Evening all,

Oh AnnG sorry to read your feeling down , i was going to say have you thought about your OH seeing an osteopath ,when my back was painful the one i saw certainly helped me ,some manipulation might just ease his pain .

It's been another lovely day ,we sat out this afternoon but when the sun went behind a cloud it began to feel quite chilly .

Son rang to say he got the caretakers job :-D :-D he said the head teacher rang and said we'd like to offer you the job and your on loud speaker and all the teachers are here ready to give you a cheer :-D so i think they really wanted him which is nice .

Still confused with the six people thing as they now had a question on our local news where some one asked if she could visit her son with his five children as she would then make seven people meeting together and she had been in the bubble with them and they said yes !!
I suppose we have been in a bubble with son and family ,we haven't visited anyone else .

AnninGlos Report 10 Sep 2020 19:56

Mandy I think it was single people who could form a bubble with a family. I think England should go the same way as Scotland where they don’t have to count under twelves.

Yes OH has been thinking about an osteopath, ball is in his court now.

SuffolkVera Report 10 Sep 2020 19:59

Congratulations to your son Mandy. It’s lovely to hear of something good for a change.

I think you can only be in a bubble with another household if you live alone or are a single parent Mandy. Now if you were to bump off your OH....... :-D

I’m confused by the 6 people rule. Originally 6 people from any number of households could meet outside but they could only be from two households if they were meeting indoors. Now they just keep saying 6 people indoors or out, so does the two family rule indoors still apply? What a muddle it all is!

Thank you Vera ,we're so pleased for him .
Oh yes I forgot the bubble was for single people only .

Nooooooo I couldn't bump him off :-D

Good morning all

I’m not sure which way the weather’s going to go today. Sky’s a milky blue and it’s sort of light out but no sun yet.

I feel as though I’ve been up for ages but all I have done is drink 2 cups of tea. OH went off at 7 am to take our friend to the eye hospital so goodness knows when he’ll be back. He’s taken with him the book he’s currently reading and another one in case he finishes the first one.

I’m now going to have some breakfast and have a shower then I might try to do a bit more in the garden while it’s still dry.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all grey here at the moment although supposed to be nice later.

Mandy I am sorry I forgot to say congratulations to your son for getting the job. How lovely for him as he knows he liked it before, and a relief too as jobs as so hard to come by at the moment.

We have an in between shop to do today, there is always something when the big shop is every two weeks, milk, bread etc. and the car needs topping up with petrol.

Didn't have a good night, worry about OH is always uppermost in my mind when I go to bed and if I don't fall asleep immediately it can take literally hours. 2am at least before I dropped off last night. I was up for the loo then and I know OH was prowling around, he can't get comfortable lying or sitting, the pain from his back is in his buttocks now.I do wish he would make another appointment, I am wondering if the back is going into sciatica now.

As you can see I don't feel any more cheerful than I did yesterday. sorry.

Morning Vera and Anng and all,

I think we have about the same weather as you this morning Anng as there is grey sky but it was supposed to be nice today.

Its Friday again and another week gone by and I don't know where it went. :-0

Vera hope oh dos'nt have to wait too long for his friend today. You just never know how long these appointment will take to do let alone the wait beforehand.

Anng if the pains moved it does sound like sciatica and thats horrid.

SuffolkVera Report 11 Sep 2020 09:58

Try not to worry too much AnnG. I know that’s easier said than done. You feel so helpless when a partner is in pain and lack of sleep drags you down as well. But these things generally get better in time. If T is anything like my OH he’ll get stubborn and dig his heels in if you nag too much but try to persuade him to make another appointment. It sounds as though it could be turning to sciatica which is horrid enough but the piriformis muscle that caused all my OH’s problems last year is in the buttock area and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Don’t be alarmed as the chances of it being piriformis syndrome are small, but it would be as well to get it checked out if possible.

You sound in need of some tlc so I’m sending you a cyber (((hug))) <3

AnninGlos Report 11 Sep 2020 10:15

Good morning Mel and Vera

Thank you for the hug Vera. Much appreciated Vera and I am so pleased I have this thread to come to. He has actually just phoned the surgery, the doc he is under, like many at our surgery works part time there so only all day Monday and Wednesday PM He has booked a call back on Monday with him so at least he has done something.
Yes i had actually forgotten the piriformis which I should not have done as my sister has that problem with her fibromyalgia. He finds he has to stand up and walk around a lot (which I suppose in a way is good for his back.

He has just ordered a cushion support and a lumbar support for the car as it helps if he has lumbar support and the built in one is not enough. Our roads are horrendous with pot holes and uneven bits and that is what he finds so uncomfortable <3

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 11 Sep 2020 12:17

I am glad you joined the thread too Anng. You're always chatty and thats nice. Vera too I love your long posts.

I do hope T gets some help on Monday. My oh has lumber support pillow things he uses in his chair inthe kitchen and on his mower sometimes. There also one in the study on his pc chair. Anything that give a little more comfort is always good.

Well I have had a disatrous morning. Fed the girls and said I would have some toast when I came back. Oh said he would have some of the bun loaf thing they sent instead of hot cross buns and I said I would have some too but toasted. Popped it in the toaster and popped the butter dish in the micro for 8 seconds to soften it. Went to the loo and when I came back I had put the butter on for 8 MINUETS. its not a deep butter dish and I realised what I had done and opened the micro to stop it. There was a quarter of a pound of butter in it with a little extra on top. The dish was brimming.

Oh said to leave it to get cold but I did'nt. Meanwhile the toaster burnt the fruit bread so I had to turn that off and go back to the micro with a bowl. Tipped most of the melted butter in the bowl and the rest all over the micro. After eating the burnt fruit nread hot with the melted butter spooned on I then had to wash all the micro out.

Few and thats the rest of the morning gone and its nearly lunch time. :-| :-| :-|

Afternoon to you all, I thought I had better pop in, I don't want you worrying.

Had a good nights sleep, got out at 6.00 am, then slept until 9.00 am

Madam has gone to take back some shirts she bought me on Tuesday. Size 16 and a half. Far too big for my neck, I'm a 15.

Nothing sort of day here, forecast is not good either. I hope the weather is better where you all are.

Back to my book, see you all later. xxxx

A double one from you today Mel, makes a change from me.

It is quite chilly here I have just put a thick cardigan on. I forgot to say that our boiler has gone wrong so no hot water and no central heating.

Mel that was a bit messy I am sure, melted butter is so greasy.

Frank glad you are OK.

I wonder where Gill is.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 11 Sep 2020 16:40

I hope Gill is'nt having trouble with Sandra again. I may just send her a text. Its not like her not to come on here and chat.

Anng its chilly here too my poor knees are frozen. I had my hat on earlier and oh told ne to take it off!! It has'nt brightened up today at all here just grey skies and a little breeze which is'nt shifting the clouds very quickly.

I feel really tired today and can't get into anything.

Done the Saturday shopping list.

Why is it Asda send you a reminder to do your shop the day after you have had a delivery!!!!?

I'll delete that double post by I did only submit it once. I have noticed if I put up a smiley face some times it puts up two instead of one so it could be GR's fault.

Hi all

I got your text Mel, I've not been very well with bad headaches. Sorry, I didn't mean to worry anyone.

I haven't caught up with any of the posts, so hope everyone is okay.

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 11 Sep 2020 17:06

I’m sure you didn’t find it funny Mel but I had to smile at your disasters this morning. I could just see a comedy film in the making with the heroine - Goldie Hawn perhaps? - dashing between toaster and microwave and loo. I hope you’ve had a calmer afternoon.

I hope you can get your boiler fixed soon AnnG and it isn’t an expensive job. You can probably manage without heating at the moment but you don’t want to be without hot water for long. That’s good that your OH has arranged to speak to the doctor on Monday and hopefully the lumbar support will help. I’ve got backache myself at the moment and am on the bed with a pillow behind me. I had a good stint in the garden yesterday and another hour today so had backache from all the bending and stretching, then I stood for over an hour chopping mint which didn’t help. I am sure my backache is just age and general wear and tear so it will be OK in a day or two.

I always make some little jars of mint sauce to use through the winter but I always wonder if I am mad. It’s cheap to buy so doesn’t save me any money and all the chopping takes a bit of effort but it does seem to taste a bit better than the commercial jars.

OH got back from the eye hospital about 12.30 so it was another long stint. Friend had a cataract op this morning which we hadn’t expected today. I am not sure our friend had taken in what he was told last time as he had said to us that they were just going to examine the other eye to the one they looked at last time. Anyway, it is done now and he doesn’t have to go back for 6 weeks so OH can have a respite from chauffeuring duties.

Going back to boilers, ours is always serviced in July. Having the gas men in for an emergency the first week of lockdown and then with all the isolating etc, it had slipped our minds so OH rang British Gas on the relevant number and gave an automated machine our postcode and account number, whereupon the machine informed us our service wasn’t due till December and we would be contacted then, and he was then cut off. OH was not pleased but would probably have let it go but I was angry. I don’t want the boiler off in December but more importantly we pay a monthly amount to cover emergencies and the annual service and I don’t see why we should pay for 17 months to get what should be a 12 months service. So I put my research hat on and eventually found a BG number where we could speak to a person. The result: our boiler is being serviced on 19th of this month.

Pleased to see you posted Frank. It’s good to know you are OK.

Where is Gill? I hope she is well and problem free. Perhaps she is busy or her Internet is down. I hope that’s all it is.

EDIT. Glad to see your post Gill but sorry you’ve been suffering with your head again. Take care and come back soon.
