Of course not AnnG. I love reading all the long posts but I just can't seem to find thigns to say of interest to you all and I don't want to bore anyone but I keep saying the same things all the time.
I don't see in these times we are going through at the moment how anyone can say you have to pay the rest of your money for a holiday you may not have. They should be reported for doing that family firm or not. Its a bit off if you ask me. Its not your fault all this upheaval has happened after all. There must be lots of people in this situation.
I am pleased James starts his job tomorrow Jane and good luck for his first day. Nice to be able to pick up a puzzle at you neighbours house. It will make a change from your cross stitch and give your fingers a rest.

AFTERNOON PLAYMATES. (dear old Arthur Askey)
I tried all over the web last night to try to find a takeaway open. Like looking for a needle in a haystack. So we decided to go for a drive around Northampton to see if anywhere was open. Only found one little Chinese. on a corner. I got out and went to see the MENU, and ask how long the wait was going be. ONE AND A HALF HOURS for a TAKEAWAY and THREE HOURS FOR A DELIVERY. No way, so we were coming home and I would have cooked something for us. THEN we came upon Tesco, I knew I had seen Chinese and Indian food in one of the isles, some time ago. So Ros went in and low and behold, she came out with a variety of Chinese. We got it home, and I followed the instructions for heating etc. When I plated it up, both Ros and I took a couple of mouthfuls, and pushed our plates away.It was discussing to say the least. It went straight in the food caddy. I then did Baked Bearns on toast with Egg and bacon. So that was a total disaster, with our TAKEAWAY.
Ros has a line of washing out, and is busy weeding the flower beds. I have prepared everything for dinner. We will eat around 5.00 pm I have a nice piece of Lamb, ready for the oven.
Have spoken to my friend in Kettering. He had a call from his daughter in the USA. to say, Him and his wife had to be in at 6.00 pm Thursday, last week as she had arranged a meal to be delivered by the local pub. !!!! Hows that for long distance ordering. lol lol. He said the food was just lovely, and has ordered a delivery for todays Sunday lunch.
I trust you are all well, and staying safe. I see Will posted on FB again this morning.
Will try to be back later. xxxx

Brilliant sunshine here. I will go for my exercise walk soon. I might take the route near the swan's nest. I hear they have 9 eggs incubating. I just missed change over time last time I walked that way, so didn't see all the eggs, but certainly there were quite a few I saw, while the swan settled itself over them.
What a shame about your Chinese, Frank.
Locally we are spoilt for choice with takeaways, although we haven't used any lately. Many of the pubs and even fish and chip shops have started up local deliveries to help keep their businesses going.Prices seem fair, too. Corner shops too are delivering to elderly and vulnerable. Everyone is trying to look out for each other and make sure everyone has help if they need it.
Within a day or two of lockdown, there was a meeting of all the main groups and charities in a nearby town and a community hub was formed to coordinate volunteers and people needing their services. It was felt this was the safest way to make sure vulnerable people were not exploited by undesirables. It seems to be working well.

( eggs for the swans then? Is that usual. I don't know how many Swans usually lay I shall have to have a look in my bird book.
We keep getting the canada geese fly over the garden and even when its dark! They go on the lake down the valley in the big house grounds.
I have four lettuce seeds up Ann how are yours doing?

I will have to check the lettuce seeds Mel. I have just sewn the wildflower seeds, plus calendula and nasturtium all in one patch and another small amount which was expecially for a tub. supposed to be a butterfly selelction.
Frank how strange, we have had both chinese and Indian from Tesco and enjoyed both. I wonder if by then you had both just gone off the idea.
We have not ried take away here. However, I can't remember the last time we had a take away so that is nothing unusual.

Oh just walked through the back door and said "why did they go to Bambury Cross" I said "to see a fine lady upon a white horse with rings on her fingers and bells on her toes, she shall have music wherever she goes". Now where on earth did that come from????
Why do these things pop into our minds I wonder????? :-) :-)

Mel I often have a day like you but I think we are all allowed days like that :-D :-D I often have things lined up to do but just dont get around to it and find something else far more intersting like catching up with a programme or resding my kindle :-D

Evening all
I've had problems getting on here today, kept getting the error page so gave up in the end.
There's nothing I can do in the garden at the moment, I need help off OH for the jobs that need doing and he's not off until Tuesday, then we'll need to go shopping and OH will go to his friends with his shopping if he needs anything, so that'll probably take up most of the day. The lawn needs cutting so OH might do that, but as far as moving the larger pots that I need help with, we'll have to see what time we have left to do them. For now the bluebells in pots have been put around the bungalow and should look nice when they flower.
I had a day like your's the other day Mel, I had lots to do but just didn't feel like doing them. Mind you I'd missed a couple of my meds, so that made me feel down and fed up. I just watched a bit of TV and left the jobs for another day. Hope you feel like doing something tomorrow, unless you felt up to doing things today.
Good luck to James on starting his new job tomorrow, Jane. Did he manage to sort his bedroom out in the end?
Oh dear Frank, you didn't have much luck with your takeaway. At least you had something in to cook, so that was good.
I've been chatting with mum on the phone a few times today, she's trying to find some knitting needles for me and said I could get some wool from Aldi, she gave me some knitting patterns, so hopefully I'll be able to knit myself a jumper or cardigan soon. She's not sure if she has the right size needles though, so is going to put all her needles in a bag on her doorstep for OH to pick up later, she did the same thing last night with the patterns. That way there is no direct contact between them.
It's sad we have to do things like this, but at least it keeps everyone safe. I just hope Aldi still have the wool, that was in the shop a few weeks back. Mum said they had some last week that they hadn't sold, so we may strike lucky. I can't get there until Tuesday though, so it might have all been sold by then.

Afternoon All.
Nice and sunny here earlier but not as warm as I expected yet. After searching for new hose connectors for the jetwasher which was leaking OH found some and left me washing the patio and the path to it while he filled the big pot for the acer. We actually had a bag of ericaceous compost which was a stroke of luck. I came in to get lunch then and to rest my knees andl finished after lunch. It looks brilliant as it hadn't been done for 3 years!!
Hi Elizabeth, I hope you are well too and are coping ok..
AnnG that sounds ridiculous of your holiday people! Our small holiday firm in Cornwall (run by 2 brothers) closed their site about 2 weeks ago and have said when things are back to normal they will offer us other dates. Our holiday was in May too and we had paid in full. The government have been absolutely clear and said to only go out for food, medication or an hour's exercise, not to travel 100s of miles to go on holiday. You wouldn't be able to go out only for those purposes and most places will be closed, You'd have to try and buy food as you couldn't eat out. I bet their advertising doesn't say you would have those restrictions, so they can't fulfil what they are advertising about what is available to do in the area. They are being totally unreasonable and I would ask them why other places in Cornwall have closed and does Boris know they are encouraging people to disobey advice that is to help the NHS and to save lives. I have ordered some nasturtiums as well and am going to try them in my wall pots. Have you ever done that? I am hoping they will trail. No my lettuce haven't come up yet. There are 2 shoots, but I think they are weeds! I should have put them in the conservatory instead of the greenhouse as it is warmer there.
There seems to be a good community spirit where you are Gwyn which is nice. It will be interesting to see if there are any hatched swans on your exercise walk.
I wouldn't have risked going in Emm's house either Mel and wouldn't have stroked someone else's dog either as some say the virus can stay active on fur for a short while. I am just very cautious though. The 'cock horses' were the additional horses used to help pull loads up a hill.
Jane it is a nice feeling once you are stocked up with provisions! We have run out of cupboard space and are using some cardboard boxes now. It's good that James has a job to focus on now and will have some money in his pocket again. I hope it goes well for him.
Frank it sounds like your takeaway trip was for nothing in the end. I hope the lamb is nice! :-)

I have the Loratadine ones Jane as the Piriteze make me drowsy and I find the Sainsbury's or Asda's own brands work well for me. Another friend has started with hayfever and she thinks it is Birch pollen that is causing hers just now.
Gill, that was a good idea to do some knitting once your mum puts some knitting needles out for your OH to collect and you get some wool. I have a pattern and black wool ready to start if I want to do something different. I was tempted a few nights ago but black wool, artificial light and my eyes aren't a good combination so it would have to be in daylight.
Mel I have booked me one of those lazy days for tomorrow! lol :-D I'm worn out after today and so is OH, so after we have tried the chemist again first thing, we are doing sit down jobs or lazing! :-D

After my last post I made 18 sausage rolls and 17 spicey small cakes. I have just sat down and read the posts and now its getting dark I have to go and shut the chickens in and then the rest of the evening is my own.
We will have the rolls for tea so thats easy and maybe a cake or two. We shan't starve thas for sure.
As to going into Em's I only stood inside the back double doors and they were right over the other side of the kitchen and I put hand stuff on when I got back in the car and when I got home I washed my hands anyway.

You’re not alone Mel. I've also had a day of being too lethargic to do anything. I do have an excuse. I dozed off about midnight with a niggling pain over my left eye and woke an hour later with a real migraine. I took one of my pills and tossed and turned for the rest of the night. The worst of the pain has gone now except over my eye but I feel drained and all I have done is take food from the freezer and shove it in the oven.
It’s been a lovely day, sunny and warm out of the wind. It would have been a good gardening day if I had felt up to it.
Good to see you both popping in, Elizabeth and Gwyn. I hope you and your families are keeping safe and well.
Will have to stop. Looking at the screen is making me feel woozy. Be back tomorrow.

Evening all, It was last night. GOOD MORNING.
I have been at it again. I went to throw some rubbish in the Blue Bin. and as I turned the corner to come in, I TRIPPED. I threw out my right hand to grab the door jam, but being my STROKE SIDE, I could't get a grip, and went down like a Ton of Bricks, I fell on the small of my back on the door frame, and just lain there. I called for Ros who was done the bottom of the back garden, without any response. After about half an hour two little girls came by on their bikes. I called to them to get help for me. The elder one called out "MUM, DAD. There is an old man who has fallen over, and can't get up. This very kind man can to my assistance and got me up, and back in doors.More bruises this morning and a very stiff neck. So it's the armchair for me today.
Stay safe, I will look in again later. xxxx

good morning all, bright and some sun 12 degrees out there now. I have a load of washing nearly finished, other than that no plans for today.
OH is off down the garden planting more lettuce and some baby carrot seeds we found. The first lettuce were a very old packet so obviously no good now we have a new packet to plant.
Vera, I hope you feel better today. I think I am 'suffering' all sorts of minor acjes and pains but I also think that probably I get them normally but because we are usually off out and about I don't notice them.
Frank you will have to teach yourself not to turn corners or turn round quicky, I think you are losing your balance because you are not moving slowly. I hope you feel better soon. That was a nice man coming to your rescue.

Morning Frank, morning all
It started off sunny here but now there's lots of black clouds looming, so I'm expecting some rain soon.
Hope it doesn't rain when your OH start planting the seeds AnnG and it's not to windy either.
Sorry to hear you had another fall Frank, that was nice of the girls dad to help you up, I wonder how many other people would of helped with the Coronavirus around. Hope you're not to sore today. Rest up and take it easy.
I hope you're feeling better today to Vera, migraines aren't nice at all.
How is James getting on working from home today Jane. I hope all goes well for his first day in a new job.
I see you did some baking in the end Mel. Your spicy cakes sound nice, did you use cinnamon and nutmeg or was it something else?
Boris Johnson has been taken to hospital and now his partner has mild symptoms. Boris is not an emergency admission and will, somehow, still be running the country. Not sure how though.
I'm just waiting for my mum to ring me from Aldi, she said there was some wool there last week so she's going to see if there's any left and ring me to let me know what's there. She's going to buy it on my behalf and bring it to me later if there's any left.
She's just rang and managed to get me some blue chunky wool, I'll need to do a tension square as I needed DK, but I do have a book of other patterns which I think takes chunky wool, but I don't have the second pair of needles I need. OH said one of the women he works with has said she can lend me some needles, so hopefully she'll have the size I need.
Who'd of thought trying to get hold of everything to knit a jumper, would be so hard.

Morning All,
O Frank you silly boy what have we told you about being carefull and safe at this time. You must learn to move slower or use your stick at ALL times. I hope your not too bruised but I bet you will be. Take more care especially at this time as you don't want to end up in hospital.
We have a bright sunny morning with BIG white clouds in the sky. The weather station is saying its 16 degrees out there but I hav'nt been out yet.
I'm not sure about this Belgravia. It all seems a bit silly to me. What do you lot think?
Gill what size needles do you needs? What colour blue is the wool mum got you?
Jane that looks about right for a shop to me. I'll take a pic of mine when it comes. Was anything missing not available?
