Weather forecast is for it to get hotter and some to have a heat wave then on Friday for the places it was hottest to have heavy showers.

Hello all.

Please can somebody tell my the latin name of your yellow thistle? I have plenty of members of the dandelion family in my garden, plus the purple thistle that the Scots love, but I wouldnt save the seeds and offer them to other people. But then so many plants from the UK grow rampantly down here and become weeds, e.g. foxgloves, gorse and quite a few others.

Oh Huia.... I do wish my foxgloves would run rampant!! I have a real problem growing them!

I once read that the definition of a weed should be.... * any flower, or plant, that is growing in a place or in a profusion that the gardener does not require* so I suppose that could include any favourite plants which decide to self seed in inappropriate places!!

Hi Daff, hope you aren't overdoing things to get everything shipshape for your visitors.

I can see just outside the patio door, a beautiful pink peony, the first one on my plant which I got a couple of years ago, last year something ate the bud so it fell off but this year it has excelled itself and is so beautiful with the early morning sun shining on it. For some reason it only has one bud unless some others are starting to grow on the other stems.

Well I,ve decided I'me going to hold an "open house" for all David Davies' , so if you have one who was/is you Grt/grandfather, grandfather, uncle, nephew,neice, sister, brother, son, daughter, send them to me! cos GR are!!LOL (spot the deliberate mistake!!).And I keep coming up as a "wanna be friend" on fb, for my son!! (Thats more than GR has done)LOL, and I dont wannabe his friend!! I'me his flippin Mam!!!Wmsl.

Taff... we have sunshine, too... I have been searching all the weather forecasts for Saturday to find one I like....... I'll order it in specially, then, lol... we are off to get a couple of cheap gazebos, just in case.. we have one!

Li, no, I promise I am not doing too much... R stops me, lol!!

I did the vegetables yesterday.... but was able to sit down while I filled the pots and tubs, lol.... and deadheading is easy... plus I had already made a spagh bol for Saturday... I just nicked some of it for dinner, lol... today we are having cold beef salad, with home-made potato salad, beetroot and stuff, lol All prepared ready, so we eat when we want.

I am preparing my shopping list now... it is frightening!

*Chuckles* Sorry but senior moments do have their funny side. We have 3 accounts with the same bank, mine, his and ours. When the new card came for his account he gaily cut up the card for our account therefore leaving him with two for his account and he had been trying to use the cancelled card (which he should have cut up) from his account!! I won't let him forget that one!!!!


Not to make a joke about paedophiles but this morning I was (while we were still in bed and half asleep) talking about facebook and the fact that somebody I have a link to (not GR) has photos of their children on there. I remarked that the only photo I had was one of me and i was sure paedophiles would not be interested in that. My dear OH remarked "but there might be Grannyphiles"

Lol Ann....... I did that last year, too!! But don't tell T that....... I won't be able to tease him, otherwise, lol!!
