Morning All
I slept really well last night and feel wide awake now.Not that it will last LOL.
I want to make a chicken pie today to take with us for Tuesday when Janice and Larry will be there.I will leave the filo pastry until the day .
Hannah's Spag Bol last night was just so tasty it was delicious .I didnt manage an awful lot but what I did have went down a treat :-D

Those drinks ..I can have a couple a day . I think it wouldn't harm to have an extra one if I wanted too.I have just had the Tropical Fruit and Forest Fruit ones so far.I will try the Blackcurrant one today Mel.

I want to go to Tesco today for a few bits. Hannah wants to go too so she will pick me up.I havent been to Tesco now since before Lockdown !!!!!. I have all these vouchers that need using too. Hannahs baby bump suddenly seems to have expanded !!!!! I think she is going to be pretty big at the end of the 9months.If she is like me she will be.I was ginormous .

I hope our Frank is alright I think this is day 4 now without hearing from him.

I expect AnnG will be packing and getting ready for the journey home.It doesnt seem like its been 2 weeks she has been away.
Safe Journey Ann and I hope that both your backs hold out.

Chris has just brought me a cuppa.

Good morning Jane and all

You sound very chipper this morning Jane and it sounds as though you have quite a busy day ahead.

Everywhere is very damp and grey again this morning but it is supposed to stay dry here today with a top temperature of only 16 degs. Brrr, it was twice that a short while ago.

I had a sleepless night again so have warned OH in advance to.watch what he does and says as I am grumpy and liable to bite his head off. Poor man! I’ve no plans for the day yet but don’t want to sit around feeling droopy all day so I must find something to do.

Thank you EOS for your good wishes. I hope you and your family have a pleasant bank holiday weekend. Take care and stay safe.

I hope you have a good journey home AnnG.

I’ve had a CoT so I’d better get dressed and have some breakfast before preparing our roast dinner. It’s lamb today.

Afternoon all

Bright and sunny here today, with the weather being so nice I've decided to wash a few more coats, so they're on the line now, along with a few other bits and bobs.

Pleased to see you managed a bit of spag bol Hannah made Jane. I see you're not taking many drinks with you LOL :-D :-D better to have to many than not enough. Hope the weather isn't to cold for your trip away.

Sorry you didn't have a good nights sleep Vera, maybe a bit of a nap later will help, just a short one though or you might not sleep to good tonight. I find a 20 minute power nap does me good when I haven't slept very well for a while.

Pleased to see you're okay Frank.

Fancy getting your days muddled up Ann ;-) ;-) OH works most Sundays so I haven't had a roast in ages. He was suppose to work days today but someone rang in sick for the night shift, so he's working nights tonight. He's cut our lawns while the weather was nice, done a bit of weeding and has now nipped out to his friends. He'll have a sleep when he gets home, ready for his night shift tonight. He's going to be shattered if he keeps working this hard. It would explain why he's Mr Grumpy sometimes though.......lack of sleep.

How lovely to find all those fish Mel. How is your toe today?

I think I've got an email off Island, but I'm not sure of her name, if it's her she's sent some lovely pictures of all the food she's been growing, I'm so envious, although my tomato plants are finally showing some signs of growth, they are cherry toms and very sweet, the skin's a bit tough though, but not bad for free ;-)

Thanks EOS for your kind wishes, I hope you have a lovely bank holiday. Stay safe.

I've just brought a pile of things into the living room to go through, I'm almost done with all my sorting. Not sure what I'm going to do when it's all finished, as all the housework is done to. There's just to many hours in the day for me to fill when OH's in work. I'm not one for sitting around doing nothing, I get to bored.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 30 Aug 2020 17:18

Those toms look good enough to eat don't they? I could just pop a couple in my mouth now and feel the burst of flavour on my tongue. I like green peppers but they don't like me so I don't eat peppers.

The suns still shining so I am off up the border for a bit of a weed and may put a couple of plants in too. Oh is mowing now we have refreshed the fuel surply so he's happy.

Nice to knwo you are ok Frank enjoy your company of visitors.

Good afternoon all. We got home at 3pm left Lyn’s at 0939 stopped twice an hour all together so not bad timing. Traffic heavy but moving. So pleased to get home as
I was not sure OH would be able to do it as his back is so bad. Now we have to make Drs appointment for him and flu jab appointments for both of us. We also had TV licence letter so have that to pay.

How is your toe Mel?

Gill yes that was Islands email. You really ought to find a hobby you like so that you don’t spend all your time sorting out and cleaning but learn to relax. Have you thought about writing your life story to put with your family tree?
Why not have a. I’d week roast instead of a Sunday one?

Jane you asked about your birthday card to me, it did arrive while we were away thank you. You did sound bright and breezy this morning, bet you are sleeping now. Glad you enjoyed the Bol part of spag Bol.

Vera hope your oh minded his ps andqa today then if he knows what is good for him.

Frank so good to hear you are ok and have lots to do so are not bored.

Gillx Report 30 Aug 2020 18:27

Your toms look delicious AnnG, it sounds like you've had lots of them and still more to come. Mine are finally making an appearance but there are still lots of flowers that haven't done anything yet. I'm not sure if we're going to have enough light for all the flowers to turn to toms but I'm keeping an eye on them, hopefully some of them will produce fruits. Thanks for letting me know it was Island's email, I had a feeling it might be, either her or flappergirl, I wasn't sure which one though. Yes, I could do with a hobby, not sure about writing my life story though, I might take another look at OH's tree as I was starting to make headway with it the other week. I'm just having a few minutes to myself and having a drink before the F1 comes on. I haven't drank much today and I don't want another water infection now the last one has gone.

Well what a time we have had .The burglar alarm went off late this afternoon and it carried on for well over an hour.We had to call someone out and it took him an hour to get here.On the phone he suggested we cut the cable!!!!! (Don’t think he really wanted to come out.Anyway we weren’t prepared to do that so have a charge of £92 call out .
There is a fault that can’t be fixed now so it has been disconnected.
Typical just as we are about to go away. But at least James will be here working from home. The system was only serviced a couple of weeks ago too.It has done well though as we had it installed in 1993!!

Thanks for your pics Island.Lovely looking toms.

Glad you are home safely Anng.I hope OH can get a quick appointment for his poor back.
Good to see you are ok Frank.Enjoy the rest of the time with your visitors
:-D

I did the chicken pie but still haven’t packed .At least I have all morning to do that.Im too tired now and am in bed already. Hoping to stay awake to see Strike at 9
Mortimore and Whitehouse Gone Fishing is also on.I love that :-D

Well it is goodnight from me.

Annx Report 30 Aug 2020 20:37

Evening All,

Not too bad a day here but too chilly to eat outside.Yes I remembered it is SUNDAY Mel! :-D The food delivery came this afternoon so you know what I've been busy doing!

Good idea to warn your OH Vera! I do the same when I have a lot to do and don't want him chatting and getting in the way!! :-D I hope you have a better night tonight.

That's good you are ok Frank and thanks for your good wishes EOS and you keep safe and well too.

Gill we were only saying at lunchtime that we still don't seem to have enough hours in the day! I haven't got round to doing any jigsaws, reading any of my books and I need to paint out the uti as it still hasn't been done since the new boiler was fitted 3 years ago!!! Why don't you upcycle some of your clothes you are throwing out or make some Christmas decorations from them? There are some great ideas on the Pinterest site.

What a nuisance the alarm going off just as you are going away Jane! These things always happen at the worst possible time. At least you have stopped it now though. I bet James was glad it happened before you went away so he didn't have to sort it! It's good you were able to enjoy Hannah's Bol at least. I am going to see if I can stay awake for Strike too and am looking forward to it. I fell asleep the other night and found my glasses on the pillow in the morning. I've never done that before! It's a good job I didn't break them as for the first time I only got 1 pair of glasses last time and don't have a spare pair. I thought with my cataracts if they did them next time it would be a waste.

You got a lovely lot of toms to come back to AnnG and probably a good crop of weeds too with the rain we have had. OH did some weeding this morning and took out the nasturtiums which are fading fast. I have some pansy seeds drying in the conservatory and think we'll be clearing those pots next. The ones in the garden are still fine. I must check and see if our surgery is doing flu jabs yet. I'd like to get them as soon as we can in case they run out as they are encouraging more to get them this winter.

Yes I was impressed with Island's green pepper. I have tried growing them a couple of times but something ate them before we could! I prefer the red and orange ones, but don't the green ones change colour if you leave them? The same happened when I tried an Aubergine plant I bought. I loved her toms though, especially the purple ones.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 30 Aug 2020 21:35

Yes Ann
Lento of weeds, flowers gone over, Rubeckia out of control and grass that needs cutting as it couldn’t be done before we left.
To be honest I am not sure if I am more worried about OH’s back or his headache (or are the two linked?) it is really worrying, his head is worse this evening which may be caused by the concentration driving.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 30 Aug 2020 22:18

Glad your home safe but a shame oh has such a bad back and head. I think a visit to he docs is he bet thing as it has been going on for a long while now. Hope everything will be ok for him Anng.

I did'nt get as far as the border as I got lost in the shed. I potted up three sage cuttings and my poor lemon tree that has been in a three and a half inch pot for over 20 years. I keep it on the window sill in the kitchen but now its in a bigger pot it dos'nt fit there anymore. Then I trie dto get all the bindweed out of the wind flowers outside my shed as it was pulling them down onto the grass.

Seen more baby fish in the pond today too. I have at least 4 light coloured ones of various sizes and a lot of blacky grey ones which will either stay black or change colour at some point. One of the bigger whitey ones has three greyish spots near its head so that ones called Spotty Muldoon. It was the Shubunkin mating with the white and ortange goldfish I have seen spashing around in the weed three times at least.

Happy packing Jane and safe journey when you go. good job the alarm went wrong when it did and is now safe till you can get a new one fitted but as you say James will be home anyway.

Gill you had that sewing machine bought for you so why not get that out and chop up some of those old clothes and make something out of them. As Ann said there are lots of things to copy on Pinterest.

Not watched Strike yet as oh has not long gone to his study, Once he's in bed I shall watch it then. I did watch all the first ones again just to refresh my memory how the last series ended. Its written by J K Rowling under another name.

Good morning

I thought I’d be the first to say that today. I’m not having a good night. I fell asleep around 11.30 pm, woke at 1 am and have been lying here awake ever since. I’ve been trying not to put the light on but to lie quietly and wait for sleep to come but it’s now nearly 4.30 and I’ve just given in, made a cup of tea and got the iPad out to read my library book which is downloaded there.

Enough of my problems. I’m still functioning during the day so I must be getting enough sleep to keep my body going.

I hope everyone is having a better night than me. BBL in a more cheerful frame of mind.

Morning you too and all,

Beautiful morning here too blue sky with big white clouds and nice and warm.

Oh has the sprayer on the back of the mower which he is washing down (the mower not the sprayer) so I expect he will spray something in the garden today whether its weeds or the lawn I don't know.

Slept till nearly 11am this morning and then he woke me up. Sorry Vera!

I think I must do something inthe garden today and not mess about in the shed. I need to tidy the front of the bungalow and cut back the dead bits on the clematis in the tubs and top them up with fresh compost. The old Christmas tree also in a big tub needs topping too so I shall see how I get on.

Its no good hoping you all had a good nights sleep as we know poor Vera did'nt but I hope the rest of you did.

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 31 Aug 2020 12:12

I'm glad you got a good long sleep anyway Mel. I wouldn't wish this insomnia on anyone. I read till nearly 5.30 then I dozed off but I was still up by 8 am. I've changed all the bedding on 2 king sized beds and done 3 loads of washing. I've still got the duvet covers and a valance to wash but they can wait till tomorrow now. The washing's all hanging on the line but there's no sun and not much wind so I don't know how well it will dry. The temperature is 16 degs and not expected to go up much more today.

OH has suggested an early lunch and then a trip to a nearby country park for a walk. I'd rather stay here and get some jobs in the garden done, but I keep complaining he doesn't do enough with me so I've said yes to his suggestion. When I get back I'll have to sort out my Tesco order which is coming on Wednesday.

I had a nice morning yesterday as both my kids rang for a chat. While I was talking to my son he suddenly told me to go on to Facetime and then he took me on a virtual tour of the house to show me all the decorating they had done. It's a big Victorian house and they have put in all mod cons but kept original features and they have chosen paint colours that fit the style well. It's looking very good.

I'm pleased you got home without too much hassle AnnG but that headache and bad back of OH's don't sound too good as they have been hanging around for quite a while now. I hope he can at least get a chat with his doctor about it. How's your back now?

What a to-do with your burglar alarm Jane. At least you can go away reassured that James is around to look after things. Have a lovely time releaxing and spending time with Janice.

Good to hear that you are OK Frank.

OH is calling that he has made a sandwich for us so I had better go and have it. Might bbl.
