Aww Daffy how nice to see you, was worrying about you! And Mamiddau!! Both victims of this amazing technological society! Hope you both get sorted out soon. Your shopping trips sounds wonderful Daff...yes it is the small things that please us...every time I go into the cupboard I see my gold stars I painted gleaming at me and that makes me smile!

Had a much better day today, thank you all, was so upset yesterday about that baby, and yes she should have been strapped in.. It was all rather surreal..tsk...,,my Old Dragon has a Birthday next week (97) and is getting all of a do dahh about the celebrations....plus her hair and her nails and what will she wear....lolol.....

Am off to cook and pour a nice chilled glass of wine....

Hope everyone has had a good day....

Hello Ann.... It hasn't been playing up so much tonight... just the once, briefly, but yesterday and over the weekend it was dreadful.

*huge smile* so I went shopping, lolol!! I have bought a lovely old fashioned style stock pot... holds 7 litres, lol... I am going to make minestrone soup tomorrow... loads of it ;¬))

I am off to bed for an early night tonight....... restless sleep again last night, but then, we had more wind. *grins at Mau* and I always get a bit edgy if it is too windy.

Tomorrow, I am going to scour my kitchen through (it'll need it after I have finished the soup... I am a very messy cook, lol) .... I went in to order the rest of the units, but the nice man suggested I wait until 27th/28th cos it is half price plus a further 10% off, lol... he also thinks it may be here by Christmas... but that is ok, they will keep it until afterwards for me.

Off for another wander around the boards.

Mwah to you both

Love

Strange Daff. but minestrone is one of my least favourite soups, but you enjoy it and try not to get it all up the walls.

Good morning Daff, couldnt get on here all day yesterday, I am no good at sorting puter probs out , so had to wait till D came home, which turned out to be 11, she went to the Trafford Centre right from work.... the kitchen is up and running , I love it, still needs the walls painting,the worse part of all the work done is the cleaning afterwards....the workmen didnt cover anything over, so black dust in everything, still have upstairs to clean and sort out, but we are getting there,so cover up well when yours is sorted...at least I got all my cards done while we were away....we are off later to meet up with reles from Tenby, then I am having the feet done, hair done this morning, all go, go, go, really could with some of your energy Daff, I keep having to sit down.....lol.... take care ~~~~to all ~~~have nice day...

Maz, course he does, he wants to find a lady friend.

Jean, at least you know your house is clean. Didn't you ahve all the upstairs doors closed? I am surprised the dust got up there if you did. When we did our kitchen T and a friend did it (15 years ago) and made a really good job of it with very little mess.

JustJean Report 18 Nov 2009 13:22

Alas ,no Ann, we were away and D was at work, the door to the bathroom and door jamb had to come off to get washer and tumble drier in, we decided to have a matching door for the bedroom too, so they took all the doors off, D says the workmen stored some of the kitchen fitments in the bedroom, so thats how the dust got everywere....D didnt think she would need to close her doors as she has the loft conversion as her bed sit and office, so that got a dose of dust too....Our home is an old terrace 1814....
so anything that is altered always gives up dust and mess, good news is it wont be done again in our lifetime and I think D will sell up and move into a flat which will be better for her in the long term....

*pops in from soupmaking* Well, soup is bubbling on the stove.... kitchen is sorted in some bits, but dire in others.... my bedroom is a tip... so is littlie's room, and she is coming to stay for a week this weekend... and I am running out of steam, lol

Jean, I don't have the energy to do loads in one go, any more! I used to do massive turf outs fairly regularly... but they take me longer now, and I then have to do a dying swan act and lounge around for a couple of days... this cold has been a pain... I have a bit of a cough, which means if I get too dusty, or too energetic, I cough for Britain... but it is getting better!

My lovely new drill is all charged up now... so I am off to drill stuff with it... a curtain pole needs to go up...... and stuff like that *looks around to see what else I can put holes into* I shall find more, I am sure.

B is going to have to go into the loft for me today... I have sorted out loads of bedding, mugs, pans, crockery and cutlery etc for him when he eventually gets his own place..... and now I need to put it somewhere to store it... and the garage and two sheds are chocka.

I'm off to have some soup... see you all later!

Good morning all, very 'breezy' here, and looking like rain, however not as bad as some places on TV last night I feel for them but am glad we haven't got it (yet!).

Morning Daff and all:-) Rather a dull looking day but no rain so far. I had a lie in which was delicious!

Daff I do hope you will wear a mask with all that drilling and tidying...tsk....but the minestrone smelled good,although, like Ann, it is not one of my favourites! Now if you said parsnip with ginger, or parsnips with anything soup I would have knocked on your door!

How lovely that your littley is coming to stay for a week, I hope.... *stern look* ....that you delegate and give other folks all the jobs and conserve your energies.

I am, albeit, reluctantly, doing a bit of Christmas shopping today, after I go to the park as doggie is giving me black looks..lol...

Have a good day everyone.

Ditto what BC said!!!!!

Off to do battle with the dentist now!

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 19 Nov 2009 10:53

gGood luck at the dentist, Ann... you have my sympathy... I hate the dentist... have I told you that already? lol

BC and Ann... yes, I shall take it easy next week, I promise... apart from the soup, some of which is now in my freezer, some is in the coolbox on it's way to son's exes' freezer... and some is in R and B's flask for their lunches. I made 7 litres..... loads of soup, lol.... enough to keep us going for a while, plus I have lamb broth, dahl, beef stew, and ham and lentil soups in the freezers... plus spagh bol and chilli... and I have 7 litres (yep, 7 litres) of chicken curry on the stove right now!! So I shan't need to spend time cooking if I don't feel up to it next week. ;¬))

I have my flu jab at 2.05... the swine flu one, so I am expecting a sore arm at least. I am about to do a big T***o shop... but online, so no worries there. And R has taken Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off next week..... so that will be nice.

BC... my favourite is potato and leek.... but I love carrot and coriander as well..... parsnips? I am not keen on them except mashed into potatoes... don't like them roasted... so I might try them in a soup, lol Parsnip and ginger sounds interesting. I usually *tweak* my recipes... so my minestrone is quite chunky and smokey... and the pasta is added individually, as R hates the feel of it... so it is minestrone Daff-style, lol

Jean, it is wet and blustery here... son is about to leave to drive to Scarborough, so I hope it isn't too bad on the way up.

~~~~~~ to Maz....
Right... son is just about ready to go... must go and wave him off and make sure he has everything, lol
Hi, Daff just noticed the Christmas name , so changed mine too, Mrs Jolly Jingle, soups sound good, and what a great idea getting loads of ready meals done, must start mine, when I fathom out the new cooker, tried to do a pork joint only to find later on it was set to defrost !!! my old one was a simple one this one has fans , buttons double oven ....but I managed to get it all sorted we just ate a bit later....lol...now I need to get the rest of the house done so I can cook some dishes..... very cold and windy now, so soup will be a good idea for lunch....
Hope all went well at the dentist, Ann, my turn next ....ugh....
Hello Jean....... love the name!! You'll soon get used to your new cooker......
Ann.... hope all went well....
I am off to have my flu jab in a moment... it will be the first time I have walked that far since before I was diagnosed, so it will be interesting, lol.... B has taken my car to fetch Littlie for her visit..... her bedroom is all done, and it looks scrummy... new bedspread is so sweet... she'll love it! She took down all the butterfly stickers last time she was here... so I haven't put any more up!!
Curry was delicious....... loads left, wmsl!!
