Good morning from a dull grey Gloucestershire. Despite his bad foot OH has gone to golf, although will get a buggy so he doesn't have to walk, I knew he wouldn't be able to miss it until his foot was better. Trouble is, to get the buggy he had to be there early, henc me being awake as well at an ungodly hour!!!! I'll be back later.

Pleased you enjoyed your weekend, sounded good.

No way could I shop Christmas Eve, despite the fact that many of our pressies have to be delivered before the day, I would be in a panic way before then Lol!!!!

Morning Daff, Mr Daff and Everyone
Abit cloudy here too, rained hard in the night. the garden loved it:o))

You're all so busy with crafts and christmas thoughts:o)

l always gets the 3 girls in the family (daughter etc) lots of little things, it might even include a box of oxo's, they all love it and d i l's friend was very envious so she got one last yr aswell:o))

Got back from Sx on Monday pm, my cousin is doing really well now, but thats after having a few sessions of him doing just as he wanted re food and suffering for it. Everyone kept saying little and often and soft food, but no he had to have things like crisps (the hard ones) cheese and 2 very large pickled onions for a snack then wondered why he was in pain etc. Actually l'm glad to be home, he's not easy to live with.........grr lol

Off out later so must sort myself out.

Mamiddau....do hope the job went well:o)

Daff is probably out ordering her kitchen bits.

Hi Jude, glad you got your cousin sorted out. Do you think he will revert when nobody is watching? Well if he does it is him who will suffer silly man. My daughter gets little bottles of different wines or liqueurs, don't think she would thank me for oxos!!!
Mau, yes it is fresh here, I actually thought while walking round the shop for the papers that it may be time to put T shirts away and get sweaters out!!!

MrDaff Report 7 Oct 2009 14:54

Good morning everyone... grey and miserable here, too!!

I was in bed early last night.... slept well, though!

BC, so glad you had a lovely time.... I always like getting back home though... will your little dog forgive you? I get the cold shoulder from the cats, lolol

~~~~ waves to Jude... we are glad you are back, as well.... I won't ask if you had a lovely time... sounds as though you had your work cut out for you! Pleased you are back, though!
Ann.... please don't tell him that it might take a year to sort his foot out... has he been given any exercises? The best two were very simple, and you could do them as often as you could manage, but it only took a couple of weeks for them to start working.
Before getting out of bed.. stretch your foot.. gently at first, and you'll feel it pulling on your calf as well.... as though you are trying to touch your knees with your toes,... this stretches the muscles under the foot, which are the ones playing up. Do it as many times as you can manage... but remember that it will also work your calf muscles and these might get sore at first.
The second one is to face a door or a wall... put the ball of your foot up the wall... then press gently towards the wall..... you can do this as many times as you can throughout the day.
Sorry, there is a third, lol.... whenever you are sitting down, turn the foot around and around in circles, trying to keep the toes pointing up... first one way, then the next... you can do that as many times throughout the day as you can... even when you are out having a fabulous meal, lolol
My Podiatrist told me that the one before getting out of bed was the most important, especially to start off with... but they are easy to do.
~~~~~~ waves to Mau...... Not sure that I want to brave the outside world today... I would like to paint some cupboards over the weekend, so need to sort them out, first, lolol Oh, and before that.... they have to come out of the garage, as well, lolol! Son will do that for me, and will help paint. I hate the preparation though... I'd love just to dig in and get on with it!!

Maz, I sooooo remember the St Nicholas shoes, lolol...... hubby's were filled absolutely full... and my two had a pillowcase not a stocking, lol

I started this a couple of hours ago... then my mouse started to play up... then I had a phone call from the solicitor... am awaiting another, lol! I had to send son out for new batteries for the mouse, too.... and then I did dinner (lamb casserole, will last today and tomorrow, with luck)

Now must go and have a shower before I do anything else....... I am really manky today, lol

Love

Daff xxxx

Edit..... no.... going with sister H tomorrow...... another interruption... phonecall from niece, lol!! xxxxx

AnninGlos Report 7 Oct 2009 15:34

Daff, we got the first exercise off the web, he hasn't been 'given' any because he has not been to see anyone. This is a man we are talking about, don't 'do' doctors. Didn't know the other two but he was given another tip by a fellow golfer who had it (seems common among golfers) and that is to put a bottle of water in the fridge and roll your foot over it.
However I will tell him the other two thanks.

Huia Report 7 Oct 2009 18:58

Ann, I am picturing your husband putting his foot into the fridge to roll over the bottle of water! I hope his feet dont make things smelly in the fridge.

Morning everyone.... lovely autumn day here, sunshine, but crisp and sparkly.... the dew on all those spider's webs looks so magical with the sun shining through them!!

Glad you had a good time on holiday, Liz..... I have to admit that I am always rather glad to get home... that is why we are spending the money that would have gone on holidays, on having the garden done..... suits us so much better.

Maz, that is dreadful!! Is your assessor from within your workplace, or outside... and was it the same one who messed up last time? I think you have grounds for redress here, you really have been messed around.

Huia... me too, wmsl.... and as I have met T, the image is sooooo much funnier, lololol

Ann, did he manage to hire a buggy? And how big is your box of goodies? I have a large box I have been slowly filling up, so the girls will always have stuff to do on a rainy day.

Well, must get ready... I am meeting H at her place, then we are going shopping, with lunch while we are out... she sounds tired, so we'll be taking it easy, lots of cafe stops.... it seems there is now a John Lewis in Cardiff, so maybe a visit there.... mmmm!! We'll see.

See you all later.... have a wonderful day, whatever you decide to do with it.

AnninGlos Report 8 Oct 2009 10:53

Daff, yes he did manage to hire the buggy and says his foot feels a bit better today. Not that he will be doing much walking, we are waiting for the 'window man' who I hope is coming today to replace a large window in the conservatory.
Also waiting for an estimate from another man who we hope will do the rear windows of the house, repoint the brickwork and replace the back wooden barge boards with plastic (or whatever the proper name is.) T is a bit too old now to go up ladders to paint the barge boards and they get all the weather at the back. This man is the one who did our replacement front door, a bit of a law to himself, typical slow Gloucester but a good worker, very clean.

I too, despite loving my holidays am always glad to come ho9me and get started on my 'normal' life. Especially summer time holidays as I do miss my garden.

Liz, this should cheer you up Lol!!! I have just sorted away most of my very summery T shirts and blouses and shorts and got out ready all my sweaters and thick cardis/jackets etc. Got a bag full for a charity shop too!!

Daff, the little 'crate is about one foot by one foot four inches and is not full as she has loads of stuff herself, I am just taking card stuff as her Mum doesn't make cards, although she is very crafty and artistic.

Maz, they are messing you around aren't they, what a nuisance for you. How is Gizmo?

Why is H so tired Daff? has she been working too hard? Is it her who has a new job?

Hope you found plenty to buy in town and that you had lots of rests.

MrDaff Report 8 Oct 2009 11:19

Hiya Ann..... yes, that's H.... she loves it, but it has been busy, and they do 10 hour shifts....... she is also still learning all the time, so that exhausts her mentally as well.... she'll be fine once she has started doing basic stuff automatically...... she is still needing to *think* some procedures through, lol
