Afternoon All
Here I am after a few wibbly wobbly days. Actually I have been much better than previously so I put it down to the change of one of the drugs I was having. I have not had a look at all the posts ,as there have been so many. But just seen this page.
I loved the video of the moving bin bags Vera :-D :-D and the poem Ann too :-D :-D
Mel yout journal cover and pendants are just lovely.Especially the cover. You clever old stick :-D Glad to see the oil has arrived and you finally have heat :-D
Frank I am not a Duck lover.I find it has too strong a taste. I can see your Duck going n the bin now unless it can be kept in the fridge over night and then you can have another think as to how to do it tomorrow. Gill have you heard from Sandra lately? I was wondering if she has managed to join any groups and is getting out to meet some new people.
Ann what a right do you are having getting your meds!!!!!!!! I think the chemist must be overwhelmed really at this time. Hopefully you get all you need on Monday.
AnnG you have had a right old time with your back :-(.Have the spasms stopped now?
Oh Mel poor Aunty Joy having that fall . Good job she didnt to too much harm to herself and now doing the painting. She must be made of hard stuff :-D
I have ordered some hairdressing scissors today :-D Lord knows if Chris will actually let me anywhere near his hair but it does need a bit of a trim. James has point blank said I am not going anywhere near him LOL . I watched how to cut your fringe this morning on This Morningand Ruth Lanford was actually having a go at doing her fringe.
I have just made a Chicken Pie for tonight and I will have mine first as I find if it is too late I am fading and beigining to not feel too good.I can keep the reat hot and Chris and James can have theirs when they want. That was lucky Vera to get a slot for Monday.Shame every one has to stay up so late though to try and get one.We have 3 lined up now and the first delivery is on Sunday morning.I wont tell you how much I have spent on that delivery. Its quite shocking :-0
Thomas has changed his routine again the last few nights and has been out all night.I expect it will be the same again tonight. At least I dont have ot get up to let him out at stupid O clock.
Fitz's OH was a tiny bit better yesterday and had managed to get out of bed for a while but I think she has a way to go yet. Fitz seems to be fine thank goodness.
Mandy, your gsrden must be sheltered to have been able to sit out in the sunshine the other day,and Max getting too hot too and having to lay in the shade.
I am going to get this pie in the oven now. My tummy is rumbling .

Good to see you on here Jane. As to the hair cutting have a look at the Remington hair cutter. Oh has just bought one and its great you can't really go wrong with it and you can do all different lengths with the combs provided. You use it on the edge for round their ears and flat for the bottom of the neck. We did shorter on the sides and longer on the top. Its rechargable and fits nicely in your hand.
Google a tutorial and see how it works. It was'nt that expensive either.

It’s been a dull day here but it hasn’t been windy or too cold and it’s stayed dry so it was perfect for OH to do the Wet & Forget. If it’s OK tomorrow he’s going to split up some hostas for me as they are now far too big. Now’s the time to do it as they are just starting to show shoots.
I’ve sorted out and cleaned six drawers in the kitchen, 4 deep ones and two shallow ones. How did I manage to collect such a load of old toot? Why was I hanging on to two old rusty loaf tins that had belonged to Great Aunt Maud? She died in 1965 and I don’t suppose I have ever used her tins which have made at least 5 house moves with us. Well, I won’t be using them now as they have been binned. And why have I got 16 corn cob holders when we very rarely have corn on the cob? And what’s with the tin full of birthday cake candles? There must have been 60 or 70 candles and holders in that tin.
I didn’t make my Tesco deliveries very clear. I had already booked the one for Monday. That was booked 3 or 4 weeks ago as part of the regular deliveries I have every 4-6 weeks. But now we can only buy a certain amount of each item I need more frequent deliveries so I wanted to get another one booked. I also normally go out for meat and fresh veg because I like to pick and choose what I want but now nearly everything is going to have to be delivered. I’m aiming for about every two weeks so I can see I’ll be doing the midnight stint regularly.
My daughter is able to get away from school rather earlier on Fridays so she left at 3.30 and drove straight to us to collect the special dog food that I had managed to get for her. It would normally take at least an hour but there was so little traffic it only took her 45 minutes. It was very strange talking to her through the window and waving her goodbye without a hug. I know that’s how it has to be but it just felt so wrong. It’s her son’s birthday tomorrow. He rents a place with his girlfriend so won’t be seeing family on his birthday as usual. My daughter is therefore arranging a “Google Meet Chat” for him and we are included. I have no idea what this is or how it works but apparently I should use the iPad and we can all see each other. I am terrified I am going to black everyone’s screens out but all my daughter says is “It’s easy Mum”.
It’s good you’ve got your oil at last Mel. I would love to meet your Auntie Joy. She sounds a character. But she must be careful as she doesn’t want to end up with any injuries that might put her in hospital.
You must take care as well Frank. I hope your aches and pains ease up a bit soon. Take it easy and stick to reading. It would be a shame to waste those duck breasts. Could you perhaps cook them in some sort of casserole with a gravy or sauce to help keep them moist? Some of the tinned or bottled sauces aren’t bad if you have any in your cupboard. Maybe something based on tomatoes?
Ann, you are having a right do with your pharmacy. I hope mine isn’t as bad when I have to collect my medication next week. Like you, we are out and about quite a lot but we seem to be constantly busy at the moment and haven’t really had time to miss going out but I suppose we are only in the second week so far. In a couple of months’ time it might be a different matter.
AnnG, what computer are you using when you try to change your avatar? I find I have to use our main desktop if I want to change mine. It doesn’t work if I try to do it on the iPad. I don’t know why that is but I’ve tried several times on the iPad and it just won’t change. I hope your back is a bit easier today but make sure you take care when you do anything. You don’t want an awkward movement to set you back again.
Good to see you posting Jane. I’m not surprised you haven’t read all the posts. I think we’re all tending to put up longer posts now we have more free time. So you are venturing into the world of hairdressing. I wouldn’t dare. I cut my daughter’s fringe once when she was 5 or 6 and she ended up with a few tufts as I kept cutting it crookedly and trying to straighten it up. I was only allowed near it once. Never again. OH kept her fringe tidy after that. Fitz’s OH must have had quite a serious bout of the virus if she is still so poorly but it’s good she has managed to get out of bed for a little while. Hopefully that’s the start of a good recovery for her. Let’s hope Fitz continues to keep clear of it and stays well. Enjoy your chicken pie tonight.
No Gill yet today but perhaps she is busy. I hope she doesn’t have another headache.
I’d better go and do something about our meal now. Just egg, bacon and chips tonight; it’s not the healthiest meal but I had fruit at breakfast and a bit of salad at lunchtime so I don't feel too guilty.

Good morning
It’s a bright day but only 4 degrees at the moment, though it is supposed to get warmer by this afternoon. I didn’t have a brilliant night. First it took me ages to warm up before I fell asleep, then I had a “jumpy” leg. I get that a lot and the only way to get rid of it is to walk about a bit so at 2 am I was wandering round the house. Eventually I went back to bed only to wake at 6 am with cramp in my right leg. OH slept through all this
I’ve had a CoT but I am going to get another now. Will probably bbl.

Morning Vera ,morning all,
Lovely bright sunny morning but very chilly out when I now went down to the wheelie bin.
Oh Vera I get that feeling in my legs too it seems to come on just as I'm dozing off its not very nice ,but like you I find if I get to my feet and walk about it does help but then your wide awake and it takes a while to get back off to sleep.
We're out in the garden this morning we want to have a good clear up where we store all the wood ,there's lots of leaves blown in from last year when the leaves came off the trees so we want to have all the pallets out where the wood sits on and sweep up,I'm sure we'll have a little help from Max too.
Hope everyone's staying in and keeping safe ,tomorrow we'll all be able to get out in the lovely warm sunshine we've been promised .

Good morning all. 4 degrees here too Vera. had quite a good sleep last night and back seems easier again this morning. Why, when you have extra short hair does it look like a yard brush when you wake up in the morning? I will have to go and wet it and stick it down now. BBL. :-)

Afternoon all
Dull here today and not very warm.
I was busy yesterday, so I didn't get the chance to come on here.
I noticed you have your oil Mel, so you're nice and warm now. Your poor Auntie Joy, I hope she's okay after her fall.
Willard Wigan is the man who does tiny scenes in the eye of needles Ann. I've also seen him on TV and his work is amazing.
Pleased to see you on here Jane, it sounds like the change of drugs have done the trick, if you're not as bad as you have been.
Hope you're not to achy today Frank. It sounds like Ros is her usual busy self.
I see you've had a sort out of your kitchen cupboards Vera, I did mine the other week and was exactly the same as you with all the candles and candle holders. Yes, it's surprising the things we keep hold of, for sentimental reasons and never use. I see you suffer from a jumpy leg at night to, my OH is the same. He, unlike you, doesn't seem to notice it, but it's kept me awake these past few nights. I hope it doesn't keep you awake again and everything settled down for you.
That's good your back is a bit easier today AnnG, hopefully it won't be to long before it's completely better.
How are you getting on with your clear up in the garden Mandy, is Max helping?
I'm going to take a look at my family tree today, see if I can knock down a few brick walls. I have someone helping me, so hopefully between us, we can sort out a part of my family I've had on hold for a very long time.

Good afternoon to all my dear FRIENDS.
Both Ros and I are keeping well, and I am pleased to see that all you are too.
Another terrible night again. Ros said I was shouting in my sleep, tossing and turning, and pulled all the bedclothes off of her. She ended up with a bit of the sheet to cover her. I woke with terrible cramp down my right leg. I managed to get to the bathroom and get my feet on a cold surface. So all I have done so far today is, have some cereal for breakfast, a coffee mid morning, and read my book.
Ros has showered and washed her hair, and is sitting on the sofa watching Midsummer Murder.
I am getting peckish, but don't know what I fancy. So might just settle for another coffee, and wait until this evening for an early Takeaway.
I am pleased that you are all well, well as well as you can be. STAY SAFE. xxxx

Afternoon all,
O what a day I have had so far. Firstly oh did'nt wake me up until 11am and he was on the phone and told whoever it was I was feeding the chickens and would ring back. It was my Aunty Yuonne (Mums brothers wife) who did'nt even bother to tell me that mums brother had died 15 months ago. I have sent her a Christmas card every year and never had one back from her forover 29 years. She rang because she could'nt get any answer from Joy. She fed up with not being able to go to Bingo!!!!!!!!! She's always gone as far as I can remember so its hitting her hard. She is another who dos'nt like to stay in. One of her daughters lives in Cyprus and she goes out there for holidays usually a couple of times a year so thats really pi**ed her off.
I told her about Joy painting the outside of the house round the back door and that she had a fall going for a walk in Chumleigh park so she was pleased Joy was okas she could'nt get an answer on the phone.
Then I had all the chickens to feed and water and then I went down the shop for the shopping I had ordered in the week and change my order of three packs of rolls to a Saturday instead of a Monday.
Then I we nt and dropped Em's eggs in and I went in their house and had a good natter standing one side of the kitchen with them on the other. Had a nice stroke of Fred their dog and came home and did lunch.
Did'nt get a chance to get on the pc this morning and oh has just gone uot mowing again with the collecter mark 2 on the back of the mower. It seems my surgestion of some of his pond liner woul dmake a bigger and better one than the thing he made mark 1 out of. Now its a bit too windy for him to do it and he get covered in grass cuttings but it saves all the trips to the dump where he puts all the cuttings. You can imagine how much we have come off all the grass we have around us here. When I got back from the shop and drove down the drive he was on the right hand side mowing up the cut grass cuttings and it shoots out of the back of the mower about 3 or 4 foot high. It was really funny to watch. He won't let me take a photo. As he was in front of me I should have taken a video on my phone but I am not sure how to send those.
Well I think I have bored you all enough by now so will go and do a bit of gardening before the suns goes down. Its been lovely and sunny all day but the winds quite strong.

You'll sleep tonight Mel, with all the comings and goings you've done, not to mention all the jobs and now gardening. I feel tired just reading about it. Sorry to hear your uncle passed away 15 months ago, that must of been a shock to hear.
Pleased to see you and Ros are okay Frank. Pity about your lack of sleep again last night, lets hope you have a better one tonight.
I recorded the virtual grand national before and have just watched it. It's a bit of history I can say I watched, but not a patch on the real thing. OH will probably watch it later when he's home from work.
I've been trying to sort out my family tree, talk about confusing. I can see now whey I left it alone all those years ago. Thankfully I have someone helping me who has managed to find a few things for me, which is great. Some of them had pet names so it was no wonder I couldn't get any further with them, although I think I have one person in my tree twice, once with her real name and then again with her pet name. I've messaged the person helping me, so hopefully she can let me know if I'm right so I can delete the pet name one. I have the other one married with children, so I hope it's right and I don't have to delete all those people.
Having a break from the screen for a bit as I've got another headache. Ant and Dec have just come on, I think it's the last one this week.
Hope everyone is keep well <3

Afternoon All,
You have had quite a day Mel and it would have been good to see a video of your OH with grass shooting up in the air behind him! I was surprised to hear today that the virus can survive the freezer!! Apparently it lies dormant on eg packaging on frozen food, but when the food is taken out and becomes warm it becomes active again. :-S More handwashing! :-0 That's how I do OH's hair, thicker combs for the top and thinner ones for the edges! It's so quick isn't it.
Vera, I came across the candles I used for OH's 60th (7 years ago) in a kitchen drawer the other day and asked myself why was I keeping them! I'm sure I have a rabbit mould somewhere too and no doubt other defunct things I should get rid of like the butter curler for example! lol I could do with making some space for these extra provisions we all need just now.
Thank you for recalling the man's name for me Gill, I couldn't think who he was. I'm glad you are keeping busy and now you will be able to spend more time on your garden with the weather improving.
That's good you were a bit better this time Jane. Yes OH's eyes widened when he saw our on-line delivery bill!! :-0 I'm glad that Fitz's wife seems to be a bit better and it's good that Fitz is well.
AnnG I can relate to your description of yard brush hair! Mine gets sorted in the shower usually, but if I don't shower in the morning, as I usually do, I have to wet it down like you. That's good your back is a bit easier now.
Did you get the leaves up Mandy? I sometimes wish I had my old bucket type hoover for sucking up leaves. We get them accumulate around the arbour on the chippings.
Sorry you had another bad night Frank, Ros must be having them as well if you are. Let's hope tonight will be better for you.
We got up really late and had poached eggs on toast then went to do more outside. We fixed a large slate stepping stone at the back of the waterfall to help reach to weed. I finished pruning the mexican orange and then planted half a dozen plants I never got round to last year. OH has put the bean wigwam up and also drilled holes in the tall plastic pot I have for the Acer I need to dig up. It took several curses and huffs for him to do it as the plastic base is very thick. He then put a small slab in the bottom, not over the holes, and filled a third of it with polystyrene waste so it's not too heavy. We are moving the acer (small) tomorrow when we see what suitable composts we have. It is called Red Filligree Lace. The dog next door drove us mad with barking and even set the one the other side off a few times, but at least she is quieter and doesn't keep it up.
Another day gone, they seem to be flying by just as fast as ever! Off to watch some telly now.

goodness first on here and look at the time.
good morning all, hope you all had a good sleep. It is bright here with patchy sun and 12 degrees but there is a cold wind so it feels like a lower temperature which is a shame. Hopefully I will be out in the garden later planting wild flower seeds. OH is out there already, he has gladioli to plant before I can do the wild flowers which will be in front of the gladioli.
Otherwise not a lot happening here. chicken thighs for our meal tonight and roasties and veg.
Son has offered to try and get us a slot with Tesco, he is a late person so last night got his MiL a slot at 12 o'clock. It will be good if he can.
Mel, you had a busy day yesterday. You were brave actually going into the house to chat, I don't think I would have risked it myself but that is just me.
Annx another busy person in the garden. Besides having to watch me back, since before I did that I have had a problem with my right arm, I am almost convinced it is tennis elbow or similar. It doesn't hurt to use it to type, to pick up things etc but if I reach up to a top cubpard, or reach back behind me for something (and I do when I forget), it is so painful, almost unbearable, and then it gradually eases off. anyway it does restrict me a bit in the garden. Luckily my back is a lot better though. Re the hair, When I wash it it is fine but we are strange compared to many people and don't feel the need to shower every day. We do wash of course, we don't smell :-D
Gill I dislike the Grand National and couldn't really see the point in a virtual one. I suppose the next thing we will see is a virtual football match. Weird. I did see it on the news and noticed they even had a horse fall. That is the reason I don't watch.

Morning All
Hi Elizabeth I hope you and yours are all safe and well too.
What a beautiful day. When I have done this post I am going to sit out for a bit. The Tesco delivery arrived just after 11 and is now all unpacked and put away. I t ook a pic of all the bags.Just a tiny shop NOT :-D. Got most things I ordered and only a couple of swaps so `i am very happy. The hair scissors have also arrived :-D :-D
We have a lot of banging going on around us. Next door is doing the new roof on the bungalow and 2 doors up are putting up a new summerhouse.I was hoping for a peaceful day but it doesnt look like it will be. James and I walked down the road to the post box earlier and dropped a puzzle off on a freinds doorstep. She left some out for me so I just chose 1 for now. I need a breal from Cross Stutch as it hurts my thumb and fingers after a while. I think it is that material which is hard a bit stiff. James has had his contract through today and begins work tomorrow at 8.30.It will be strange for him working from home but so good after being out of work for so long.
Fitz rang just now and his OH is improving daily now although still has a real hacking cough which no doubt will take a few weeks to go.
We should be packing today to go away for our few days :-(. This weather woud have been just perfect for our little get away with Janice and Larry. Cè la vie. At least we can go later in the year. Thomas should have gone to the cattery yesterday afternoon. Good job we arent going away as he did one of his disappearing acts again and was out since Friday night and only turned up at 7.30 this morning !! Little Bu***r.
Going outside now but will BBL later

:-D Insinuating I don't know when to stop Mel??? Probably right of course. Good afternoon Jane Ah, I wondered about your break and I had not seen that you had cancelled. Such a shame isn't it. we are having a problem with our due on 1 May in Cornwall. We know we won't be able to go being on a 12 week stay at home instruction which should ens the end of May. But the firm, a small family firm is insisting it will be fine to go and we should pay our balance. Of course, if they stay in denial and keep on saying it is OK they can claim we are in breach of contract. They did extend the date for paying until 3 weeks before which will be next Friday. However we are not happy with their bullying, right at the beginning we asked to exchange the date for September and they refused. Now we are not inclined to go at all This is not a large firm but a family firm. We understand they don't want to lose money but neither do we. anyway we are waiting to see what they will do if we don't pay.
It is not warm enough to sit out here, it says it is 16 degrees but the sun is not out and there is a cold wind. I am about to go out and plant wild flower seeds. good luck with James starting his job tomorrow.
