good morning all a bit of a grey day here and only 13 degrees. As I said I woke with a painful stiff neck/shoulder, opposite side to my achey arm. OH has a painful back so we can't make a whole one between us.

Ann Yes we have a cupboard in the bedroom with overflow goods, do you think we are all fearful of a second lock down so are 'hoarding'?
I really ought to do something with the extra large cues we have as they are not getting eaten fresh, OH is not keen and there is only so much I can eat.
so you have been de-cluttering as well.
We can't drive my car at the moment because the MOT is out, we couldn't get it in before tomorrow even though we reid to book it a couple of weeks ago it should have been done on the 2nd.

Gill I bet it is chaos at yours at the moment. Is Sandra pleased to be home, or confused. It is so disruptive for her isn't it? Although she gave it a good try, it must be 8 months now. Any idea why she changed her mond?

Vera, another late one? Hope you eventually managed to get to sleep ok..

Mel are you all ready for the shopping? what an exceiting life we all lead these days.

Frank Report 4 Aug 2020 10:11

Morning all, I can hardly see the keyboard, so excuse any mistakes.

Right eye is almost closed and the left is not far behind. Had another nurse here yesterday, doing what nurses do. !!! Alls fine.

Had another on and off nights sleep, so will no doubt catch up with what I want during day.

Why does the computer put words into a sentence that you haven't typed. ???Drives me mad, A MACHINE THINKING FOR YOU> !!!!.

Same as, everywhere else today, cloudy and dull. Ros has popped down to water Carolyn's pots. She will do ours later if we don't get rain.

Stay safe girls, I will get back on here as and when. xxx

Morning to you all,

Bit grey here now after a sunny start to the day.

What wonderful news from Gill that Sandra has come home. We will wait to hear from you once you are all settled back in. I bet she missed the garden and her wild birds.
Love to Sandra <3 <3 <3 <3

Yes nearly ready I just have to wipe all the surfaces down before it arrives so I can set to work.

Love to Frank and Jane and hope Frank managed to get some sleep with all his injuries. Hope too that Jane is feeling better today. <3 <3 <3 <3

We had the deer in the orchard this morning eating the apples and I hav'nt a day lilly in sight so she must have eaten those too. Did'nt get a picture as oh ( or should I say Vincent) was just about to go round to the workshop to get on with his masses of sunflowers.

Just a quickie as we're really busy sorting Sandra's things out. She's been on her phone since she got up letting everyone know what's going on. She's okay but not very happy with Michelle and Michael. Apparently they kept shouting at her and telling her to go, so she rang yesterday and OH has brought her back. I'm not asking questions it's up to her to tell me if that's what she wants.

The washing machines just finished so I'd better go and sort it out.

I haven't read any of the posts properly so hope everyone is okay, I just skimmed through them to let Sandra know you hadn't forgotten her. I think it's going to take a few days to sort her things out as she has so much.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 4 Aug 2020 12:19

Done it in record time. It came with no poly bags to wipe down and only the the fridge stuff came in small poly bags and some of the veg.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 4 Aug 2020 13:06

Is that Asda Mel? Annx said they have stopped using bags.

Gill take your time and don't worry about us, Sandra needs time to talk to you. She will tell you what the problem was soon enough. I expect it is lovely having her home if a little confusing for both of you. Hopefully her bedroom was ready for her.

I suspect more work ahead sorting out the money situation. And do you need to speak to S Services again?

M & M are unbelievable, if they were shouting at her to go you'd think she had chosen to go and live with them, not been taken.

Afternoon All,

Just popping in quickly to say what great news that Sandra is home again!!!! :-D :-D :-D <3 <3 <3 Well done to your OH for going to fetch her at such a late time too and I hope she wasn't upset. I wonder why M&M got the police involved again? Are they frightened they might be blamed for her wanting to go home and wanted a record of their version of events? Who knows! Anyway, please tell Sandra we are all so chuffed we will be hearing about her again. Your news has quite made my day!! :-) :-)

BBL to read the other posts!

Gillx Report 4 Aug 2020 14:41

Sandra's talking with her cousin, she's been on her phone quite a bit today. We've finally sorted all her clothes out, you couldn't see the living room floor she has so much. At least OH can sit down now. He's absolutely shattered so is going to go back to bed as he only had an hours sleep before having to get up to go to work. Luckily he was only on an 8-2 so is home now. I'm still plodding through all the washing as Sandra had a pile as well. I've only had a couple of hours sleep so I'm starting to feel very tired now.

I'm not sure what Sandra wants to go through next as she's still on the phone, so I might catch up with one of my soaps I recorded last night. I was on the phone with Sandra from 6.30pm to 2.30am that's how long it took to get her, then a further 2 hours to unload the car before we finally went to bed.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 4 Aug 2020 16:14

Gill early night tonight then. Has she got more clothes than she had before she went to live with M&M. As she has been on the phone so much has that been restricted at Michelle's I assume her phone is on contract not pay as you go?

You will find it strange now (but nice I expect) not only having yourself to please when OH is at work. That must have been hard for him, only an hours sleep and having to start a new job.

Frank Report 4 Aug 2020 16:18

WELCOME HOME SANDRA. I bet you will be happy, with you Mum and Dad. M & M seemed to have lost the plot, shouting like that.

I had the CARE AND REPAIR man here this afternoon. Ros had to show him the drive and steps, where I have fallen. as I was sat in the armchair, and didn't want to have to walk around. He has taken photo's, didn't have any comments to make, but said. I will get an Email before the weekend. Hopefully it will be so say, that it needs doing and when. He did say that A SLOPE and HAND RAILS were needed, where the steps are, so I hope he is also thinking and recommending that the drive needs attention.

I rang and told Conrad, as I knew he was very concerned about my safety when going anywhere near those steps. He sounded well pleased. He was just going to the tile manufacturers, to label up the pallets of tiles, that are being shipped over for his PATIO. He won't let anybody to go outside, where I had my fall. He has said to JAN that the area is a death trap, and she should make sure Jo and Ella stay away from it.

The day in general, has been rather dull and cloudy. At the moment the sun is out, and it's very warm outside.Ros has just bought the car in from the road, where she put it, so the chap could take his Photo's.

Roast lamb and roasted vegetable with baby new potato's for dinner tonight. Not that I have any appetite. I seemed to have lost mine, since the accident. Possible the shock has come into play. !!!

No nurse this afternoon, so perhaps as I am going to see the local nurse on Thursday, they have stopped coming.

I hope you are all well, and that Jane is feeling a little better.

Kim, Ros's GOD DAUGHTER bought back my exercising wheels this morning, with a nice plant for Ros. But not a word of apology, for keeping them for almost TWO YEARS. Her mother, who was Ros's Mum and Dad's neighbour has terrible DEBENTURE and doesn't even know who her daughter is. Poor woman, and her family. Mind you she is 92.

I'm back to my book. See you in the morning. xxxx

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 4 Aug 2020 16:33

Frank that is good that you have had the steps and drive looked at. I hope they say that it can be done for you. Yes, probably you don't need to see a nurse again until Thursday. I hope the cuts are healing and hope the eye swelling will go down soon. You probably have o appetite because you feel unwell after the fall, however, try and eat a little to keep your strength up. Good too that Conrad is treating where you fell seriously.

I made three small pots of cucumber and onion relish this morning. Hoping it will be ok as I have not made this one before, I didn't have all the ingredients for the one I made a couple of years back. This one should have had green peppers in it but I left them out and adjusted it a it so hope it is ok. OH is not keen on peppers. Shall have to wait and see what it is like, it just tool one and abit cucumbers. and a small red onion.

We went to the golf club for coffee this morning, sitting outside. On the way back to the car we met a friend who we have not seen since last year so stood socially distanced although not 2 metres apart chatting for about 20 minutes, it was good to catch up. She has not been playing a lot of golf apparently as she had a hip done earlier in the year.

Then this afternoon I walked round to the book stall and took some books and other stuff. There were also some free apple fallers so I just happened to have a small polythene bag in my pocket so brought back half a dozen of the larger ones (which are not very big. Just need some blackberries to go with them now.

tomoorow my car goes for its MOT and service then, when we collect it we leave OH's car for MOT and service which will be done on Thursday. I am quite nervous as I have not driven since the beginning of the year. Hopefully it is not something you forget how to do. :-S

You'll be ok AnnG its like riding a byke you never forget. Just take it easy and it will soon all come back to you.

Sounds like Sandra has come home with more clothes than she went with. Fancy them shouting at her!!!! Hope she settles in quickly now she is back home with mum and dad. Lots of gentle cuddles needed I think. and here's some XXXX's from me.

Can't seem to get into anything this afternoon so I must be having one of those days.

Oh has just been in a wahed one of his brushes out and left the tap dripping so I better go and turn it off as it is driving me potty.

Evening all,

Gill you must be so pleased to have Sandra home again ,i hope she's ok fancy them shouting at her poor girl that must have really frightened her ,she's in the best place now back home with her mum and dad .

It's been quite a nice day here i popped to town to get a crab from the fish stall and then into boots for our tablets ,went nice and early so there wasn't many people about .

Mel i'm looking forward to seeing" Vincent's " master piece when its finished :-D

Frank it will be so much better for you if they can do you a slope with a hand rail down into the garden you've tripped on those steps so many times and it will be better for Ros too when she gets plants to take into the garden .

AnnG i'm sure you'll get the hang of driving again ,we had our MOT done as they had started doing them again but we could have left it as we had the extra six months added but we didn't want to have it done right near christmas .

Annx

Annx Report 4 Aug 2020 21:41

I hope your stiff neck has eased a bit AnnG and I'm sure you'll be fine driving. I have only been driving about once a fortnight to keep the battery topped up, but the traffic was going much faster earlier when there was less on the roads than now so it should be better. I tried to book our cars in today and had forgotten the city has been under lockdown with not everywhere open. I find it all confusing now, who is open where etc. The upshot was I got a recorded message to email them which I did and gave suitable dates. They have replied that they are working half days and will be in tomorrow when they will be able to check the diary and ring us. They sounded very pleased and grateful to hear from us.

Thank goodness you have got someone in about those steps Frank. :-) I bet the boys are so relieved too. Making it all safer and easier for you is the way to go. :-) I hope the swelling and bruising is improving now. You've given your poor old head some right wallops lately.

It sounds like Sandra might need an extra wardrobe for all her clothes Gill. What is her hair like now only I remember you saying not long after she left that she was having it cut and coloured? I don't remember hearing your OH had a new job, but best wishes to him and I hope he settles in well.

Sorry you didn't have a great night Vera, but hopefully tonight will be better. My body clock seems to have slipped forward a few hours now so I often can't get to sleep, so wake up far too late!

Morning all,

Brightish and windy this mroning.

How did we all sleep??? I hope you some even if it was only a short one.

Bet Gill and family slept like logs after their tiring day collecting Sandra and sorting out her clothes. She must be so happy to be back with mum and dad.

What are you all up to today? something nice I hope.

Frank Report 5 Aug 2020 11:51

Good morning Mel, and all.

I for one didn't sleep well. By 9.30 pm I was totally BUSHEDso went to bed. Ros came in at midnight, and I was still wide awake. I must have dropped off sometime, because I woke up with a STINKING HEADACHE.

It does seem strange getting up and having a wash down, rather than jumping in the shower. I can't wash my hair either, so just rub a flannel over the bits that I can. without touching the dressings. I can't even comb my hair.

Ros got me Crumpets with MY MATE on, and three COT. I have had a glass of water to take my tablets. I have been taking LACTO LOOSE (SP) for you know what. !!! It seems to have worked a bit, the first time since THURSDAY. I expect it's been a shock to my system, after the accident.

Whenever I type a capital "R" when I look at the page it's an "E" I know the keys are next to each other, but I am sure I am not hitting the "E" instead of the "R" How strange.

Roll on tomorrow, I can't wait to get these dressings changed. They are so tight to my head, I am sure this is why I have this permanent headache. I take two painkillers every morning, with my other medications, so don't like to take anymore until the evening, when I take two more.

I do ENVY you Mandy, being able to go and buy a FRESH CRAB. It's one of my favourites. I can just taste it now with a fresh salad. STOP my mouth is watering.

Glad you are all able to get your cars MOTd. Ours is all done, but Ros has said she has a nasty knock, coming from under the car. So I must ring the garage and get them to look at it.

After having my crumpets nd tea, I went for another lay down on the bed. It has eased my headache slightly, so I won't stay on here, straining my eyes. See you later all, and have a good day, whatever you might be doing. xxxx

Annx Report 5 Aug 2020 11:57

Morning Mel and All,

Sunny and a bit breezy here! I was in bed early and didn't drop off till about 1.00am but slept through till nearly 9.00am which was good. The phone rang then and it was the garage for me to book our cars in for September and October so that's sorted. They said the same as Gill about everyone whose MOT was extended will be rushing to get theirs done when the extension period is up.

Just put lunch in the oven, those tasty ham and leek bakes Mel. Also the broccoli bake and I've done carrots, purple beans and courgette to go with it.

Today's delivery is my new steamer I think so I shall be trying that tomorrow. Would it sterilise our masks I wonder? Otherwise I plan to potter about doing this and that but must get the filters out of my hoovers and wash them. I ought to plant out more lettuce seedlings too. There's always something to do.

Yes I bet Sandra will be full of chat now she's home and be still sorting her bedroom out and where to put everything. I expect she will love seeing the birds and her garden with lights again.

Better put the veg steamer on now.

Morning all,

Bright and breezy here today the bedding is on the line and blowing well,I've made runner bean pickle today as there are so many runners ,yesterday I made some Piccalilli and there's still a bit big of marrow left so enough to probably make another two lots just need somemore viinegar.

Hope Gill and family had a good night's sleep after their late night one the night before and Sandra is happy to be home .

Frank the crab was very nice fresh cooked that morning so you couldn't get fresher than that .
Your head might feel better once you get the dressings changed and the stitches out it was quite a bad accident you had so will take a while to get over ,it's quite a shock to the system when you go down like that .

Max is having a little moan at the gate ,Colin has gone out to weed down beside the wall and he wants to be with him.

Right better find my next job BBL

AnninGlos Report 5 Aug 2020 12:39

good afternoon all. We dropped my car off and (T followed me down), then we drove down the M5 to Dobbies and had breakfast as they are in the Eat out to help out. Two traditional breakfasts for £4.40. they were very good. We still had two free coffees on our Dobbies card as well.
Bought a few bits. A hardy geranium for a pot that has dying petunias in it, three books for £5 for Inara (in the Works) and tomato food.
Garage phoned, car needs two new tyres and a windscreen wiper blade (knew about the tyres) and also something to do with the brakes that may be cured when cleaned otherwise will be replaced. We just said to do it all, no point leaving it and these are the first things needed since we bought it 4 years ago this week.

Neck is still a bit sore but not as bad as it was yesterday.
