Morning all,

Snow snow and more snow here every time I looked out in the night it was snowing ,I should think we've had a good three or four inches hard to tell as the wind is blowing it about .
Several roads impassable and it looks like we're in for lots more through the day .

Vera I hope you can make it there today safe journey <3

Morning Anng and all,

We have a lovely sunny morning here but its still very cold out.

Hope there was more snow in the night for Vera's journey today. Hope all can get there safely. Take care. Sending love and wishes. <3

Weather here seems to still be coming from the east and that cold cold breeze. The wind really got up last night and was blowing things around on the patio so I had to go out and bring the old fish food tub in as it was making a right racket.

Morning All,

Sounds like you have Snowman snow Mandy! It is snowing here now but just a light dusting like icing sugar so far. I slept really well last night and the leg is less sore so things are looking up!

I didn't realise you had had a different jab too Mel. I wonder if we will all get different second jabs to our first?

Vera, do be careful with your hurt foot in the snow and I hope your journey isn't too bad with the roads.

I see our neighbour in the corners son is at home again this week. He works at a hospital so I hope it's just leave he's taking and is not self isolating or ill.

Better get going now as I need to make phone calls, get lunch and then zoom class!

BBL.

More snow Mel? I think you meant 'no more'! Lol.

Frank Report 8 Feb 2021 10:44

Morning all, We woke to a light covering of SNOW. The sky looks full of it, so I expect we will have more later.

I am having my "FUNNY TURNS" again this morning. I have to keep going to the front door to gasp in cold air. I really don't like them, they leave me feeling quite queer.

Ros has started to get pains in her upper body on the left hand side. I just hope it's not more trouble with her HEART.

Not stopping as I am having another turn. xxxx

Frank it could be that you are worrying about Ros now keep calm and start counting again and relax.

Yes Ann I did mean NO more snow for Vera. I can't remember where she said the funeral was I know its about 50 miles from home.

Washing is on the line and blowing well in the cold wind.

SuffolkVera Report 8 Feb 2021 11:41

We will shortly be on our way and yes, Mel, we have had more snow. It has just stopped again. I think we will be OK once we get to the main road. The biggest problem might be getting out of our road which is a cul de sac leading out of another cul de sac. The paper delivery man who comes by car had to walk up this morning. The car is packed as though we are going on a month long expedition to the South Pole. Son was on his way from Yorkshire early this morning. They are coming in dil’s 4 x 4 and have enough kit with them to sleep in it if the worst came to the worst.

Might be back tonight. Stay safe and warm everyone.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 8 Feb 2021 12:28

Vera I hope you have a duvet with you just in case. I always keep a night light candle in the car as if you get stuck in snow you can light it and it keeps the car warm for 8 hours. Hope the roads are ok for you to get onto major roads which will have been gritted. Safe journey once again.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 8 Feb 2021 13:27

Hope Ros is ok Frank ,has she had a word with the doctor .

I really hope Vera can get to the funeral and back safely before it gets dark and it starts freezing which will make the roads bad .

It's still snowing here ,it hasn't stopped all morning ,it's fine stuff at times which is good because if it was big flakes we'd be snowed in by now .

Sons school is closed so he's home for the day ,thank goodness Colin had his jab yesterday .
He said he felt a bit off by the time it was bed time but he had a good night and hasn't felt any soreness in his arm today .

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 8 Feb 2021 14:39

My arms still a bit sore Mandy if I touch it.

Just watch the news with all the snow. I do hope Vera will be ok as so many places have heavy falls of snow.

Gillx

Gillx Report 8 Feb 2021 17:01

I hope you have a safe journey Vera and there's not much snow around. Sending a gentle (((hug)))

It sounds like you've all had snow, we had a few flurries but nothing to speak of, although it's very dark here at the moment, not sure if it's more snow or rain on the way. It's very cold though.

I see you're all having your jabs done. OH is still waiting for his second one which I think he's having at the beginning of March. Just inside the recommended 12 weeks in between jabs. He said I should have mine by May so a bit of a wait for me.

Sandra's moved out again although she told us she was going back to her friends and it wasn't until Michelle rang me that I found out it wasn't the friend Sandra told me she was going to. Michelle was concerned because Sandra's phone was switched off, I tried ringing her and it was still off.

We were all so worried about her and had to report her as missing. So we had the police here around 1.30am and then again at 9am this morning. Thankfully they've managed to find her and have spoken to her so they know she's okay. She was more bothered about the police being called than us all worrying about her all night.

When the police turned up last night because I've still got flu he told OH and I we had to have Covid tests and self isolate for 10 days and if we didn't we would be fined £1000. He wouldn't even talk to me inside, instead he went back to his car and rang me from there. In a way I'm pleased he's being so careful, even if he was angry at the person who took my call for not asking if we had Covid or any symptoms which he's going to complain about, but he was ordering me around saying I should get tested and stay in doors. I never go out and I wasn't happy about him talking about fines before any test has been done, especially when OH and I were really worried about Sandra and where and who she was with.

Anyway we've both took a test today OH has some in the house and we did them in front of the policeman that turned up this morning so he's going to log it. They were both negative. When the policeman was here this morning he had a full boiler suit type clothing on and gloves and a mask to protect himself until he knew we didn't have Covid. He said he had to check our place and garden to make sure we hadn't buried Sandra under the patio, but he was very nice and obviously made a joke to lighten the situation.

I asked him if he wanted to look in the loft so OH opened it for him as he said yes, then just after he'd finished checking he got a message over his radio to say a policeman had spoken to Sandra and she was okay. I burst into tears then and kept apologising to the policeman, he was so nice and said it was okay.

When he was leaving I asked him if our tests came back negative could OH still go to work tonight and he said yes. He said his wife is a doctor and when he saw the type of test we were taking he said we have to wait half an hour to make sure it didn't change from negative to positive. Thankfully it didn't so all I have is flu not Coronavirus and OH can go to work tonight. The policeman said he'd log the tests in so they know we've had them done.

OH's asleep at the moment as it's his first night shift tonight after having 2 weeks off work, he's asked me to wake him up at 5pm so I'd better go and make him a cuppa then wake him up. Sorry I haven't had a chance to catch up with all the posts, I hope everyone's okay.

We quite understand you not reading the posts Gill and don't expect replies.

I hope you told the police that Sandra is of age but special needs. So which friend did she go to not the same ones as before? Is Michelle talking to you now? as you seem as if she and Michael are still looking out for her on your behalf. Did the police say anything about her leaving the house to go to another friend? Its Sandra who should be fined for keep galivanting around different houses.

We hav'nt heard from our Vera yet. I wonder if they made it??

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 8 Feb 2021 18:22

So where is Sandra now????? Is she near you?

Annx

Annx Report 8 Feb 2021 18:48

Where did Sandra move out from Gill? Had she come back to your home? Fancy her not letting you know where she was, she must have known you would worry. I suppose you gave the policeman a scare with your possible covid symptoms when he turned up, so he was sensible to get in his car and phone you. He didn't know whether you were popping to the shops every day like some are and I expect with so many ignoring the rules they have been told to be more firm and stress the fines! It's good your tests were negative though and I hope you soon feel better from the flu. Also that 'madam' doesn't give you anymore worry! She shouldn't be going in any other houses should she.

AnnG I was watching a recent Countryfile episode last night. Your village surgery was shown with the raised veg beds at the back of it where people could go and help and see others to speak to if they are lonely. It seemed a very good idea!

Class was a disaster today! Most of us had tried to sketch the big picture of the Clematis, but she decided to just do 2-3 flowers! She told us before to have a particular type of paper, so we started off using it. Then she said we would move on to use that paper later, which was too late!! We couldn't see what she was drawing as it was so faint and my paper was drying far too fast to get the effects she wanted us to try. At the end, quite a few of us said our pictures were disastrous!! lol. I didn't really like her picture either! I'm hoping we might start doing some 'fauna' next time as it has all been 'flora' up to now.

Frank I did say the attacks would take a while to go. Just keep doing what you have been told to help calm them down and try harder not to get worked up or upset about anything. I hope Ros is ok and I hope you have heating now.

I have an appointment for my blood tests in the morning now. At first they said it would be in a week's time, but when I said my meds were due before then and they wouldn't issue them till after, they found me a cancellation for in the morning. I've brushed the snow off my car screen and it's stopped snowing now, so hopefully I won't have to clean much off tomorrow. OH would have come with me but he has a meeting in the morning. Hopefully with them seeing less people now there should be room to park and open my long doors to get out.

Mandy it was lucky Colin missed all the snow you've had since he had his jab. Our small amount has partly melted already but it's still quite cold.

I hope Vera and the family all made it ok and will get home safely.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 8 Feb 2021 19:41

Frank, hope you are feeling better and that Ros is ok.
Vera hope you got there and back ok and that all went well.

Oh Gill Sandra is really being a problem. Did the police know that she was vulnerable. I hope she now realised how she can’t just leave and not say where she was going. Had she returned home from the first ‘friend’? I don’t think we knew that. Where is she now? No wonder you are not well. A frightening experience having the flu taken for Covid, a bit over the top and he could have handled it more diplomatically but I suppose they have to take precautions. Hope you feel better soon.

Mandy do you think a card from me has shown up?

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 8 Feb 2021 19:58

Ann no card today but your not to worry about it ,you have lots going on at the moment if it turns up then thank you but as I say your not to worry about posting one .

Gill I didn't realise Sandra had returned home ,what a worry she is for you at the moment, the sooner they can find her a place the better it will be for everyone by the sound of things .

Oh dear Ann so not a good day for you with the painting ,I hope you get on ok tomorrow at the hospital .

Started snowing again and where the road had cleared a bit it's now covered again .

SuffolkVera Report 8 Feb 2021 20:24

Thank you all for your concern. We got back about 6 pm and the journey there and back wasn’t too bad though I was very glad to get home. All the family arrived safely and in good time. It was a lovely (completely non-religious) service and we know people were watching in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. I have had an email from a Canadian cousin saying the service was lovely and both she and her husband were in tears. The webcam is available to us for 28 days so I am going to watch it quietly by myself when I am feeling less emotional.

Gill, I am sorry to hear what an awful time you have been having. I am glad Sandra was found safe but she really needs someone with some authority (a police officer perhaps) to get through to her and if necessary frighten her a little bit. Quite apart from the worry she is putting you through, she cannot keep moving from house to house.

I won’t write more now as I am feeling very, very tired. I think the tension and emotion of the day have got to me. I can’t go to bed as I made son promise to text me when he gets safely home. They’ll stop at a service station to get something to eat so are unlikely to be all the way home till at least 10 pm.

I had two cards arrive today a pink envelope and a white one from Peterborough dont know where the pink one is from as it only has a biro line across the stamp.

More snow Mandy. We've had a beautifull sunny day all day but still the biting wind from the east. bird bath been frozen all day and the ground in the chiken run was hard as nails this morning but had thawed a bit and the chickens had their platform soles on again.

I do hope we hear from Vera tonight to say she is safely home. It must have been a very tiring and tearful day for her. Sending a ((hug)). <3
