Good afternoon all, Sorry about NO SHOW yesterday. I just couldn't be bothered to open the computer.
Not feeling that great again. My right knee had me awake several times in the night. I think it's getting to the stage, where I will need it replacing, like my left one.
I just can't get my daughter and her sons off my mind. I have appealed on FB to anyone who knows their whereabouts, to message me, to let me know THAT THEY ARE ALRIGHT.They don't need to make contact, if they don't want too. It's the not knowing, that gets to me. !!!!
The weather isn't that special today, plenty of cloud, and the sky looks full of rain. We had a few good showers yesterday evening as well.
Tonight I have decided on a smoked Mackerel and prawn salad for my tea. I just get fed up with roast dinners, it's so unlike me, as I usually love my roasts.
I see you are all keeping busy and getting your jobs done. I wish I could get myself going, as there are jobs that need doing, that Ros can't do, and I just don't feel up to trying myself.
I put one of Ros's hanging baskets up yesterday, and watered it. The hose was very greasie, and I found that the outside drain had overflowed. I think needs the cover to be lifted and a good "root "about the drain. Then a bottle of bleach and boiling water down it. (HARVEY) !!!
Ros has a hospital appointment tomorrow, at 2.30 pm. I expect she will go shopping with Carolyn, then drop in at the hospital, before coming home. It's the usual water thingy. lol lol
I am in need of a good kick up the BUM, to get me into gear. I feel so low and out of salts Any suggestions. ???
Will try to concentrate on my book today, I never picked it up yesterday. Just the Sunday paper to occupy me. Not that there is much GOOD NEWS in that.
Stay well my loves. see you later. xxxx

Frank you need some Washing soda and bleach in a bucket of boiling water to tip down that drain to clear it. Put the water in the bucket first and then add the soda and a good squirt of bleach. Don't put your hand in it though stir it with a wooden spoon. Chuck it down and it should do the job then after a while pour more boiling water down it.

Your post came through twice Frank, is it to make up for your no show yesterday? ;-) ;-) :-D Have you thought of doing a puzzle, that would take a while to do and you can do it a bit at a time when you feel in the mood. You can buy puzzle holders, sorry I can't remember what they're called, but you make the puzzle on them and they close up when you need to move the puzzle out of the way or you've finished for the day, that way it won't be on the table in the way.
I see the Fox has been outwitted by the Magpies Mel, it sounds like it kept your OH occupied for a while to.
I've sorted one drawer and now I'm having a drink before tackling the other's, there's not much in them so it shouldn't take to long to do. The toilet has been cleaned while OH's out as he normally decides he needs the loo 5 minutes after the toilet duck has gone in, this way it stands a chance of working as he's not here to flush the loo.
Well, I'd better have my drink before it goes cold, then get back to sorting my clothes out.

Afternoon All,
Mix of sun and dull here and a light breeze. I have washed the towels so hope they will dry before any rain comes. I think it is tomorrow it is due. We had Asda F&C and had them early today as OH has his first school meeting this afternoon. He's not very happy about it as all his other schools are continuing with online Governors' meetings at the moment, but this particular school area has poor internet reception. He's taken mask and sanitiser although some should be provided, but doesn't fancy using the toilets so hasn't drunk much this morning. He's taken the portable he/shewee we got in case he's taken short on the way home. It would be the school that is furthest away from us!
Well done getting the test done Vera. I still think I would rather do that one myself than someone else do it. We had to do OH's second antibody test yesterday where you take a drop of blood and drop it in a square on a test strip, add something in a bottle and wait for red lines to appear. I told him to leave his hand to me this time and to look at the ceiling and it worked fine. Sorry if I have already said about it!
It's great having an empty house for a while and I have emptied a bag of rubbish from here and there without 'questions', bleached some bathroom grout, cleaned out my cool bags, put viakal on the limescale on the edge of the taps, picked tomatoes and a cue and 2 courgettes, watered the greenhouse and put away some plastic delivery bags to re-use. I have ordered a new kitchen timer online as the numbers have worn off the old one and my next job is to order some inks for the printer. I see Cartridgediscount online have 20% off theirs till the end of August and I have used them before. The bin men have broken the handle and lid on our wheelie bin but when OH rang they said they will mend it this week when they come. I have also managed to break the winding mechanism on the ensuite blind. To be fair the way it was fixed to start with was 'under strain' and it has last 12 years so we are due a new one really. Another job to add to those to get done when we feel a bit safer!!
Frank, I'm not sure what it is you want to do? We are all in the same boat with few places to go and not enjoying the freedom we had before. Would Ros take you out for a car ride round the villages for a change of scene? That might help and is something we have done. You are right about the newspapers!! Every day now our local paper reports a stabbing or illegal gathering being broken up. I said to OH were there all these large gatherings happening before the virus as well as we never seemed to hear about them.
I hope you enjoy your outing AnnG. I would have my head hanging out of an open window in the car!!! lol. :-D I hope your daughter's cough isn't anything to worry about. OH's was the same and they found nothing and thought it was to do with the reflux he takes tablets for. Since he got new pillows to raise him up at night and has stopped eating after 6.00pm it has gradually gone and he doesn't even mention it now.
Better get weaving now before he's home again!

Didn't see you there Gill. Yes, it happens here too with the toilet and cleaner!! :-S It's why I have done the taps while he is out too as he switches them on without thinking, even if I tell him not to for half an hour. I have resorted to hanging the bowl over the kitchen one before now. You are getting on with your drawers and I must do more of mine too, maybe tomorrow when it's raining!
Yes, those Magpies sound like they were teasing the young fox Mel. The bunny needs to keep an eye on him though and you will have to watch your girls.

Good afternoon. We had a lovely ride out to St Bees and parked on the front, got a take away coffee, or daughter did and brought the. To us, then sat on the promenade to drink out coffee, it was sheltered there and warm. We the. Had a walk along and back over the cliff path to the car. The tide was out when we got there and the sand and rock pools were littered with groups of people with children and dogs. St Bees is the start of the Wainwright coast to Coast Walk that finishes 190+ miles later at Robin Hood bay We decided that could wait for another day. :-D From St Bees we could see The Isle of Man way in the distance.
We drove back via Whitehaven and Distington which is where grandson’s take away shop is as we had never seen it. It is a lovely little shop and it seems that trade is gradually picking up as the factories resume more working. His boards showed a really good selection of rolls and baguettes and panini, and a couple of hot meals for which he takes advanced orders. We bought some coleslaw off him for lunch and it was really nice. He is on his own now working except Fridays when his wife helps out. He really was not making enough to support two staff so he made the. Redundant.
On the way we stopped at a. View point and Scotland was very clear in the distance as was a small part of Northern Island.
It was so good to get the sea air we really enjoyed it.

I decided to do the wardrobe next Ann so that's done now and I flushed to loo and gave that a good clean. It sounds like you've been busy like me today. I still have lots to do but have decided to have a sit down as I've been on my feet all day, plus OH will be in soon from his friends so I'll have mess that he leaves to sort out, he tends to dump things in the most awkward places which i have to move out of the way before I can get to anything. I was going to clean the kitchen, but again OH will only mess it up, so that can be done later to.
So I'm sitting here with a drink and I'm going to watch a couple of programmes off the planner as that is getting full again. Once I've watched them OH will have finished making his mess and will no doubt fall asleep on the sofa, so I'll be able to clean up then, unless he decides to put the grill on the car. His friend might of helped him with that though. I guess I'll find out when he comes home.

Just realised I didn’t respond to posts. Mel that must have been fascinating for your OH to watch.
Frank, I know we are away now and having a break, even though the weather has not been so good. But we are still constrained by the Covid rules. Masks when we go anywhere and socially distancing g so things are no way normal for us either. Life is bound to be boring with all the restrictions. As Ann says and we have said before. Why don’t you go for a drive with Ros, at least it would be a change of scenery. And you did have a break in Cornwall, a lot of people would love that.
Annx I will keep my eyes open watching for the results then.
I am sure you enjoyed your me time when your OH was at his meeting. Hope he was not caught short. No need to hang our heads out the car windows, daughter had to have a test before going for exray and it was negative. We are being careful but not paranoid. Tomorrow we hope to go to a Do. Ids garden centre.
Wednesday afternoon is supposed to be fine here so we hope to meet up with our step granddaughters in the garden.
Gill hope you got your clear out done. Can’t believe you still have drawers to clear you seem to have been at it non stop.

I'm going through all my clothes AnnG, I had a wardrobe almost full of clothes that don't fit me anymore or that are to young looking for me to wear now. I even had clothes from when I was in my 20's in the back of the wardrobe and now I'm in my 50's I'd look like mutton dressed as lamb if I wore them LOL :-D :-D :-D I still have lots more clothes to go through so the Charity shops are going to be happy by the time I'm finished. The items I did today were worn out so they've gone in the bin. I've decided to go through all the cupboards and drawers as I'm a bit of a hoarder so really need to get rid now. Having said that I can still hear myself saying "That might come in handy" then I have to tell myself off and throw it away or put it to one side for the Charity bag. I'm surprised our ceilings haven't come down with all the stuff I've put up in the loft. So I'm being a grown up and throwing it all away, some of the stuff I haven't even looked at for years, so I definately don't need it.
It looks like we've all been busy today Mel, now you have a lovely clean bathroom.
We've had lovely weather all day so OH's just cut our lawns again, they were a bit wet earlier after some rain last night, so they didn't look as good as he likes them after the first cut. They look much better now.

Well done on tackling your wardrobe too Gill. I'm quite looking forward to sorting some clothes as there are a couple of bags of them that I can't put away yet! OH does the same as yours with leaving things in the way. Only yesterday he was sticking his cup right in the middle of the draining board as I was cooking and going to be using it.....well once I'd moved his cup to one side! He's the same with his outdoor clogs for wearing in the garden. I got him used to slipping them off on the doormat so he doesn't paddle wet or mud on the tiles if it's been raining (good!) but why can't he leave them to the side of the mat like I do instead of the middle of it where I can either fall over them or struggle round them to go outside?
It made me take a deep breath when you said about the sea air AnnG. I could just do with some! It sounds like you had a nice day and I hope your OH's headache and backache were a lot better.
OH is home again now and said things went well. The doors were all left open and the meeting was just inside and he sat at the opposite end of a long table away from everyone. He said there was sanitiser in several places so that was good. He didn't take short AnnG, but had a big glass of water when he got home. :-D He was saying about the care the school is taking which must be same everywhere I imagine. I think all the parents who haven't been taking the rules seriously have done their children no favours by not setting an example. The change in behaviours will be a bit of a shock and confusing to some of them. He's at another meeting now....online this time.
I hope Jane is ok and knows we are all thinking of her and that FG's daughter is ok.

Oh, that poor man Mel. He must have been in agony. What on earth did he do? I hope the hospital can make him comfortable.
You’ve been busy Gill. Well done on getting your wardrobe sorted. I need to do mine again and to be a bit firmer with myself about getting rid of things like outdoor clothes. I’ve got some nice winter coats and macs that have only been worn a few times and I know I won’t wear again. I am sure there are women with not much money who would be glad of a good coat so I must grit my teeth and take them somewhere - Salvation Army perhaps.
I am sorry you are feeling out of sorts Frank. I don’t know what to suggest to relieve the boredom as we are all pretty much in the same boat. I think that’s why we ladies have been doing so much turning out of cupboards. Perhaps, as others have said, Ros would sometimes take you for a drive around. You could take a flask of coffee and find a nice spot to sit and watch the world go by for a while. It would just be something to look at other than the same four walls.
I’m glad you enjoyed your drive out today AnnG. A whiff of sea air would be lovely right now. I hope they find the cause of your daughter’s cough and can put things right for her. It’s tiring when a cough goes on for a long while. Has OH’s headache improved at all, and how’s his back?
I got a text mid morning to tell me that my swab test would be collected between 3 and 5 this afternoon. I wish they could have told me yesterday, then I wouldn’t have had to get up early to make sure I had it all done, bagged and boxed by 8 am. They came about 4.30.
I hope FG’s daughter is improving. It’s such a worry when our children are ill, whatever their age. Sending all good wishes <3
Love to Jane as well of course <3
I think I’ll go and have a quick bath and then get an early night as I am feeling really tired tonight. Sleep well, sweet dreams everyone.

Oh that does sound painful Mel what on earth did he do? OH still has the headache and back problem. He takes nurofen at night but lives with it in the day. I don’t think it is as bad as it was. The headache is always just above his eyes. Being out in the air helps. Because it wakes him up he is also quite tired. It will definitely be the GP when we go home.

Yup, same here WET. It’s quite cold as well, OH has been wearing shorts and short sleeved shirt for about 3 weeks now but today he’s gone into trousers, shirt and jumper.
I’m just going to tackle the ironing and am not sure what to do after that as it’s not the weather for being outside and I’m still avoiding indoors places as much as possible.
Oh well, enjoy your day whatever you’re doing. Sending you all a smile to cheer us up :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
