That was a nuisance Mel, to lose a post Thanks for T's sympathy After a while mine is in short supply but I try not to show it.
Annx thanks for the suggestion re OH raising his pillow. I have told him and he has said he is open to all suggestions. thanks Vera for seconding the suggestion as well.
Frank I am sure flowers and a nice meal will be just what ros will enjoy. Glad that the swelling has gone down.
Vera, is that the two bags that a couple of youngsters found in the river? What a grisly find. Like the decapitated body found in the Forest near here some time back.
Raining here off and on, OH has been out and picked in a large bowl of ripe tomatoes, should keep up going for a while.
I am just about to play with my birthday present from Daughter, the foil press. I did have a go on hers but have to try and remember how I did it.

Yes, Ann, they were the bags of bones I meant. I'm not sure the two youngsters actually found them - I think they had been swimming nearby. Our local papers just said they were seen by a member of the public who alerted the local park ranger. He pulled the bags out and opened them and called the police.
There has been a suggestion that they might be the remains of Corrie McKeague, an airman who disappeared in Suffolk 4 years ago but I think this is just pure speculation.
I've had a really lazy afternoon. I intended to do a bit more deadheading and tidying in the garden and to clean the birdbath but it has been raining fairly heavily since just after lunch. I am sure there are things I could be doing but I don't want to look for h/w and I don't do crafts so I've just been faffing about wasting time.

BREAKING NEWS. Allison had a baby boy this morning 6 lb 8 oz. Both doing fine. Eos has posted off a card 1st class, so they should get that tomorrow.
Oh what a LAZY DAY I have had. Ros got me toast and marmalade this morning a coffee and ham sandwich at lunchtime. She has done all the veg for dinner tonight. Roast Lamb, mint sauce (home made). Apple pie and custard for afters.
That was a surprise to hear about the bags of bones found in the river. I think the two lads were called to help pull the bags from the river. Perhaps we will get more news tonight.
My computer has started to put words in, that I haven't typed. This happened a few months ago, and I thought it was back to normal. It's a nuisance having to keep going back and altering things. :-P :-P :-P
At last the SUN has come out to play. It's been overcast, with light drizzle for most of the day.
Thanks girls for your comments. Yes, I think I will stick to a nice meal out, with a BIG BOUQUET of flowers. Will get an order in to a local shop, nearer the date.
Tony's tree wasn't cut right down. Just took the top and middle out, to bring the height level with the others. It wouldn't surprise me, if his neighbour didn't complained, as he is just the sort to do so. MR GRUMPY like Gills. lol. We have one at the bottom of our garden, who I have had very strong words with, in the passed. I'm glad to say he doesn't bother me anymore.
Have a good evening, and I hope you all sleep tight tonight. xxxx

I have been painting stones.

Oh I wonder whose bones they will turn out to be Vera and if it was foul play! I haven't seen the news yet. Well all I've done since lunch is prepare the Piccalilli veg and add the salt. OH has a virtual meeting and wants his hair trimmed sometime before his virtual interview tomorrow to serve another term as an Independent Person with one of the councils. He is wondering if any of his shirts will do up properly now, so I said to raise his screen to keep any straining buttons out of view!! lol :-D
Frank I would be perfectly happy with flowers and a meal so I'm sure Ros will be too. Congrats on the birth of the baby boy in the family. We have some sun here now too.
Hope you get to grips with the foil machine AnnG. We will be wanting to see what it does once you have! :-)
I think I am going to start some beading. There is a bracelet pattern I want to try.

Evening all,
Bit of a mixed day weather wise cloudy at times with a few spots of rain and then the sun will poke through ,certainly not cold though .
We shopped today ,went early to Aldi and it was very quiet and then on to tesco and again it was very quiet .
Vera that was my first thought was it Corrie when the bones were found . The recipe will do any time no rush .
AnnG i hope your OH can soon get some relief from the back ache and head ache it must be awful to have that constant pain all the time ,has he tried just having a day drinking just water cutting out tea and coffee . Waiting to see what you do with the foil press .
Congrats to all on the baby news Frank ,i can see Ros getting the blue wool out now she knows the sex of the baby :-D Flowers and a meal out sounds just the ticket ,i'm sure Ros will love it .
Ann i see your on the Piccalilli making ,today i have done some pickled onions today and made some orange marmalade . Oh dear poor OH with his jacket that won't do up and now his shirts straining at the buttons :-D me thinks he's had to much of your lovely home cooking :-D :-D I haven't heard you say you've done any beading lately so it will be nice for you do get back to it . I have been crocheting some little Hand Sanitiser holders for the children to hang on their school bags ,that way they won't have to have it in their bags in case they don't click the top on properly and it leaks out .
Mel has OH finished his master piece yet ? I'm glad you've seen some new little fish in your pond ,lets hope they keep down a bit in the pond so nothing can get to them.
Yesterday i had a good tidy in the front garden ,we took five tubs of garden rubbish to the tip and i dug up some bits to take to son for their garden . Oh we thought the wasps had gone but today we saw a few flying round the tiles again so son said he will put some more powder in for us ,i think the rain we had in the night washed some of it away .
I sent for some of those Silicone food bags from Amazon ( well son did ) to use for putting bits and pieces in the freezer they seal up so liquid can go in them so will be handy when i make soup and it will save me keep using the plastic freezer bags as these can just be washed and used over and over again .
Is it today or tomorrow Jane comes home ,i hope they have all had a nice relaxing time away .

Mandy, I have emailed the recipe to you. I wonder if my memory is playing tricks with me as it looks fairly ordinary but I am sure everyone liked it, including an aunt who came to lunch donkey’s years ago and thanked me for the delicious chicken quiche. I didn’t have the heart to tell her it was tuna ;-)
Mel, the boys were teenagers I think and I don’t think they saw what was in the bin liners. They just tried to help the person who spotted them get the bags out of the river but it was the ranger who took them to the nearby church ground and called the police. I understand the boys had gone by then and the police had to put out an appeal for them to come forward so they could talk to them.
It’s all very exciting for our small town but terribly sad. Those bones belonged to a man or woman who was somebody’s son or daughter, brother or sister, mum or dad. In a way I hope they turn out to be very old but the police are treating it as a murder enquiry so I suspect they have a reason to think they aren’t ancient. Anyone who has someone missing from their family must be dreading hearing that it could be their loved one. Heartbreaking.

Thank you Vera I have replied to your email, I use to do a tuna quiche but lost the recipe. 0 I thought on the news they said they wanted to talk to a chap who had been seen swimming in the water for about fifteen minutes ,they said it isn't a place we're people usually go swimming because of all the weeds in the water, hope they can find out who it is .

Certaily is heartbreaking Vera. Some poor soul will be lais to rest now though ina proper place.
Iv'e just had this from FG and its not good news.
Hello Mel, Just another update! It talked to our daughter this am and she sounded okish. I'm afraid I left the phone feeling rather down and tbh very worried about her. She is to have another scan on Oct 10th to check the damage, and to check that she hasn't got another lesion on the other side of her head! She also has to have an MRI on her spine as these lesions can appear here also. After this the Consultant will decide whether to operate to remove the problem or to leave it/them and monitor the situation. She says she has a swishing sound in head and a continuous sound of crackling ! I'm afraid this is going to be a long haul, but hopefully we'll get there in time. I do hope Jane has had a good time on her break and comes home feeling refreshed. Do put this on the thread if you want to. Love, Florence

Thanks for the message from FG Mel, so hard to see your children suffer. I hope there are answers for the poor girl.
I had quite a successful time with the foil press, made backgrounds for a couple of cards. Will take photos when they are finished. OH intends putting an extra pillow in his side of the bed tonight so we will see if that helps. Mainly today it was his eyes that bothered him , almost like a migraine ache I think. He has cut out some cups of tea and all alcohol the past two days but has switched to Pepsi as he is not keen on plain water. Unfortunately there is caffeine in Pepsi
Good job you don’t get smells transmitted kn here with pickled onions and picalilli etc it would pong a bit. :-D

Morning All Up early as we have to vacate the lodge by 10.30..I think we would all love to stay another week as it has been so relaxing here.Janice and Larry will head back to Tewkesbury to pick their dogs up from the kennels.Chris and I are going to visit this wonderful farm shop to get a few goodies and maybe some lunch. I can’t get Thomas from the cattery until tomorrow as he has to be collected by 10am so we would be far too late today.
Oh Frank a little baby boy.Congratulations to Allison and Jamie.(I think the daddy is Jamie). Sorry if I am wrong.
Crumbs Vera what a shocking find in the river. I do remember so well when the young airman Corrie went missing and how desperate his Mum was for them to keep searching the landfill site.Is this river far from where he went missing? Dreadful waiting time now for those people who have a missing loved one.
Thanks Mel for the info from Fg.What a worry for the family. I was wondering if the whooshing noise and crackling sound could possibly be something like Tinnitus brought on by the bleed.
Well I suppose I had better move it and groove it and muck in with the packing and wiping around the surfaces.
Had another half an hour in the hot tub yesterday afternoon :-D

Good morning all
Aawe Jane that time went quickly didn't it? So pleased that you all enjoyed it though and that you were able to have a lovely time with Janice. Back to the grind now then.
A dampish day here but no rain and 16 degrees. Should do a bit of clearing in the garden but the brown bin is almost full.
Oh has just got up. He took himself off downstairs last night as the extra pillow didn't work.Took the pillow downstairs Apparently took two paracetamols and ate a sweet which seemed to clear his tubes (he said.) His big problem besides the headache is that his ears feel blocked all the time, like when you have a cold But checked by the doctor and clear. Anyway he then slept for a few hours (meanwhile I was awake for two hours hoping he was ok). He came back to bed about 0830, got up and made tea (in our room) at about 8, drank it and slept until 10.30 now up and having 'breakfast' Strangely nothing wrong with his appetite.
Our grandson's wife told me about taking two Nurofen followed two hours later (or even all at once) by two paracetamols. (I checked and NHS say this is ok). And also about eating a strong mint sweet. She suffers badly with migraine. That did seem to work.
so not sure what we will do today, probably nothing.

Afternoon all,Nice bright morning here.. When Ros got up this morning, I turned over and went back to sleep until 9.50 LAZY OR WHAT :-P :-P Had an Egg and Bacon sarnie with COT, so that will keep me happy until tonight.
Glad to see Jane had a nice break with her Sister. They do seem to be very close. xxx
What was the outcome of the BAG OF BONES. There was no mention on our news last night. ??
I happened to mention Whipsnade Zoo to Ros this morning, and she said she would like to go and visit there again. So I am going to book a trip on line for us to go nearer her B'Day. I ordered and paid for flowers for her B'day yesterday, but no confirmation came up. I sent an Email to the company who seemed a bit unconcerned, if they have the order or not. So I will check if the payment has gone through, if it hasn't I will order elsewhere.
No plans for today apart from the Dr at 4.30 for a check on my BP. Then we will come back to have the evening meal, and do nothing until BEDTIME. What an exciting life we live. :-D :-D :-D
I hope you all enjoy whatever you are going today. xxx

Afternoon all,
I read the posts this morning after Anng's and oh asked me something and I forgot to put a post on here. Silly me! :-S
Good you had a nice sleep Frank hope everything goes ok for your BP check this afternoon. Enjoy your book today. Do the zoo have things you can ride around on? so you won't have too much walking? When oh took me to Rosemoor on my birthday a few years ago we ordered motorised wheelchairs and went around on those. Its a good idea to ask if they do them for you and Ros.
At least T got some sleep Anng even if you did'nt get a lot. I hope he feels better soon. Ears can make a difference to your balance and other things so I hope they clear soon too.
Nothing planned for today so shall see how things go.

We did actually go out for coffee to the local garden centre which has a lovely big new restaurant. We didn't have time to visit there before we went away so didn't know what to expect but it is very professionally done with one was in and another way out, lots of space inside and outside and lots of tables. Staff behind screnes and some who deliver to tables wearing masks. We just had coffee and share a Mille Feuille but it made a nice change. The garden centre is now quite big so we walked round it to give OH some exercise. He was tired when we got back and his back didn't like the potholes but he felt better in himself for going out.
