done your OH thinking of the old coffee table with wheels! I hope your foot eases up some more with some rest today. As you say we are becoming a bunch of old crocks!
Oh Mel it's a good job your shed wasn't damaged as well. I think he will have to help move it for you to cut down some more.
Hope you enjoyed the barbeque Frank and that the Hospital can soon get Martine's OH sorted and home again. That's what I found with the heart racing.........any movement would send it higher.
I have just cleared things out of my car ready for it's MOT in the morning. It's booked in for 8.00am so we will need to be up very early as the garage is in the city and there will be a lot of traffic around. There is plenty of pork left for tomorrow so that will be an easy meal.

Morning All,
I think rain is due later here so best make the most of the sunshine this morning.
I woke at 5.30am and stayed awake as the alarm was set for 6.30am. We took my car in and the traffic wasn't too bad. The garage reception counter has a perspex screen the full width between the walls and up to the ceiling now which is good. There is just a narrow slot at counter level to put your keys through and enter your PIN. Passing one of the big schools on the way back we saw many groups of children walking along together almost shoulder to shoulder. Teachers wearing visors were at the gates and it was noticeable the children stuck to the rules at that point.........a bit late by then though.
The window cleaner is here on time for once which is good as he will be done by the time we go back to fetch my car. I can never settle to do anything when I'm expecting a phone call so will just potter about tidying up for now! I want to get the towels washed but don't like leaving the washer on while we are out.
I hope Vera's foot is a bit better today and that everyone's aches and pains and throats are getting better too. My worst kee is improving and so I'm thankful for that.

good morning all, very misty, almost foggy here this morning, good old Severn valley mist. OH had his cuppa and gone back to sleep. I didn't sleep too badly.
Just seen Morrisons in Cheltenham have re-introduced marshalls on the door and a single queue at check out.
Infection numbers in Gloucester and Cheltenham are going up, universities and colleges in both areas which probably explains it.
