Frank Report 8 Apr 2020 16:39

Afternoon all,

Nothing to report, apart from me feeling very faint this afternoon. I only sat outside for half an hour, so not putting it down to the sun.

I typed my post this morning, but forgot to send, that's why it looks late. OLD AGE CREEPING IN lol lol

Ros has been to get some wool so she can continue to make Baby cloths. While out she bought more plants for the garden. She is doing the pond now. She heard a frog croak, but didn't see it. As she pulled out a load of rubbish, from the pond it was attached to A LOT OF FROG'S Spawn. She has put that back. She then saw the FROG.

I have the oven on to warm. The Lamb shanks I have, need an hour to heat and cook through. By the size of them, one would have been big enough for us to share. It's like half a leg, rather than a shank. lol lol

Stay safe dear friends. xxxx See you in the morning.

Ann oh told me a tiger had died of coronavirus so perhaps thas why they are saying to keep your cats in. When you think about it cat do go for miles when they are out.

AnnG I have just had a little go with my clay this afternoon on the new stuff oh bought me. Not sure it will work yet but we will see. I am still waiting for the oven to warm up.

Hoovered through today while oh was out fiddling with the grass. So at least I feel as though I have done something today.

Cold chicken and chips and peas tonight so nice and easy.

Enjoy your lamb shanks Frank and sorry to hear you've felt a bit dizzy today. I still think Ros is silly going out when she should be staying indoors.

AnninGlos Report 8 Apr 2020 20:22

Several people in this area have been fined for breaking the lockdown going out for non essential things. Ros really shouldn’t go out unless for food or medicine. It is so infectious she might not catch it herself but could bring it home to you Frank. And the police have also been stopping people buying things like plants from shops.

Evening all

I've been busy with my family tree today, but don't seem to be getting very far, luckily I have someone helping me, but even she's having problems. I see now why I left them last time around.

Pleased to see James is getting sorted with his new job, I'm sure the bits he's never done before we soon be sorted. I'm assuming he has someone helping him like they do when you go out to work. A letter with Bishop Jane what ever next lol. That was nice of the butcher to deliver the meat to you, that's one less thing to think about now.

I see you got your meds in the end Ann, I bet your a lot happier now.

Ros is keeping busy isn't she Frank, she never stops does she. Sorry to hear you've been feeling faint, I hope you feel better now.

I didn't know the police were stopping people buying plants AnnG. I've been very good and not gone out at all. Mum was here with the wool the other day for about 2 minutes and we kept the correct social distance, she'd been to the shop for food and brought me a couple of things, which was nice of her.

Going to watch the end of "For the love of dogs" before going back to my family tree.

Yje moon is beautiful isn't it Mel. Supermoon or Spring moon.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 8 Apr 2020 23:19

Or red moon.

They have changed my email page and I can't get the pc to put you all on an email. The only two people I can get on are Annx and Frank. I have just had to put AnnG in my contacts and others are'nt showing up like Vera and Mandy and Jane or Gill.

Its all so different with only a small side bar with the emails on which I have managed to widen a little. If you put your cursor on an email thats coming in you can usuall right click and it tells you who its from if I don't want it it goes in spam but you can't do that now.

I wish they would just leave us alone with what we have on our pc's as I just can't seem to get my head around this.

Morninq all
I hope everyone had a good nights sleep. FRank hope you have no more dizzy spells today. We can't have to risking any more falls. HOw were the Lamb Shanks last night ?
I was woken in the night with a bit of a nose bleed :-S. I think it is the injections I have to have every day that is the cause . I ordered more injections the day before yesterday and asked for the prescription to be delivered.I arrived yesterday afternoon. Less than 24 hrs after my request. HOw good a service was that !!

Ann you must be relieved now to have finally got all your meds.Good thing to have changed Pharmacies .This one sounds far more reliable .

ANnG are you still having to use the cream on your BBCs? I can't remember how long you said you had to do it for.I think it was you who asked if I had ofinished Chemo. I finished the 6 cycles of the horrible drugs but will still have to go every 3 weeks for the infusion of Herceptin and continue with my chemo tablets twice daily.

ITlooks like another very warm day today :-D. Chris is miffed as the sander thing he was using yesterday on the patio table and chairs packed up. it started smoking. !!
Now of course he can't just nip to B&Q or Wicks to get a new one. he tried the B&Q online but it was busy and he got nowhere. he might try again today.
The local garden centre deliver a load of compost and plants yesterday. They are obviously trying to get rid of all their stock as I imagine all the garden centres will be doing .

I hope we hear from Vera today.

Ros is a real trooper Frank making all these masks and scrub bags . well done Ros.
Gill I hope OH and all the staff and residents are well and that the virus stays well away from them all.

Time for breakfast now

AnninGlos Report 9 Apr 2020 10:00

Oh good that the worst chemo has ended Jane. Is it the other one that makes you giddy? Have you checked with the surgery if it is normal to have a nose bleed. That is usually if what you are injecting is blood thinning isn't it?

Typical that the sander should pack up when you can't get to a DIY place to get spares. Just when the weather is good for working on the table outside.
Glad that you liked the moon photo. It was an absolutely clear sky and right in front of my office window was the moon. Beautiful

Mel, yes I realised that was the last time we heard and wondered if the migraine developed into a bad one. Maybe her internet is down though, better that than a migraine.

Morning Jane and AnnG and all,

We have a beautiful morning here and I have just apid for my asda order for next Tuesday.

Definately be out in the garden today if its not too hot.

Jane thats not nice to have a nose bleed in the night! You had better check if it is a side effect of your meds just incase. Good you have finished the chemo but not so good you still have to go every three weeks. Is it the Herceptin that makes you dizzy? or is that not too bad?

Still can't get my head around sending an email to all of you at once with this new setup on the pc. Its all so different and I do wish you had a choice whether to have it or not and stay as you were.

Frank Report 9 Apr 2020 14:10

Afternoon to all you lovely people. xxxx

We are both well.neither of us had the best of nights. It might have been to warm, that kept us waking up. We only have a top sheet and a lightish cover on the bed, so it\s not that the cloths are too heavy.

Ros changed the bed this morning and got it in the Machine, before going to deliver Martines B'Day present. It turned up two days late. She then went on to M & S. As she approached the front entrance, a young assistant asked "are you coming to shop" when Ros said yes, she said the queue starts over there, and it will take about 20 minutes before you can get it. Due to Ros's back problems, she got her a chair. Then a young lady in the queue said, you go in front of me. NOBODY SAID A WORD. What kind people there are around.

She has bought loads of READY MEALS to save me standing, preparing vegetables. So I am a lucky boy. I did have a nice couple of "PULLED PORK Sausage rolls she brought home, plus a hot X bun with a coffee. So I am all sorted until tonight. lol

Simon rang me back this morning, I had left a message on his Mobile. They have decided as the weather is so nice, they have TURNED AROUND and set off back up the Canal. As they are still both on leave from work, they thought why do we need to go home. Their dogs, are with them, and getting plenty of walk along the Canal paths.

Ros (BLESS HER) has now made over 40 SCRUB BAGS, no doubt she will do more later. At the moment she is down the garden, doing more tidying and trimming plants.

This weather is just unbelievable, I have been sitting on the patio in shorts and my hat, reading my book. After I finish here I will be going back. !!!!

That's a shame about your Email problem Mel, Can't you ring BT and get someone to help sort it out.

Those Lamb shanks were very tasty last night. I did Roast pots and parsnips, Brussels, cabbage, peas and carrots with them.

I do hope every last one of you, and your families are taking the advice. TO STAY HOME, and keep yourself safe.

Thinking of you all at this terrible time. xxxx

Afternoon All,

Beautiful sunshine again, aren't we lucky that it hasn't rained for days on end! Thank you for the moon pics Mel and AnnG. I missed it because I forgot!!

I was wondering if Vera was ok too. I hope it is just a computer or internet problem, although didn't she say that her migraines can last several days attimes?

Frank it is no good keep telling us to stay inside when Ros seems to be going out more than any of us and not just for food or medication. :-0 I see Northampton Police are stepping things up this Easter weekend, as I expect most Police Forces will, and will not only be fining people not sticking to the rules but also arresting them in some cases. Simon and Sally are running the risk of being reported by anyone who sees them and it isn't as if they can say their boat is their main home.

Ros is doing a wonderful service with all the bags she is making and her sewing machine must be red hot. Who provides the material for them and for the masks? I must say she does such a lot for the community one way or another, hats for premature babies, twiddle muffs and now laundry bags and masks.

Mel I think Mona is letting you know why she is a moaner with that big egg! I hope you manage to get out in the garden today. I planted old french beans I found yesterday and have an assortment of pots of seeds now. The beetroot are pushing their red stems through already, but I've already forgotten which is which of two pots I forgot to mark and thought I would remember. I'm going to order more seeds today.

That nosebleed must have been a surprise in the night Jane, but as you say it could be the injections that cause it. At least you have your own Medic on the spot! That was an absolutely excellent service from your pharmacy as you say. :-D I'm a bit lost with your treatment plan, but am glad you have finished the unpleasant chemo drugs and so many hospital trips presumably. Do you need another scan soon or is it just chemo tablets for a while now? Poor Chris will need sandpaper and elbow grease now the sander is out of action. He could always buy another on ebay though.

Or from Amazon.

Have sent a pic of Phil Pheasent lying in the sun and he has a butterfly not far from him on the wall. I thought If I go and get the camera the butterfly will be gone by the time I take it but it was still there so I took it through the dirty window.

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 9 Apr 2020 17:29

Good afternoon everyone

Well, I am vaguely back in the land of the living after a horrid week.

I had a very restless night on Sunday and woke on Monday still feeling grotty but I decided I would feel better if I got on and did something useful so I cleaned out another 3 kitchen cupboards and cut back a load of penstemons. In the afternoon Tesco came with a delivery. Why is it everyone else, even the lady next door, gets their deliveries in bags and I don’t? The chap wheeled all the crates up to the front door and I had to decant all the goods into bags myself before taking them all through to the kitchen. I sent OH away as I knew he would just shove stuff in the cupboards and I wanted to go over a lot of the stuff with wipes. It took me forever to get it all sorted and by the time I went to bed, much earlier than usual, the pain was so intense that I couldn’t lay down because of the pressure on my head. So I got on the bed but sat up all night.

Tuesday passed me in a blur. I know I got up and dressed and I know I prepared a stew to do for 2 days but I can’t remember anything else about Tuesday.

Are you bored with my tale of woe yet? Wednesday I just pottered about in the morning and planned to go and pick my medication up in the afternoon. OH said he would drive me as I was still a bit shaky. Guess what? Car wouldn’t start! The battery was flat as it had sat in the garage for three weeks and had missed its annual service booked for 31st March. We no longer seem to have jump leads and our neighbour doesn’t have any. So I decided to walk to the pharmacy, a round trip of about 2.5 miles. I hadn’t gone very far before I realised I wouldn’t make it as every time I put my foot down a pain shot through my head. By the time I had turned round and got back home OH had found a very old (60 years old?) charger that he’d connected to the battery. I was pretty uptight by then so it was another early night. I drifted in and out of horrendous nightmares till I forced myself to stay awake because I couldn’t bear the dreaming anymore. Nightmares seem to be a common feature of my migraines.

Today the car started first time so OH drove me into town. No trouble getting my meds at all. I had to wait outside the shop for a few minutes as there were two people inside when I arrived but when I got inside my meds were ready for me. Normally I mark the prescription up with what I want next month and initial it but the assistant did it for me this time so I didn’t have to touch it at all. As we were out anyway I was going to shop for a bit of fresh veg and fruit but the queues from the supermarkets were winding round the car parks and up the side roads. I was surprised that the market was open though there were only a couple of stalls there but I wouldn’t go to my usual veg stall because of the way people were crowding round it.

I have managed today to read all the posts I missed but I will be here all night if I respond to them all. I got your lovely moon pictures AnnG & Mel. You had a really red moon Mel. I looked at it through the window and it looked quite yellow but it kept drifting in and out of the clouds and once when it was right behind some clouds there was a sort of pinkish tinge to the sky.

I went online today to order a few plants for delivery. I nearly ordered on one site till I noticed a few lines in small print that said anything ordered today would be delivered Spring 2021!! Then I opened the first page of another site that told me I was 754 in the queue to ENTER their website. Eventually I ordered from Beth Chatto as they are not much more than 20 miles from us and they had all I wanted, but they are not the cheapest place and I had to pay £10 for delivery.

Well I had better go and think about what I am going to put with the salmon I took out of the freezer this morning. Stay safe and well everyone and enjoy the sun.

Gillx Report 9 Apr 2020 17:44

Afternoon all

Bright and sunny here, I'm still plodding on with my family tree, in between housework and washing.

Sorry to hear you've had a nose bleed Jane, I hope you don't have another one. That was quick your injections arriving so soon, brilliant service. The Coronavirus isn't at the home OH works, thank goodness, although one of the nurse's father passed away a few days ago and although it wasn't the virus, the doctor said it was on his death certificate, she's not happy about it. He died at his home. I felt sorry for her because she couldn't see him in his final hours, it's so sad. OH said all the staff are going to have a Coronavirus test in a couple of weeks, so he's been told. He's okay and so is everyone else, so he doesn't know why they are all being tested. I suppose it's just to be on the safe side incase they are starting with it, but haven't got any symptoms yet. Poor Chris with the sander not working, is he having to do all the sanding by hand now, that will be a big job if he is?

That was nice for someone to offer their place in the queue to Ros, Frank and for the other lady to bring her a chair. Like you say there are some lovely people around.

Sandra text me the other day and said the moon was going to be pink around 10.35pm two days ago, OH and I looked but the moon was it's normal colour. I guess she got the day and time muddled up so I missed it. Great photo of it Mel, thank you Ann for passing it onto me. I wish I'd seen it in the flesh so to speak, it must of been lovely to see.

Did the red slide over the moon and then off it like an eclipse Mel?

What a lovely picture of Phil Pheasant and the butterfly, you were lucky they were still together when you got your camera, mind you it looks very sunny and warm so I doubt either of them fancied moving. Lovely photo to keep, I doubt you'll be presented with the opportunity again. I see you got your "Plenty" kitchen roll you wanted lol.

Lovely picture of the spring moon AnnG.

I thought the moon was very bright last night, I went out to see it around 2am and you'll never guess what happened. A very large hedgehog ran along the grass and almost walked over my feet, I kept very still, so did OH and it walked past me and OH and went down the bottom of the garden out of sight. I came in and put some nuts out for it, I'll have to ask OH when he gets in from work if they were all gone when he got up this morning, if they were at least the Pigeons would of enjoyed them.
