Why is the man in prison Gill? It's good Sandra has told you, (hopefully everything) No point in feeling foolish. Mothers don't want to believe their children would lie to them but they lie to anyone if freedom will be threatened by telling the truth. All you can do is keep SS informed of any worries about her. If Michelle and Michael hadn't fetched Sandra with a Police escort when it seemed they wanted her to help them financially with a house deposit, none of this worry and trouble would have happened, so there should be a good dose of guilt motivating them to help now! Because of them I fear it will be a rocky road with Sandra now and more problems. Like Vera says, assisted living would seem most suitable rather than her own flat, but will she stay anywhere if there are rules and restrictions she doesn't like?

we've had -6 today Mel. Arctic :-0
Frost, snow, bright sunshine, snow...... Oh well, it is only Feb.
Annx, I wouldn't say I was 'keen' on needles lol, having bloods done every 4 to 12 weeks I'm used to them. I tell the phlebs to ignore me as I rabbit on and I never look. I usually have my flu jab at a pharmacy in town and it's policy with them to have patients sit for 10-15 mins after. I had my current flu jab at the surgery this time - no sitting let alone waiting! Cripes! The practice nurse is old school 'stuff and nonsense' :-0

I had a lovely craft bag from them for all my bits and bobs ,a mug and some chocolates. Nothing from Colin has he hasn't been out ,once we come out of lock down he'll buy me some thing ,he doesn't do the Internet so can't buy from there .

Happy birthday Mandy, have a lovely day. Sounds like some lovely presents there. Quite bright here today, I think the two young ones needed a rest this morning, although up quite early they have not moved far from the lounge so far, reading the papers on line I expect. Still they deserve a rest.

<3 <3 <3 <3 hAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY <3 <3 <3 <3 Hope you have a lovely day and enjoy your presents.
Morning all,
We must have had that bally snow in the night as my frozen pond is covered and all around my car is a white line. Melted everywhere else though. we had a nice pink sky last night so I thought today may be sunny again but I was wrong as its dull and dreary and very grey.
Must remember to get the chops out of the freezer for tonights dinner. Nice loin ones I hope did 'nt look at them really when I wiped them down.
I kept meaning to say I had a nice fat envelope the other day so I am assuming its from Anng with a lovely handmade card inside. since then I have had five more cards all sitting on the side waiting for Sunday. Di called yesterday and left me a present and card onthe step. I do so miss our natters. She said she was so cold and its only 50 degrees indoors. She suffers badly with the cold.

Goodness it is cold out there 0 degree and I just did a quick ten minutes cutting down the buddleia, always cut in February or else it gets too tall. I always used to take the tops of the branches off and Tony reduced it a bit more. I have just had to do the second cut where the branches are thicker. Managed it on one and a half of another so still one and a half to do but I got too cold so came in. daughter is doing her hours yoga shut in Tony's office and Son in law has gone off to take the order of services round to the funeral parlour.

Afternoon All,
Sunny here and a good sleep so a good start to the day.
:-) :-D <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY <3 <3 :-D :-) I hope you are enjoying today and being 'waited on hand and foot!' OH doesn't do online shopping apart from books and cards, but he paid for my laptop which has made up for some gifts he owes me from last year! We don't really fuss about having everything on the day anyway.
It's a bit of a thoughtful day for me as it it 2 years since my sister died unexpectedly. I like to remember her for a while but not to get depressed or upset as she was all about enjoying life and certainly lived in a faster lane than me!
Lunch must be ready now I think so I will BBL.

Afternoon to you all,
What on earth is SANDRA thinking off being wIth a man she hardly knows. I would certainly see about getting A COURT ORDER on her, to return home or back to
I am at the hospital in under an hour to have my left eye Lazered I will take a clean Hankie to put overt it, to keep the light an cold out of it.We are not sure if Ros will be allowed in the Dept. Will check when we get there. Plus we have to find parking, which is never easy at the Hospital.
Roast chicken tonight, with roasties and veg. Looking forward to it as we haven;t had chicken for ages.
Simon has collected Ros\s house key from the Daventry Hospital. He will drop it off next time he visits.
Bitterly cold outside, but no more snow (YET) Once we have been to the hospital, it will bw straight home, and we won't be going anywhere , Will be nice to settle down in a nice warm bungalow, and just do what we want.
Take care, and I will see you soon. xxxx
Just posted a long post and it's disappeared. BLOW IT. See you after I have been to the hospital. xxxx

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY :-D. Your presents sound lovely and I hope you are being spoilt.
It’s sunny here at the moment but so cold. It got down to -9 last night. At the moment it’s a tropical -1. Various hospitals in the region have put out calls for people to stay home unless they really have to go out because they are getting so many people in A&E with broken bones after slipping on ice and they are already stretched to the limit with Covid. I had to go to the opticians and the pharmacy this morning but I was really careful and watching every step.
You be careful too, AnnG, with your gardening. You don’t want to be pulling any muscles. We’ve always cut our buddleias in February as well. We only have 3 mini ones in half barrels now but we have to keep them under control or they grow too big. We had to get rid of one last year because it burst the barrel it was in. It was a white one and the peacock butterflies loved it. Luckily before OH dumped it I managed to get a good cutting from the base with a bit of root on it and that’s growing well now. I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow Ann as you face a sad and difficult day. Sending you a gentle (((hug)))<3
I hope the treatment for your eye goes well Frank.
Gill, I hope social services or the police or you and the family can get something sorted out quickly for Sandra for her sake and yours.
Easy dinner tonight. I made a big stew yesterday and there was plenty for 2 days so I only have to reheat it for today. I might toss in a few herby dumplings as they only take a couple of minutes to prepare. I think I’ve got a touch of lazy-itis today. I just don’t want to do anything much. I think I’ll read the paper and have a look at the crossword next.
Keep warm everyone

I was very careful in the garden Vera, I could stand on the path for both the ones I did and the bits I was cutting were well within reach. Son in law, who is a big lad is going to finish off lopping the rambler Rose at the weekend. I have just sorted all the remainder of Tony's sweaters after taking one lot to the charity lady. I think he must never have thrown out any sweaters at all, I have kept about 6 that fit me with the sleeves folded back (doesn't say much for my weight does it) and there are fifteen more to take for charity. All the sweaters are good, some not suitable for me as they are golfing type. Frank, hope all went well for you at hospital. Annx a gentle hug for you in memory of your sister ((hug)).

I hope the lasering works well Frank and that you don't have to wait long. I think they will probably put a cloth pad over your eye afterwards. I can't remember if OH had one when he had lasering done.
Well lunch was disastrous today! I couldn't find the tube of tomato paste so added a squirt from a tube of pepper puree that I thought was like salad peppers. When I tested the gravy in the chicken stew it seemed a bit warm so I realised it was chilli peppers, so I added more water and gravy stock. After 10 minutes of tucking in I had beads of sweat on my brow and my lips felt big like I imagine botox would make them. OH managed to eat his, but the 2nd portions for freezing have been chucked away!. I've chucked it out now so I can't mistake it again! On the back it said they were Scotch Bonnet peppers which are pretty hot ones I think!
I've managed to dust the lounge and dining area but that's it HW wise today.
OH had a call from the hospital to go for a DEXA scan tomorrow morning to check on his osteoporosis. I'd sooner it had been 2 weeks after his vaccination, but at least it is early in the morning.
AnnG it must have been both sad to see it go and a relief to see the Lexus taken away. You are getting more done in the garden than we are! What do you use to cut those thick Buddliea stems with? We bought a small curved saw bladed tool for small branches that works very well on the shrubs.
Thank you Vera, it was today she died, She was only aged 62, had been unwell with a leg infection that was healing and back at home from hospital. She just didn't wake up in the morning, totally unexpected so quite a shock.
Thank you AnnG. We were totally unalike and I didn't see her that often, but we shared an interest in crafts and animals and you have that shared history and memories from childhood. She used to make cards and was very good at drawing. I have kept some of her cards and a pretty eggshell Christmas decoration with metal butterflies stuck to it. We tended to swap things we had made for each other at Christmas.

I didn't/couldn't watch him drive it away but it is a relief that it has gone, the same with the clothes. I can't stop feeling guilty that I am here getting rid of his clothes doing his gardening etc and he is not here. But I know that is a noemal progression of grief and I will come through it. I will be pleased when the funeral is over and I can get closure on all the things (official things) that need changing. The bank is progressing well and they didn't need probate. We have the ISAs to do that will probably need probate but we haven't found out yet. We are halfway there with his company pension, except we have told them but they have not come back with what proof they need. So much of everything is done on line these days, even the bank.

Is it really two years since your sister died Ann? I can't believe it it only seems like yesterday you were telling us. You are bound to miss her even if you were'nt that close she was still family and I remember you telling us about the beaded bauble you made for her.
The wind has been that cold here today I have had a scarf under a fleece hat and gloves on and a coat with a fleece sleeveless a thick cardi, polo necked cotton long sleeve and a round neck long sleeve on today. The old wind is sooooooo very bitter. Still done all the outside feeding and shutting away so now its time to do dinner which is lamb chops and veg so not too taxing.
My thumb split open down the side as it nearlly always does in cold weather and its been a real pain today so I have been putting vasaline on it all day and one of oh rubber finger stall things which has seemed to help. He calls them his gnomes condoms!!!!
As to housework I hav'nt done any today. Just could'nt get into anything so have sat at the pc nearly all day.
Hope Frank got on ok with his laser treatment.
