AnninGlos Report 28 Nov 2009 09:04

Good morning all, our man has just arrived to finish off the pointing, I will be glad when it is finished now. Still we can go into town and leave him to it today.

Sue (Somerset), congratulations that is wonderful, you deserve it, your work is wonderful, you are so talented.

Jean, keep searching for the lead, it will turn up when you least expect it.

Morning Daff and all and congratulations to Sue. Not a bad day here, raining during the night, but a little chilly. I have a notion to paint my bathroom but I must be sensible and do some present shopping instead..*sighs...I find painting so very soothing:-)

Am off to park with Strange Dog. Have a great day everyone and hope you will be able to recover your energies Daff:-)

Hope all went well in Shrewsbury.

Major panic here as I have lost my bus pass, must have dropped it last Monday the last time I used it. Had to pay going in to Glos but coming home very nice kind driver just gave me a ticket. Thing is these drivers recognise us as it is the same one all the time on this route. Last saturday we chatted for ages to the female driver who still charged me. Now I have to work out how to get a replacement, such an inconvenience and I still can't work out how I dropped it, I am such a creature of habit, I take both passes and get two tickets, when we sit I give T his back and he puts his away, meanwhile I put mine away, in the same place in my purse every time. So how come I didn't do it on this occasion. Weird!

ButtercupFields Report 28 Nov 2009 15:59

Oops Ann, hope you find it soon. I was most aggrieved when I mislaid mine and had to pay nearly a fiver to go a few stop and back!

It must be in the air, cos I went to get some money from an ATM and could not find my debit card....was in a panic and rang Selfridges where I used it last (thank goodness I do online banking so could check) where a very nice man said he is keeping it warm for me. I AM getting rather forgetful...*frets....hope you find your bus pass soon, Ann..

I look forward to hearing how Puss & Specky's 'Do' went:-)

Evening all... well it was lovely... the little church was beautiful, very small but perfect... Specky looked very handsome.... and was nervous, I straightened his tie and collar, and gave him a kiss and a hug... Puss looked beautiful, absolutely brimming with happiness... her dress was stunning, and the train required the assistance of six beautifull dressed attendants.....I have made sure a have a reasonable photo of the back of her dress!! The dress and the train were adorned with pearls and glass beads, quite breathtaking....The service was lovely, very simple, but lovely... my eyes leaked, and R held my hand, lol.....

Joy and Stray were also there... as was baby Satan... I sooooo know why Stray calls him that.... it is because he is sooooooo adorable.... angelic with an impish streak... I would have taken him home with me, but settled for a kiss, lol

Peggy (Northernheart Rye) and marion Boro Lass were there...... so wonderful to see them again... and got my gentle strangles in person from Peggy, lolol

Also met Heather in Cheshire for the first time, which was lovely, too... my goodness, everything was lovely!!

The sad bit of the day was saying au revoir to littlie... she is now home with mummy...... but was distraught that we were going in one car, and she was going in the other... that brought a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat, bless her.

Right.... I am off to forage for food... I shall be back later!!

*blushes at a naked Ann and averts eyes* lolol

Wot with a naked Ann....... a naked BC.... *blushes even more* what is this thread coming too? WMSL!!!!

Lol Maz.... I am knackered to be honest, but nice knackered, so am happy just to amble through the day, busy doing nothing at all, lol... R is cooking dinner, well, he said he would, but the lamb is still in the freezer, so it looks like he'll have to go out and strut his hunter gatherer genes, lol

Son will be home later this evening, and is almost certain to be quiet, and not hungry...... now, his computer has died, and it is strange.... but I haven't had any problems with mine since... I know that R has done a scan thingy on some super duper website... and it would seem that we can only get a maximum of 1mega wotsit here... so all this flaming hype about how much power these broadband companies depend not on what is available from them, but in the wiring coming into the house... down to flaming BT again!!

Does anyone happen to know whether BT are planning a massive increase in the megathingies in the near future? I shall go and google it.... but I do know easily sidetracked I can be, lol.... so might forget what I went in for in the first place ;¬))

I have some photos to play with, too.... it looks like Picassa has had an update... it is now recognising my camera, and uploading... plus it has all these dinky little buttons to help you send your stuff off to FB and Twitter and some other very nice sounding places,...... mind, I never did get the hang of MSN, and only used Skype a couple of times....... It would seem that I had put an open invitation to every wierdo in the world to come into my parlour... son number 2 was less than amused, lol but his best friends thought it was a hoot... son is godfather to their two lovely children..... but P did warn me and told me to click off the *skype me* button, lolol

BC..... I haven't a clue what Bruce Springsteen sings.... but doesn't he write for all the very big names? I probably have it wrong, lol..... I shall google him, too *nods enthusiastically* ;¬))

~~~~~~~ to Jean.... there is plenty of time to print off the photos....... My dad has mentioned a specific two that he would like me to get sorted out for him..... I haven't found them yet, but I still have masses to scan and sort out.... I know the ones he means, as they were taken when I was in my teens.... he took to photography for a little while.... but he managed to take just one of me (I wasn't his favourite child, lol, just his eldest!!) Well... he wants me to scan two... both of the one sister, lol, as they were his favourite photos. He only has 7 other kids, mind Anyway.... he has asked me to dig them out..... I have already scanned a couple from that era... but they were of the dog we had then, Captain, lol None of us kids! Oh dear.... I have four cardboard boxes of photos still to scan, plus about a dozen albums... I have already scanned about 4000 photos...... and the slides and negatives as well, lol! Plenty to keep me occupied there then.
Mau, I do hope your hangover is now cured..... this where I believe in homeopathy.... I think that is what it is called... you know, the belief that another bit of whatever has given you your symptoms (ie, falling over, wurring slurds, an increased belief in ones ability to sing Guide me Oh thy Great Jehovah, and a thumping head a few hours later...) well.... the cure is in the poison ;¬)) Salootay (phonetically spelt cos I don't know how to put that little thingy above the *e*)
Liz, thanks for that.... I have found the Poundland in Cardiff, now, a bit awkward for me to get there... and expensive, parking costs over £5 for 2 hours there, and it is difficult for me to walk that far from the nearest car park... it is a few shops down from where I bought your little teapot stand. But I shall go in with my sister next time she goes on a shopping jolly.... she and neice like me tagging along, lol I hope you get things sorted out soon... I tend not to get too stressed about Christmas, fortunately.... but there are other things that stress me badly.... I have learnt haow to deal with it... I took some courses, and then a Diploma in Stress Management, so had to learn to practice what I preached.... ;¬))
Right.... off to find some mischief to get into, lol......
Love
Glad you had a good time at Puss & Specky's wedding renewel Daff, her dress 'sounds' really beautiful.
Phew I am exhausted having just read that marathon.
I expect the house feels very quiet today Daff, still gives you time to draw breath. (You know, that is what you should do between sentences!)
Not a nice day here, raining hard and cold. And, in my mind I am still searching for the elusive bus pass. I even dreamt about looking for it last night, then when I was awake (frequently) I was trying to visualise where I thought I had put it!
Just been round ex Hurrans for a coffee and to get some bird seed as the goldfinches are eating us out of house and home. Now have the household accounts to look at (ugh) then maybe can do some craft work later, or perhaps I should wrap some presents. This time next week we will be in Torquay, just hope it has stopped raining by then.
Good afternoon all,
Well my cough and cold are leaving me (I hope they don't return) and I am feeling much better.
I am looking after Gr/sons today for a few hours so my home will be not so quiet today.
Well I have done my cards and they are ready to post or give out and have asked OH to get the christmas things down so I can sort them out and take what I don't need to the charity shop. I used to decorate all the downstairs rooms and do a scene on the window but that was when I had the grandchildren every day, now I only see 2 of them once a week so I do the tree and put up cards and I have christmas ornaments out as well, still a lot compared to some but not as much as before lol.
When they were younger about 2-5 yrs they always wanted to help me with the window and we had so much fun and the outcome wasn't always as planned and when they went home I had to rearrange somethings but not tell them . But all but 2 now live abroad and they have christmas on the beach, sandcastles instead of snowmen lolol .
Have a nice day everyone.
Evening all.... what a horrible night!! I am off to bed early in a mo... just popped on after X Factor......
Mau, I don't watch strictly... can't stand Bruce Forsythe or that Tess Daley (or whatever) so I just can't bring myself to watch.
Ann..... some of my rellies are from that area, St Marychurch, just outside... my greatgrandfather was an ornamental stonemason, and worked on restoring something there, in Torquay, I think... not sure what, as it was my mother who told me, so it is a bit garbled. Hope the weather is kind to you.
BC..... bribery gets you everywhere, lolol!!
Hi Havoc.... thank you so much for the candle!! It is such a shame that they have to grow up, these littlies, isn't it? Mine will be back down here on 22nd Dec, I think..... for a week, and then back to mummy... but every moment is so precious when you don't see them a great deal.... My older littlie will be coming for New Year, so we also have that to look forward to....
Dressing the Christmas tree is my job these days... the children used to help when they were little but they aren't around now!
Well, I shall bid you all a very good night!
Night night
