Morning all.... well, look at that sky!! It is bucketting it down..... we are in the conservatory.... littlie is just colouring in a tiger... we have done the *tiger tiger burning bright* thingy complete with actions... we'll watch Jungle Book later.

I have no car... it was collected at 8 by the local garage... and is having lots of very expensive treatment... cam belt for starters, plus a full service. So we can't go shopping!! That is for tomorrow, I think... off to Mothercare and Toys R Us..... Littlie needs her feet measured and new shoes... I am getting her some boots for Christmas, plus a smart coat... she has a couple of lovely *throw in the washing machine* ones.... but B would like her to have a nice coat as well..... I have always been wardrobe mistress, by the way......

I am off for a shower in a mo.... B is in there just now.... and then she will have hers... she wears her wellies in there, lolol... she has two pairs, one for the shower, and one for playing outside......

Ann, that was disappointing.... but as you said, if the company is good, everything else seems better, somehow.

Jean.... Littlie has just completed 3 pictures with glitter on all of them.... and she has got none over herself..... I wasn't even doing it, and I still have it all over my t-shirt, lolol

~~~~~~~ to Maz.... yes, ours were restless last night as well.... I have muddy pawprints all over the bedcovers!
Have a good day everyone, in spite of the horrible weather.
Love
Hi all, been to Cheltenham today. T decided not to play golf as it was not pleasant, not raining but wet, so then we had to plan the day to 'amuse' him lol!!!! He downloaded a 50% off voucher for La Tasca so that was lunch and very nice it was too, half the price of yesterdays and much nicer. Probably not as much but plenty for us.
And I bought a pretty top to wear to the golf Christmas do which leapt off the rail in Per Una M&S when I wasn't expecting it!!!
Daff, poor little car, all that long distance driving is not doing it any good!!
What comes after tigers? Can't wait to hear? Monkeys, lions, Bears,giraffes, chimpanzees, creepy crawlies, butterflies? Can't think of any rhymes for any of them. Must be something on Pooh bear (hope you remembered Tigger was a tiger!!!). I hope you are keeping a selection of the paintings for the scrap book.
Mammidau, 'salright, I didn't see you!!
Well done H, a proud Mum indeed.
Afternoon all:-) Just checking that all is ok here and caught the tail end of Mammidau as she was whisked away. Well done to H by the way:-) Whilst you were spending your money on...fripperies!`Ann,I was busy lugging a bamboo tree...yes a tree...on the Underground. Now the only problem I have is getting Aer Lingus to take it on board...lol...it is for my sister inlaw as she loved the one I have.
I like the idea of showering with your wellies on, Daff...I think I might try that!! My dog is driving me mad as she has now taken to sleeping in the bathroom! I just can't work her out...tsk tsk...and it is not the most comfortable room as you can imagine....she huddles beside the lavatory.!
Lots of rain here, as everywhere else. `Was worried about the family in the west of Ireland but they are all tucked in and cosy and not stir crazy yet..
Have a good evening one and all:-)
BC.... does your doggie have a lot of fur? My German shepherd used to hug the loo... especially on a hot day, or if the heating was on full blast in the winter!! And I now have an image of you struggling in your wellies with a bamboo on an airyplane! lolol
Ann... we didn't forget Tigger, we have a smashing picture blutacked to the conservatory window... B finished the theme off while I had a nap... he has also done an A4 page with glittery flowers... he cut out, Littlie glittered...... and that has gone into an old file I have... it is unused, but I have had it for a while... and it is being filled with all littlies bits and bobs for mummy for Christmas...... he raided my stash, and used the last sheet of cream paper, lolol He reckoned it was therapeutic... so I might have to put everything under lock and key, lolol
Tomorrow it will be Teddy Bears.... my car is rather poorly, and won't be well for another couple of days, so she is staying at the garage as an inpatient for a while, oh, and bang goes half my kitchen money again!!.... no shopping trip tomorrow, either :¬((( Fortunately, R has taken Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off... so we will be able to play then.... we have the teaset, and madam is making pizza with daddy..... so we shall have the drawing then the making, then the eating.... plus some puddle pounding if it isn't too windy out tomorrow.
Do you know.... I just caught a glimpse of someone who was the spit of Mamiddau... must have been my imagination!! Congratulations H on being a star.... now just make sure Mam takes plenty of tissues to the play when the time comes... oh, and mascara must be run proof, lolol.
Love
MrDaff Report 23 Nov 2009 22:13
Lol Ann... yep!! Plus... I have the crumpets out defrosting..... she loves honey, so we shall have honey on hot crumpets.... yummy! (far too sweet for me, but Littlie and daddy love it)
I have loads of little sticks around as well.... and a veritable lake at the bottom of the driveway... perfick!!
Just another thing, Ann.... my lovely rose... it has almost a dozen new buds on it!! It has been amazing!! Didn't T choose well?
I am off to bed tonight...
Night night all
Morning everyone... we are about to start our day, lol... Littlie has been helping me tidy up (we would be too ashamed of all the debris in the photos, lol) My camera has been primed, all ready, freshly charged batteries in... a second set ready, and a third set just charging up now... well, prepared... we have had breakfast, showered, and printed off some teddy bear templates... we'll walk across to the shop if the weather allows later. But we shall definitely be playing pooh sticks, thank you Ann!! Oh, and the rose has been manured, so should be ok, lolol!!
Good Morning,
I love reading this thread and hearing about Daffs adventures with her littlie, I must admit to being a bit jealous as my littlies are getting to be biggies now and the days of glitter/glue are over at the moment for them.I used to look after my gr/children when their Mom was working and remember making all kind of things usually from paper mache so it meant lots and lots of paper,glue,boxes,paints etc etc. Such fun and such a lot of mess sometimes but the clearing up could be fun as well.
Well I hope you all have a pleasant day.
Havoc
For some reason I have lost my board name ooooer
Thanks to all you peeps for keeping us entertained on this thread. x
MrDaff Report 24 Nov 2009 13:27
Thank, you, Mummo and Havoc (Gina) That was the whole idea of the threads in the first place... sort of like a coffee shop, where people could pop in and keep me up to date with normal things while I was a bit poorly.... but it is still a good place for me!!
I shall clarify that statement *normal* lolol... the first thread was put up by me, when I was diagnosed... I seem to remember a busload of GR members, with Kitty mapreading... off on an eyebrow hunt around the M25, when my eyebrows started to disappear, lol..... there were lots of escapades, lol... I suppose anyone looking in might not think they were normal, but they kept me sane... and this thread still does, especially on a *down* day, lol
We are now off to Asda... no car, we have to walk..... it has started to rain, and Littlie will not be denied. We are soooooooo going to get wet!! Teddy bears (with and without glitter) are all neatly spread around to dry... Jethro banished, as he paddled across one beautifully painted red and blue teddy... left a trail of paw prints and a devastated Littlie..... so we had to print off a Clifford and get the paints back out...
Clifford is now bright green, not bright red..... and is also drying out..... pooh sticks are all ready in the kitchen for when we get back... and daddy and granny are praying that there are lots of Peppa Pig knickers, socks and jim jams, cos she won't wear anything else at the moment!!
See you all later........
Love
AnninGlos
AnninGlos Report 24 Nov 2009 14:37
Daff, if she will only wear peppa pig (who/which incidentally I have never heard of so I am behind the time, mine is more Hannah Montana!) Why not pick on another character that is on undies and make up or find a story about them, then you will have a choice. Is she still 'pink' for everything. Mine floored me last time by saying her favourite colour is now yellow. They don't make little girls clothes in yellow so we have to stick with pink and purple!!!
Hope you didn't get too wet and the paint dried without Jethro's help and that littly won at pooh sticks!!
Nice to see other people popping onto the thread, I often wonder how many people read it!!! Mummo, the teeth are an ongoing saga. Tell me why the new ones stay in all day until I clean my teeth, then just will not stay in so have to wear the old ones? Tomorrow old frame is going to have new teeth as well so I will have a choice. Every time I go I tell the young assistant to look after her teeth!!!! (And I still hate teeth Lol)
Spent all morning at a meeting of Gloucestershire Lifestyles so have writers' cramp now. Then we had lunch with lifestyles staff which is nice. Good for us to keep in touch with them and vice versa. Then got soaked going from meeting to car and opening garage when I got home. And now have minutes to type up, but they can wait until tomorrow I think. Hoping the rain is going to ease tomorrow as we are supposed to be having 3 replacement windows!!
MrDaff
MrDaff Report 24 Nov 2009 16:11
Wmsl, Ann...... I started her on Peppa Pig... inadvertantly, but it was still my fault!! We bought her a little scooter the time before last... it has Peppa Pig on it..... and then I bought her some socks and knickers to match....... thought I was being very clever.... now there is a tussle every morning over the pants and socks at home.... fortunately, she has lots, but most were left at mummy's.... there wasn't a problem with the jim jams... until she got here... but I had bought her a new pair... and that is what she put on almost as soon as she arrived. Just the one pair. Washed, dried and put back on each night, lol
Well, we managed to get more today.... and I have gone with the *flood the market and get her bored* philosophy..... I have got her a little cushion.... and oh bliss... she is currently cuddled up fast asleep in her bedroom with it!! Plus a couple of jim jams... some to wrap for Christmas.
Daddy picked out a purplish sequinned dress for Christmas for littlie.... S and I looked at each other... we knew, just knew, it wasn't right. Anyway, on the next rack, was a red velvet number... lots of frilly petticoats, with a little fur trimmed shrug to go with it... stunning...
Littlie just sighed, and looked at me... son shrugged, giggled, and put purplish dress back on the rails, lol Littlie and I carefully put our little treasure into the trolley... then off we went for some more stuff.... new tights, loads of knickers and vests, socks... half a dozen long sleeved tops, a couple of pairs of trousers (I have 4 lovely skirts here already) a lilac coat, a sequinned handbag.... jim jams, a couple of longline cardigans.... and with what she went back with last time, she is sorted for the winter now. Just need her shoes and boots tomorrow.... assuming they have her width... they had to send away for them last time.
My other Littlie is into Hannah Montana, too.... she is still a little bit young for most of the stuff, at 4 1/2, so I have to be very careful what I get... fortunately she is also into Barbie and Princesses... so a bit more scope.
S likes pink... but she wouldn't have anything pink left to mummy and daddy... mummy likes purples and lilacs, as long as it isn't girly, daddy likes any colour but thinks pink is too too girly.... well, they are both over-ruled by S and me, lol.... we buy pinks, lots of them.... but we do also get reds, yellows, greens, blues.... any colour we fancy! And as girly as we can get away with lol
M is well into pink.... and both mummy and daddy indulge her in that, which is lovely.... I tend to get other colours for her, just as a change. She loves girly stuff, too.....she is very easy to buy for!
We didn't get too wet... and we managed a decent game of pooh sticks.... no streams, but the wind was strong enough to blow them across a good sized puddle... then we splashed.... then we had milk and a biscuit and were clearly nodding off... so up to bed for a nap.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for tomorrows' weather.
But you didn't tell us tomorrows 'project' Daff.
Well didn't you have a good shop. Bet Mummy loves her visiting!!
I must sort out what I have in the drawer for my littlest, I have lost track, then, when I come to wrap it all there will be a panic because 'biggy' wont have nearly enough. Goodness 13 year old boys are difficult to buy extras for. Luckily he had a load of old DVDs on his wish list (Sink the Bismark, War of the Worlds, All time greatest hits cd by Queen and then The boy in the striped pyjamas DVD) So we have got all those off Amazon. Can't buy him clothes (wouldn't dare Lol!!!! I like to spend the same amount on them both so I have also got him a couple of puzzles. (Didn't buy him the £1950 guitar that was also on his list - don't think Mum and Dad will be buying that either!!!
MrDaff
MrDaff Report 24 Nov 2009 16:41
Lol Ann..... Yep, mummy loves her visiting....I have always seemed to be in charge of the wardrobe.... her other grandparents visit often, once a month, but don't buy girly stuff...... they tend to buy stuff for mummy, rather than littlie, but have a little savings account for her and pop money into that regularly.... I have my big brandy bottle, lol... that gets banked once it is full.... it has been filled twice since she was born... it is her college fund, lolol Nothing like thinking ahead!!
Tomorrows project is.... going to the park (Roath Park, in Cardiff) to feed the ducks and swans, as long as the weather isn't toooooo wet and windy.... into Cardiff, to Mothercare for her shoes, and Toys r Us and Hobbycraft........ we are scrapbooking some of her stuff for mummy for Christmas, so will get a book and some more bits... don't need much, as her work and photos of her painting etc will be the focus... B is doing it, not me!! And then back for dinner. Which Littlie and daddy are making..... home made pizza. We bought the cheeses and the yeast and flour today, while we were out. They used to do it quite a bit at home. Watch this space!!
