AnninGlos Report 4 Nov 2009 09:04

Good morning Maz, does he recycle when you are away? I only ask because at a push our wheelie bin would go 3 weeks before it was overflowing.

MrDaff Report 4 Nov 2009 09:28

Morning everyone... beautiful day today, but I have decided to have a sulk, lolol

reason no 1 is that son didn't wander the house until 5 am.... he was tucked up and fast asleep by midnight... but I was restless, so was waiting for the wandering to start, so was awake anyway, lol

reason no 2 is that R snuffled, sneezed, coughed and snored the whole night through... and was going to go into work today.... but refused to get out of bed....... I have been up since 6:15... so ended up getting right stroppy with him, throwing the phone at him, and saying something to the effect of phone in sick, or I'll throttle you!!

He is now fast asleep....... I have left him a hot drink, Beechams etc..... which he has taken... all pathetic like.... and he is snoring for Britain.... I am soooooo jealous, cos even if I feel poorly, I have to get up... I can't lie in bed for too long cos my back hurts so badly. And now I am ready to go back to bed, but would be frustrated cos he is there snoring!

Not very patient, am I? Stupid thing is, if it is what I had last week, he has it much worse than I did... I didn't even cough, but his is hacking... my nose was a bit runny but not like his is... and I am being serious, not facetious, lolol He really does look and sound poorly.

Then the nasty bit of me kicks in and says... well, if he didn't smoke so much, his cough would be less severe... he has managed to struggle up for a ciggie!!

And if he had gone for his flu jab like he was supposed to (as my carer if I relapse it was advised) it might have been less severe, like mine was..... Grrr!!

Don't know whether to nurse him or thump him!!

Double Grrrrrr!!

I have just phoned my sister and put off going out... I feel too tired! So I might just curl up on the sofa and watch some gardening programmes on the telly, lolol

Love

Tsk tsk Daffy, I would box everyones ears if I were you! lol The one thing designed to make me very cranky indeed, is a disturbed sleep or an empty stomach! The rest of life I can more or less cope with. I feel very virtuous as have just gone to have my flu jab, read a fascinating article about Turkmenistan in The Independent, the sun is shining, the sky is blue, have also just eaten a blueberry muffin......hmmmm...what shall I do next I wonder?

Daff, why don't you get comfortable in the conservatory and wrap a cashmere blanket round you and have a little nap?

Mwahhh...BCXXX

AnninGlos Report 4 Nov 2009 12:49

Oh dear Daff, nothing worse than a poorly male in the house. Especially as you say he really does sound rough. But I agree sympathy is watered down if they contribute to how bad they are by smoking - of course his cough will be worse silly man. Can you put a throw on the settee and have a sleep, or what about littly's bed can you tuck up in there? But there, I don't want to interrupt your sulk, you go ahead and sulk if you want to. at least he has phoned in sick.

When we have colds we always sleep in separate rooms.

(((hugs))

BC Well done for having your flu jab. Don't know why you are feeling virtuous if you have just eaten a blueberry muffin!!

We have just been to T**** shopping now that means I can REALLY feel virtuous.

This afternoon is the dentist. Why do I keep thinking about Pam Ayres?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 4 Nov 2009 14:50

Don't you have to recycle tins, bottles, newspapers, cardboard, plastic bottles etc?

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 4 Nov 2009 15:03

~~~~~ waves to Maz..... lol
Ann... I am off sulking now... I am cross, but not with R or B.... I have had something in the post that I felt guilty about.... a book of raffle tickets, for children's leukaemia... well, I have already done the Macmillan, and Leukaemia Research (for all ages, much of the funding actually goes to benefit children's leukaemia, anyway) Help for Heroes, Breast Cancer Muscular Dystrophy, the Dog's trust, NCH and another well known kiddie's one that I can't remember right now.
But this sent the tickets, and loads of bumf..... so I phoned them to be asked to be taken from their mailing list, as I would have to stop another charity...... and as I support Leukaemia for all ages, anyway.
Lovely young man... I assumed I had been sent stuff because I had sponsored a friend a few weeks ago who did a run for Leukaemia Wales... we were diagnosed the same time. Anyway, he said not... that they wouldn't do that because someone sponsoring a Leukaemia charity event is almost certainly affected by it, and is therefore already doing their bit... he was very apologetic.
But it turns out that my details were passed on to them by a catalogue company... I have phoned the parent company and the person who deals with that, spoken to her directly, and told her I am to be taken off their list... she was very nice, and I was very pleasant, but it still rankles....
Now I have to phone the specific catalogue, and stop them sending me their catalogues, as I no longer wish to do business with a company that is so ready to sell on my details! And their boots are the most comfy... *sigh*
R has phoned work.... their instructions were to keep away from me, not to infect me, and to stay away until he is symptom free, lolol
He then went onto NHS direct, and phoned the swineflu hotline..... wmsl!! He has been told that it is almost certainly a cold (he doesn't have a high temperature, nor a dreadful headache, nor dreadful tummy problems) but to keep an eye on it, and to keep away from me until he is symptom free....
Well, that's a relief then.... he coughed and spluttered all over me last night, lolol He's forgiven, though.... cos I had it first!
Ann, it is littlie's room he will be going into tonight, I can tell you! And thank you for the hug...... I needed it! Good luck at the dentist.... this should be it for another 30 odd years, though! ;¬))
BC, the weather is gorgeous here, too... it even sunshined through the little bit of rain we had earlier. I am not a huge lover of cakes, but I quite like a blueberry muffin once in a while... favourite is a custard tart though!!
Love
AnninGlos Report 4 Nov 2009 15:13
Ooh Daff, I love custard tarts. (Is this on the wrong thread, isn't there a tart one somewhere Lol!!!?)
Back from the dentist with a mouth full of a foreign body. I am pleased with the way they look but everything is in the wrong place regarding the metal bit of the denture so my teeth feel as if I am biting wrong!!! Makes my mouth ache. She gave me an appointment for next week which I can cancel if I don't need it. And then I paid!!!!!!!
Hope you enjoy a good nights sleep in your big bed all to yourself tonight then.
How dare these people sell addresses on, that really, really makes me mad. I am afraid that I am guilty of returning unwanted raffle tickets in the envelope provided, I often get them, especially from the N Trust. I know I am a member but it doesn't mean I wish to sell their raffle tickets. And, I have nobody to sell them to so, on the occasion I have keep them i have ended up buying them all myself (and not winning anything.)
Mmmm yes, Ann.... but it is not an innocent enquiry, and I am grumpy, so I have put my oar in!! ;¬)))
I have only just started to get used to the altered *bite* on that crown I had a few weeks ago... it feels very strange, doesn't it?
I feel as if I am skewing my mouth sideways in some way and my jaw aches.
Yes after I wrote my last post I looked at the thread and saw your grump!!! No not innocent but not, I think malicious.
AnninGlos Report 5 Nov 2009 09:04
Just waking up the thread, good morning all from a grey Gloucester.
How is R Daff, hope his cold is better. At least when he contacted the Swine flu help line they said he didn't have it, I was fearing they were telling everyone that they had it whether or no.
MrDaff
MrDaff Report 5 Nov 2009 09:56
Morning all...
Ann, he is feeling a bit better... slept much better, he says... wouldn't know, I slept like a top, lol He does still have a dreadful cough, and is all snuffly, but has taken beechams and gone back to bed, he does look rough, fair play.
Well, he won't be coming with me to the clinic tomorrow... this will be the first time I will have gone on my own.... I keep telling myself *I am a big girl now, yes I am* lolol
Sister and I have re-arranged to go out today.... I am all showered, hair washed and brushed (slighty less like a toilet brush today yay!!) and ready to go out to play.
Oh.... I sorted the E-bay problem out.... it was strange, but one lot payment was accepted, and the next lot it told me I had to pay via the seller... but it seems that link was broken, which was why I wasn't getting through... I spoke to a lovely young lady at the company.... and all sorted... and to top it all, I am only paying for the one lot of postage as well!!
I have joined up with Paypal...again... did it last year, but that debit card ran out and I had a new one while I was ill.... and couldn't find my way back into Paypal... *sigh* this time, I have been careful to pick codes etc that I will understand, and remember... not clever, but obscure, ones, lolol
Hope everyone has a wonderful day, weather looks good, but a teensy bit nippy!
10 years ago today, my lovely FiL was cremated.... he would have loved the irony of that, lolol (irony isn't the word I am looking for, but it will do).
RIP dad xxxxxxxxx
AnninGlos Report 5 Nov 2009 10:16
Shouldn't joke about it really but I did have a little chuckle at the date chosen for FiL's cremation.
Pleased that you got a good nights sleep and that you are getting your day out, hope you have a lovely day.
Isn't there anyone in the family that could come with you to clinic? I am sure that you will be fine on your own but it is better if you have company for the waiting around.
We are off to Hampshire tomorrow, taking my sister out to lunch then going to daughters so looking forward to having meals cooked for me for 3 days.
This morning we are eventually going to town but T is waiting for a courier to collect a phone he sold on e bay destined for the Highlands of Scotland.
Have a good day everyone.
Morning all:-) Nice, mild day here and in the park they are getting things organised for the Winter Wonderland events..last week it was the London to Brighton Run. I like to think that the park is in use and not just for the horse riders and dog walkers:-)
Daff, how about if we all accompany you on your visit tomorrow, and if it's ok with you I would prefer to be on your left hand side on account of being a bit deaf in t'other. I shall wear my burnt orange jacket and my long green earrings and I promise only to talk trivia...wellll as usual I suppose! lol
Happy Thursday everyone. Ohhhh Ann, just noticed your lovely gleaming smile! Very nice!
