Missed you there Gill as I forgot to post what I had written. We are doing the same in not having anyone here or visiting anyone or going in shops. At least we know we aren't breaking the complicated rules as you say. OH doubts he will be going to more matches after the 2 he's visited as he thinks they will be banned again before long. So many seem to think social distancing is everyone else's responsibility, so they can carry on as normal. At last your toms are doing well and this sunshine will help more ripen as well.

Oops the delivery is here!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 13 Sep 2020 17:39

Good the knees not clunking today Ann. Hope the wipe down was ok.

We opened a pack of choc biscuits yesterday bought this week and all the dark choc looked like milk choc and was all sort of melted and horrid so they will be going back this week.

Had this from FG.

Hi Mel,
Just an up date! We saw our daughter yesterday. Luckily our son who lives about 20 miles away from us (wrong direction!!) came and picked us up and took us, with the added bonus of our 13 year old grandson who wanted to come too! We had such a lovely day helped by great weather!
Our daughter is ok, but certainly not the bright busy lady she was before, but very pleased to see us as were her two girls 17 and 20 + her partner. He is absolutely fantastic and is completely devoted to her and is very protective, overseeing (doing!) all the domestic chores as well as a doing a full time job! Our elder granddaughter starts her second year at University in London next weekend so she will be away during the week , but home for weekends Her sister is at a sixth form college doing A'levels in preparation for a nursing career. Luckily 2nd granddaughter will be doing most of her studying at home particularly with the new regulations so together with the help of friends, care won't be an issue. All in all a successful visit, done just in time as Monday is of course when the new rules kick in!
Gill, I know its not my business, but do seek advice about those headaches if they persist! Our daughter's been, and is, so ill, with several months of treatment and uncertainty ahead of her and I'd hate anyone else to suffer the same way.
Well, lunch(?) is ready cooked by my devoted (?!) chap!

Gillx Report 13 Sep 2020 18:10

I've been thinking of getting my headache seen to as they seem to be happening to often for my liking, I think it's stress as I have a lot on at the moment, but I'll let my GP know incase it isn't. Thank FG for the advice.

Thanks Mel for letting us know how FG and her family are doing. It sounds like she's got a lot of help, how much does her partner charge per hour I've got lots of jobs that need doing LOL ;-) ;-) ;-)

Annx Report 13 Sep 2020 19:28

The wiping and putting away took 40 minutes this time Mel. Not such a big order today and we have left the non fridge and freezer stuff in the bags for 3 days again. I seem to have an extra brown loaf, but it might be my fault when I check! Thanks for letting us know FG's news. It's good she got to see her daughter and that she has plenty of help as they must worry about leaving her on her own at the moment. Yes the knee is still ok clunkwise with lots of resting it and keeping it straightish. At first I dreaded that it might stay the same and not recover but I think it will now if I'm extra careful for a while. Those biccies don't sound very nice all melted like that. Did you get up the border today or do any craft stuff?

Gill it is a good idea to mention your headaches to the doc. Yours might be stress and that can raise your blood pressure which your doc can check among other things.

AnnG what a shame he half tripped and hurt his back. I hope it isn't a setback (pun not intended!) for him. That is a nice selection of veg for your dinner. I would like all of those!

OH is clearing the shelf under the uti sink in the morning for the boiler man so he can turn the water off to look at the drippy tap. Gawd knows what he will find under there at the back! I should be starting the online watercolour course tomorrow but they have put it back 3 weeks. Yes the last Strike tonight.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 13 Sep 2020 22:38

Yes I did get up the border but only for a little while by the time I had done the lunch and watched the Grand Prix and washed up. I did lot of digging up there a while ago and seem to have brought up the bl**dy bitter cress seed which is now all over where I had cleared plus the twitch has grown too but is easier to get out since digging. No craft stuff today as I try to only do that if I can't get out and do some kind of gardening.

Hav'nt seen Strike yet. Think I will pop in the shower and then watch it.

Morning Anng and all,

Lovely sunny morning here again and I shall go up the garden again this afternoon.

Sorry T's back is bad again and I think the doctor should see him again and check it out as its been going on for weeks and weeks now.

Hope the wipe down dos'nt take long Ann. Its such a bore is'nt it.

Nothing really planned for today so shall see how it goes.

Annx Report 14 Sep 2020 10:47

Morning All,

Lovely sunshine again. I couldn't sleep last night and was awake till 4.00am so am not feeling lively this morning! OH was up early and has done a stirling job getting ready for the boiler man at lunchtime. He's emptied the cupboard under the sink so he can switch water off to the tap, moved things from the worktop under the boiler, cleared around the fire and the racks off the cooker. The less there is for him to touch, the less there will be for me to wipe down! After he's gone I can put the washer on and catch up with that! Lunch will be after he's been today as he can be early or late!

The knee still aches but is bearable so I shall potter about sorting some more in the bedroom today and attack the cobwebs and dusting! I need to collect some of my snapdragon seeds too and start clearing some of the pots. Always plenty to do isn't there! When I have a sit and knee rest between jobs I can do some more of my bracelet.

OH is printing stuff for his virtual meeting that's tonight now.

Hope everyone else slept well and is making the most of this sunny spell. :-) :-)

I meat to ask you Mel how many little baby fish do you think you may have? Also whether you have seen anything interesting on your new night camera.

Annx Report 14 Sep 2020 10:53

Oh you both posted just before me and I didn't see you! Hope the wipe down doesn't take long AnnG and sorry to hear you OH's back is so bad again after that 'trip'. He does need more checks and help from the doc doesn't he now after all this time.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 14 Sep 2020 11:23

His back was bad before the trip still tripping just made it even worse, it is the head and eye aches that worry me more though.

Gosh its hot out there. If iI can get up the border this afternoon I shall be trying out my GONGALONGS. Hope they are ok as I ordered another pair.

Oh has been fiddleing with the old mower again this morning and we have soldering stuff all over the kitchen table. After cleaning a little board up and using a bit of my silver stuff and now it seems to be working as I can see him mowing with it. So thats great as this old mower has a wider deck than the newer one so not so many strips around the big lawns.

AnninGlos Report 14 Sep 2020 14:24

Annx hope the boiler man cometh! and all fixed and cleared up.
I slept until 4am and then cat napped until about 6 when I dropped off and woke to OH making tea at 0815.
Yes he definitely needs a face to face with the Dr and I see that GPs have been instructed to hold more face to face appointments.

Tesco was a lot later this time but still within the 11-12 slot. I had done the usual (despite checking) and have two lots of D Gloucester cheese with chives and 2 lots of prawns. No problem with either of those. I have however complained to customer services re the two lots of fish both of which arrived with a use by date of 16th. OK I have frozen them but I didn't want to I was not keen on how the stuff was delivered today, no bags but not loose either, bundled into four huge polythene bags with no handle, even the delivery driver said they were awkward to manage. Luckily the eggs were ok but they were just piled in with the rest. He did say he thought it might be temporary.

Mel so your lawn will now have a different pattern for us to admire.

Frank Report 14 Sep 2020 14:31

Hi all, I thought I would pop in, while I am waiting for the DOCTOR to call me.

Had a very worrying night last night, and today hasn't been much better. Right throughout the night I was having pains in my chest. I did nothing about them, but this morning they continued, also with this horrible CRAWLING of the skin, just like SPIDERS under the skin. I rang the surgery, but of course, not able to speak to a Dr. Someone will ring me later. In the meantime I have been sitting here shaking and feeling faint. Have seriously considered dialling 999 for an ambulance, but thought I would hold out for the Dr. I will see what he/she has to say, before doing anything.

Ros is worrying herself, which isn't good for either of us. I am just getting more and more TENSE. I have drunk at least 6 glass's of water, and still feel thirsty .I keep going HOT and COLD, and going from shorts to Jogging bottoms and a heavy cardigan. I have had a sarnie and a coffee also.

SORRY to be bothering you will my woes, but feel I need to get it off my chest.

Again my apologies, for not reading your posts. I will try to catch up on them later.

I will let you know how things are, when I have had contact with the GP, whenever that might be. I think I could get through to the POPE easier than a doctor at our practice,

Typical, the phone just rung. I thought it was the Dr, but oh no, someone wanting to talk to me about my INTERNET connection. They soon got of the line. :-P :-P :-P.

I hope you are all well, and enjoying this lovely afternoon sun. <3 <3 I have all the doors and windows open, but still getting these horrible shakes, and crawling feelings. So will go and sit quietly and wait for the Drs phone call. xxxx

AnninGlos Report 14 Sep 2020 14:45

Frank OH also waiting for the doc to call. I do think he should be seeing you personally rather than a phone call. If you feel really ill and have chest pains please phone 999 and hopefully a paramedic will come and assess you. Hope you can fins a solution. Have you taken your temperature etc?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 14 Sep 2020 14:58

Frank you really need to see a doctor these things just can't be right. If all else fails get Ros to ring 999 and get somebody out to see you. Aunty Mel has spoken........ <3

Gongalongs on and a nice cool long sleeved shirt and I am off up the border when I have the second lot of washing on the line. I spilt my lunch right down the front of the t shirt I was wearing and all the pasta ended up on the floor.

Hope both T and Frank get there calls. Sending love and wishes to Jane <3 <3 <3

Frank Report 14 Sep 2020 16:02

Have spoken with Dr. she wants to take more bloods etc. My Temp. is 36.3 so all good there. As it's only 4 weeks since she took bloods she wants to leave is another couple of weeks, but if I don't improve she wants to know straight away. I managed a toasted Smoked salmon sarnie at lunchtime. I will try today again later this evening.

Ros has just come in from the garden, she been out there for HOURS. She does put so much hard work into her GARDEN, it's a CREDIT TO HER. People often stop and chat to her, and admire what she does.

Back to my armchair, and THANKS for all your concerns. I promise I will keep doing as Ros tells me. See you soon. xxxx

Afternoon all,

Frank why don't you ring 111 and get some help and advice ,they'll soon decide if you need an ambulance ,you can't go another night feeling like that ,better safe than sorry .

AnnG I hope your OH can get to see the doctor he must be really tired out with all the pain poor chap, he just seems to take one step forward then two back .
That wasn't very good of tesco bundling all the groceries together in a poly bag ,I should think there will be complaints about them doing that.

Ann I hope the boiler man has been and your all sorted now .

So it's the day for trying out your Gongalongs Mel :-D I keep meaning to ask how your toe is ,have you lost your nail?

Phew it's hot out and I've been in the greenhouse cutting all the old tomato stalks and the cucumber stalks just picked the last two big cues and a couple of small ones .
Lots of runners to come I sliced up some more for the freezer this morning ,I think we have seven bags in there now ,I always use to blanch the runners before freezing now I just slice them up and freeze .

As always love and hugs to Jane <3

T has spoken to his doc as well I stayed out of the room and left him to it, he was on the phone quite a while. (I had actually written out all the bullet points he should mention and he says he did). The Dr said he thought ;last time they spoke he was getting better, T said he thought it was but it has got worse again.

Dr has booked another blood test for tomorrow as he says he missed the one that shows inflammation and he is contacting a specialist about the headaches to see if they think he needs a scan (of his head). Don't think he is too worried about the back. He also suggested the optician and he has made an appointment to see him.

Anyway, more wait and see. Not too bad this morning but headache still there, he did do a bit in the garden. One of the main problems is he is not sleeping as the pain wakes him up. Dr said to continue with the nurofen
So more wait and see.

Frank your Dr doesn't seem too concerned if you have to leave it 2 weeks.

Annx

Annx Report 14 Sep 2020 17:00

Oh Frank you do sound in a state. How did the doc take your temperature down the phone or did you do your own? More blood tests but they don't sound too concerned. Do as Ros says though and get help if you feel worse.

Not much help for his back then AnnG. just more rest and painkillers for now, but at least he might get a head scan now. I keep wondering how he might get a better night's sleep as he must be exhausted.

The boiler man has been and typical, the tap behaved for him,,,,,,,,well the first few times then dripped a bit! We've agreed to see how it goes for now as it might be because it isn't used much! He did the boiler, fire and gas hob and we kept out of the rooms he was in and had the patio door, back door and windows all open. I paid him in cash and put the exact money on the other end of the dining table for him to pick up. He had a mask on but was wearing it under his chin round his neck!! Afterwards I wiped everything he might have touched. I just need to go through what goes under the sink now and see if I can find boxes for some things.

Mandy those cue stems are quite scratchy aren't they. I must pick more of our toms as they aren't growing very well now.

Just remembered I haven't put the washer on! :-0
