Afternoon All,

Another sunny one! I slept well but was a bit long dropping off.

Thank you very much for your anniversary wishes......17 years now, but we have been a couple for 30 years. We don't do big celebrations for our anniversary, but exchanged a few cards in bed this morning that made us chuckle and had a nice lunch of fish with dauphinoise potatoes and a mediterranean veg traybake followed by a Thorntons choccie cake with chocolate buttons on and some glasses of alcohol free Schloer.

That will be nice to see your brother while the weather is still good Vera and your baking sounds a delicious treat for them.

Looking at the latest figures, I think we will be included in a lockdown here pretty soon, as will other areas of the county. It seems to be people ignoring social isolation at places like pubs and gatherings still going on that are are not helping. These people are either ignorant or selfish.

Glad you're feeling a lot better Frank and I hope they can help Martine's OH. I know from experience how scary that heart racing can be.

Glad you slept well Mel. We said this morning how fast the weeks are flying by too.

No wonder you are both stiff today AnnG. All that having to sit isn't good so no wonder your poor OH is suffering badly. Just when you don't need it there is a palaver getting your tablets too! Don't worry about moaning.....you are in good company here lately as so many of us have something making us moan too.
:-S lol. My worst knee has moved on from aching to sharp twinges and soreness now so I still can't do much!

Next task is to put another coat of paint on my flowerpot!

AnninGlos Report 18 Sep 2020 15:27

At least presumably you can paint the flower pot sitting down Ann.

Poor OH is suffering very badly with headaches today as he had to stop the nurofen before he could switch to the cocodomol. So far the 2 C/c he took at 12 o'clock have not helped so he has gone to lie down again.
I can't remember if I have said he has an appointment with the osteopath next week, from recommendation I have been told he is very good with headaches as he doesn't manipulate your body he works on your head and feet, mainly head. he is apparently a cranial osteopath. Aopologies if I have already told you this.

Oh Anng I do hope this Osteopath will be able to help OH especially as he specialises in the head.
Hope everyone else is fine.
H&G are coming with F&Cs for everyone but I really don’t think I can face it .

AnnG, I have put a post on your co-codomol thread.

Evening all,

<3 Happy Anniversary to you both Ann i hope you'e had a nice relaxing day together sounds as if you had a lovely lunch with a nice choccy cake for pud .

Vera hope you enjoyed the afternoon with your brother and you managed to sit out in the garden ,it's been quite windy here today but if you could sit in a sheltered spot it was lovely and warm ,i bet the home made cakes went down a treat .
Jake had today off to rest his feet and he's going back on Monday but going on his bike to see if it helps his feet it will be a bit less walking for him to do.

AnnG you must both be relieved the tests didn't show up any thing serious but it's not so good that you couldn't get the meds he needs .
Hope the Osteopath can help OH when he goes especially as he specialises in the head.

Jane Chelsea is really grown up for her age ,i can't believe she's 13 .
Oh dear little boy :-D it's marvelous how they can work out the weight and the scan pictures are so good and clear now .

I keep thinking it's saturday i don't know why, everyday seems the same now with only going out to shop once a week .
I see Norfolk is off the watch list for Covid now ,last week we were listed as an area of concern but that was because of the people that had the virus at the chicken factory .
I wonder if that's why the Queen is now staying in Norfolk because we're low in cases this way .

I hope the tablets are beginning to work for your OH now AnnG. Yes the flowerpot was a sitting job.

Oh I forgot to wish young Chelsea a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Yes I expect she is feeling quite special and grown up now she is a teenager like Jane says.

That must have been interesting to see the baby scan Jane. I expect they are clearer these days so show more detail. I hope the morphine is helping you with the pain. <3 <3.

We are watching the Dennis Nilsen, the serial killer prog we recorded once OH emerges from the bath! I find it surprising as a civil servant myself at that time that no-one he worked with found him strange at all.

Annx Report 18 Sep 2020 20:02

Didn't see you there Mandy! Thank you for your good wishes and I hope Jake finds his bike a lot easier for his feet than walking.

They have announced this afternoon that the Oadby and Wigston district here will be locked down again from next Tuesday, so my friend who lives in a flat won't be able to visit anyone again indoors or outside for a while unless she is in a bubble now. Apparently we are also an area of concern now so it could be us next! At least my car MOT is before then on Monday and the flu jab on Wednesday would be an 'essential' trip.

I think I hear the 'mermaid' emerging!

I had'nt realised I had'nt been on her since this morning, Sorry.

Happy Birthday to Chelsea I am sure she has had a wonderful day and now feels very grown up.

Happy Anniversary to Ann and G dinner sounded nice and especially the choc cake. can you send me a bit please?

Nice to see Jane and it must be amazing to see the scan pictures. Fancy them knowing the weight of the baby too. Sending love. <3 <3 <3

Mandy it must be better for Jake to ride his byke to school. Better than walking. How far does he have to go?

Vera it only seems like it was Christmas a little while ago and now here we are with it approaching again. With not going out anywhere I never seem to know what day it is I have to look on the pc sometimes. It will be nice to see your brother again and I hope he is now keeping well.

I had a tree match this morning and have been working on my tree ever since as one chap let me look at his tree and take some names down so thats where I got lost today. The only thing is he has the parents of a Lewis Jefford 1743 down as Lewis Jefford c1872 !!!! so something is wrong there. :-S

Frank Report 19 Sep 2020 11:21

Good morning all, I thought I had better pop in.

NOT in a good place AGAIN.I had rung 111 to speak about how I was feeling, and to get any advise from the experts. This was yesterday afternoon, they passed me on to someone else, who in turn, sent me an AMBULANCE. They were here for over TWO HOURS carrying out ECG's every 30 minutes and various other tests. At about 6.45 pm they confirmed I was having ANXIETY ATTACKS. Ros had packed me a bag of cloths and toiletries thinking I would be going to hospital, but that didn't happen. The Para-Medic rang the Doctors, and they are reducing one of my tablets from 4 a day to 2 a day. The tablets contain a certain amount to HEROIN. So they are frightened of me getting addicted to them. First I knew about that.

I stayed up late last night, so I was really tired. 11.30 pm which is late for me. I slept until 5.30 this morning, couldn't get back to sleep, so got up. When I heard Ros moving about and made her COT. And as she came in the lounge, I told ALEXA to sing "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" which she did.

Ros has gone to get some bits and will meet up with Martine for their Saturday chat and coffee. Martines OH is still in hospital, they are still trying to get his HEART RATE under control. So he's in the best place.

Conrad, Carolyn, Valerie and Jan have rung since she went out, so they will ring back this afternoon.

I am hoping I am going to be alright to go out for the meal tonight. Fingers crossed I am feeling O.K. at present. So I will sit quietly, and try to stay calm. Will keep you posted, how I go on. xxxx

No change really with T Mel but it is early days on the new meds, he did sleep well though which was good, although because he slept and din't move he was very stiff with painful back and hip this morning.

Vera many thanks for the leaflet it is very clear to understand so is useful.

Frank anxiety attacks are horrible so I hope that reducing the medicine will help. try and relax and look forward to going out to give Ros her birthday treat. And enjoy the company and meal.

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 19 Sep 2020 12:50

Poor you Frank. You are having a bit of a rough time of it. If I am honest I am not at all surprised that the paramedics diagnosed anxiety attacks. You might not remember but I said in a post a few days ago that I wondered if your symptoms might be caused by anxiety. I do understand how unpleasant it is as I have been close to 2 people who have suffered from anxiety and panic attacks but it is reassuring in a way as you will know if it happens again that you are not having a heart attack. Did the ambulance people or the doctor suggest any coping mechanisms for you? I know there are breathing exercises and other things you can do to alleviate the attacks when they happen. Have a quiet day and hopefully you will feel well enough to go out with Ros later. Happy Birthday Ros.

AnnG, I hope T had a reasonable night and is feeling a bit better this morning. Constant pain can be so exhausting for him and a worry for you.

Mandy, I am so sorry. I completely forgot to wish Chelsea a happy birthday. I hope she had a lovely day. They do seem to grow up so quickly. At 13 I was still a child but these days they are already young ladies.

If you are looking in, Jane, I hope the morphine is keeping the pain at bay for you. Lovely to see a scan of the baby and good that you have the birth of your first grandson to look forward to. Have they decided on a name yet or are they keeping that bit secret? As always, I am sending you love <3

We had a lovely couple of hours with my brother yesterday. Although there was a slight chill in the breeze it was sunny and our garden is fairly sheltered so we put jumpers on and were able to sit outside. With just the four of us we were able to sit in pairs at the opposite ends of our fairly large garden table and the cakes went down well. For once both the banana loaf and the muffins had cooked perfectly.

This morning I popped to Sainsbury's at 8 am so I could just do a quick top up before it got busier. It was pretty chilly at that time but is nice and sunny now. I just needed a bit of fresh veg for the weekend and some milk and bread as I've got a Tesco delivery on Tuesday. I was suprised that there was very little bread available. I managed to get a sliced wholemeal loaf and a couple of crusty rolls that will do for our lunch today but I was really surprised to see the shelves nearly empty of bread. Perhaps a delivery was a bit late coming.

When I got back the British Gas engineer arrived to service the boiler so that's all fixed for another year. It was a woman engineer and she was polite and friendly and just got on with the job. The men we've had in the past always seem to want to stand around and chat. She did everything the men do in far less time.

I see time is getting on so I had better go and put something in these rolls I bought for our lunch. I fancy corned beef and branston pickle in my roll with a couple of little tomatoes on the side. Have a good afternoon everyone

AnninGlos Report 19 Sep 2020 13:41

Well my home made carrot and potato (and a few other bits like sprouts, onion and apple) went down well. OH had the same sized bowl he would normally have and a slice of bread and butter. I think he may have had all his five a day in one bowl. His back was hurting though as he coughed (for no reason) when out in the garden which always hurts his back. so now he is resting on the bed. I am hoping he won't go to sleep but I would not bet on it.

I was going to go to the local Tesco but realised that really I was only going for veg. checked down the garden and picked runner beans and there are baby carrots as well so put off going until it is likely to be quieter.

Pleased you enjoyed your time with your brother Vera, I bet you didn't stop talking. Good that the weather allowed you to be outside anyway.

And now we have no water. Burst water main/leak affecting three post code areas of Gloucester. We have a trickle of water at the moment so managed to fill the kettle. Not that we need water at the moment. Just have to croos out legs, although don't think T could nabage that at the moment.

OOOoooo I forgot to wish Ros a HAPPY BIRTHDAY have a wonderful natter with Martine and enjoy your meal out tonight. <3

Been to Em's and Ed has been in hospital again this week. She had to have an ambulance out because she could'nt wake him up and he was making funny noises. Its so worrying for Em with the two boys to cope with too. He still has both arms in slings and braces and a great squarish cushion pad under his left broken arm with a squeasy ball on the end.

Frank I do hope reducing the meds will help you feel better as panic attacks can be awful in many ways making you feel quite strange. You did get a few good ZZ's in though so thats a bonus and I hope you manage that meal out tonight with Ros.

Mandy in a previous post asked how my toe is. It has'nt gone black and I hav'nt broken the nail off at the base. It was skin where I thought the nail was broken and it seems to have bledup the side of the nail. It dos'nt hurt now but the nail seems to have curled up on that toe.

Now no water; that’s all you need AnnG. I hope it’s not off for too long. Do you have any bottled water if you need a drink? A little while ago I decided I must cut down on plastics if I can so I bought a couple of reusable bottles with little tumblers that form the top of the bottle and I fill them with tap water when we go out. Now I’m thinking they won’t be much good if there’s no tap water. I’d have to fill them with wine ;-)

I’m in trouble again. This time I’ve done something to my foot. I’ve not got much exercise lately so went for a walk this afternoon. Walking along a very narrow pavement I saw a chap walking towards me so I stepped into the road. He did the same and called out “I’m a gentleman of the old school. I’ll go in the road, you stay on the path”, so I stepped back up the kerb. As I did so an awful pain shot through my foot. I thought it was cramp but when I tried to walk I couldn’t put my foot to the ground so I had to sit on someone’s garden wall and phone OH to collect me in the car. There is no bruise or swelling but it is throbbing and aching like mad and the heel is the only bit I can put any weight on. Goodness knows what I have done. OH wanted to ring 111 but I’ll see how it is after a night’s rest.
