I am back... I had a wonderful time... granddaughter was a little poppet, we had a brilliand meal out... she eventually fell asleep in my arms at 10.30 last night... we snuck up, just the two of us, at 9, had breakfast (she made it all on her own, and I had to have some too... yk.. sugar puffs, very sweet, lol... then clothes on quickly, and to the park around the corner for 20 minutes... back to make a cuppa for daddy and grandpa... then a bigger cooked breakfast... and back to same park..

Sons new girlfriend is lovely, we got on like a house on fire... her two children are a delight.... both eager to show me their drawings, handstands, gymnastic displays, etc etc... Got back home here about 9.15... so will probably go for an early night.... exhausting!! But wonderful!

Glad you had a good time. It is lovely to see them isn't it?
Anyway, also glad you got home safely, was it very wet and windy where you were?

Morning all and it is grey rainy and brooding looking this morning and to cap it all I woke up too early! So glad you had a lovely time, Daff and hope you caught up on your rest last night.

I am smiling as when I go on General the first thing I look for is Ann's thread, expecting it to have worn itself out but No! It is alive and kicking! Well done Ann for safe monitoring and an interesting thread.

Happy Monday all.

Thanks BC, have you any idea how exhausting it is watching it all the time. As soon as I think it is going to run out of steam up it pops again. At least it makes a change from the A-Zs whatever yout hink of the subject and I am increasingly in admiration of people who are able to put their thoughts down so eloquently.

Grey here with a few patches of blue, supposed to rain later.

Morning Maz, strangely, even when you are retired the weekends fly by, I wonder why that is?

Morning folks!

Glad you had a good time Daff: youngsters surely break the ice nicely dont they? and I guess you are relieved too that your son has picked a good 'un?

Well what a morning so far!!! piddled down first thing, then sunshine, then more piddle, now sunshine! blowing a gale, so would be good drying day if the rain stayed off long enough to get the stuff on the whirleybird! Hey ho, tumble dryer here I come.

Not much to report - except...................going to see Rod Stewart AND Diana Ross on Friday - on the same bill!!!!

Well.................not THE Rod and Diana of course - I dont think the Miner's Welfare could stand the fees - lol Apparently they are the look-alikies and sing-alikies! The last show was the Abba-look-alikies and they were excellent and the show made £1600 for Macmillan Nurses.

Hope everyone has a really good day - Bi for now

Morning Daff and All
Glad you had a great weekend with family,going to the park with little ones is so much fun....and keeps you young too ;O)

Piddling down here as well Jac,very dreek!. couldn't believe my eyes when you said Rod and Diana on the same bill!! some of these look- alikey turns are very good,also really talented. Macmillan nurses is one of my charities,think they're wonderful.

Hope you didn't get too wet in the park this morning BC
Off to keep fit soon,if I didn't have the car I wouldn't bother,looking through the window it looks horrible.

Have a cosy day everyone!

Mau love the phrase very dreek not heard it before I will have to adopt that one. Actually not bad here today so far, very windy but not cold and the sun has shone quite a bit. I thought I was going to get wet as it came over very dark when I went for the papers but one thing about the wind, it blows the clouds away.

Jace, sounds like good entertainment. Some of these tribute bands/groups/singers are very good. we saw an excellent Abba one last year.

Afternoon all... well, had a terrible night's sleep, lol.... nightmares, no less!! Haven't a clue why... it'll become clear, eventually... I only ever have nightmares when there is a problem lurking in the background that I need to get sorted out, lol... it could be as simple as dusting all those flipping cobwebs, lol.

The sun is shining here... but it was blowing a gale through the night, and I am not good with the wind (no comments now, lol)

Ann, I had a quick look at the thread last night, but I kept getting thrown off the net.... my internet is playing up dreadfully, so today I shall go about changing provider.. B looked at it all over the weekend for me.. couldn't find anything wrong, but if it continues he'll pop it to his friend down the road... they have got back in touch after not seeing each other since B's accident, but this friend is very high up in the techie world... is in charge of IT stuff for the Welsh Assembly... or something similar, so all that gallivanting around years ago didn't hold him back, lol Anyway, he is going to give it an overhaul for me, if I want him to.

~~~~~~ to everyone... I have been sorting out the kitchen cupboards... all very complicated, but I think I know what I am doing, I have taken down some cupboards... and now B will help me move others into their place... tall cupboards, so that I shall at last have somewhere to put my sweeping brushes and mops etc... they are kept in the shed at the moment, which is a bit offputting when it is chucking it down outside, lol!!
I shall be back later, unless this blinking machine is still playing up.......
You are stuttering Daff Lol!!! It added twice.
I think you need to read the thread right through from beginning to end to make any sense of it.
Strange having nightmares, maybe it was travelling, you haven't done that for over a year.
AnninGlos
AnninGlos Report 16 Nov 2009 21:17
I think Daff must be having computer trouble today.
ButtercupFields
ButtercupFields Report 16 Nov 2009 23:24
Wishing every one a very good night and hope Daff's pc starts to behave. I actually got the scanner working tonight! Yeeehawww I was talked through a very complicated process by son and it seems to be working fine:-) Had a horrible day starting with seeing a baby fall from a pram whilst parents were carrying pram up stairs at Underground. She bounced down the stairs while we all stood in horror...but she was absolutely fine and I think was saved by her heavy padded coat and thick knitted hat. The parents were in shock.
Anyway the day is over and all is well. Nighty night.
Good morning Daff and All
BC what an awful sight it must have been! Glad baby seemed okay, not surprised parents were in shock as i'm sure you and others would have been too. I immediately thought the same as Ann, about baby straps?
Hope you have a much better day today (well you will now scanner is working lol )...and don't get troubled with the wind.......*cue for joke here ;O)
BC - hope baby is ok.....how terrifying!
DAff- glad to see you are ok - and had lovely cuddles with your granddaughter, and that the new girlfriend seems nice, always a relief!!! my MiL and I get on ok, we've had our moments, but on the whole we get on great, when things were really tough this year, she was so supportive, but I still hope that when I become a MiL i'll be like my mum! OH gets on so well with her, they gang up on me frequently!
Ok, this is going funny now, so I'll send big love to all, and escape before it boots me off! XXXXXXXXXXXXX
~~~~~~~~~~ waves quickly to everyone just in case I seize up or freeze... or just get dumped, lol!!

I got online briefly this morning... have no problems with hubby's pc, nor with B's, so it must be something I am doing or not doing on here... I am the only one with Kaspersky, so it might be that...... it is driving me nuts, to be honest.

I cheered myself up with a massive shopping fest, lol... just me, didn't meet anyone, so I didn't get distracted, lol...I bought all household stuff, a new bedspread for the littlies beds... so cute!! Cushions, nice and bright and cheerful... for the dining chairs... 7 of those, but we have 8 chairs, so I do hope they have them in again! Oh and a new bucket.... and some cloths... and door handles... loads of stuff!! Oh, and I murdered my little drill, so have a brand spanking new one sitting in the kitchen charging up for me.

As you can tell... it takes peculiar things to keep me happy, lolol!

Mamiddau... how's the job going? Lovely to see you, by the way.

Ann.... there are some fabulous sayings from around the country, lol... but I have to say I hadn't heard dreek before..... och whisht!! was something a friend of mine used to say all the time.

*averts eyes at Mau's glowing cheeks* wmsl!!

BC that must have been horrifying!! Thank goodness the baby was ok.. poor parents! You'll need a glass of something strong to get over the shock, yourself ;¬)) Hope your day got better today!

Well.... ((((((((((hugs)))))))) for everyone, whether you need them or not, lol

Love
