Ooooh Ann.... there is something about a fit marine, lolol!! Sounds like you have had another lovely day.......

I have had my hair cut... the jury is out... it is very very short and spiky...... almost like it was a few months ago when it was just growing back... but with some longer bits. It is just sooooo thick, though... and has a mind of it's own. Oh well, at least it grows quickly if I don't get used to it!!

It has been very blustery here, as well, Mamiddau.....blinkin 'eck... it nearly blew me over, and that takes some doing, I can tell you!

R is off up to Scarborough tomorrow to collect number 1 son..... he is coming home to roost for a while.

Oh well... lets go and cool off.... I am sweltering.... some real tropical moments going on here, lolol

Hair sounds nice Daff, although I thought it looked good when I saw you as well.
Enjoy mothering number one son!!!!

Thank you, Ann.... it looks dreadful this morning, but then, it always does first thing in the morning, lol..... R is about to leave to get B..... they'll get back sometime after 10pm tonight, so I shall be on pins until then... some retail therapy might be of assistance here, lolol

The weather is lovely at the moment, although cool, so hopefully it will stay nice long enough for me to wash my car... she has moss growing on her rear window, bless her... how cruel is that? Oh, and I have a parcel to post... got there too late yesterday.... forgot that the PO is shut Wednesday pm, doh! I really must post it today, as I am fretting now... it is a very important parcel!! ;¬))

Now... let's go and wave off the traveller!! I'll not rest until they are back safe and sound.

Good morning one and all!!!

Well, this is a surprise, aint it? lol Apparently GR renewed me without my permission, and so whilst awaiting my refund I thought I would take advantage of the ability to post! lol

I've been trying to keep up with everyones' "doings" and you all seem to have been pretty busy, sticking and pasting things, planting and holidaying!!! Keep up the good work.

Hope you arent overdoing things Daff - I've been thinking about your hedge..................................and I'd go for pyracantha or berberis (but then the thoughts of sticking nasty needles into your neighbour appeals to me greatly!) )))

Cold and grey here in Notts - hopefully the sun will appear later.

Must go now, as cat-sitting for next door whilst they are on holiday. Two little grey moggy sisters (Stripe and Misty) who will insist on bringing home the dead meeces to Aunty Jac - yuk yuk yuk!!!

Take care all

*Falls onto Jac, sobbing*

Ohhhhhh I am soooo pleased to see you... the squirrels are knicking my daffs already, and no-one else understands like you do!! Little devils!

Yes.... my OH agrees with you, lol.... I think you and he might just get along very well indeed!

We have to make a decision soon... I'll do research to see how much it would cost to offer him that little bit to buy..... one of the suggestions made, but he didn't seem keen, lol... Seems like he wants sommat for nothing!! But meanwhile, I am phoning my Hunky Gardener today to get a quote for the front, including the putting up of the hedge... well, the digging of the holes, I want the pleasure of putting the hedge up myself, lolol! I think son can do some of it, mind........ I'll need to find him jobs to do.

Hi all, lovely to see you Jac, you are sooo missed on here. I was going to suggest berberis too Daff, thought of it in bed last night, see whast you do, thinking of your problems in bed??? Could you put up a fence along part of the boundary and just put the prickles around the 'van? Holly, pyracanthus Mahonia and berberis. Berberis looks lovely with the sun shining on the spines if it is the same variety we have, it glows red.
Mammiddau, found out today that the Marines were taking part in the Lympstone to Poole race (look at a map and see how far that is Lol!!! They were very very fit!!!)

Today we have been for a walk along the coastal path to West Bexington, where we ate our rolls for lunch and back and then down to Burton beach.a total of about 5.5 miles. Mostly sunny, a little cloud this afternoon and a strong wind this morning. Very clear and the sea was sparkling!

When we walked to Burton we first had a cup of tea sitting outside the cafe there which is actual;y also an expensive fish restaurant, and then we had a large glass of white wine each and shared a tub of crayfish tails with a thousand island dip, it was very pleasant sitting in the sun. Then we walked back towards the apartment and sat on a seat on the cliff just watching the sea. This is such a lovely area we only have one day left, we will be sad to leave.

Hello Ann.... lol.... I have a list a mile long, now!! It looks pretty much like we are going down the hedging route.... and yes, with a bit of fencing thrown in for good measure, lolol..... but we still want to mark the boundary underneath the caravan.

Now... how fit is fit????? ;¬))

Sounds like you are having a truly wonderful and relaxing break away.

Hiya Mamiddau.... aw, bless him!! It must be so frustrating for the little man... he reckons he's big enough, lol!!

R is now on his way back... they will stop off for some food, and will possibly stay overnight if the weather is bad/traffic awful/he's too tired.

I have just re-joined Ancestry.... so am off to dabble in the records, lolol!! See you in a month or so.......

Right, have visions now of Daff and R crawling under said van to mark the boundary. How will you do that? Mini fence? Rocks?, small wall?

Well they were all too young for me but they were all in miniscule shorts and T shirts and pounded their way up the cliff path.

MrDaff Report 17 Sep 2009 17:52

wmsl.... yep, that is sort of what we have in mind... rocks or bricks... we have some breeze blocks left from the raised lawn edging..... As long as I don't get wedged, we should be ok, lol!!

Those fit boys sound.... erm, very fit, lolol!!

*sigh* Those were the days, lol!! Surrounded by very fit fellas in uniform, lolol ;¬))

Aw BC... she was so wonderful to put this up for me... it has been my lifeline... and R's too, when I was really poorly.

And everyone else has been so brilliant with their support... it will be a year in a month, since my diagnosis... the time has really flown by. Also... better still, my first lot of treatment put me into a good remission... the following treatment was to consolidate that. So I have now been in remission for 10 months.... and the first year is the most crucial with mine.... I am just feeling sooooooooo good!!

Love and bless you all.

H'evening all!

just doing my bit towards the 2K mark!!!

The most lovely hedge to look at is actually Beech, in my opinion, but takes an age and loses its leaves. Bamboo is a cracking screen though but a bit of a thug (but I could hide in it with my machete, awaiting patter of neighbour's tiny feet - lol)

Hope OH and boyya arrive home safe and sound Daff .

Thinking of you all (and especially those fit marines - lol)
