Ignore me AnnG.....it was the walnuts as I made a date and walnut cake when I got a delivery I didn't want! It just reminded me that's all.
Oh Vera how maddening! I have to say I don't like my ipad equivalent much at all. Other than for some browsing it is too much faff. Mine is so sensitive and seems to have a mind of it's own. Typing in the keyboard it changes so much that you type and it isn't easy to reposition the cursor to delete things then to correct it. The keyboard when it comes up covers any 'submit' you need to click on and on the Asda screen, the top banner covered where you could get into your orders which wasn't much use.
Yes, don't Jane and her sister look like laid back ladies of leisure! lol. :-D :-D I wonder if the gents took the plunge as well?
Apart from deleting a pile of emails I haven't done much else tonight. OH has made me a bit cross. When he got ready for footie he found he could no longer do up the jacket he usually wears......no surprise there with the all he's been eating just lately. He then announced that he is going to cut back (good) and won't be wanting potatoes or as much food. Now why did he decide to do this just after our order had come with the usual amounts of things like potatoes and a fridge full cheese and things like pasties he asked for and things with eat by dates looming??? :-S :-S He just doesn't seem to think at all sometimes. I'll see how strong his resolve is in the morning when I tell him the cross trainer in the conservatory wants a 'date' with him. ;-) ;-)
Off to bed now and I hope everyone sleeps well, especially Vera.

Had this from FG just to keep you lot up to date with how her daughter is coming along.
Hello Mel, Just a quick line to let you know that our daughter is now out of hospital and on her way home!! She had another scan this afternoon which showed that the lesion has begun to heal quite well and so it is safe for her to leave hospital. She will have to be carefully monitored, and of course she's on quite strong medication. Anyway it is a positive step forward and her text messages sound chirpy! We shall try and talk to her tomorrow. Nothing much happening here! Mr Fg has a new mobile phone!!! Actually we share the phone these days, as we usually go out together so it's not worth paying for two like we used to do when we were both working, He's putting on all his and my contacts, and being very busy!!!! Typical. man! Oh he's just poured me a shandy, so better watch what I say!! Do put this up on the thread if you want to.
Have started a couple of painted stones just copying some I have seen on the pc.

good morning. not dressed yet, waiting for OH to wake up and drink his tea. Don't think he slept too badly last night. I didn't have a great night but did get some sleep once he'd settled. He has a GP appointment at 4.20 this afternoon, fingers crossed they have a solution his headaches are getting him down.
Yes Mel wonder where Frank is.
good to hear FG's daughter is on the mend, hope she can take it easy and it continues to improve. I expect she will be nervous about doing too much.
Annx Ah, don't we always start diets just when we have restocked. Hope OH enjoyed the match after the long break. :-)

Good morning to you all,
What with one thing and another, I haven't opened my computer since I last let you know I was O.K.
I have been under the weather a bit with the fact I found I had a swollen Testi, I have been to the DRS and have to arrange a scan at the hospital.
I don't know if I mentioned that we took Harvey and Lewis out for a meal for Harveys B'Day. Julia was still in France, so she couldn't come. The meal was so good, I booked a table for last Sunday for Conrad and Jan. (Conrad Paid)
Bank Holiday Monday, Ros and I went to Brackley, where they have a VERY LARGE antique centre with over 200 sellers, not all there, Sales are through the main desk. From there we went to a pub for a meal, then came home.
The drain is still blocked. I am waiting for Harvey to ring to say when he is coming up. He has a container of Sulphuric Acid, which he is going to try. If this doesn't work, I can see I will have the expense of getting DYNA-ROD out to clear it. How much that will cost I hate to think. I have been searching for a PLUNGER that I know is in the garage, but I can't find it. Will have to get Ros to buy one from B & Q later today.
I am fed up to the high teeth, not being able to do anything in the garden. Barry came last night, and did the lawns, and trimmed a couple of bushes. He also took a very large GRASS out of the pond, shook all the little insects and frogs back into the pond, before putting it in the GREEN BIN. These are jobs, that I should be doing. !!!! :-( :-(
Going to catch up on Yesterdays paper, then see about something to eat and drink.
See you later, xxxx

Good afternoon all
Well, I am taking no chances today. I am typing this in Notes on the iPad and then I’ll c&p.
The sun has got his hat on today and at the moment it’s warmer out than in though I still needed a jacket when I went out. I went into town as a friend told me our independent dept store that’s closing in December had most of their stock on sale and she had bought a bra for £5. I need some new undies and the shop sell the brands of bra and pants I like so I went to have a look. Lots of stuff on sale but my bras were still full price, £34, and they hadn’t got my size anyway. The pants I like were also full price but I did get a box of 4 pairs as I had money on a loyalty card which I wanted to use before they close.
I’m glad you’ve enjoyed seeing the family Frank and your meals out sound as though they were pretty good. I hope you get a quick appointment for your scan.
Your OH got a quick appointment with your doctor AnnG. I hope the doc. can get to the bottom of his headaches. It’s miserable when they go on and on like that. How are both your backs now?
You and Janice looked very relaxed in the hot tub Jane. I’ve never been in one though my daughter does have one. She and granddaughter say they find it relaxing if they’ve had a stressful day, particularly with a glass of something bubbly, and I don’t think they mean lemonade lol.
I’m so pleased that fg’s daughter is back home. She’ll be more at ease in her own home and hopefully will recover quickly now.
Annx, I love my iPad and use it all the time. It will sometimes predict the word I start to type and get it wrong but I usually notice straight away and change it. It does save me having to go upstairs and switch on the PC every time I want to do something and it’s been a boon recently as I can borrow library books and read them on my iPad. That’s saved me having to go to the library and physically handle the books.
Mandy, I found the tuna quiche recipe so I’ll type it out and email it to you. I had taken it from a magazine and it is a Mary Berry recipe. Goodness knows how old it is but there is a picture of Mary looking very young and with 3 small children.
I have Tesco coming this afternoon and I am wondering if I can take a chance with the wiping down. I have been ultra cautious up till now but I think today I might wipe down everything I am going to use in the next 3 or4 days but if tins and packets are just going in the store cupboard and not being used quickly I might not wipe them. What do you all reckon? Will that be OK?
Well, I had better come to a stop as OH is making us a sandwich so we can eat it before Tesco arrive. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Vera I still wipe everything down and put it away that way I know I am safe. I do know some people don't do it at all but I would rather not take the risk.
Its good you found your recipe so you can send it to Mandy I am sure she will be pleased.
I did'nt do any ironing but did clean all the sink and hoovered the kitchen and dining area and a bit of the hall where the wire would reach and now its in the hall waiting to be plugged in there to finish off the bathroom, bedroom and spare room and uti. Then I think I will have achieved soemthing today in the way of HW and perhaps have a play this afternoon.
Going to get some lunch now as oh will be back soon from mowing.
Think I may do pilchards on toast with toms on top.

Glad you are ok Frank.
Vera, I do still wipe down but maybe not as thoroughly, daughter has never wiped down. It is hard to know which is best really but I think maybe we have all been a bit over cautious.
We are lucky in that we can normally get quite quick appointments and I also think they are ultra cautious with headache problems.
OH's back is still bad but mine is a lot better thanks.

Morning All,
Lovely sunshine again this morning but by lunchtime it was dull and a bit breezy so we ate in the conservatory. Small Haddock fillets with leeks, courgette, peas and a potato dauphinoise (bought).
I hope your OH gets some answers at his appointment this afternoon AnnG. It is miserable when you are in pain much of the time. Staying away does mean extra washing doesn't it. I must look at the forecast for tomorrow and get some done if I can.
The oven is nice and clean now, but when I went to get the Brillo pads to do the racks OH had used the last one and left the rusty mass in the packet!! What is this man thing that they never mention they have used something up or nearly used it up. He will put jam and piccalilli jars with a quarter of an inch of contents back in the cupboard but never think to add them to the shopping list. :-S :-S
The old dishwasher over the road was collected this morning and our wheelie bin lid the binmen broke has been mended although they haven't replaced the handle that they split.
Vera we haven't wiped everything down with our last 2 orders now. What we do is wipe everything that is for the freezer or fridge or that we want to use straightaway. The rest we leave in the boxes for 3 days to decontaminate before we put them away. If we find we need something sooner than 3 days we just wipe it before we use it. It takes less than half the time to do now which is much easier. We could go a step further and put things in plastic wrapping in one box and cardboard wrapping in another. Then we could treat it the same as what comes through the letterbox ie leave anything with paper on the outside for 24 hours and plastic packaging for 3 days. That was good finding your recipe for Mandy.
Mel you are being very productive today and I hope you get chance to do some crafts. You have reminded me about finding a terracotta pot in the shed so I will do that next! Thanks for letting us know FG's news about her daughter. She will be happy to be going home and hopefully she will recover well now.
Frank I would love to do lots of things I can't anymore so try not to worry about your garden so much. You have Barry to help with what you can't do now and Ros makes it a picture with her planting so enjoy looking at it. I hope your scan comes through soon. Hospitals are becoming your second home the past few months. How is the lump on your head now.....has it gone down?

I wimped out and did wipe everything down in the end on the basis of better safe than sorry. I feel shattered now.
I put the order in really late on Monday night and I was very tired and didn’t make a very good job of it. I have twice as many tins of prunes and bananas than I wanted. I think I put in the right amount and then my shaky fingers probably hit the key twice. I also forgot to order cheddar although I got 3 other cheeses and forgot the apple juice OH likes for breakfast. Still there were no subs and just one item unavailable and I had put a note that I didn’t want a substitute for that.
Do the rest of you feel that life has revolved around food for the last 6 months? You think about it, order it, wipe it down, cook it and then start the process all over again :-|
Easy dinner tonight, just eggs, chips and beans so OH said he’d cook. I’m going to put my feet up and read :-)

Good morning all, grey, dry and 18 degrees here at the moment. OH has gone for a blood test, 0830 appointment arranged by the doctor when he phoned at 7.45 last night.)
so far doc can find nothing wrong, he checked everything thought maybe BP was a bit high but that was probably because he had to wait 50 minutes for his appointment and was concerned about me worrying waiting in the car. He said if no better in two weeks to go back but headache and back should both heal on their own and to continue taking nurofen. He did admit to being puzzled as to why it was worse at night.

Morning Ann and All,
That's reassuring if the doc could find nothing obviously wrong so far with your OH AnnG and the blood test will check things further. It is interesting that they are worse lying down at night. Might it be to do with position/height of his head do you think? We are all losing bone as we get older and are prone to nerves trapping etc. My OH with having osteoporosis and meralgia parasthetica gets all kinds or nerve pains, numbness and lately headaches since he's been on the computer for lengthier periods. He has said his are worse lying in bed at night but has found raising his pillow height helpful so that might be worth trying, if he hasn't already, while he waits for the doc to get to the bottom of the problem.
Miserable morning here and now more workmen have turned up at Mrs O's and a neighbour next door to her in Jean's old bungalow had conservatory people turn up sawing and banging before 8.00am this morning. Of course that set off the noisy dog next door so I decided I may as well get up!
Lunch next, then my mind and time will be free for a few hours. I ought to do a bit of HW. :-S

Just lost my post now.
Morning Anng Ann and all,
Miserable morning with that fine rain that gets severywhere and its blowing in the wind too. Grey sky as far as the eye can see so no let up today I think.
Slept like a log. Phone rang this morning and it was the docs to say they can't get my Loiciod ointment for the blisters that come up on my hands and round my finger nails so they are giving me something else which is the equivalent. We'll see. It the only thing that cleared it up years ago in 2016 and I have had some left which works fine but its a bit greasey. Perhaps the new one is not so greasey we'll see.
I do hope T can get some relief from this back pain and headache as its really awful when you get the both together. Perhaps as Ann said more or less pillows. Its worth a try. Carry on taking the tablets............poor T.
We had F & C last night and I went down a bit earlier than usual so they did'nt run out of better. I told the girl I owed them 50p from the last time when the cash machine had gone wrong and I did'nt have enough proper money. She said thats ok forget it so I did. ;-)

Good morning to my lovely people.
You are not alone with the weather. Dull and drizzle here.
Tony has a young couple cutting down a BIG HOLY TREE. You wouldn't believe it, but they are loading the boot of a very small Hatch back, and taking it, I assume to the tip. They will be at it all day, at this rate.
Julia's DIL Allison, was taken into hospital yesterday, to be induced, the baby is due anyday soon. Ros has just rung Julia, but there is no news. So it's wait and see time.
My swelling has gone down, so before I make a hospital appointment for a scan, I will speak with the Dr. tomorrow, when I go back for my Blood Pressure.
Martine has rung to say they are not going to their Caravan this weekend, as Brian is feeling quite poorly, and doesn't want to travel. So the girls will meet up tomorrow, for a coffee, shopping and a chat.
I have been looking for somewhere nice to take Ros for her Birthday. I don't want it to be too far away, because she will have to do all they driving. So places like LONGLEAT and CHATSWORTH are out, (a) too far and (b) they want an arm and a leg for tickets. So I think a nice meal out, together with her card and flowers will be enough.
My mouse has decided to GO SLOW (I can't get it to move) so will say Bye for now. HAVE A NICE DAY. see you later. xxxx

Good afternoon all
Weather is much the same here as with most of you. It's not cold but grey and drizzly on and off and the wind is getting up now.
It's good that the doctor didn't find anything obviously wrong with OH AnnG. I was also going to suggest that he experiments with pillow arrangements. I normally just have one pillow but sometimes if my head is bad I have to have two or even half sit up with a pillow behind my back. I think it probably relieves pressure on the neck.
Oh dear Mel, now you're joining the Lost Post Club. Isn't it annoying when that happens?
Frank, I would be delighted with a nice meal out and flowers for my birthday and I am sure Ros will too. I must admit we haven't ventured to eat out yet but it would make a change from cooking. I am beginning to feel now that we have been ultra cautious and we should start getting back to some sort of life. I know that restaurants are being very careful and the places we go to are unlikely to be full of crowds of youngsters. I think I am just a scaredy cat.
Locally we are all agog to hear more about the bags of bones that were found in the river here. I expect you've seen it on the news or read it in the papers. I haven't been to that part of town in the last few weeks but I understand it's crawling with police and divers etc. They say it might be some time before the forensic examination can tell the police any more about the bones. All we know so far is that they are human.
OH has just called up the stairs to say our sandwich and cuppa are ready (lunch is his responsibility) so I'd better go and have it.
