GG, you were supposed to organise a storage tin before you made the cake. No wonder Marilyn didn't pick you to be coordinator.

But I only bought it because I wore a very light white pair of silk trousers for a wedding , I had to go and take them OFF halfway during the evening ,just as well everyone had a drink by then and did not or could not see any difference !!

NEVER again....but I still have them ..LOL

The Cami Knickers I am talking about were usually made of silk and were short and the knicker part was open all you had was a couple of cloth studs button holed ones as well so the wind blew up your skirt and was it cold no wonder we were all getting colds.they just cover you bottom.
When someone managed to get hold of a parachute we all went mad making them ourselves. you could get French knickers the same but they didnt have elastic in the waist they had a button holding them up . many times I have seen girls and women lose them and they stepped out of them and shoved them into their pockets..

The other I think you are talking about was the long bloomers with elasticated legs they got sore after awhile but kept you warm during a cold winter.

The other things you spoke of was made with old cloth and were soaked over night materials were hard to get during the war..

Hi Mo Rita and Marilyn
I grew up in the 60's and remember the awful things we had, as that was all that was available. Not at all reliable and very uncomfortable. Young ladies now do not know how "lucky" they are.
Likewise the nappies. Only terry towelling for my babies born 79, 81 and 85. Used disposables on holidays but so leaky you ended up having to change their clothes too.
Glad I am beyond all that and the babies come with supplies of nappies(that work), nappy sacks and baby wipes !!! Not keen on what happens once they go in the rubbish but thats another problem. Also the babies don't often get a sore bottom either.

Have been finding many BMD's on ancestry and storing them to print off later.

Had my hair cut today so feeeling a lot better overall.

Tomorrow is babycare all day and a meeting in the evening.

Catch up later

Linda :o) XxX
