No he has done the fried meal this week. The bar that we normally eat in at the time share has gone up market and pretentious. So we ate in every night except one. That one night was the first night when we did eat in the "newly refurbished Restaurant bar" which was previously a bar the locals used with quizzes, jazz bands etc. Hotel taken over by Heritage--- Fish and chips with bread and butter, £11.75. small glass of wine £4. daughter & SiL joined us friday and he cooked last night. So tonight we have an M&S chicken pie and oven chips!!! Cooking I am not!

grass sounds lovely, wait until the littlies have rampaged over it, that will flatten it!!

Daff, you are welcome to all of my weeds if you like to come down here to collect them. But then you might have trouble getting them through your customs if they are anything like ours. When I returned from England a few years ago a sniffer dog came up to my trolley and sniffed at my bag. He could smell the plastic bag in which we had had a couple of apples which we had eaten at Singapore. The smell was still on the bag. We dont want to import some of the nasty bugs from other countries.

Huia.

Morning all! sheesh I had to hunt to find this - it was on Page 4.

Hope everyone is well (and that BC's little dog isnt missing her too much).

I've not been about much this last week, as friend out of hospital and I've been doing my Florence Nightingale act - not very well I might add!!

They say the sun will be out today but it's not looking promising here just yet!

Enjoy your day girls - I'm off to deliver some potatoes newly lifted from the allotment - scrummy they are! go down well with an egg or two from my grand-chicks!

Take care all - bi for now

Morning Daff & Mr Daff:o))

Not been on for a few days, email was messing about so thought it best to stay off pc, but it was me who had clicked somefink l should'nt have....lol all is ok now:o)

Daff...would you like some Yellow Thistle seeds when they are ready, l bought some off ebay a few yrs ago and they are now well establshed in my garden, they are gorgeous. Before the yellow heads open they have a woven basket ball effect ontop of a 3ft stem, beautiful, 2 heads have just opened this morning:o)) check my blog out later and you'll see what l mean. If anyone else wants any let me know, won't be ready for a while though. l am about to cover the poppy heads with plastic bags (someone suggested this), so that the seed pod bursts into it when ready, does that sound right??

Beautiful dayhere and has been all weekend. Went to Hay on Wye yesterday, abit quieter than we expected and not all the shops were open. Took my lovely friend who has alzheimers but she got abit put off with some of the shops being too small and closed in for her. Sadly she has detiriated (sp) abit since last time we met and its harder to understand her, but we get there and we have a good laugh. Her OH is now looking even closer to the time of his early retirement!!

Hope you are well and everyone else. Have a good day.

Take care
jude:o)) xx

Hi Daff and everyone. Just collected car from the garage where it was having its MOT and so pleased because it passed.
Also did a T***o shop. we were quite confused at the check out, we got stuck behind a young woman with a baby in the trolley that had been very unhappy all the way round the shop (that was not what we were confused about), when her shopping had gone through she said she needed a second trolley, so somebody (a supervisor we think) went and got a second trolley and loaded it for her. Now, we were confused because how, if she had got everything to the check out to pay, did she acquire more than would fit in one trolley???

Afternoon all..... been busy on the telephone all day, lol... oh, and a bit of dead-heading and weeding... and watering the plants we are putting in today.... R is digging the muck and good stuff in as I type, lol.... I get the best bits, of course.... he is very good at the heavy, boring stuff!!

Jude, yes, that is fine for the poppy seeds... I also put in a bit of kitchen roll to absorb any moisture... well, I used to. I am still dead heading my single, one and only poppy... I didn't plant it, it has self seeded, but it is bright orange, and everything else is pink, white and shades of purple... but I love the contrast, lol... it has loads of new buds, and I shall just take seeds from the last couple, when it is *going over*. Oh, and yes please, I'd love of your thistle seeds... R in particular loves them.

Jac, thoughts and prayers for your friend... and take care of yourself, too!!

Fresh new pots and chucky egg, mmmmmmmm!! Lovely!!

Lol Huia.... there are some weeds I love... Herb Robert is one, lol Or Stinky Bob, as I call it....... it does smell, rather, but it is absolutely stunning, I think.

Ann, glad your car passed her MOT...... erm, I am not sure about the lady with the baby, but I have been in that position, too, when what you have bough and fitted in your trolley seems to expand and overflow once you have paid for it.... I reckon it's cos once the stuff goes into bags, it stops the littler items settling into gaps, cos the plastic bag holds it back... so using up more space... which in fact are not filled with produce, just air.

Now, could someone please translate all that for me, so I understand what on earth I am whittering aout, lolol

Gwyn in Kent, thank you for the card, it arrived this morning.

Love

Daff, that actually sounds logical, although she did seem to have a lot of large stuff (think her bill was about £160) like pampers etc. I just hoped she had a large boot in her car!!

MrDaff Report 22 Jun 2009 13:09

Lol Ann.... he is on holiday, to make sure I don't try finishing putting the half built kitchen together, or decorating throughout or whatever before Saturday, lol Only essential housework will be completed, and we will enjoy our week in the garden... his words, not mine!!

I am looking for somewhere to hide the ironing basket... which is overflowing, lol Mind you, my sister is bringing some chairs today..... she likes ironing!! Mmmmmm!!!

Oh yes you did... I bet you had lots of lovely moments with the children... especially now that O is learning to be a big boy and use the po!! lol.... They are always the best tales to relate when they are in their teens... well, threaten to, if they don't clean bedrooms/wash dishes/walk dogs etc, lolol!!

I am sooooo into bribery and corruption, lolol

Hya Daff and All hope you're well.

Weather is temperamental at the moment isn't it? and your gardens all sound like they're thriving.
We had a lovely day out in ours yesterday, family came ...[well half as son & dil live in London):o( ] ..for late breakfast and we sat under the 'broll' as sun was soo hot!..flowers in my baskets appear slow growers this year, either too much rain or too much sun! I'll just stop fussing and be patient I guess, let nature do her work! ;O)...everything else is blooming though!

Bet you're getting excited for your visitors Daff? Think I speak on behalf of all mothers ,when I say we're most happy with our loved ones around us. Don't want them to go........house can be too quiet sometimes lol
