Rita Report 20 Sep 2009 11:09

Hi everyone Good Morning to you all hope you all have a nice day.

Shelly if I didnt get out I think I would go mad I get so upset at times when I sit here on my own. my children are all working and have families at home as well so it would be hard for them to come and stay. My sister comes and stay for a few days even a week.
My daughter comes once or twice a month to spend the day with me. she is due to have an operation on her arm on 29th she has also got dibetus and a bad heart so I am worrying about that.

I get phones calls and emails from them all everyday. which is nice.

I use to enjoy going a broad with my sister but that has got a bit much for me now. Oh to be young again. or at least about 38.
so how are things with you Shelly and Pauline are you still plodding along on your tree. ?

I have to do a couple of items for my Nieces school on the War years and she asked about an UXB we had in the garden in 1940. it amuses me she takes it to school and her teacher reads it out to the class she had one I sent on evacuation which the teacher asked if she could keep.
I feel really old now I have taken everything for granted the war and growing up in it , it is only when you get requests like this that it dawns on you what your life had been like then and what it is now.

I probably missed you but I hope you have a lovely day and enjoy your meal.

Rita, 13 isn't unlucky for our family, it's a lucky number.

Sounds like you had a good holiday (apart from knocking yourself about), Mo's right, it is very easy to bruise when you're on Warfarin but it's probably better to let the doctor know anyway. My sister's on Warfarin and last week the whole of her stomach was black, just because she had an injection in it.

Rita, what happened with the UXB, was it in your garden? You could tell us a few of your experiences during the war years. Put it on the thread.

Linda, sounds like you had a great day yesterday, I would have enjoyed that as well.

Poor Shelly having to spend another day with the muppets. Shelly, you told us to stop you, if you ever said you were going to a BBQ with the muppets. If I'd got here a bit earlier I would have tied you to the thread.

Hi Anybody out there?
Everone has gone home now, young people and dogs. Just the debris to clear up. A few bottles to take to the bottle bank and rubbish to put ot for the dustmen tomorrow.
Oh I even managed to cut back more pyrocantha and bamboo before they all arrived and bag it up ready for recycling in the morning.

I may be missing tomorrow as I have a spa day with my daughter in law tomorrow. Looking forward to a relaxing day.

Will look back in before bed

Morning All.

A lovely day today.......sun is shining.

Back to normal after being spoil' t rotten.

Shelly the reason 13 is my lucky number is I bought a house in London, that was 13 and the next day no 12 got burgled and I was the one that left my windows opened.!!
I now live in a Barn that was registered (unit 13) before the builder named them all,and it was the best deal we have ever had not long after that the builder unfortunately went bust, and all the others barns were finished on a shoe string in order to sell them.
Mine was the the show house all equipment nicely done out with all good
Fixtures.

I had the all clear on the 13th June this year for my cancer.and funnest thing was it was a canceled appointment given to me at the last minuet !!

Lots of other 13 's have been in my favour , I'll always sit on table 13 in restaurants and seat on planes.
Well there was always something funny about me !! LOL

Linda enjoy your day relaxing....you lucky thing !

Sue thanks for the tea,........glad you had a couple of lovey days you needed that.

Off out to help hubby sweep the grass that he is mowing.

GRMarilyn Report 21 Sep 2009 13:12

Ohh,lovely GG I can smell it already...LOL

Not thought about anything for Christmas yet !!
only where should I spend it with.... which Son...

Having hols before that GG..

But I bet that cake will be delicious, you could have made it for Shimms next wedding .. LOL

Suppose we will all have to make her cake for her....Think Shelly good at decorating it, I don't mind buying the ingredients , perhaps Pauline & Sue could bake it , mind it depends on how many tiers Shimms wants, perhaps you could all do a tier each ........LOL

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 21 Sep 2009 15:14

Oh Christmas cake, I love it, don't make it dry GG, put plenty of booze in it.

Well done Sue, is everything OK with him now?

Marilyn, you should have gone with Linda today and had another day of being spoilt.

Are you working again Shelly?

I am not looking forward to my visit to the Royal Surrey Hospital tomorrow as I have to see the consultant and have to tell him I feel terrible ill when I do the inferon injections which I have been having since January they are starting to give me really bad side effects I am not going to do the one due tonight as if I do I will not beable to go to the Hospital because of the side effects.and I am worried about what he will say. ? I was not going to tell him and carry on but my son tells me I must tell him.

I have to go at 2 tomorrow so think of me please.

Thank you for that Mo I am worried about going to see Pandha but it affects my hands feet legs and limbs and I get dizzy and fall about as well as sweats at night .
I feel like a big baby but I cannot help it.

As for the war years we did put up with an awful lot but some suffered more than we did.
One thing I can say was there were a lot more people who were friendly and we had a companionship about us all. even thought I was 11 years at the time of the bomb I still recall all the facts my sister thinks I am great with my memrories. I know they are right as I spoke to Dad about it often.
He said write it down when you get a chance about your life. so that is what I have been doing so my children and Grandchildren will see what life was like in the 30's my sister gets me to read some of it whenever she comes and some of the things she can remember others she cannot but a lot of the funnier ones we sit and laugh about. and she tells her Grandchildren and I get asked a lot of questions , so I get asked at times when they are writing something for their school homework.
I was even asked to talk to the children about life in the Land Army but I didnt do that.
I think we grew up more so during the war years than children do now. I was working at the age of 14, married at the age of 20. had my first child when 22.
