Morning Ann and all Cloudy here too at the moment and still quite pleasantly breezy. I slept well last night and feel quite rested. Going to pop over to M&S at Rushden Lakes I have been ready for a while thinking they opened at 10 today but it is 11 so no point going just yet.
Mel I was thinking your OH would have liked the Sunflower farm that James and I went to yesterday. How much more does he have to paint?.We are all waiting to see the masterpiece :-D
Gill I really hope you can find some way or someone to get that bonnet open. What a real pain it must be and also a bit worrying if the alarm was to start going off again
Island I loved your colourful bunting in the Runners. It makes a lovely splash of colour.
How’s the head this morning Frank?Any easier? Fingers crossed it is.
Vera how is your headache today.I hope that it didn’t turn into a nasty migraine.
Ann how irresponsible of the parents to let those children cause havoc in your close. They obviously haven’t been taught any respect of other people’s things And to let them play in the road too!!!! How easy and quick for there to a a dreadful accident. I bet you are hoping they are just visiting and not living there permanently :-D
Fg has there been a huge influx of tourists to Weston with this hot weather?I was wondering how packed the beach has been.
Mandy I thought the Rose Garland was a clever idea. The girls will love it. How is Max coping with the heat? I know Thomas struggles. He seems to spend most of the night out and then sleeps for the whole day in the house where it is cooler.
Time to set off now.

O yes the sunflower pics were lovely Jane. Hope you find what you're looking for at M&S.
I hav'nt done any crocheting for years. Made my son a pale blue and white blanket when he was tiny that fitted in the carrycot pram I had. A few other things and of course the squares for bigger blankets. Mum knitted then and she gave me loads of wool.

Good morning to you all,
Milk and two sugars please Mandy. lol lol
It does seem cooler here today also. We have the doors and windows open, but there is very little breeze.
While Ros was watering last night she noticed the the Blackberries needed picking. So she's just getting dressed and will do that this morning. I can see Blackberry and Apple pies coming. I know she will take a dish full to Valerie, and she will properly make JAM.Can't remember the last time I had Bread and Jam. I loved it as a child. It was a good "BELLY FILLER" after school, and before the evening meal.
Have spoken to Harvey, and he will sort out the drain and weed situation ASAP.
I also spoke to my SIL this morning. All is good with her and the family.
We had an Indian last night, it was good, and up to their usual standard. In fact I had more than I could eat. It was ashame to throw it away, but I never eat takeaways the next day. I have a table booked at the "TOBY" for 3.00 pm today. This will make up for having to cancel last week.
More bruises seem to be appearing on my arms, legs, and shoulders. So I must have gone down like a sack of spuds. All the open grazes are now dried up, and ready for picking. ONLY JOKING. I will leave them alone, or Ros will be onto me. !!! Roll on Thursday when I can get the stitches out. They are getting really itchy. I have covered them with a new dressing, but that will need to come off when I shower and wash my hair.
Don't go spending all the house keeping money, at Rushden Lakes Jane. That's somewhere I haven't been, and I think Ros has only been there couple of times, and wasn't that impressed. But I suppose it's not everyones COT.
I'm now going to get shaved and showered, not sure if I will wear shorts and short sleeved shirt or Trousers. It seems that more and more youngsters, go into restaurants in either shorts orJeans. Something that just never happened, when I was young. Always suit, collar and tie, with polished shoes. Now it's trainers. !!! What has happened to DRESS CODE ???
I hope you all have a very pleasant day, whatever you might be doing. See you later. xxxx

I walked for half an hour, or rather dragged my feet round for half an hour. When I got back I put an old floppy hat on and went to do some gentle gardening but after 20 minutes of deadheading I had to come in. It was so hot and uncomfortable. I checked my weather app when I came in and it said it was 28 degs but feeling like 34 and in a couple of hours it will be 31 but feel like 37 :-0. I won’t be stepping out of the house again today.
I hope you enjoy your shopping trip Jane. At least the shops will be cooler with the air con. I liked your sunflower photos. Are the fields near you? I was weeding our pots one day and pulled up a tiny weed, about an inch high. Something made me suspect it wasn’t a weed so I planted it up in a tiny pot, then a bigger pot and a bigger pot......we now have a lovely sunflower in the garden, only about 4 foot high, but very cheerful looking.
I hope you are going to send us a picture of your OH’s sunflower masterpiece Mel. Won’t it be lovely if you do get baby fish.
Oh Ann, those girls sound right little demons. I hope for your sake that they are only visiting. They sound as though they need parents who can teach them that they can play and have a good time without causing hassle for the neighbours, but I expect they have parents who don’t give them much time or attention so they don’t learn any discipline.
I’m just having a cold drink and then I think I will prep the veg for tonight’s meal and sort out a snack for lunch. Enjoy the rest of your day whatever you are doing.

Thanks Ann for the youtube video of how to release the catch on the bonnet. I tried looking online but didn't come across that one, all I could find was one's going through the grill. With the grill being molded onto other parts of the car, if you see what I mean, (Sorry I'm not very good with cars lol) there would of been a strong chance the grill would of broken.
The video you gave me is brilliant and I'll show it to OH when he's home from work later, so he can try it tomorrow. He's working till late tonight and it'll be going dark by the time he's home, so best to leave it until he can see what he's doing on Monday morning as he has a day off then and won't be so tired as well. If the little lad can do it then I'm sure OH will be able to sort it out. Then of course he'll need to sort the cable out and check if he closes it, it won't jam again. He thinks the cable has come off somewhere under the bonnet.
Thank you so much for your help. <3 I'll let you know how he gets on. He just needs to find some aluminum now, or a metal ruler. He may end up with a few scratches on the car, but I don't think he'll mind and they'll be easy to sort out afterwards.
I still haven't caught up with all the posts, so hope everyone is okay. I haven't eaten anything so far today, so I'm going to get something now.

Pleased to see you had a good night's sleep Jane and are feeling a little better today. Enjoy your trip to M&S. Love the pics of the sunflower farm. Yes, I'm hoping Ann's video will work, I just need to find some aluminum now LOL, but at least he doesn't have to go through the grill and chance breaking it, or visit a Vauxhall garage where they'll probably to the same as the video then charge him a fortune for a two minute job. The video was for an Astra and ours is a Vectra, but hopefully the set up under the bonnet will be the same.
Those girls sound out of control Ann, let's hope they were just visiting and don't live there. The school's are due to open again next month, so it should be a lot quieter then.
Sorry to hear you had a hot sleepless night Vera, I hope you have a better nights sleep tonight. Enjoy your walk, I hope it's not to hot for you.
How lovely to have fledgling swallows Mel. Have you seen the birds on Gardeners World in Monty's shed? Can I ask who Vincent is, I must of missed a post with it on? Possible baby fish to look forward to I see.
Hope it's not to hot for your outside time Island and the storm keep's away, it sounds like we're all in for thunderstorms soon.
How is your head now Frank, I hope it's healing okay for you and you're not catching your stitches. When are they due to be taken out?
Pleased to see the weather isn't to hot for you Mandy it'll be lovely to sit outside when your family arrive. It's a bit cooler here today after being hot for a while.
I've been trying to catch up with some of the posts so still haven't eaten. I'm definately going to make myself something now as I'm starving.

Well it is a bit brighter now but no sun however, the temp has gone up to 20. It was pleasant in the garden earlier so, after prepping veg for this evening (including a few runners and baby carrots from the garden) I spent about an hour weeding and dead heading out there. Ought to get my lunch soon. OH is doing things with the dash cameras in the cars as they both had to come out for the MOT being in illegal places.
Vera your walk sounded a bit gruelling this morning, it is definitely an East/west split with the weather this week. We are promised Thunderstorms for the next 4 days.
Disappointing to see this morning that Gloucestershire has had 10 new cases in the past 24 hours and 4 of those were in the Teweksbury area, which is our area. 5 were in Gloucester itself and one in Cheltenham.
Ann I do hope those little girls are just visiting, by social housing do you mean you think a housing association has bought the bungalow? Or that it has been bought for a disabled person to live in? If the later I would think it possible that they are visiting although you never know. Maybe somebody should let the people know that the road is not as safe as it looks.
Jane did you enjoy your shop? and did you get something nice?

I've just text the fella who was going to call round in the morning to fix the alarm to let him know it's okay now, I nearly forgot. He text back to say if we have anymore problems to give him a call.
I'm having problems getting onto my emails so if anyone has sent any pictures and I don't comment, you all know why. Not sure what the problem is, but hopefully it'll sort itself out soon, if it doesn't I'll let you know and maybe you could send the pics via PM instead.
I see you managed an hour and a half's walk Vera. It sounds very hot by you. It's gone really warm here now, but the sky is full of clouds, not sure if we'll have the storm or not, I'm hoping it doesn't happen as I'm not keen on lightening, but if it does I hope OH is home from work first.
That's a bit of a worry with the 10 new cases and some not far from you AnnG. Keep safe. I hope it doesn't get any worse.
Did you buy anything nice at M&S Jane? Hope it wasn't to hot out for you.
I mis-read your post Mel and thought you said your OH had gone out meowing LOL :-D :-D :-D
Looking forward to the F1 race, with a bit of luck they'll do a bit of chatting first then OH should be in for when the race starts.
I've rang OH's friend to see if he has any aluminum he thinks he does and has gone to have a look in his shed. It's been a while since I rang and he said he'd ring me back. He's an old man in his 80's so I think I might give him another call to make sure he's okay. I wouldn't want him to hurt himself routing though his shed and no one knows he's in there. It's been almost an hour now. I know he has a lot of stuff, but I'd of thought he'd of rang me back by now. I hope he's okay and has just lost track of time.

OH's friend has just text to say he hasn't got any aluminum, so it's back to the drawing board as I'm not sure where to buy some from, we've never bought it before. At least I know OH's friend is okay, which is the main thing.
Good job I recorded the F1, it started at 6.30pm not 7.30pm, I'll watch it later when OH is home from work.

Gill the garage shoud have some long stips f metal they can open car door with. They shove them down the window gap. Surely they would have something to slide in there to get the bonnet open.
Gill I don't think you can send pictures by PM.
I have seen the race but am not saying anything.
I have hoovered up all the spiders and the bedroom diniing area and the hall. Dead headed soem flowers and am just going to go and pick my next ot of sweet peas.

Just for Gill and I'll catch up tomorrow!
If your car is a Vectra and like the model in this video you need a screwdriver and long arms Gill! The bar won't work! It seems they are all different.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPHOPQ56Zk0
You may still need the garage to do it!

Morning All
The air feels very odd I think this morning.I reckon it is going to be quite an uncomfortable day. Do i put washing out or not??? I have to go for my scan at 11 which is at the Woodlands hosptial and not the Genereal .It is in the mobile unit.I only remembered just in time that I have to be nil by mouth for 3 hours before so just mananged to have my breakfast in the nick of time. This afternoon I have a friend popping in for a cuppa and a chat. She only lives a few doors down but we have not seen eachother for ages other than telephone chats.
Yesterday I bought myself a rather nice Black and White sundress .I did have to lift the straps a little as it gaped a bit under the arms.
I need to hop in the shower now.

Morning all!
After a dull start, the sun is a-shining. I see lightning is creeping up the Bristol channel though :-0
Mel, our dog - he's a rough coated jack russell, part monkey, part wannabe human. I have one or two ........ dozen....... hundred photos of him, I'll get him to pick one out. Your mention of swallows has reminded me of the teeny swallow babies I saw years ago, out of the nest in a barn. I honestly thought they were little toys that someone had put there as a joke. Absolutely enchanting.
I keep meaning to say - it's wonderful to hear, and see, buzzards circling above us. Not something we had the pleasure of in the big bad city. My fella spotted a bat last night, it would be great if they have come back to their roost of a few years ago when we'd see them from our living room winow, flying past the side of our house.
Jane, lovely sunflowers!
AnnG, your garden produce looks tasty!
Have a lovely day everyone

Good morning to you all,
Jane, Ros used to go to the hospital, nice little place. I bet you will be in and out in no time. Far better than Kettering General.
We went to the TOBY for 3,00 pm. I didn't want a carvery, so Ros went to get hers, while I waited for the waitress. I wanted A LARGE PRAWN COCKTAIL. NO PRAWNS. so I went without, and had a pint while Ros ate her dinner. When we got home there was a seafood mixture in the fridge, that Ros bought me on Saturday. So I had that with a salad.
The blackberries that Ros picked were full of maggots. She cooked some apples, and put the blackberries in the bowl to wash them, before cooking, when the little BLIGHTERS floated to the surface. So they have been thrown away. She will have to tell Valerie as she took some down to her.
My head, where the stitches are, is very swollen and throbbing like mad. I am trying to keep my hands away from the area, but the stitches are beginning to irritate, and I want to scratch them. !!!!
It's a nice morning out there, so I will get my hat on, and sit and read for a while. Eos is at the hospital this afternoon at 2,30 for her Water infection (AGAIN) She is fed up to the teeth, with all this going back and forth, every few weeks.
Had a nice Eggs, Bacon, tomatoes and toast this morning so I won't want anything until tonight. Not sure what we will have, but I will sort something. I hope to catch up later, in the meantime have a nice day. xxxx

Morning all
Bright and sunny here, no sign of the thunder storm so I've put my washing out, there's a few clouds around but not black one's so hopefully the washing will dry as it's quite warm out there.
I was going to say the same thing Ann. I showed OH the video but our bonnet curves down with a grill attached to it that can't be taken off as it's all molded together, so now I'm wondering if it could be done from the side of the bonnet if there's enough room for the metal to slide underneath, then move it sideways rather than forward. Not sure if it'll work though, so if it doesn't he'll have to take the car to the garage and see if they can sort it out. Not sure how much that'll cost though.
He tried doing it the way you've just said but couldn't do it, even the garage had a go by pulling the lever inside the car while OH pushed down hard on the bonnet, but it wouldn't have it and it's still jammed. We were thinking of changing the car at some point, but it's a nuisance this has happened as he wanted to part ex our car for a different one and it might de-value it now, you know what garages can be like and they'd probably be able to sort it in a matter of minutes as well.
Pity it's not a service garage, just one that buys and sells cars and if they can give us less for ours with the bonnet problem, I'm sure they will. OH said to say thank you for the video. At least he knows when buying another car to check how the bonnet is made, these are things you don't think about when buying a car, but then realise the problem later on when it's to late. At this rate he's going to have to break the grill to get to the cable and spring. I hope it doesn't cost to much to replace the grill.
I've had pictures sent to me via PM Mel, I think you attach them the same way as an email. I'm still having problems with my emails, so that's another problem to sort out.
I would put your washing out Jane, I thought the same thing this morning with all the clouds around but it's so warm outside it should dry, providing we don't get the rain of course. I hope all goes well with your scan, that was lucky having your breakfast just in time. I see you've treated yourself to a nice sundress, that'll keep you cool in this warm weather. Enjoy your catch up with your friend later.

I missed your post Frank. What a pity they didn't have any prawns at the Toby, at least you had something nice when you got home. Try not to scratch your head, it'll only make it worse and you don't want to end up with it infected. Enjoy your book in the sun. Hope all goes well with Ros, the poor woman, she must be getting fed up of these water infections all the time.
OH has another dentist appointment this afternoon, his abscess hasn't quiet cleared so he needs more antibiotics and now he has really bad tooth ache, so it looks like he might need another tooth out, I hope if it's taken out he doesn't end up with another abscess, that's the last thing he needs. He was in so much pain in work yesterday the nurse told him to ring the emergency dentist. He did this and was in a queue, when he ended up first in the queue it cut off, twice. So as you can imagine he's not a happy bunny at the moment as he never got through in the end and had to ring our dentist this morning.
Going to make myself a drink and have a sit outside, it's lovely and warm. OH's gone to his mates, so it's nice and quiet to.
