Ann, I started that last post this morning got a phonecall which upset me (I have had about 60 since yesterday teatime and am awaiting number barred thingy to activate) and off I toddled without pressing submit in my rush to get out of the door, lol....

but we had some good shopping, and have bought littlie's main prezzie from B

Well, it's almost dinner time, now, lol... R will probably be back early today, as he has to collect his car from the garage... he had that light problem happening, plus a headlamp needed changing!

I shall pull the plug out on the phone after B has had his evening chat with littlie.... I don't intend to be kept up half the night with silly phonecalls!!

I have decorated my tree today and put out the cottages on the snow scene and T has put up the outside lights so we are very festive now. Feel really tired though and my back aches, hotel beds are not good for my back, I miss the mattress topper and doing the tree hasn't helped. still it is done now I am pleased to say.

Jac, I would definitely not offer to look after anyone else's animals!!!

Hi to everyone,
Have you all had a good day? I went to the dentist this afternoon just for a check up and pleased to say that's it for 6 mths (I hope). Don't think my littlies will be impressed though as I made an appointment for them to go in the school hols,oh dear will they forgive me lolol.

Daff It sounds as if you are very busy with all this painting and shopping hope you get some rest as well.

I haven't put my tree up yet but all the ornaments are ready to be put out and I have told the littlies they can help with the tree .

BC I don't have any pets now but when we had our dogs we always seemed to get the ones with weird behaviour but that's what makes them lovable, one of ours was a German Shepherd cross a lovely friendly rescue dog but she was scared of her own shadow, my neighbours were burgled once and she hid under the bed when she heard the noise our little terrier was at the back door growling and barking for England .

Tuesday is my telly night as I like Holby and the new Paradox series so I shall say goodnight and hope you all have a pleasant evening.
Bye for now.

Seems so funny this year not getting the decs out, l usually get so excited and love doing the tree and l so love reading about you all getting ready for Christmas, but as l told my Mum on the phone tonight we will have our Christmas when Ed comes home ( just hope Mum last that long) but l'm not going to get down, as there are plenty worse off than me.
Thanks for the reading material, take care all, xxxx

Morning Maz and it sounds like you had a great time yesterday, and Ann's lights are up and Daff has pulled the plug out (on phone!) and Havoc had her favourite TV programmes last night:-) As for Mummo and the truly awful day that Eddie and she had yesterday, well even Daff ran out of words! I do hope, Mummo, that you sort them all out today. We are all there beside you.

My weird dog has been very poorly so she saw the Vet yesterday but I think they did some manipulation and in spite of an injection and painkillers she has been whimpering all night. She is usually such a stoic., and I have had to carry her down the stairs this morning.

Anyway, back from the park, not a bad day, and about to have my caffeine boost which should waken me up a bit:-)

Hope you all have a good, stressfree day.

Maz, you had a real Christmassy day yesterday didn't you? What fun!! Thanks for sharing, anything funny happen at the party or were they all little angels?

BC Aww poor doggie, I hope her achey bits get better, was she OK on her walk? Maybe she was yelping in her sleep at the thought of the vet!

I think we were all more or less lost for words over Eddie's treatment yesterday, let's hope it is better today.

Hope the phone has stopped ringing if you have plugged it back in Daff!!

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 9 Dec 2009 13:00

Afternoon all....

I plugged the phone back in... and immediately got a call... son answered it.... and the next 5... I eventually answered, heard all the tripe and balderdash before, and needed to be strong and firm... said what I needed to say... was accused of all sorts...... lost it a little bit (well, a lot, really, which the caller found a bit shocking, lol) and haven't heard a thing since, lol... but it will start up again next Sunday if I don't have call barring put on it..... But... it was very cathartic, screaming like a banshee at this person, at long last, lolol!! I am very chilled and almost euphoric, lolol!!

Now.... this morning, I have painted and son has varnished some of the shelves... others need at least one more coat, but I am not spending out another £16 odd per tin... do not buy Dulux cupboard paint... it dries and goes gluggy quickly, doesn't cover very well... even though we have been careful to prep things properly (I tend to be a slap it on and hope for the best kind of girl!! Lol) and I am thoroughly fed up with it!! So we shall just make sure we don't put the full lights on... and then the missed bits won't show, lolol ;¬)) Or I shall cover them with tinsel and baubles, lololol!!

Havoc, I am resting lots, honestly... apart from the bit of shopping yesterday, and having a good yell... I didn't do anything energetic...... only went to two shops, and straight home...... son went and did the errands I needed to go back out for... oh, and I made ham and lentil soup... that is lunch sorted, and spagh bol is in the freezer!! So that is dinner sorted as well!!

Aw BC, poor little doggie... how old is she? I always have the impression of a cute but elderly little fluffy dog..... but also get the impression at times that she might actually be quite young. Is the Dragon all ready for Christmas now?? And have you sent the bamboo tree yet? Now that would make and interesting parcel shape, lolol

Jac... one of mine disappeared regularly for three or four weeks at a time when she was younger.. she is stone deaf now, and not so adventurous, but as she is 18, she can be forgiven... I do hope this cat comes home, soon... we used to look after all sorts of pets for families who were going away for a long time (usually couples where both partners were in the forces and sent off on detachments/courses at the same time) and I remember one cat, Ziggy... we had him and his *sister* (Clara) for 6 months, and Ziggy went walkabout the week before the owners came back to Germany... we were devastated!! We were trusted though... because we continued to be foster carers for Clara, lolol I used to love it... we had a very strange collection... and had our own cats as well......

I have only just started to write my cards, Maz... well, not strictly true, I started to write them a couple of weeks ago, then littlie came to visit, and that was it, lolol!! Sounds like you had great fun yesterday.

~~~~~~~ to Ann........ I won't put toooooo much on here, lol..... you'll be reading my last pm for over a week, lolol ;¬))
Mummo, I do hope that Eddie has been treated better today... and that he gets his brace on... my son couldn't have the brace, as he had massive internal injuries which meant he couldn't wear it... ruptured spleen, and tears to his jeujeunum (sp) plus bruising to the pancreas, and a punctured lung.... but the sooner they get Eddie up, the better he will recover... but he is going to be soooooo tired. As we have said, we are right behind you! (((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))
Right... off for a bowl of soup, and then into the garage... I'll remember what for when I get in there, I am sure ;¬))
Love
Evening Daff and all:-) I like the idea of you screaming like a banshee, Daffy, and I am sure it did you a power of good! I do hope the annoying calls stop...I find the weeks leading up to Christmas are always stressful although I think I have gone past that stage now...To answer your questions as I have a habit of skipping over things...my dog is called a Shiba Inu and is very prettty:-) I shall be bubble wrapping the bamboo tree and carrying it to Dublin. Certified you say? Yes, I agree, but my sister in law is so going to enjoy it....The Uggs are for my daughter in law:-))
Poor dog spent the day at the vets for observation and is dosed up to the eyeballs on painkillers and Valium. Let's hope she (we) get a sleep tonight...she may have a slipped disc and has gone into spasm...ouch...she is such a sorry sight...lol...I am just hoping she will be ok for when I travel....*gulps....
Apart from said doggie I have not done much with my day, I am sorry to say. I am hoping Mummo didn't have those awful problems today and that Eddie is slowly but surely, getting better.
Nice to see Jac here and hope she has found the cat! I looked after a dog for a friend and she died on day three...the dog not the friend. One of those awful quirks of fate..I shall never forget it!
Bye for now:-)
Oh BC that is worse than losing it, at least when an animal is lost there is hope it is alive. Not nice for you or the owner who had the news to come home to. still these things happen. How tall is this bamboo? Will you be allowed to carry it onto the aircraft OK?
What a beautiful day!! It is mild, almost spring like, and the sun is shining... barely a cloud in the sky... I am back off to bed, though. Son is still in bed, lol... he has a cold. I was awake half the night again... well, most of it really, as he was wandering around until 5.30... and then I didn't manage to drop off until about 6.30 (that was the last time I looked at the clock). The early morning sun comes straight into our window and woke me, so I just have to wait for it to move around to the side a bit, lol before I take myself back off... I shall be having a rest day, I think, today.
I have just googled Shiba Inu, BC..... she is beautiful!
~~~~~ to Maz and Ann.... I am off to make a cuppa and a slice of toast, then back to bo bo's for an hour, lol!

~~~~~~~~~~~~ Daff, hope you had a good sleep. Lovely and sunny here but quite cold and very damp under foot. Just met up at Norton G centre for coffee with friends, did a load of washing first so have to re-make the bed now and I ought to do some of that nast stuff involving dusters etc.
MrDaff
MrDaff Report 10 Dec 2009 14:48
*looks beggingly and beseechingly at Ann* would you like to do some nasty stuff with dusters here, too? lol... although it would take a fork lift truck to move my dust, lol ;¬))
I slept for a couple of hours, but am still not quite awake yet...... lol I might even go back, lololol!!
Hi Daff,
Just looking in to see how you are. Yes, I agree with you about the menfolk, we have to keep on at them to do something we've asked them to do days and days ago. It's nice to know that I'm not on my own, at least.
Take care and don't overdo things, as Ann's told us both, 'no one will notice the dust, because the decorations are there'. I hope your son will soon get rid of his cold and that you don't catch it from him.
Look after your self. Love, Sallie.x
Daff Lol!! Oh I am hard!!!
Did it take the threat of no dinner before he moved??? Or was a general whinge enough?
Probably go into town tomorrow, I have resisted going as I objected to paying!!! Now I will be paranoid about losing the thing again!
Hi Sallie!
